Chapter 46

Jason drives into the school and was just passing by when he sees Starlet car packed in Fr of Roseanna’s hostel.
He doesn’t know what was happening but he quickly climbs up the stairs up to her room.
Reaching her room, he paused. Why was he here? What was his business with Roseanna now that they were no longer together.
He hears screams from inside which h
jerks him off from thought.

“Say your last prayer, Roseanna!” Starlet says driving the knife towards Roseanna’s stomach.
Gasps!!
“A-a-a-h-h-h” Roseanna screamed as she dodges the penetration of the knife.
Holding the knife with her hands, Starlet struggles to take it off from her but it pierces her hand which made her release her grip off the knife.
“Ouch!!”

“That must be Starlet voice and what is she doing in there?” Jason quickly opens the door.
Roseanna takes the knife from Starlet and points it towards her, breathing heavily.
“If you dare come any closer, I’m going to hurt you!!”
Starlet advances, not minding her own pregnancy till the knife was in direct contact with her.
She tears her wrist for the blood ooze out.
Jason runs to Starlet and held her hand while she pretends to cry.
“She hurt me!! S- she wants t-to… hurt our baby!” she said pointing at Roseanna who is still holding the knife in confusion.
Jason reaches her and hugs her.
“She will wouldn’t do that…”
“She would have… if you haven’t come on time…”
Jason sighs and looks at Roseanna who looks away…
“Sir, take her!!” Lea comes in with some police.
They quickly handcuffed her “Ma’am, you are under arrest for attempted mur*der”.

Kalila had just bought the drugs and reached the hostel where she hears some noises.
‘Classes aren’t over yet… Then why am I…?’
She hurries over to the direction of the noise and finds out it was coming out from her room.
“Roseanna!!”
She runs and paused as she gasps.
She sees Roseanna being handcuffed and pulled away, she wants to scream but covers her mouth.
Taking a deep breath, she walks over to one of the police.
“Sir please, let…”
“Young lady, we are only performing our duty and we ensure that things are being carried out rightly… So please move aside!”.
Roseanna looks at Jason in tears but he kept mute. Though he had a soft spot for her but he saw what had happened, she pointed the knife at Starlet.
Diana runs, holding the police by the leg.
“Sir please, just understand that she is pregnant… Roseanna wouldn’t even hurt a fly more or less a human… a pregnant lady in that case”
But the police gave no impression nor reply.
Diana looks at Starlet who stands beside Jason with hatred in her eyes, she then looks at Jason.
She walks over to him, looking at him straight into his eyes.
“Wow… Look at him… Feeling so free and undisturbed by what is taking place… You wouldn’t even say or do anything but keeping quiet like a dumbass.
Yet Jason didn’t reply. Roseanna is put into the police van in tears.

Jason takes Starlet to the car after she had been applied some First Aid treatment.
Kalila hurries to catch up with him.
” Wait!”
Jason turns and sees Kalila coming, he paused and faces her.
“So you’re actually leaving… You’re really leaving… Acting like nothing happened… This is so unfair Jason… So unfair!!” Tears drops down her cheeks.
“Roseanna had loved you so deeply and weren’t against it and this is what she gets for her love? If only we knew, we could have avoided everything related to both you and Starlet… Y-o-u didn’t even mind her pregnancy caused by! You’re such a…”
” Enough!!” Jason yells almost infuriated at the last sentence of Kalila.
” Just Enough!!”. He squeezes his fist and tightened his lips before letting a sigh with a gritted teeth.
He walks past her to the driver’s door.
“Please!!.
Lea walks over to Kalila beaming with a mischievous smile.
” What did you gain by having Nicole to yourself or Roseanna having Jason?” She paused “Nothing….! I just want to tell you that you haven’t seen everything yet!!”
” Tut-tut-tut” She shakes her head sideways sarcastically. Walking to the passenger seat, she enters.
” See you later love…” She said that throwing mockery kisses in the air.
Jason turns on the ignition and moving back a bit, he drives out.

Few minutes later, Kalila is still standing outside, she was really surprised by the turnout of the incident. Tears well up in her eyes and soon streaks down her cheeks.
“What actually happened?” Diana who stands behind her, though quiet for a while.
” I don’t know…” Kalila sighs and faces her.
” Everything that just happened was a surprise to me. I just came back and witnessed all this just like you did. I feel so useless… I couldn’t help Roseanna!” She sniffs.
” All these happened because of Jason and yet he couldn’t do anything! He just watched and kept mute like a dumbass!!” She gritted her teeth.
” I swe@r he would pay for this!!”
“Roseanna needs our care and attention right now in her condition… The police wouldn’t even understand that…”
“Why would they… When they’ve been blinded by Starlet’s money!! ” Diana said almost screaming.
” I just hope she will be alright… I will have to visit her tomorrow.
She sighs and walks inside sadly.

