★ Hopelessly In love★

“Why are we suddenly going back? Is it because of what happened last night?” Tiffany asked.

“Lucas is in the hospital, he was injured while trying to protect Sophia. I don’t know the full detail and so we have to go back” Frederick replied which got her nodding in return.

“I will go and get change” she said to him before leaving for the bathroom.

She had thought that the honeymoon had ended because of what she did last night but knowing that they are only going back because of Lucas, she feels relieve.

All through the ride back to the city, Tiffany kept starring at Frederick who was busy with laptop.

Not once did he give her a glance and that made her sad.

She doesn’t like it when he ignore her, she doesn’t like it when he doesn’t speak to her, she doesn’t like the fact that it’s due to the issue of not wanting a child that he’s keeping a long face when he’s meant to smile.

So she made her mind to talk to him as soon as they get to the city but their arrival to the hospital took most of their time.

After checking on Lucas, Frederick went to the office while Tiffany stayed at the hospital trying to pacify Sophia who wouldn’t stop crying.

“Judging by what you’ve told me, it’s not your fault that Lucas is injured, so stop blaming yourself” Tiffany said.

“He’s in this state because of me” Sophia said looking lost.

“Lucas is a strong man and he will surely wake up” Tiffany said trying to assure her friend.

“Why don’t we go back to your house and when you’ve freshen up and have taken a rest. We will come back here”

“But I…”

“Lucas is in a coma, he isn’t going to run away from the hospital So let’s go get you freshened up and then we will come back” Tiffany insisted which got Sophia complying.

While Sophia went to take a bathe, Tiffany cooked up some thing Frederick.

He has been in the office all day and knowing how much of a workacholic he is, he wouldn’t have eat a thing.

When they got back to the hospital, Tiffany excused herself and made her to the office to give her husband his food and also, she hoped that they will try to settle their differences.

For the umpteenth time that day, Tiffany’s word came back to taunt him ruining his concentration on work.

Just to forget what she said, he came to work to immerse his thought into making more money for the company but it isn’t working cause he keeps remembering what she said.

After everything he has done, how can she still not trust him?

He knows that it is too soon to demand for a child and that’s why he agreed on them not having a child for now but she doesn’t seem to care.

Setting the document aside, he decided to go home and get change before going back to the hospital to see Lucas.

He was waiting for Willow to bring his car from the parking lot when a car drew to a halt in front of him.

The door open and Yvonne came out of it.

“Good to see you back after having a two days honey moon” she mocked as she walk towards him.

“What do you want? Am not In the mood for your nonsense” Frederick said wanting her to leave but she pulled him back.

“I know you hate me and all but can’t we remain as friends? I hate us being this way” Yvonne said.

“What are you up to cause I know you don’t mean good with this sudden friendship of yours”

“We once dated and you know perfectly that I don’t do things just for fun” Yvonne said looking serious.

“So you want us to remain as friends right?” Frederick asked starring at his watch impatiently.

“I do” Yvonne replied as she notice a taxi arrive and alighting from it was Tiffany.

“Fine then,we are friends. Excuse me” Frederick said wanting to walk past her againbut she pulled him back.

“Why don’t we have a hug to seal our new bond?”Yvonne asked

“Don’t push your luck, Yvonne” Frederick warned as he succeeded in walking past her.

Knowing full well that Tiffany was watching them, she quickly went towards Frederick and hug him from behind.

Tiffany who was watching felt hurt at seeing him with his ex and so she left the scene without letting him know of her presence.

“What the hell are you doing?” Frederick asked as he pushed her away.

“I was just giving you a hug” Yvonne replied nonchalantly.

“Don’t ever do that again or better yet, stay away from me” he yelled at her just as Willow arrived with his car.

Getting into it, Willow drove off leaving Yvonne starring after it.

“You will be mine again, I swear that you will be mine” she vowed softly.

TIFFANY’S HOME

“Am home” Tiffany called out as soon as she got into the house but there was no one to welcome her.

“Where could they have gone to?” She said asking no one in particular.

She was about calling when Philip came into the house.

“Your back” He said giving her a cheerful smile.

Ever since what took place during her wedding day, she hasn’t set eyes on him and seeing him now made her feel awkward.

“Your father has gone out with some friends while Kelvin is crashing the night at a friend’s house” Philip informed.

“Oh, I didn’t know” She replied.

“That’s because no one is expecting you. After all you are a married woman and you are meant to be at your husband’s home” Philip said.

“Your right, I should be at my husband’s house but then, I came to see them. It’s best that I be on my way” she said as she picked up her bag wanting to leave but Philip stood in front of her.

“You aren’t happy right?” He asked scrutinizing her face.

“Why do you ask?”

“Cause you don’t have that glow that a married women have” Philip said touching her cheek but she moved away from him.

