Melanie’s pov 🧚

The ride from GOLDEN HOURS HOTEL to Gabby’s apartment is a long and silent one, it’s also boring.

None of us uttered a word to each other, though Mr Bright, no.. Lucifer.. tried talking to me, but I ignored him.

Now that I know he’s the devil, I don’t know what I’m supposed to discuss with him..that aside, a lot of thoughts are running through my mind, like….

I decided not to be a nun, only to give my V-rginity to the devil himself.

The car jerked forward, pushing me forward, if not for the seatbelt holding me back…my head would have hit the seat in front of me.

I looked out the window and realized we’ve arrived at Gabby’s place.

Carling stepped out and rushed to our side, she opened the door and gave way for me to step out.

I stepped out, she smiled politely at me.

“Miss Martinez” she bowed at me.

But I didn’t reply her, because my mind and soul wasn’t there. I just wanted to lay on my bed and sleep off, then maybe wake up and find out all of these are nothing, but a mere nightmare.

“Darling, wait up” Lucifer called behind me.

I didn’t stop, neither did I turn to look at him. He rushed in front of me and blocked my way, I was just two steps away from the door.

“I know you’re confused about everything right now, but just try to be open minded…”

I cut him off with a scoff.

“Open minded? Do you know what I’m feeling right now? Do you know how devastated your life’s story just made me?” I asked, in a quiet voice, I don’t have the strength to scre-m at him.

“Darling, try to understand me…”

“Yeah, I’m trying to understand you, that’s why I need some time to think.. I need to figure somethings out, I need some space.. away from you”

He looked in my eyes, his eyes searching mine for God knows what.. his expression changed drastically, he looked pained.

He reached for my hands, he held them gently in his.

“But we just made up, we just got back together from our two weeks break…”

I snatched my hands from him, then shook my head too.

“Yeah, but I think we still need another break!”

He stared at me with his mouth slightly open, he wanted to say something but he’s stopping himself.

“Lucifer, think about it, I have dined with the devil.. I have f**ked the devil, can you imagine what I’m going through?”

“I know, understand how you feel, but… ”

“You should go, I don’t wanna see you now” I said.

I pushed him out of my way and headed towards the door, but he grabbed me from behind and pulled me into a hug.

“You can’t break up with me, darling, I’ll be honest with you, you’re my happiness.. I’m at my happiest moments whenever I’m with you.. you can’t break up with me, I won’t accept it” he said.

“Let me go” I tried to wriggle myself out of his hug.

“No, I don’t want a break up, I can give you time, any time you want to get over this… but break up is not an option”

He wouldn’t let me go no matter how hærd I wriggle, his hold kept getting tighter instead.

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, then exhaled slowly.

“I’ll break up with you for real, if you don’t let me go!” I threatened him.

As if my body burned him, he let me go immediately and raised his hands in surrender.

“Go home, we’ll talk when I’ve thought it through” I told him.

I opened the door and entered, I closed it in a soft bang and rested my back against it for a few moments.

It was silent outside for a moment, then I heard his footsteps approaching the door, but it suddenly stopped.

After a very short while, I heard his footsteps fading away and soon his car roared to life.. and drove off.

As if I was subconsciously waiting for him to leave, my tears started rolling down as I slumped down.. I began sobbing.

My mind flashed back to his story, how he was banished and cast down..

“Lanie! OMG!” Gabby exclaimed.

She walked closer to me, studied me and quickly squatted in front of me.. she pulled me into a comforting hug.

That’s one thing I love most about her, she won’t ask the reason for your tears, before she gives you a comforting shoulder.

“Why are you crying? Weren’t you supposed to be on a date? I thought…” she cut herself off.

I guess she’s just realized something, she rubbed my back softly as my sobs grew louder.

“… it’s true, right? You found out he really has a family, right?” she asked.

I shook my head since I couldn’t speak, I sniffled and continued sobbing loudly.

“He doesn’t have a family?”

“N-no” I stuttered out.

“Then what happened? Why did you come back crying?” she asked, sounding confused.

I pulled away from the hug, I wiped my tears but that didn’t stop them from falling more.

“Gabby, he’s the devil”

“The devil?”

I nodded quickly. “Yes, he’s the real devil, the one father Reed always preach against in the bible”

Gabby frowned at my words, she looked confused and seemed like she doesn’t get what I mean.

“How could you say he’s the devil? What did he do to you?” she asked.

“He’s the real devil, he even took me to hell.. I saw what like looks like, I experienced hell for a brief moment.. he’s the real devil” I said.

She reached forward and felt my temperature with her palm, then sighed.

“You’re pretty normal, but just in case, I’ll contact a psychiatric hospital… ”

“I’m not mad, I’m telling you the truth.. Mr Bright is the devil”

Gabby simply stared at me strangely, she doesn’t believe me…but I don’t blame her, no normal human would claim they’ve seen the devil.. I know I wouldn’t.

