☔Episode 19☔

Penny’s POV:

I got downstairs and met them already eating breakfast.

Bryce was sitting down at the far end of the dining table.

“Good morning.” I greeted and he just nodded.

“Good morning baby girl.” I k-ssed Arley’s cheek and Chris.

“Howwas your night baby?” I asked her.

“Very good Penny.” She said with a bright smile.

“Where are you going mommy?” Chris asked.

“Hum, mommy is going for an interview baby and she prays to get employed.” I said and Arley frowned.

“Don’t worry Penny, f you don’t get employed daddy will employ you to his big company.” She said and I chuckled silently.

Only if you knew baby.

I stole a glance at Bryce but unfortunately he was also looking at me.

Mortified, I quickly look somewhere else, pink covered my cheek adding more contour to it.

“Do you want some curry?” I asked her.

“Yes please.” She said.

I picked up the curry and put some in,side her plate and Chris.

“Do you want some Mr……Bryce?” I asked and he nods.

Taking a deep breath, I stood up from my seat and walk to his side.

I put his in,side his plate and went back to sit down.

He ate for awhile and stood up then grab his briefcase.

“Be punctual Miss James.” He said and walk out.

Now we’re into formality?
Last night he said I could call him Bryce, but now….

Whatever.

Since Faith will be taking both Chris and Arley to school, I guess I’ll be punctual.

“Bye babies.” I k-ssed both of their cheeks and grabbed my purse then walk out of the dinning room.

I got outside and was stopped by a guard.

“Mr King ordered me to drive you.” He said and I just keep staring at him in confusion.

Drive me?

He should have given me a lift instead.

Guess I can’t read what is going on in his dsmn mind.

“Okay, thank you.” I said as he opened the door for me.

I got in and sat down. The chilling coldness made me relax.

F%%k, i wish this is my car.

So relaxing.

“I’ll drive now Miss James.” He said and I nods.

Let’s go get the job.taking a deep breath I did a sigh of cross and stare ahead of me.

I stood before the huge company with my mouth dropped open.

I got to the receptionist desk and couldn’t help my shocked self.

I was watching everywhere like a cinema.

I stood before the receptionist desk and she was busy typing out.

“Excuse me please, I’m here for the interview.” I told her.

“Okay, take the first elevator to the thirth floor.” She said.

“Thank you.” I hastily t-rn on my heels and followed her direction you the elevator.

I got in,side the elevator and pressed the thirth floor.

The elevator stopped and I walk out.

Holy crap!

There are lots of people here, can I really get this job?

They were all so beautiful.
Don’t feel down Penny, you can do this.

This place is like heaven.

So beautifully sculptured.

“Excuse me please, I’m here for the interview.” I told the woman sitting before the computer.

“You’re number 35, have a seat.” She said and i scoffed.

Number 35?

When will it even get to my turn?

I sat down and brought out my phone, there were five missed calls from Maggie.

I sigh and redial her number.

📲Where are you Penny?” She asked.

📲Sorry, I forgot to call you. I’m at Kings conglomerate for the interview of an accountant.” I said.

📲What! And you didn’t tell me?” She asked, shock was written all over her voice.

📲Maggie I…..” There was a dot dot at the end of the call.

She hanged up on me.

I guess i didn’t do right.
I should have at least send her a text.

I decided to draft out a text for her.

📤I know that you’re angry with me but i just want to say that I’m sorry.
Forgive me alright?
I’ll call you later girlfriend📤

I send it and put my phone back in,side my purse.

“Miss James, it’s your turn now.” The secretary said.

Oh shit.

Oh lord, oh lord. Come and have your way…….

☔Episode 20☔

Bryce’s POV:

I was getting impatient with the time wasted just for this interview.

I sigh and checked my wristwatch, it is already 9am and I have a meeting by eleven.

“Send the next person in immediately.”I spoke in,side the telephone.

I stood up from my seat and walk towards the window, I stared down at the busy highways.

A small knock came on the door and it was pushed open.