Jason was no longer himself as he got more confused about the situations around him. He felt his heart aches each time he remembers Roseanna but every evidence was pointing against her!

The following Morning
Kalila and Diana visits the station bringing with them, Roseanna food and drugs.
Roseanna is behind bars, crying sadly. Her mates in the cell understood her condition more or less she was never a problem to them as they gave her enough space.
Kalila and Diana enters the station, taking permission from the police in charge, they walks to where she was. Seeing Roseanna in tears made them deeply sad.
Squatting besides Roseanna, they gave her the meal and her drugs.
“I don’t want to eat!” Roseanna moves her face from them, turning sideways.
“Not this time again Rosie… Please just do this for your…”
“Don’t remind me! I am going through all this because of this unborn child and I should still care?… I told you I am not hungry… I don’t have the appetite!!” Roseanna said sniffing.
“Stop being stubborn Rosie! Just stop it … You missed your medication yesterday and you don’t want to eat today? You are doing yourself no good… At least for the sake of your child” Kalila consoled.
Roseanna whimpers as she touched her stomach, her heart was bitter but the truth was told… She had to take care of her unborn child. She took the meal from them and ate slowly before taking her drugs.
Kalila and Diana stayed with her until they time finally elapsed.
“I promise you… I will try my best to bring you out of here…”

Bryan had heard of what had happened, he felt sorry as he decides to g
also go and visit her, precisely maybe release her from there.
He walks into the police station and goes over to the police on deck.
“Good day sir!”
“Good day” The police said, looking at him.
“Umm… I came to bail Roseanna…”
“Roseanna who?”
“Roseanna Galvin”
The police removes his glasses and smiled knowing who she was.
“And why do think you can bail her out?”
“Sir…”
“Mr. Man I beg of you… Starlet is a very known person in this city and you can’t even release anyone she puts in here because your money will be of no use” he paused, looking at him and breathing deeply, he continues.
“I understand you and feel sorry for Roseanna but everything was pointing out that she was involved in an @ttempted murdër but if you want to release her… You need to get the actual evidence!”.

Jason’s House
Jason ruffles his hair as he tried to type on the computer but he couldn’t. One thing or the other left him to remember Roseanna. He was just typing and a word suggested Roseanna.
He palms the computer and sighs. Shutting down the computer, he stands up. He hopes to disentangle himself completely from her this time but he had to visit her too.
Packing his car at the packing space, he walks inside the station to the police on deck.
“Whom do you want to see?”
“Roseanna Galvin!”
“Ohh” the police man smiled again. “She seems to be our prison celebrity… just this morning, a two ladies came visiting, a guy too… it hadn’t been long he just left” he said pointing at direction in which he left.
Jason sighed, guessing him to be Bryan. He was given the place where Roseanna was.
He walks in there, looking at each cells, before reaching Roseanna’s. He looks at her and let out a sigh bed squatting besides her.

Luxury Restaurant
Nicole is seated on a chair, he was operating his phone while been served a glass of juice.
Starlet and Lea walks into the restaurant and seats opposite of Nicole not aware that he was there.
“You did a great job Lea… I wasn’t even expecting you at that moment…” Starlet commented.
“Yeah, that was the best I could do because it would be very wrong to ki*ll Roseanna at that point as it will only arouse suspicion which is definitely not good”.
Nicole hears their conversation, he listens the more knowing the discussion was about Roseanna.
“Remember that our main plan is for Jason not to know that he is responsible for Roseanna’s pregnancy and not yours.
Nicole widens his eyes in surprised, letting his phone fall to the table.

Police Station
Roseanna felt someone’s presence and looks up, her face wet from tears with her hair plastered on her face… She held the iron bars.
“Please tell them I-I-I didn’t do anything… You know the truth… You saw everything that happened… Please!!” Roseanna pleaded.
Jason stares at her, short of words as he couldn’t say anything. He went blank spaced.
Roseanna releasing her hand from the bars, gently rested it on Jason.
“Please… I wouldn’t dare or attest to ki*ll anybody. it’s was Starlet who wanted to…I only took the knife from her… Jason… s-she wanted to h-harm o-u…”
“Enough…” He closed his eyes and gritted his teeth before letting out a loud sigh.
“I didn’t come for your story… Roseanna because if you were to ask me… I definitely not believe a word you say because I saw you clearly and Starlet told me everything… she only came to render an apology!”.
” It’s not true… it’s not true!!” Fresh tears flows from Roseanna’s eyes, her heart hurts the most.
“You pointed the knife directly at Starlet” he said trying not to get emotional.
Roseanna sniffs “Please let me explain!”
“I don’t need your explanation Roseanna… it’s clear to me now” he says standing up, turning to leave.
Roseanna watches Jason leave, she couldn’t believe all this was happening. She was weakened.
“Starlet wanted to use the knife on me!! She planned to hurt our baby” she said almost whispering which Jason heard.
Jason who had just walked a little further paused and looks back at where Roseanna was.
