Chapter 57

At The Hospital
Roseanna opens her eyes gradually, seeing the brightness of the day made her smile. She tries to sit up and realized she wasn’t pregnant again.
“What… has…” Then she looks around and sees an elderly man carrying a baby beaming with smile.
“Oh… you’re awake” He exclaims.
Roseanna nods still smiling. The man walks towards her and hand over her baby to her.
“This is your baby… You passed out last night on the road, so we could do nothing but to help”
” Thank you so much sir” Roseanna utters with much gratitude.
” Uhm… It’s actually nothing…” He pauses, ” What had happened yesterday… You were alone at that lonely hour and at such critical condition?”
Tears well up in Roseanna’s eyes as past incidents that led her to where she is played by.
“Oh… I’m sorry if I kinda made you remember…”
“No-no-no… There is nothing wrong with what you have just asked… It’s nothing!” Roseanna interrupted him sniffing.
“I think I will have to leave you alone now with your baby…” The old man says standing up.
“If you need anything else from me please let me know…”
Roseanna nods her head smiling as he leaves the ward.

CARVAS’ MANSION
“Daddy!!” Alicia runs down the stairs to meet her dad, pulling in for a hug!”.
Brandon gladly returns her hug reciprocating.
“Yeah… How are you doing?” He asked as both walks into the sitting room.
“I’m not fine!” She said pouting while folding her hand.
Brain chuckles remembering why she said that. “Sorry if I had made you go home just like that… Even using the public taxi…” He looks at his daughter and smiles.
“But we have to do what was right at that time due to her emergency situation and so there was definitely nothing else than what I did…”
“But daddy, you were not the only one that saw her…”
“It’s okay Alicia… I understand… but I just did what was right” Brandon said stroking hid utter interrupting his daughter’s sentence.
“So is daddy forgiven?” He asks smiling.
“Yes… Apology accepted!!” They chattered between themselves and laughing at the silly joke.
“Good morning!!” Natalie says coming out of the kitchen as she dries her hand on the hand towel she was holding.
“Morning!” Brandon replies his sister with a slight hug.
Alicia frowned looking at Natalie.
“Uhm… Daddy… Can I get to my room?” She asks her father who nods talking to his sister.
Since she was accepted back into the family, Natalie was the only one who didn’t welcome her. She believed that totally that she wasn’t truly her brother lost daughter and she hates Alicia so much for her attitude even from the first day she came.
“I can’t believe I’ve finally found my lost daughter… After eighteen good years of searching!” Brandon told his sister as they discussed in the sitting room.
Natalie looks at her brother without saying anything, she looks at the place Alicia had just walked.
“What is it with that look on your face?” He asks confused by his sister facial expression.
“And how sure are you that she is actually your long lost daughter when there is actually no prove for now?”
“I know and I felt it the first moment she had stepped her leg into this place… And yes she also remembers her memory… The incident that took place before the plane crash!”
” Is that enough reasons for you to believe that she is actually your daughter?” Natalie asks almost getting flared up.
Alicia walks downstairs through the sitting room, going outside. She is dressed in a bodycon clothing kinda revealing with a high peeptoe heel and a designers bag. She passed without saying anything.
“And where do you think you are going?” Natalie says interrupting her movement.
“I’m going out… Do you see anything with that? Or am I not allowed her go out again?” Alicia asks sardonically, rolling her eyes severally showing lack of respect.
“Uh… Are you…?” Natalie asks surprised with a squinted eye glare.
“Let her be… She can take care of herself!” Brandon says.
Thank you Daddy!!” She says as she pecks him on his cheek.
“And see you later aunt…” She smiles smugly.
‘She has a kind of an attitude!’ Natalie scoffs as Alicia walks out.
“Why do you always side her?… All of the time she goes out most at times without permission and she never dressed properly!!” Natalie asks her brother who was sipping a cup of coffee.
Brandon didn’t reply nor look at her.
“How about the DNA test that is supposed to be conducted this week?” She asks.
“Yea… Yeah… Surely… It’s gonna be done… ” Brandon replies absentmindedly.
Natalie sighs at her brother lack of interest towards the DNA test as he solely believes that Alicia was his daughter.
“I think I know what to do!” Natalie muttered to herself. She stands up and heads back to the kitchen kitchen to finish what she was doing.
Yeah she maybe the sister to the wealthiest person but that doesn’t stop her from doing what she is supposed to do especially when it comes to the kitchen and some other things.
“I know what to do… I will have to get the DNA results myself and get this golddigger out from this house!!”