I waited till the person sat down before I turned around and walked back to my seat without looking up to see the face of the candidate.

“You’re here for the post of an accountant, your files please.” I said calmly while typing on my laptop.

It was silent so I look up to see what’s going on.

My breath hitched as I stare at her.

She is so beautiful up close.

I might be with Zendaya but i still appreciate beautiful women.

She blushed and stared down at her hand.

“I…..I came for the interview.” She said, I can’t…couldn’t believe that I lost my voice just staring at her.

“Yes hum…” I cleared my throat. ” The credentials that I told you to bring.”

She opened her bag and brought out the files then dropped them before me.

“Here.”

I opened the files, going through each one of them carefully.

And I’ll be honest.it is really impressive. A small smile hugged on my lip and I look to meet her eyes on me.

She was hopeful to get the job.

“If you work for me Miss James, what do you promise?” I asked her, my hand under my chin.

“I’ll be punctual with everything I do, I’ll be honest with this company. I’ll take it as mine by being diligent.” She said.

I stared at her, intentionally. There is just something about the woman that I loved…..that I liked.

She held my gaze for awhile and blushed, I saw her from under my glass desk as she pressed her legs together.

I raise an eyebrow at her action.

She look away and coughs lightly.

“Do I…..do I have the job now?” She asked,still pressing her legs together.

I stood up from my seat and walk around the desk towards her.

I got behind her and placed my hands on her seat.

I bought my mouth closer to her ear and whispered.

“Did you just press your legs together?” I asked in a whispered. She shivered and kept quiet.

“Are you ho-ny?” I whispered asked. She cleared her throat and whimpers.

“Mr…..Bryce, we should continue with the interview.” She stuttered. I chuckled and stepped away from her.

Now I am very sure that she is attracted to me.

But why?

She knows that I’m married and I am very faithful to my wife even if she is miles away.

“You’re hired Miss James, congratulations. Your salary will be $100,000 with a office car and an apartment which is already ready. Here is your car keys it is patked at the underground garage.” I told her and she smiled brightly.

“Thank you so much Mr King, you will never regret this, thank you” She told me, I hand over the car keys to her and she grabbed it.

“I hope so.” I mumbled and went back to my seat.

I picked up the telephone and oressed I to my ear.

📞Come in,side my office immediately📞

I dropped the phone and glanced at Penny again.

She still clenched her legs.

F**k.

A small knock came on the door and Kate my Secretary walk in.

“Me King, you asked for me.” She said and I nods.

“Here is Miss James, our new accountant. Show her her office and the necessary things to know.” I said to her.

“Okay sir, let’s go Miss James.”

“Thank you so much Mr King, you have my word from earlier.” Penny said and made to stand up but quickly sat back.

I raise an eyebrow and she smiled.

“Sorry.” She mouthed and stood up.

She walk out with kate and I sigh.

She is pretty, very pretty. But there’s just something about her.

Something that is bothering her but she acted like it ain’t bothering her.

Penny’s POV:

The scene in Bryce’s office left me speechless.

He……..the close proximity.

The tension…..s€×ual tension.

You did well back there Penny.

Back there whenever he says word it goes straight to my core.

Yes, he affects me that much.

Am I going crazy? I shouldn’t be crushing or lusting after that man.

Kate pushed a door open and I stare in bewildment. Is this going to be my office?

“Here is your office Miss James.”

“Just call me Penny.” I told her with a smile. The blonde woman smile back and entered fully in,side the office.

“Oh my God, this place is heaven. 10 times better that my previous office. No twenty times.” I said in shock.

A car, $100,000 salary, a free apartment.

What else do I ask for?

This is great.
My life is about to return to normal.

I can finally move out of Bryce’s mansion then stop working at the cafe.

“Thank you Kate,but I can manage right now. I guess I have a lot of works already.” I said and pointed to the h¡p of files on the desk.

“Alright then, call me if you need anything.” She said and walk away.

Now first day at work.
