I smirked as I watched the expression on dad’s face and the scared look on her face.

“My plan worked” I thought… The idiot thinks she could win our hearts by cooking our favorites.

I’m so smart… I thought and smiled secretly. The food is really delicious and it tastes just like granny’s own I must admit but I can’t let her know I enjoyed it.

I stopped chewing the food in my mouth when I heard dad.

Dad what’s wrong? I asked pretending not to know he did that because the food is too salty as a result of my handwork.

I smirked and looked at the nanny, she smirked too as our eyes met which made me wonder why, I hope it’s not what I’m thinking.

Sir what’s wrong, are you okay? She asked worriedly.

Yeah I’m fine, I’m just surprised how it tasted just like my mom’s, you really are a great chef.

Thanks for making this sumptuous meal, I’m really enjoying it. He said and continued eating.

“Thanks for the compliment sir, I’m glad you like it” she replied with a broad smile on her face.

She smirked as she saw the disappointed and angry look on my face.

Dad are you sure the food is perfect? I asked to be sure

Yeah it is, how do you mean? He replied as he drank water.

You mean the sauce isn’t too much? The salt and maggi isn’t excessive? I asked again.

Not at all you need to learn how to eat this local food, it gives more energy, wait! why are you asking is yours too saucy? he replied

Not at all, I’m just asking to be sure you’re not over hyping this lady here… I said

Little miss, my name’s Michelle so don’t just call me Lady like I’m some sort of stranger. She corrected and I shot her a glare which she returned.

This lady is really courageous, she isn’t even afraid of me one bit, I guess it’s because dad’s cool with her…. I thought

No I’m fine baby, I’m not over hyping her, I’m just saying the truth so continue your food and stop talking while eating… He said

I’m through sir you asked me to come see you when I’m through… She said to dad as she returned from the kitchen and I eyed her.

Yeah I wanna ask how you got the ingredients you prepared the food with because I know they weren’t in the house before. He said

I purchased them sir, she replied

Oh! Never mind sir that wouldn’t be necessary… I watched her reply with a smile.

I wonder why she smiles all the time tho.

I insist you forward it, I wanna repay you for your service. I really enjoyed the food and I see my daughter also enjoyed hers… Dad said car-ssing my cheek but I rolled my eyes instead.

I wonder why dad likes people easily not minding where they come from.

I’m sure you’ve never received such a huge amount of money in your account, because I’m sure dad doesn’t send little money to people…I said as I walked past her but she blocked my path

“Learn to be mindful of your speech it’s what almost got mW in trouble yesterday, remember I’m not your mate so don’t talk to me anyhow”. She said as she twisted l-ips…

Ouch! I cried looking at dad but he looked elsewhere immediately our eyes met. I’m powerless because dad’s taking her side…

🌞Days Later🌞

I didn’t come home with dad today so I was in the sitting room waiting patiently for him to arrive so I’ll tell him the news about the quiz competition I won for my class in school.

I decided to watch Nickelodeon, my favorite TV channel. So I was engrossed with it by the time he arrived,

“Welcome back dad” I greeted as I threw myself around him.

Thank you so much my lovely daughter, you look over excited today what’s the deal. He asked noticing the enthusiasm in me

Yeah! Dad I won the inter class quiz competition we had in school today, I won it for my class.

Wow! That’s a great news, I trust my daughter to be the overall best student, I know my daughter is a genius and for that you’ll have a bowl of ice cream as a gift for being the winner. Dad said and I blushed

I’ve got something to tell you too, it isn’t a good news neither is it a bad one but I’m sure you won’t like it…. He added.

Alright just drop the bombshell already, I’m anxious… I said

Welcome back sir, the Nanny greeted him thereby causing interruption to our conversation.

Thanks, he replied and gave her the briefcase she requested for by stretching her hand.

I’ll be going on a business trip in two days time, I’m sorry for not telling you in advance, it came up suddenly… He said and my leer changed immediately

I’m so sorry dear, I promise to make it up to you when I return and guess what? Granny said she’ll be coming over next weekend so we’ll definitely hang out… He said but I’m still not pleased with it.

I need you to take good care of her, it’s an order from me. Nothing should happen to her and she mustn’t lack anything, she’s all i have and the reason why I’m going on this business trip…I work because of her so make sure you take good care of her… He said to the Nanny before finally entering the car.

“Yes Sir” she said with a bow as usual and other workers bowed too. I waved at him with tears welled up in my eyes.

I miss him already and I so much wish I had a mother here to Keep my company. the thought alone made me burst out crying.

I ignored everyone that came to console me, as I kept my face buried in my pillow.

I didn’t even know when sleep took over me, all I knew was that is woke up the following morning.

I took my bath and hurriedly dressed up for school. I went to the kitchen to prepare my cereal because I didn’t want anything to do with the Nanny not even to eat the food she prepared.

Why the hell did you not get another pack when you know this is about to finish? I yelled at rose the maid I asked to be cooking my meal till the chef returns.

I poured the remaining content in the bowl and prepared the with the milk.

Why didn’t you eat the food I served on the table? The nanny asked me as she saw me preparing it.

I ignored her instead and went to return the milk pack to the cupboard.

I climbed down from the stood I supported my self with and went to eat my cereal.

I shove the first spoon into my mouth but stopped when I notice it isn’t good.

I looked at the Nanny’s face and saw her raise one finger each with her two hands

what the hell did you do to my cereal!!!! I yelled as I spat the content out.

She only smirked and said it’s a payback adding salt to the meal she prepared for dad the other day.

Aaaaaargh!!! I gro-ned in frustration, I’m tired of this godforsaken Nanny
