At home, there was no sign of anyone. Shortly after they got him, Anita prepared Mira for bed after giving her a hot cereal and making sure she bathed before sleeping.

She had gone to her own room to change her cloth wondering why Carlos wasn’t back from work beside he usually comes early than her but today was different.

She checked the time and saw it was 9:15, she felt like calling him but she later kicked against it cause she couldn’t remember when she called him last or when he even called her.

She had finished taking her bath and changed to her nightie then she went to Mira room to check on her, she was fast asleep.
She had only move a few inch when she heard the key turning at the door, she was sure it was Carlos.

The fear came again and she stood transfixed as he came in.

He was holding his briefcase which he had drop on the couch asw soon as he came in.

“Good evening” she murmured not looking straight at him.

“You can hold your freaking greeting to yourself, I don’t need it” he Answered colly.

She didn’t know what to say and she wondered where he was coming from but she didn’t bother to ask him at all.

“Anita”

She turned to leave when he called her name and stopped at her track but she didn’t turn to face him.

“What’s going in between you and my cousin” Carlos asked.
What !! What the hell was he saying?

“I don’t understand what you’re saying beside which of your cousin are you talking about?”.

“Don’t give me that freaking innocent attitude, you should know what am talking about” Carlos said moving closer towards her.

“Carlos stop all this madness, how do you expect me to know what you’re talking about when I don’t even have an hint of what you’re saying” Anita said in a low tone trying to calm herself down.

Carlos is really pissing her off.

“Really, so you don’t know what’s going in between you and kelvin, do you think am a fool.. do you think you’re smarter than me” Carlos said as he held her arm tightly digging his long nails in her skin.

Anita scre-med in fright as her arm bleed “Carlos please leave me, you’re hurting me…seriously I don’t know what you’re talking about” kelvin is just my friend.

Is Carlos in his right senses???

Does he even know what he’s talking about beside kelvin is his cousin and they’ve been close friends before she even met Carlos so what was he trying to say.

That she’s dating kelvin or what!

“I hate lies” Carlos said tightening his grip on her arm while watching her arm bleed.

“Am not lying, I don’t have anything with him please let me be, please Carlos” she said and that angered Carlie more as he slapped her so hærd on her face making her fall.

“I hate it when you lie to me, you really irritate me each day I spend with you, gosh I wouldn’t have know you were cheating on me”.

“Carlos you slapped me, why are you doing this to me, what wrong have I ever done to you” Anita said crying but she bit her lower l-ips hærd so as not to make noise and wake Mira
.
She didn’t want the poor girl to see her in such a condition.

“Really, you still got mouth to talk” he took his belt while Anita tried to run but she couldn’t because he held her hair so tight she thought she would die.

He drag her allover the floor using the belt to hit her allover her body while she scre-med.

“Carlos please stop this” she scre-med but he turned deaf to her cries.

Mira who heard her mom voice rushed downstairs and started crying when she saw her mom scre-ming and crying.

She rushed to her dad biting him as hærd as she could till he left her mom.

“Gosh, you little witch….I won’t touch you cause you’re still little” Carlos said taking his suitcase and going out of the living room.

Anita was already in a pool of blood and she was trying to breath.

“Mommy, mom, are you okay, talk to me” Mira scre-med out as she sat beside Anita who held her hand trying to talk but she couldn’t.

She was bleeding, her vision was blur.

She fainted

Mira tried waking her mom but she wasn’t waking neither was she moving any part of her body, Mira was so confused as she watched her mother lifeless body then something came into her.

Uncle kelvin

Yes she need to call him since no other person came to her mind and her father had left her mother alone after beating her Lifelessly.

Mira quickly took the telephone on the table, she was going to dial uncle kelvin number beside she knows his number because he has taught her his number and it was stored in her memory so she can’t forget it.

* Kelvin just finished having his bath and was rubbing his lotion when he heard Clara calling him.

Clara was his girlfriend and he intend getting married to her, he had left her in the living room to come and have his bath after Carlos succeeded in getting him so upset by walking him out of his office.

He had sworn with his last breath not to have anything to do with him since he had turned himself fully to a life monster.

“Baby, you’ve got a call” Carlos said slightly knocking on the door which he had closed.

A call, he wasn’t expecting any call beside that was his personal number which only few people have it since it was not his business number.

He walked towards the door and opened it for Clara to come in.
He took his phone and was about checking the number when the phone rang again.

“Uncle kelvin, mom need you, my mom is not getting up” Mira said in her childish voice not even giving him a chance to talk.

“Mira is that you?, what happened to your mom” kelvin asked quite confused with a puzzle expression on his face and Clara was looking at him, wondering what went wrong.

“Dad had beating mom, I was asleep when I heard a loud noise and I rushed down only to see dad beating mom and she’s lifeless on the floor, please come and save my mummy” Mira said crying as she turned to her mom wishing she would just get up and talk to her.

“What, your dad did that, am coming over” kelvin said hanging up the call as he quickly opened his closet looking for a shirt to wear with his trouser.

Clara was looking at him with a confused face watching him dress hurriedly.

“What’s wrong” Clara asked kelvin who was done wearing his trouser.

“Its Carlos, he had beaten that poor lady to come,I just got a call from his five years old daughter beside where’s my car key” kelvin asked.

“Its downstairs” Clara answered as she followed kelvin.

She knows Carlos and have heard everything he had been doing to his wife from kelvin who had told her everything.

She tried to imagine how a man could be so foolish to the point of hitting his wife to a come, she had met Carlos several times and she’s still finding it difficult to believe he would lay his hand on his wife without a reason but even if there was a reason he still doesn’t have the right to lay his hand on his wife.

Even when he has a daughter, what kind of moral was he going to pass to his daughter.

Kelvin took his car key and rushed out but he took his phone and called the corps before going.

He was going to arrest Carlos for this cause it was against the rule of the country and he would make sure he spend his fail in jail even if Anita disagree.

Clara wanted to follow him but he insisted on her staying as he entered the car and drove off while expecting the corps to get there before him.
