OH MY HEART (ROSEANNA)

Chapter 55

IN AN UNKNOWN BUILDING
“You always made my plans fail!… You took everything from me!! Even my own dear James!!… I hate you Roseanna… I hate you!!” Starlet screaming landing hard sla@ps on Roseanna’s face for each sentence she made.
“No matter how much I try… No matter how much I love Jason, he doesn’t see anything in me!! And is all because of you… Roseanna!!” She lashed out, sl@pping Roseanna hard on the face.
“Please… Pl..ea..see…” Roseanna whimpers. Her hair glued roughly on her face, she was unbearably in pain as though her cheeks were on fire. Her hands were chained and their was no way to soothe her burning face.
“Say one more word… Say just one more word Roseanna! I swe@r… I’m gonna beat the hêll out of you!” She yells pulling out a whip.
Roseanna mumbles in tears, she was definitely helpless. She thought of her baby and let the tears roll down freely.
Starlet smiles seeing Roseanna writh in pain, nothing pleases her more than seeing Roseanna suffering.
She lowers herself towards Roseanna and held her nêck, squeezing it.
“And this is for what Jason did to me in my own house… He even threatened me!!”
” Oww”
” Shhhh… Don’t just utter a sound or scream darling… You may hurt yourself if you do…!”
Roseanna tries her best to stop whimpering, her pretty face was swollen red due to the number of slaps she had received from Starlet and today wasn’t the first.
Squeezing her nêck a few more times, she releases her grip.
“I’m not done with you Roseanna… Because you will surely pay for everything you’ve caused and done to me!!” She took a deep breathe.
” This is just the beginning!”
She sighs and turns to go, she walks out of there majestically leaving Roseanna still on chains both hands and feet.

One of the chefs who works there, an old man if about sixty in age walks in where Roseanna was.
All the these while he had been coming to give Roseanna food… He knew she had done nothing wrong… He really pitied her.
Gently tapping her on her shoulder, Roseanna slowly opens her eyes and looks at him.
“Take and eat… Eat and gain some strength” He told her while releasing the chain from her hands.
Roseanna moves her head sideways, crying.
“I don’t want to eat… I want to get out of here!!”
The old man sighs, ” I know… But at least have some food for the sake of your baby…”
The old man knew she was not ready to eat, he took the spoon and fed some into her mouth, but of chewing the food, Roseanna accumulated it in her mouth without swallowing and then spat it out.
“I’m not hungry!!” She held the old man’s hand.
” Please I want to leave here… Please let me out of here…” She pleaded sniffing.
The old man looks at her pitifully and sighs. He had to try his best to let her out of there.

JASON’S HOUSE
“Have you seen her?” Jason asks the inspector on call.
” No sir… But due to some information… She had left her house for a couple of days now and had not been seen around…” The inspector replies.
” Please inspector Karl… Please do anything to find Roseanna and Starlet because she’s up to no good!”
” I will…”
Jason sighs as he hangs up the phone call. Roseanna has not been found and now Starlet has not been found. And one thing he was sure of was that Starlet knew the whereabouts of Roseanna.
He ruffles his hair, trying to think.

UNKNOWN BUILDING
“I want to show Jason, Roseanna’s de@d body and tell him how capable I am for doing something terrible… Because I am Starlet and I must get what I want!!”
Starlet stood outside the building, she looks at a chair in the middle and smiles.
“Dear Rosie… By this time in the evening… You will be seated on this chair and be electrocuted!!” She said holding an electric switch, letting out an evil laugh.

ARCHANGELS CATHOLIC CHURCH
“Dear God… Please let Roseanna be safe wherever she is… It’s already a month and some weeks yet we still haven’t gotten a glimpse of her… Dear God… Please watch over her and her baby…” Kalila prayed.
“Dear lord… Please… Just guide my Rosie and her baby wherever she is right now… Please stay with her…!” Diana too prayed silently in her heart.

UNKNOWN BUILDING
The old man gently taps Roseanna on her shoulder. He had skillfully collected the keys to the chain on her legs from the @bducters since he had only the keys for her hand.
He taps her shoulder again and Roseanna slowly opens her eyes, seeing it was him, she brightens up.
“Be quick!!… You need to get out of here before she comes…” He removes the chains, helping Roseanna to her feet.
Roseanna was so weak that she could barely walk and he aided her a bit.
“Don’t waste anymore time my daughter… Starlet has planned something very evil!”
He held her by the hand and slowly leads her out of there through the back door.
They walked until they were no longer at the building and then the old man paused.
“I must go back now before they look for me… Leave this entire place before they start to look for you!!”
Roseanna just stood there and stares at him.
He sighs remembering she was almost due, he gave her some money and a shawl.
“Here isn’t safe for both of us right now… I must get going…!” He said and ran back in speed despite his old age.
Roseanna held the money and the shawl tightly as she manages to get to the roadside.
She stood there randomly flagging down any vehicle that comes her way.
And then…!!!
Roseanna held her stomach tightly in pain as the baby kicked, it was her time to deliver…!

