Alexa’s pov 🎀

Crescent high…!

*… but I lost him!* I hear Joyce’s voice.

My eyes snap, I look around and realized I’m still in the school clinic.. but I’m laying on a bed.

When did I fall asleep?

“Don’t worry, I’ll get him myself!” Xander said.

I raised my head and saw Joyce standing in front of Xander with her head bowed.

“Joyce? Where did you ran off to?” I asked.

“I wanted to catch the culprit but…”

I cut her off with a loud gasp… I quickly hop off the bed and gently push Xander back down.

He stares at me with a small confused frown.

“Alexa? What are you doing?” Joyce asked.

“He’s badly injured and shouldn’t sitting down for now!” I said worriedly.

Xander holds my hand and stops me from making him lay down.

“Baby, I’m fine!” He said.

I shake my head and continue to push him on the bed… I he’s injured because of me, I can’t afford it if anything goes wrong.

“Baby, I’m really fine, a few nails coated in silver won’t affect me!”

I scoffed.

“You don’t know how serious your wound is, I watch the doctor pulled out the nails and I believe if you were awake.. you wouldn’t be able to bear the pain!”

I hear Xander sniffling a laugh, I put my hands on my wa-ist and glare at him.

“Why are you laughing?”

“I’m happy!” He simply replies.

I frown and feels his temperature with my palm.

“Are you alright?”

He nods.

“I don’t think so, I mean, who’d be happy feeling pains?”

“I don’t mind the pains, at least it made me feel how much you care about me!” He said.

I rolled my eyeballs.. I don’t care about him, I am here because I’m feeling guilty.

Joyce clears her voice behind me.. I totally forgot she’s here.

“Alpha, your mate is awake, I’ll leave you to her.. excuse me!” She said and rushed out.

Xander wrap his arms around my wa-ist and rest his head on my stomach.. I frown.

“Ok, what are you doing?” I asked.

“Saying thank you for bringing me here in time and for caring about me!” He replied.

“It’s what I should do.. after all, you got injured because of me!”

I tried to unwrap his arms from my wa-ist but he didn’t let go, so I just let him be for sometime.

“Xander, lay down, I’ll go get the doctor!”

“No need, he said we can go, I’m fine!”

“When did he tell you that?” I asked and manage to unwrap his arms.

“Just now!”

I frown deeply. “How?”

“Mind-link!”

Mind-link?! Someone has also used that word before and I didn’t ask what it means.. guess it’s something among wolves.

“Well your mind-link doesn’t convince me, I want the doctor to do a proper check up on you!”

He sighed.

“Hmm, what about if I show you that there’s isn’t even a scar.. will you believe I’m ok?”

“Of course!” I replied because I know it’s impossible for his wounds to heal now.

He first stares in my eyes for a few seconds, studying my them to see if I believe him or not…and honestly, I don’t believe him.

He unbuttons his shirt and turns his back. My mouth hangs open as I stare at his back, I point at it speechlessly.

“Impossible!” I managed to utter.

“Very possible, I’m a werewolf, werewolves have super healing abilities” he explained.

“Really?!” I asked to confirm.

“I’m proof!”

I smiled. “That’s so cool” I said in awe. “So, you really are not feeling any pains on your back?”

He shakes his head. My hands move on its own and racks through his back.. I thought he’ll flinch away because of some inter pain.

But he didn’t.. instead of flinching, I hear him purr in satisfaction.

I withdraw my hand. “I think that’s the only thing like about being a werewolf now!”

“There are so many things about werewolves that you don’t know yet, and bet me, you’ll want to be a werewolf too if you know everything!”

“Hmm, we’ll see about that!”

He got up and buttons his shirt, he stares his wrist watch.

“3:32, come, I’ll drive you home!” He said.

I picked my bag and shake my head.

“No, I’ll send you home instead, you should rest.. I’m not too sure you’re really ok!”

“Baby you don’t believe me?”

I rolled my eyes, what will I do to make him stop calling me his baby.. but I secretly like it.

“I wanna be sure you get home safe and sound!”

“I’m the Alpha prince, nothing can harm me and no one would dare to pick up a fight with me!”

I went on tiptoes and grabs his cheeks.. pulling on them softly.

“You are the alpha prince but someone still stab you.. you shouldn’t let your guard down simply because you’re the alpha prince!”

He smiles brightly.

“You obviously care about me!” He states.

I release his cheeks.

“Stop dreaming!”

“Oh, if this is a dream then I don’t wanna wake, ever!”