“What sort of glow must a married woman have? You have been watching too much films lately right? Isn’t Layla doing a thing to stop that?” She asked trying to tease.

“I broke up with Layla ” he replied which got her starring at him.

“How can I keep on dating her when I know it’s you I want” Philip added lightly.

“Philip you shouldn’t be saying this to…”,

“Why shouldn’t I? Though I found out about your feelings a little bit late, I know that it’s me you love. You still love me Tiffany” he said gruffly.

“Am not going to listen to you” Tiffany said wanting to leave but he pulled her back.

“You might have his ring on your finger but that doesnt mean that you love him. It’s me you love and am going to do my best in getting you back” he said as he pulled her into his arms, giving her a tight hug.

“Philip, you need to let go” Tiffany said trying to pull free but he only tightened his hold.

“I love you and I know you love me too. End your marriage with Frederick. ” He said into her ear.

“You can wait till your next life for that!” Frederick angry voice drifted to them and immediately Tiffany pulled away from Philip to stare at Frederick.

“You bastard!” Frederick yelled as he gave Philip a punch on the face.

“Stay the hell away from my wife! You’ve been warned” Frederick added before pulling Tiffany out of the house.

Philip stood starring at them and he clench his fist in anger.

“I should be the one holding her, It should be my ring on her finger” he muttered just as a thought came to mind.

Dialing a certain number, he waited patiently until the person answered.

“Does your offer to work together still stand?” Frederick asked.

“It does. Thought you weren’t going to do it?” Yvonne sultry voice drifted down the line.

“I was a fool for hesitating now I want her and I will do everything to get her” Philip declared.

FREDERICK’S PENT HOUSE

As soon as Willow got them home, Frederick got out of the car without saying a thing and slowly, Tiffany followed.

“What the hell were you doing alone with him?” Frederick asked as soon as she joined him in the room.

“I only went there to see my dad and I happen to run into him” Tiffany explained.

“Must you talk to him? You run into him by mistake but is It a must that you talk to him knowing how he feels about you!” He yelled at her which got Tiffany angry too.

“And you? Is it a must that you talk to your ex- lover knowing that she wants you back?” Tiffany asked.

“What are you talking….”

“I saw you okay! Like a fool, I went to your office to give you some thing to eat but what I saw got me feeling full instead of you!” She yelled at him in return.

“Did you see Yvonne and I?” He asked mildly.

“I did and it was quite a scene”

“Are you perhaps jealous?” Frederick asked which infuriated her.

“Why would I be jealous when I feel nothing for you?” She asked wanting to hit him where it hurts and she succeeded.

“You are right! You feel nothing and so you can’t be jealous. I will go and freshen up” he said as he walk past her.

“If you still have hope that I will ever fall for you then it’s time you stop hoping cause never will my heart belong to you” she yelled after him and that got him stopping mid way.

Not saying a thing, he went into his room while Tiffany sat on the couch feeling like the worst person on earth.

Why the hell did she say that to him?

NEXT DAY ~ SOPHIA’S HOME

“Let’s go, Tiffany” Sophia said as she stood to leave but Tiffany whose thought was miles away sat still not making an attempt to leave.

“What’s wrong? You’ve been looking like that ever since you arrived?” Sophia asked.

“It’s nothing” Tiffany replied but Sophia persisted.

“I know things haven’t been going well between you and Frederick and sharing it with me isn’t going to hurt” Sophia said and that got Tiffany telling her the whole thing begining from how she met Frederick till how she married him.

“I must say that Frederick is one kind of a guy. If he did all that just to make you his then he must really be in love with you” Sophia murmured.

” What about you? How do you feel when you see him ? Do you still think about Philip when you are with him?” Sophia asked Tiffany and she shook her head in reply.

“You can’t tell your heart what to do but you should try to listen to it. Try to listen and you will get the answer you want” Sophia advised.

Tiffany did as she said and all she could think of is Frederick.

Ever since he came into her life, he has slowly made his way into her heart but stupid her still believed herself in love with Philip.

“So? What is it telling you?” Sophia asked.

“That am hopelessly in love with Frederick” Tiffany answered.

“That’s great!”

“It isn’t. I….I got jealous after seeing him with his ex and said cruel things to him and now he’s going on a trip ” Tiffany said as she recalled the text he sent her earlier.

“Trip? If he’s going on a trip that should be the trip Lucas is meant to go and that trip will be taking a month! Are you going to let him leave and live without a month of seeing him?” Sophia asked.

“The jerk didn’t tell me about the duration of his trip ” Tiffany replied as she got up.

“Now you know and you should…”

“Am going to stop him, he has to know that I love him. He can’t get on that plane without know how much I love him” Tiffany said in agitation and Sophia handed her a car key.

“It’s a friend of mine, use it and make sure you stop that hunk of yours from leaving ” Sophia advised.

“I will” Tiffany said before dashing out of the house…