UNKNOWN BUILDING
“Where is Roseanna?” Starlet barked facing the @bducters.
” Ma’am, she was here the last time I saw her this evening… I have no idea what had happened…” One of them said.
“Oh… really?” Starlet asked with a squinted eye garing at each one of them.
“Who was the last person with Roseanna in the room?”
There was silence for a while which angers Starlet.
“I said who was with her this evening?” She lashed out.
“I-I-I… I was with her some while ago…” The old man said with his head lowered
“You…?”
“Yes ma’am… I only went to serve her her evening meal… That was when last I saw her… ” He said with a bow.
Starlet glowered at him thinking on what do…. She then looks at each of them.
“If she has been here this evening… She wouldn’t have to escape too far due to her pregnancy…” She paused and takes a deep breathe.
” Search for her at every single place, everywhere… And make sure!… You don’t come back here without bringing her along!!”
” Yes ma’am!”

ON THE ROAD
“So how did you feel when I introduced you to my business partners and colleagues?” A man in his mid-fifties asked his daughter.
“Ohh daddy…., I felt shy and awkward as it was my first time meeting with them…” A young lady of about twenty three years replies her father.
The man smiles, “Yes I understand… You will get over it soon and then take over when am gone… I’m sure you’ll be able to handle my business more than the way I have handled it…” He said.
” Thank you daddy!” She said resting her head on her father’s shoulder who in turn strokes his daughter’s hair.
They were just coming back from a business meeting and there he had introduced his daughter and then they were driving back home.

Meet Brandon Carvers, a full business typhoon owning the biggest company across the country and international but he prefers being low-key. He survived a plane crash eighteen years ago and because of that, lost his only daughter and his wife who he loved so dearly and has hoped to find them.
Despite all the search and going through the plane crash, they were pronounced de@d which saddens him and he vows never to remarry.
After the search for eighteen good years, he finally finds his daughter who he lost, Alicia. A lot of questions were asked and to him only her remembered memories were enough for the proof as surely DNA results were to be done later. But is she really his daughter… Or had lies surrounding her?

“Ahhh… Mhmm… Owww…” Roseanna mutters as the baby kicks continuously.
“Plea-se… Ju-st… hold on a bit” She said to herself as she kept on flagging down cars randomly, hoping to get any help.

STILL ON THE ROAD
Brandon strokes his daughter’s hair as he looks outside the window while they drove back home.
He gazed outside just flashing back old memories and then he sees a lady through the window.
“Halt!” He said and the car was put at a stop.
Alicia raising her head from her dad’s shoulder, looked at him and then to the direction he was looking at.
“Dad… What is it?”
“Pull the car backwards… Seems that young lady needs help!” He said and immediately the car was moved backwards.

Roseanna held her stomach as she prays that her baby should wait a little bit more longer but no!
She held her stomach as she lowers herself to the ground. She lays her back on it ready to deliver her baby.
*****
“I’ve seen her!” One of the@bducters exclaimed sighting someone far away.
“Let’s be quick and get her!! We must take her back with us!!”
They hurried up to get to where she was.

“Be quick… Let’s take her to the nearest Hospital!!”
The driver quickly hops down from the vehicle together with the female bodyguard who was with them at that time.
Alicia looks at them and then turned to her dad.
“When will you stop picking dirty and random people on the road?”
“The day I’ll cease to exist…” He replied plainly.
“What???” Alicia exclaimes slack jawed.
“What if they were bad people?”
Brandon sighs, “Alicia… That lady is in great need of help at the juncture and I will do my best to help her!” He replied to his daughter’s disapproval.
Successfully, they lay Roseanna who was halfly conscious in the front seat covered.
The drive was speedy as they quickly arrived at the Hospital.
Immediately , an emergency stretcher was rolled in with Roseanna on it.
“Take her to the theatre!.. We’ll attend to her now!!”
Brandon stays out near the theatre waiting patiently.
Alicia seems very angry as she couldn’t wait further.
“Daddy I’m tired and I needed to rest after everything but now you’ve ended up at the Hospital… I won’t wait for you… I’m going back home now!!”
She stretched her hand for the car keys which wasn’t even with him.
“You wouldn’t use the car if you’re going home now” He shrugs, “You can board a taxi!”
“W-wh-at!!” Alicia shocked by her father’s utterance but she wasn’t ready to wait any further.
“Whatever!!” She stamps her foot and walks out of the hospital.

UNKNOWN BUILDING
“Where is she???” Starlet growled furiously.
“We are sorry ma’am, we couldn’t get her… Before we couldn’t reach her… She was gone! We’ve searched everywhere but she’s not in sight!!”
“Arghhhh!!!” Starlet screams as she ruffles her hair roughly as her whom body vibrated with anger.
“You all are useless!!”

At The Hospital
Forty Five Minutes Later
The doctor comes out of the theatre and Brandon immediately stood up.
“How is she??” He asked greatly worried.
“She’s definitely fine and okay but she’s resting right now… She delivered a baby girl!!” The doctor replied.
Brandon beamed with smile “So can I go in now to see her?”
“Sure!” The doctor answered as he gave him way smiling.
“Get me the complete results that will be carried out now!!” He told the nurses before walking out of there.