Few Days Later
Roseanna’s is fully discharged from the hospital as Brandon pays for everything.
Roseanna had explained a little of her predicament to Brandon.
“You can stay in my house until you’re okay…” He told her.
“Thank you sir…”
“No for now call me father…” Brandon requested.
” But you already have a daughter…”

{Brandon Mansion}
” Let her stay at the boys quarter… My house is not for strange people like you!!” Alicia screams, pulling Roseanna’s out of the sitting room.
“Alicia!” Natalie calls out.
“Aunty… I can’t let her in here… That’s is it!”
” It was your father who let her in… and seriously I see nothing wrong with that… besides she had delivered… Stop stressing her!!” Natalie yells.
” Like seriously?” Alicia scoffs, rolling her eye. She picks her hand bag and walks upstairs to her room.
Natalie watch as she leaves to her room and turns to Roseanna.
“I’m sorry for any inconveniences she had said or done… please…” Natalie apologies.
” Oh no ma’am… I have no problem with that…”
Natalie looks at Roseanna clearly for the first time and smiles.
“Come with me!” She said carrying Roseanna’s baby as she led her to a room.
“This is your room for the meantime, make yourself comfortable and if you need anything, please let me know”
” Thank you”
” Yeah… and for the baby… am personally gonna be her nanny… It’s been long I held a little baby…” She said holding up the baby. She looks at the baby and smiles.
” Awwwn so cute… So beautiful than her mother!” Nathalie utters while Roseanna chuckles.

{Connor’s House}
“Jason… you’ve been quite all this while ever since you came back for holidays… Tell me what is going on?” Carolina, Jason’s mom questions Jason who was just blank spaced.
“Jason… Jason…!” Carolina called out worried. Placing her hand on Jason’s shoulder, she sighs.
“Jason… please talk to me… talk to your mom… your silence is getting me anxious…”
Instead of a reply, Jason stands up and heads over to his room.
“Jason!!”

Jason walks into his room, slamming the door behind his back in anger.
“Arghhhh!” He screams ruffling his hair.
“I’m sorry… I’m sorry Roseanna… I’ve done all I can to find you… it’s just feels like I have betrayed you… wherever you are… please find it in your heart to forgive me…” He sniffs as he sat down at the edge of his bed and lowered his head.
Carolina who had open her son’s door in fright when he screamed watched him from behind. She sighs, closing her eyes.
“Who is this Roseanna he is talking about…?”

{At The Hostel}
“Kalila you’ve not taken your meal since yesterday not even your drugs… I understand that you are worried about Roseanna but at least have something…” Lea urges Kalila who was lying on the bed looking feverish.
” How would I eat when Roseanna is no where to be found… It’s more than a month now or two but she is not here with us!! Who knows if she is okay… If she is safe… Where she is… Or… or… if she has finally given birth…”
She sniffs and sighs, ” My poor Rosie has gone through a lot and… and… I just want to know and see that’s she is okay!”
Lea sighs as she strokes Kalila’s back soothingly.
“It’s okay…”
“No it’s not! Roseanna is not here and you are saying it’s okay?… God please… Just show me a sign that my Rosie is okay and fine and then I will be happy once again…!”

{Brandon Mansion}
Roseanna shut the door soon as Natalie left her room with her baby as she was taking her to get some baby items for her.
She sighs as she palms her forehead walking over to the window side.
Roseanna loved the windows as she could stare at anything or think of something in emptiness. She looks outside the window into the garden in front, memories plays on her mind, she remembers Jason as tears well up, streaming down her cheeks.
Flashback
‘He doesn’t love you Roseanna… He only helped you due to your condition and after that he said he doesn’t want to see you again!…’
‘If he actually loved you… He would have come looking for you… It wouldn’t be a hard thing for him to do… darling’.
Roseanna sniffs and walks away from the window towards her bed where she sat down.
“You have a new life Roseanna… everything that has happened to you between the last few months is all past now… forget everything that you had with Jason…” She sniffs, dapping off the tears with her dress.
“You have to start afresh not with anyone but yourself and your baby… you’re a mom now… You’re a mother… You just have to be strong…”