Is he flirting with me? When did he start flirting? or he was just hiding his skills.

I frown. “Wait.. when did you learn to be a flirt?”

“I don’t know, baby!”

I sighed and shake my head.

“Come on, I’ll send you home!”

Dex’s apartment…!

“William, are you sure about this?” Micah asked as he follows william out.

Will stops abruptly and Micah bumps into his back, Will turns to him with a serious expression.

“This is the only way for now!”

“But how do we enter his apartment? We don’t even have his key?” Micah points out.

William rolled his eyes and smacks his head.

“That’s why we are spies, we are breaking in!”

Micah gasp and touched his face.

“What if something happens to my handsome face?” He asked.

That’s his only fear, he’s scared he might mistakingly get himself injured in the face.

“Micah, this is why I don’t like involving you in my missions. Do you think your face is more important than everyone’s safety?”

Micah doesn’t say a word, Will glares at him a few times.

“We are breaking in!” He said in a firm voice, leaving no room for Micah to argue.

“Oh!” He exclaimed. “Then what should we find after we break in?”

“Anything that proves he’s human or a hunter!”

Micah nods, Will clears his throat and head towards Brett’s window.

“I wonder when you’re gonna start spending time with your mate… she’ll think you’re too boring to be with!” Micah grumbles.

William heard him but pretend like he didn’t hear him.

“Hurry up, we have limited time…we must be done before he gets back from school”

“Yes, commander!” Micah mocks him.

Alexa’s pov 🎀

Alpha King’s palace…!

We arrived at Xander’s home, I ring the doorbell and wait for someone to come get the door… Xander forgot to bring his key.

“Hey! Alexa!” The queen exclaims as she opens the door wide.

A warm, welcoming smile on her l-ips.

“Aunt, good afternoon!” I greets.

“Good afternoon, darling, I didn’t know you’d be so thoughtful.. you finally visit me today!” She happily said.

She makes way for me to come in but I shake my head reluctantly, she grabs my hand and pulled me in,side with her.

Xander clears his throat and we stop and stare at him.. he puts on a fake smile.

“I’m fine too mom, thanks for your care!” He said.

“I didn’t ask how you are!” His mother said.

He huffed.

“Of course, out with the old and in with the new!” He said and marches in angrily and sits on a sofa.

But a growl quickly sent him up immediately, I guess he didn’t see his dad sitting there.

“Come on, dear.. what do you wanna drink?” His mother asked leading me to a sofa.

“I’m fine, aunt, you don’t have to entertain me.. your home is mine too!” I said politely.

Honestly, I didn’t know why I said that.. but she smiles widely, even the King stops writing and glanced at me.

“Your majesty!” I greet the king.

“You’re calling my wife aunt, you can call me uncle too!” He said… well, more like command.

I nod and sits down, Xander’s mom sits next to me.

“Aunt, I should be on my way now, I’ll make sure to visit you next time!”

She frowns slightly.

“Huh? But I thought you’re here to pay me a visit!”

I shake my head.

“No, aunt, I sent Xander home because he was injured”

“Xander was injured?!” She asked and I nod.

She paused and stared at Xander, I guess they’re communicating telepathically.. mind-link, I think.

Then she turns to me with a bright smile.

“Oh, I heard about it! But I don’t think he’s ok yet!”

“Ah? But he said the doctor said he’s ok and can go home!”

Xander’s mom shakes her head.

“Did you confirm with the doctor?” She asked.

I smacked my head mentally.. that bastard puppy dog! He tricked me.

“I didn’t confirm with the doctor but I saw his back, it’s healed.. no wounds and no scar”

“That’s it, it just look like it’s healed on the surface but in fact, it’s still very injured on the in,side!” She said.

What she said makes sense.. ugh! Now I’m feeling extremely bad, he’s suffering from an accident meant for me.

“What should we do now? Can we still send him to the hospital?” I asked.

She shakes her head.

“No!” She paused and sighed. “And I just mind-link the doctor, he said Xander needs a 24hours care.. but unfortunately, I can’t do that?!”

She sighed and rests her head on her palm.. shaking her head sorrowfully.

“I have back pains and I’m feeling quite under the weather.. I can’t even look after myself now, how then can I look after my son!” She paused and stared at her husband. “Or Daniel, are you gonna take care of our son?”

The King stops writing and drops the file he’s holding and m-ssages his forehead.

“Unfortunately I can’t, Xander is too hærd to please and I always suffer from headaches!” The king complains.

