Chapter 48

Luxury Restaurant
Nicole shocked by what he had just heard, sat blank. He was aware that Jason and Roseanna were having a hard time together and there was a breach in their relationship.
He was having a double thought on what to do… Should he confront Starlet and Lea or go to meet Jason, knowing where he was and tell him the real truth and conspiracy.
‘No… Confronting them right now will be of no use because the deed is already done… All I have to do now is to meet Jason right away!’ He thought to himself.
He covers his face with his hood, standing up from his chair, he briskly walks out of there.

Starlet who had been discussing with Lea paused and looks at the direction Nicole had just taken.
“What is wrong?” Lea asked confused by her expression.
“I’m sensing someone overheard us and…”
“What do you mean?”
Instead of a reply, Starlet stands up and hurriedly walks out pulling her bag with her.
“Just be careful Starlet… Remember you’re pregnant tho!”

Alvin had been trying to reach out to Starlet for some weeks now but she always cuts him off.
He had decided to accept his responsibility as Starlet unborn child father but it seems like she is avoiding him.
He packs his car at ‘Luxury Restaurant’ knowing her favorite restaurant spot.
“Starlet!” He exclaims as he sees her, he approaches her.
Starlet who had noticed someone overhearing their discussion, was running to her car to meet up with the car that just left the vicinity.
“No… This shouldn’t be happening!” She uttered trying to open her car door.
“Starlet!” Alvin said, held her hand reaching out to her.
Starlet turns to see who was that and frowns her face seeing Alvin.
“How can I help you?” She asks.
“I only came to…”
Starlet sighs impatiently, “Look here, Alvin… You can save such discussion maybe next time… Right now I need to leave immediately!”
“But it’s about our baby?”
” Baby? Did you just say our baby? ” Starlet scoffs. ” Psst, for goodness sake Alvin… You denied the pregnancy and now I don’t even need your responsibility as my child has another father! ”
Starlet pushing him aside, enters her car. Starting the ignition, she zooms off.

Alvin stood there surprised by her statement. With his hand in his pocket, he walks back to his car to catch up with Starlet.
‘Something fishy is going on’.

Few minutes later
Lea who had been seated in the restaurant, sighs looking up from her phone
She checks the time for the second time, she should have received a call from Starlet but she isn’t even picking up her phone calls.
Standing up from where she was, she walks out heading towards her car.
“Lea! Wait!!” A feminine voice said which made her to pause and look back.
Kalila hurries to meet her. “Lea… I want to talk to you!!”
“About what?” Lea asks rather inpatient.
Kalila breathes in deeply as she looks straight into Lea’s eyes.
“L-e-a”
Confused by her facial expression sighs, she looks around.
“Can we talk in the car?” Kalila asks.
“What’s wrong if you say it here?”
“No… It’s something really important…”
Lea rolls her eyes several times. “Look, if this is about Roseanna then I can’t listen…”
Kalila tightened up her lips and shakes her head for a no.
“Okay” Lea walks over to her car and sat down which Kalila follows suit.
“Please be quick about it… I need to catch up with time” Lea uttered glancing at her wrist watch.
“Do you remember me?” Kalila asks lowering her head before turning back to Lea.
“Of course… You’re Roseanna’s friend or do I look like someone who had lost her memory?”
“No” Kalila sighs, bringing out three pictures from her purse and hands it over to Lea.
Lea curiously takes the pictures and looks at each one of it.
“Do did have any sister while you were younger?” Kalila questions.
Lea squint her eyes and releases it, looking straight at Kalila.
” How did you get these pictures?”
Kalila closes her eyes not wanting tears to drop down, she sighs deeply.
” My elder sister got a*bducted at her 10 year old birthday which kept us in chaos. Years and years went by and we kept on looking for her and after everything… We concluded that she was gone!” she sniffs.
Taking a picture from Lea’s hand, she looks at it.
” I guess she’s grown up now” She said smiling but rather tears drops down her cheeks.
Lea looked at Kalila and got emotional, she felt a kind of bond between them as her eyes too get watery.
“Lea… do you remember when you call me ‘Lila’, how we play at the swing, how you taught me to swim or how we both fight over chocolate?”
Lea now understanding what Kalila was talking about, finally let the tears stream down her cheeks.
“How I joked with your name, calling you Vanilla” Lea said smiling.
“Sis-ter!”

Police Station
“Starlet wanted to use the knife on me!! She planned to hurt our baby!!!”
The statement kept on ringing in Jason’s ear as he looks at Roseanna who was crying.
“W-h-a-t -do- you -mean?” Jason stammers.
Roseanna tightened her lips as more tears flows from her eyes.
“Starlet planned to hurt our baby!”
“And how do you think I would believe what you are saying?” Jason scoffs not ready to believe any lies again.
There was silence as Roseanna couldn’t talk further.
“She’s right… Jason!” A voice said standing behind him.

