Chapter 25

AT THE HOSTEL
“Just a little touchups, we’ll be through, Roseanna will be back any moment from now” Kalila says, placing the food on the table .
The room is decorated with a birthday atmosphere.
“Perfect!” Diana shouts delighted as she giggles, “Roseanna is sure gonna love this!”

(Jason drives into the hostel and packs his car. Turning off his ignition switch, he alighted the car. He opens again the back door for Roseanna in which she comes down. They walk up the hostel staircase, towards her room).
Roseanna opens the door but everywhere is pitch dark, she couldn’t look through, she faces Jason.
“Why is everywhere so dark, does it mean Kalila and Diana has gone to bed?”, Jason shrugs as he too looks inside.
“But it is not yet too late, they hardly sleep by this time…” she utters.
“Why don’t you go in first?” Jason suggested. Roseanna nods her head and walks inside.
Immediately, the light lit on and birthday music was heard from the background. Each of them came out of their hiding place, smiling brightly.
“Happy birthday Roseanna!!!” they all screamed out which jerks off the dazzled Roseanna.
Roseanna looks round the room, thrilled and stunned about the surprises and decorations, she grins widely. “Awwwn, thank you!!!”
She hugs each one of them, grinning widely.
“Come over” Diana says pulling Roseanna towards the table where they had set the meal. She sits Roseanna down and drew the food closer to her.
They sat down too round the table. Diana looks up and still sees Jason standing. “Will you keep on standing there?”

The whole friends gather and dined together, chatting and making jokes amongst themselves till they were done with eating.
“Thank you all for everything, you made my day special.. ”
“7:54 pm”
Time to return back, Jason and his friends leave the room and the hostel though still on a cheerful mood.
Roseanna escorts them out towards their cars, but she stood behind Jason’s car.
“Thank you once again…”
“You’re welcome” Jason said with a smile, putting his hands into his pocket, he brings out a small box and gives it to her.
“This is for you…” he paused for a while trying to remember something. “Yeah… Anytime you wish to visit your grandparents, please let me know….”
Roseanna nods before Jason enters his car and start the ignition. Both looked at each other and smiles again before Jason drove out.
Roseanna waves her hands till he was out of sight, since Nicole and Charles had gone before him. She then walk back to the hostel in a light mood.

Chapter 26

It’s past few weeks and students were still on holidays. Lea intends to visit Starlet, she texts ‘See you soon at your house in a few hours time.
Few hours later
Lea dresses up in a blue t-shirt gown after she had applied her makeup on her face. She wears a Smart watch and a dropping earring. Putting her feet into the black ankle boots and slings her purse on her shoulder. Picking up the keys, she walks down to her car and drives out of the house.
Lea drives for one hour thirty minutes and finally reached Starlet house. She knocks on the door but no response, she knocks three times consecutively but yet Starlet didn’t open the dooyou
Luckily, Lea has the spare key to the door and she opens the door. No longer a visitor again, she sat down on the sofa and picked up the remote, switching on the television.
Sounds from the television are heard which wakes Starlet up who was asleep, not aware of Lea’s presence. She rubs her eyes tiredly, she stretches her body and yawns.
“Hey!” Starlet called out to Lea who removing her gaze from the television, looked at her. “What’s up?” Lea asks seeing Starlet looking so fatigued.
“Nothing really, I mean it looks like I am sick, I’ve been feeling feverish for sometime now though I am on medication”.
“Here she goes again, self medication… Starlet… How long will I tell you to quit self medication and go for medical checkup?” She asks Starlet who kept on yawning.
“For how long have you been taking those drugs?”
“It’s getting to two weeks now” Starlet uttered.
“Two weeks? Starlet yelled, “And you haven’t gone for che…”
“I know…” Starlet says cutting her short from her sentence. “I will go next week I promise”
Lea looks at Starlet for a while finding what to say. “Fatigue, dizziness, nausea?” Starlet nods which puts Lea is thought for a while, she scratches her head.
Starlet coughs and hurriedly ran over to the visitor’s toilet and threw it up. Soon she came back and sat down lazily.
Lea watched her while she sat down. “When did you last see Alvin?”
“Uhm, four weeks ago, precisely a month ago”.
“Well I will not draw or say anything, I will just advice you to go for a checkup” Starlet nods to what Lea had just said, she laid her head on the sofa and decides to rest.
Lea sees the asleep Starlet and shrugs. She stands up and heads over to the fridge, taking a strawberry smoothie and some cookies, she walks back and seat on her desk.