I turned to Xander, he’s just quiet staring at them.

“What are we going to do now?” Xander’s Mom asked.

I sighed, I caused this, I should be responsible for it.

“Aunt, don’t worry, I’ll stay and take care of Xander!” I said.

She paused and stared at me.

“Can you? The doctor said it’s gonna take more than a month for him to heal completely!”

I took a deep breath and smile.

“Yes, but I have to take permission from my brothers to stay here!”

“Don’t worry, don’t worry, I’ll talk to your brothers!” The queen said.

I nod, it’s better if she talks to Will on my behalf… I don’t think he’ll let me stay if I talk to him myself.

“Ok, aunt!”

She embrace me briefly.

“Thank you, Alexa, I’m gonna trouble you to help take care of Xander then!”

“It’s no trouble at all, it’s my responsibility!”

She smiles and nods, she got up.

“Wait, I’ll be right back!” She said and in a flash, she’s already upstairs and back.

I guess that’s one of the perks of being a werewolf! She opens my hand and hands a key to me.

“I figured you’ll both need your space, so this is the key to Xander’s mansion”

My eyes grow wide.

“Xander’s mansion?!” She nods. “Xander has his own mansion?”.

She nods again, then I remembered Micah’s words that Xander is a billionaire.. I guess Micah was saying the truth.

I stared at him, finding it hærd to believe.. he winks at me, I feel myself blush and quickly look away.

“Xander, take her to your mansion!” The queen orders him.

“Yes, Mom!” He replies.

I didn’t say anything.. my mind is just clouded with the thought of Xander and I living under one roof… alone!

“Baby, let’s go!” I hear Xander said.

I nod, he takes my hand and those sparks returns.

“Take care if yourselves, I’ll come and visit you one of the days!” The queen said.

“Alright, mom, we’re leaving!” Xander said and pulls me out.

Writer’s pov 🎀

Brett’s apartment…!

Micah gro-ns loudly and throws a book carelessly on a random table.

“Will, we’ve been searching for long but didn’t find any evidence!”

“Right, that’s weird, I know for sure that guy is not a wolf.. but why can’t we find anything to prove that?” Will wonders.

Just then their ears pricks up as they hear footsteps coming from afar.

“Let’s leave, we’ll investigate him another day!” Will said.

“Well you don’t have to tell me twice!” Micah said and rushed to the window through which they came in.

He jumps out and Will jumps after him.. they rushed back to their apartment.

Micah hurried to the fridge and takes a bottle of chilled water.. he finished it up in one gulp.

“If he’s really a wolf hunter, I don’t think he’ll keep his weapons with him here!” Micah said.

“Yeah, why didn’t I think of that?”

Micah sits on a chair next to the dinning table.. he throws the empty bottle in the trash can.

“I think the only way we can catch him is by following up his movements!”

Will nods. “Hmm, you’ll follow-up his movements and I’ll think of another way!”

“Wait, why do I have to follow him up and not you?”

“Because that’s what you’re very good at!” Will replies simply.

The doorbell rings and Will gets up to get it since he’s the closest to the door.

“Jenna! What are you doing here?” He asked a bit surprised.

Micah hears this and rushed to the door. Jenna shows the stuffs she bought from the grocery shop.

“To cook for my mate!”

“Oh!” Will said.

Jenna smiles at him but he simply avoids her eyes.. he’s shy and Jenna understands it.

“Hello, I’m Micah!” Micah said and reach out his hand for a handshake.

Jenna takes it.

“I know you!”

“Wow! I’m so popular!” Micah boasts.

“Yeah, popular among the ladies!” Will said.

Micah rolls his eyes.

“Yeah, it’s better to be popular among the ladies than be popular among books!” He retorts.

Will takes the stuffs from Jenna and opens the door wide, making way for her to come in.

Will head towards the kitchen with the stuffs… Micah leans towards Jenna’s ear and whisper.

“My brother is so boring, but since the moon goddess has paired you two together.. you’ll have to put up with him”

Jenna smiles and nod. “I kinda noticed that already, but not too worry, I’ll take good care of him!”

“Then I’m rest assured!” Micah said dramatically.

*I can hear you!* Will yells from the kitchen.

Micah winks at Jenna… then speaks loudly.

“Er.. Will, I’m meeting up with a friend, I’ll be home later!”

“It’s not my business!”

“It sure is, pretender!” Micah said and winks at Jenna, then he rushed out.

Jenna laughs lightly and head towards the kitchen to join Will.