Chapter 49
Continuation from the last chapter:
“She is right… Jason” A voice said standing behind him.
Jason turns to see who it was.
Placing his hand on Jason’s shoulder, Nicole smiles but frowns back.
“I overheard Starlet and Lea conversation just few moments ago and that is why I hurriedly came to meet you’.
He looked straight into Jason’s eyes.
“Jason… it was all a conspiracy against Roseanna…” He takes a deep breathe.
“You’re not even responsible for Starlet pregnancy!!” he bombed out.
Jason shuddered in shock, slack jawed in widen gaze.
“That’s not true!!” Starlet says running in the bid to hug Jason but he moves back.
“That’s not true Jason… See..!” Rubbing her protruded stomach, she tries to cry.
“See I’m pregnant… I’m pregnant for our child Jason…”
Jason stares at her then to Nicole who shakes his head.
Starlet held his hand, “Jason… Remember what happened that night… how…”
“Nothing happened between you both” Alvin added as he steps in. He walks towards Jason.
” Yeah… Something happened but not between the both of you… Starlet was pregnant before then which I was responsible for… at that time I denied it and then she had to make you feel guilty! ”
Jason who was dumbstruck at the turnout of things, glared at Starlet.
“Is that true?”
“It’s not true… Jason, don’t believe what ever they are saying… They are all ganging up against me!!”
Alvin chuckles, “Really? Is this the reason you said our child has another father?”
Jason totally infuriated, gripped Starlet hands forcefully. “So this is it uh?”
Starlet cries but didn’t say anything.
Jason releasing his grip from her, lands her a thunderous slap on her face.
“It’s not true!!” Starlet screams holding her right cheek.
“It’s true Jason!!” Lea said, stepping in. “I’m sorry for everything that has happened between you and Roseanna… it’s all my fault!!”
Starlet turns to see who it was and was surprised to see Lea.
“You too? You’re also supporting them? You’re against me, Lea?” Starlet asks too surprised to see things turning back against her.
“I am!.. You made me turn this way… You made me be your friend and possess your characters too… That I had to be against my own sister!! You made me cause Kalila pain!!”
At that point, Kalila and Diana walks in.
Starlet was in shock. “You’re… K-ka-li-la’s sister?”.
Diana walks over to Starlet, raising her hand up in the air, she slaps her.
“How dare you!!”
Kalila eyes well up with tears though she tried to smile. She looks at Roseanna and gasps.
“Roseanna!!” Leaving where she was, she ran over to the cell.
Roseanna who was weak from crying her heart out was gradually losing consciousness as she was falling to the floor where she was seated.
“Roseanna!!”
The police warden quickly rushes in. Taking the key, he quickly opens the bar doorway.
Jason immediately goes in, squatting to Roseanna’s level, he carries her out.
“Quick!… Let’s take her to a nearby hospital!!”
They all rushed out of the station. Putting Roseanna at the back seat of Jason’s car. Kalila sat at the front, while Jason drives out.
Others except Starlet and Alvin take Nicole car, driving to the hospital.
Starlet watches, she feels bad as her plans had caught up with her. Her only last prayer is that Roseanna nor the baby would survive.
Alvin grips her hand with force, dragging her roughly which jerks Starlet off from her thought.
“Come with me!!”
“Where are you taking me to?” Starlet asks trying to release his grip from her hand.
“I said… Come with me!!”
“How d@re you! Get your flïrty hands off me!!” She slaps his hand but he held her more firmly.
“Ouch!” Starlet exclaims holding her stomach.
Instead of reasoning with her, Alvin opens his car door, pushing her inside and locked the door. He head over the driver’s seat, turning on the ignition, he drives out of there.

Few minutes later
Alvin arrives at his house, horning at the gate which was then opened while he drives in.
“Why did you bring me here?” Starlet fumes looking around.
Alvin smirks, ” To take care of your while you’re pregnant… Younno”
” I don’t need your help!!” she scoffs.
” Well you do and you can’t deny that”
” I prefer Jason!”
That angers Alvin, he glared at her at her. Raising his hand, he slaps her.
” Don’t you ever compare me to him… do you get that?”
Starlet in shock looks at him.
” For now you’re under my roof and anything I say… You must do!!”
Pulling her by the hand, he walks into his house.

Glory Land Hospital
Roseanna is quickly placed on a stretcher and rolled into the ward with Jason and others following at the back.
“You can’t come in now” The nurse says closing the door behind them .
Roseanna body is cold as she is placed on drip and oxygen as test is being conducted on her by the doctors.
Kalila sits near the door as tears drop down her cheeks.
“Roseanna had gone through alot… What has she done to deserve all this. Rosie… I just hope you’re gonna be okay…” She said sniffing.