How can I explain it to her? To make her believe I’m saying the truth?
Then it clicked… Caleb!

“Do you remember how Mr Bright always told me Caleb was Cain?”

She nodded.

“Well, haven’t you been wondering how he knew Caleb was Cain?”

“Yeah…” she trailed off.

She nodded thoughtfully, as though she’s recalling something.. then she stared at me like she finally got it.

“… now it makes sense, it all makes sense” she muttered.

At that moment, I burst into laughter.. I started laughing uncontrollably and she gave me a weird look.. wondering why I’m laughing so much.

I got up, staggering slightly, but she quickly helped me up steadily.

“I gave my V-rginity to the devil, I slept with the devil.. aren’t I great?!” I continued laughing.

“Lanie… ”

I ignored her and headed towards my room, laughing along as I went.

Gabby stood quietly, she simply watched speechlessly as I walked closer to my room.. she knew I needed some time to myself, that’s why she’s not trying to stop me.

I opened my door and stepped into my room, I shut it in a very loud bang, then jumped on my bed and continued laughing.

I don’t know what I’m feeling, I’m not feeling sad and I’m not feeling happy too.. but I just couldn’t stop laughing.

I laughed until my laughter turned into tears, and I started crying loudly and miserably.

Life…

The devil… God’s adversary… The rebellious angel is my boyfriend.
The number one enemy of all human, is my lover.. the one I gave myself to!

Narrator’s pov 🧚

Lucifer’s penthouse…

Caldwell remained unmoved on the bed, his chest and shoulders are swollen and red, with very black veins pumping on his chest.

Lucifer balled his fist, clenched his jaw and looked away from him…he shut his eyes and released a growl.

“Who told my darling about Octavia?” He asked Carling.

“It’s Caldwell, but she forced it out of him” she replied.

He scoffed.

“Forced it out of him? Was she pointing a gun or an heavenly dagger over his head?!”

Carling didn’t reply, she simply bowed her head and took a few steps away.. she knew any wrong word from her, would cost her life.

“Add another nail to the ones in his body!”

“Sir!”

Carling fell on her knees, she stared at Lucifer with tearful eyes.

“Sir, he’s already gotten enough punishment…”

“Are you questioning my judgement?!”

“No, sir, I would never” she glanced at Caldwell. “But adding another nail to his body while he’s unconscious is very dangerous, it could cost his life”

Lucifer turned back and glared at Caldwell, he released an angry growl.

“I’m going to my bar, no disturbance of any sort is allowed!”

“Yes, sir”

He stormed out angrily, Carling let out a sigh of relief immediately he left.

Lucifer popped the wine opened, he poured a good quantity in a glass and finished it in one gulp… He refilled his glass and decided to play some music.

h¡p-hop songs blared loudly in the air, the wh0le room was vibrating from the loudness of the music.

Lucifer started dancing to the beat of the music, not minding if his dancing steps are right or wrong.

Gabby’s pov 🧚

Gabby’s apartment… Next morning…

I was making breakfast when I heard the doorbell ring, I wanted to call out for Lanie to go get, but I quickly remembered she hasn’t stepped out of her since last night.

Poor thing, she must be fighting with herself right now. I tried to talk to her this morning, but she refused to open her door…so I just let her be.

Finding out you don’t have even the slightest idea of who you claim to know and love, is so devastating.

It’s gonna be so tough for her, I mean, I don’t know how to face Mr Bright if I see him right now.

I have been rude to him on many occasions, he’d have killed me if God wasn’t by my side.. goodnesses, I should be careful with who I mess with these days.

The doorbell rang again, I quickly washed my hands and rushed over.

Opening the door, I’m met with my nightmare.. Mr Bright.
Great fear gripped me as I stared at him, I felt my wh0le body trembling and my l-ips quivering.

The devil is standing in front of me, I’m gonna die, he’s gonna kill me for messing with me all these while.

Hi, I’m here for my darling” he said with a smile.

But I don’t think that’s a normal smile, it must have some meaning behind it…
My eyes closed tightly, I raised my hands up and shook my head.

“Please don’t kill me, I didn’t know… I didn’t know.. I didn’t know you’re… ”

My eyes snapped opened when I felt his grip on my right hand, he’s giving me a weird look.. which I’m interpreting to be a warning glare.

“Are you ok?” He asked me.

“Argggggggggggggggh” I shouted…

Without wasting time, or waiting for him to kill me, I snatched my hand from him and ran in,side.

I quickly shut the door, then raced to my room and also shut the door.. making sure I locked it from in,side.

I completely forgot about making breakfast, it’s best I save my life first.. I can only eat that food when I’m alive!