Chapter 27

Next Weekend*******
(Morning)
Roseanna packs her bag into the boot of Jason’s Sienna together with some items she had specially bought for her grandparents with the aid of Kalila and Diana.
She closes the boot and comes over to the passenger door of the Sienna.
Roseanna is dressed in a white collar shirt and a flared horizontal striped red and black check skirt with a few linings of blue on it.
Jason who had been seated waiting for her sees her enter the back door.
“Good morning, ready?…” Jason asks Roseanna who nods. He started the ignition after steaming up the car engine.
Jason puts on his seat belt and Roseanna quickly does same. Kalila and Diana waves at them as the car slowly moves out of the hostel.
“Bye!! See you later!!!”. Soon the car was out of sight.
Jason drives out of the outskirts of the city on the journey to Roseanna’s home. They talked minimal but never ceases to look at each other.
The driving took for about three hours before they could finally get to the village. Roseanna was so happy, finally she gets to see her grandparents again and breathe the natural fresh air of the village.
Jason packs at the front of the semi-thatched house and switches off the ignition key.
Roseanna hurriedly alighted the car and closes the door behind her. “Home!” she smiles brightly.
Jason who had also alighted the car looks around, he looks at Roseanna and smiles too. He walks and stands behind her.
“Welcome to my home!” Roseanna says turning to him who nods.
“Your grandparents around?” Jason asked surprised to see everywhere so damn quiet.
“Nah they won’t be around by now, but I know certainly where they are” Roseanna says as she goes over to a window. Bringing out the key, she opens the door.
They both walk inside the house. Jason seats on the chair while Roseanna walks over to the kitchen.
Looking round the house, Jason smiles. No matter how small the house was, it was just sparkling clean and the little furnitures orderly arranged.
Roseanna knowing too well that by then, her grandma hasn’t had her breakfast, so she prepared a light meal for everyone.
Serving Jason his own meal, she gently puts her grandparents own in a basket.
“Are you coming with me?” Roseanna asks Jason but without waiting for a response, she concluded. “Certainly not, you aren’t, so…”
Jason pauses and looks at her. “Why do you think I will say no?”
“Many reasons, your first time coming, your dressing, your kind of person…”
” Fourth?” Jason asks, counting the reasons she gave.
“You may not like to go, probably your answer is no!”
Jason chuckles, he looks down but looks back at her. ” And what if I said yes, because that is not enough reasons to say no… So… I am going”
Roseanna widens her eyes in surprise. She picks up her basket and heads towards the door while Jason wears his over coat following her.

Chapter 28
Continuation from the last episode;
Roseanna locks the house, dropping the key at the window and gently closes it.
She walks down to the farm which was three miles away from the house together with Jason.
Finally reaching the farm, Roseanna walks towards where her grandma was picking out some vegetables to be used for lunch. She lowers her basket to the ground to join her grandma, taking the vegetables from her hands, she puts it in a basket.
“Grandma, you’ve done enough, I will help you with the rest!”
The grandma was startled at first, she then looks up, ” Oh Rose, you are here?”
“Yes grandma and I have brought your breakfast, am sure you haven’t had any yet!” Roseanna takes up the basket and hands over to her.
“Thank you my daughter”
Roseanna continues picking up vegetables and some fruits.
“I will go and see grandpa now” Roseanna says taking the basket of fruits and vegetables”
Roseanna walks out of the farm and meet Jason who follows her.

(KALILA S HOME)
“Katrina, come here!” Kalila shouts at her younger sister who runs round the house playing while eating.
She runs after her after placing the food on the table. Getting hold of her, she pulls her slowly while the little girl chuckles. “I’m gonna run again!”
“Don’t you!” Kalila almost screamed.
Kalila mom who stood I. between the kitchen and the dinning room smiles.
“I’m sure your younger sister misses you, that’s why…” The mom says walking towards them, she drops a glass of milk on the table.
“Please ensure she drinks it after her meal” She said “I will get going”
“Bye!!!”

(ON THE WAY TO THE RIVERSIDE)
Roseanna strolls along with Jason towards the river to meet her grandfather.
“I’m sorry I didn’t come to meet your grandmother, that’s improper you know because I didn’t do anything” Jason apologies.
“Like you knew, well… apologies accepted”
It didn’t stop them from their discussion before they reached the riverside.
