TWO DAYS LATER***

*

“Good morning!” Bella s¢ræmed as she entered the ward.

“Hey! Good morning!” Anastasia replied with a smile.

“I guess you’re ready to go home?”

“I’m so damn ready.” She stands up from the bed. “What kept you so long? I was already thinking you won’t show up today.”

“I was actually talking with the doctor concerning the bills.”

“So?”

“It’s been paid already. That means, some one paid for your bills.” She smiled.

“Who’s that?” She asked.

“Mr handsome.” Bella replied.

“Mr handsome?” She repeated.

“Oh, I forgot you don’t remember any one. I meant, Mr Jayden Donaldson. He paid for the bills the day he came to visit you.”

Anastasia was surprised. He was just a regular customer, wasn’t he?

“Come on, let’s get going. I’m already getting sick of this place.” Bella said, changing the topic.

She assisted Anastasia to the elevator. She pressed on the button which leads to the last floor. She held Anastasia’s hand as they made their way out of the building.

“Where are we heading to now?” Bella asked. “Home, or to the restaurant?”

“Take me to the restaurant.” She said,

“To the restaurant we go to.” She stopped a taxi, and they entered. “Take us to 15 avenue.”

“Yes, ma’am.” The driver started the engine, zooming off.

They got to the avenue. Bella paid the driver before stepping out of the car. The rest of the distance to Anastasia’s restaurant, they covered it on foot.

“Here it is.” Bella said, pointing at the sign above the door. “This is your restaurant, Ana.”

“Wow!” She gasped. “I can’t believe this is my shop?” She said happily.

“You haven’t seen it all. Come on, let’s go in,side.” Bella opened the door, and they walked in.

The interior part of the restaurant was decorated by different colors of ribbons and balloons. Anastasia thought some one was celebrating, but then, there’s no one in the shop except the two of them.

“What’s all these?” She asked, glaring around the restaurant, amazed.

“Surprise!” Bella yelled, then every one came out from their hiding place.

“Welcome back Anastasia r-manoff!” They all chorused.

Anastasia flinched. She touched her chest, chuckling. “Oh, my gosh! They scared the shit outta me. What is this?”

A girl came forward to her with a big cake in her hand, with a candle on it. On the cake was written, «Welcome back, Ana.»

She looked at the young lady who was smiling at her. “Go on, blow it.” She said to her.

Ana blew the candle lights, and they all began to clap. Anastasia collected the cake from her, she could perceive the sweet scent of the icy cake.

“Welcome back, Ana.” Bella said, hugging her tight.

“Thank you so much.” She broke the hug. “You did all these for me?” She asked.

Bella shook her head. “I didn’t, but he did.” She said, looking behind her.

Anastasia followed her gaze, turning back to see Mr Jayden walking out from a corner. He had the cutest smile on his face, exposing his dimples.

Anastasia wasn’t expecting he’d do it. She never had him in her mind, but here he is.

He stood before her. “Hey, Ana.”

“Mr Donaldson?”

“Welcome back.”

“Thank you. You did all these for me?” She asked. He didn’t reply, he smiled. “Thank you so much.”

“It’s nothing, Ana. I’ll do any thing for my favorite chef.”

She blushed.

“Come on, let’s celebrate. The party is for you.” Bella took the cake from her while he held her hand, leading her to an empty seat.

Anastasia felt shy sitting with a wealthy man, a billionaire for crying out loud. Even the food before her, she found it difficult to eat from it, and when she did eat from it, she’d spend minutes of her time grinding on it.

The celebration was still going on, Jayden asked her for a walk with him. “Mind for a walk with me?”

“Yes, sure.”

They left the restaurant, walking through the sidewalk of the road. Anastasia would look at him with her side eye, she would smile.

“So, how are you feeling today?” He asked, breaking the silence.

“Much better. Bella told me you paid my hospital bills, I wanna say thank you.”

He looked at her. “You don’t have to thank me, like I told you, I’d do any thing for my chef. You just don’t know how much I missed having a taste of your cooking, and when I came back, I didn’t see you. Then Tessa told me what happened.”

She looked away from his gaze. “I still don’t remember what happened to me.”

“You don’t have to force yourself to, all memories are gonna come, slowly.”

She looked at him again, smiling. “Thank you.”

They walked a long way, and he took her to shopping stores for sightseeing. After that, they walked to the park avenue, passing through streets after streets. They were deep into their conversation that they didn’t notice how far they had gone from the restaurant.

“Wow! What a walk.” He said.

“Can you remember our way back?” She asked, not sure if she does.

“What if I say I don’t?”

Anastasia’s heart skipped. “Does it mean we’re both stuck here?” She asked.

“I guess that’s it.”

“Oh my God, we’re in trouble. Some one’s gonna kidnap us.” She looked at the sky. “And it’s fu*king getting late already.” She looked at him. “What are we gonna do?” She asked.

He chuckled.

“What’s funny?”

“You’re terrified?”

“I’m scared.” She said, sounding childish.

He held her two hands. “You don’t have to be scared, I haven’t forgotten our way back. And… no one is kidnapping us, okay?”

She nodded her head.

As they made their way back, Anastasia walked slowly behind him. She was tired of walking, but she didn’t want to complain. He noticed how slow and reluctant she was, he asked. “Is every thing alright?” He asked.

She nodded her head.

They kept walking in silence. After about five minutes, she stopped walking. He stopped too, turning to her. “Is there a problem?” He asked again.

“I feel tired.” She said,

“Okay. I’ll board a taxi then. We just have to walk to the bus stop in front.”

Anastasia forced her legs to walk until they got to the bus stop. He boarded a private taxi which drove them back to 15 avenue.

“Don’t you feel ashamed walking along the street?” She asked. “I mean, you’re a wealthy man who doesn’t need to walk, you have cars to do the job.”

He chuckled. “Some times, we have to belittle ourselves to get what we want. If I have to use a car, I won’t feel the fun of our walk and the fresh air too.”

She smiled. “Well, I did enjoy having a walk with you. Thank you for taking me around.”

They stopped before her shop. The weather was dark, and it was time for the both of them to say goodbye. “It was really fun hanging out with you.” Jayden admitted.

“Same here.”

“Well, I guess it’s good bye then. Looking forward to seeing you some other time.”

“You too.”

He leans forward, k×ssing her forehead. “Good bye, Ana.”

“Good bye, Mr Donaldson.”

Just then, his driver showed up. He came to open the door for Jayden. Jayden stood for a while, staring at Anastasia, he smirked. “Good night.” He said again, hopping in.

Anastasia waved her hand at him until his was out of sight. She kept standing, with her hands crossed around her chest from the cold. “Why is it so cold here?” She asked herself.

She shrugged, heading into the restaurant. Bella and Tessa were done packing, they were about leaving when Anastasia showed up.

“Wow, look what we have here.” Bella said excitedly as she saw Anastasia. “Let me guess, you two had a wonderful walk out, right?”

Anastasia smiled.

“Now that smile is talking.”

“Hey, we forgot Ana’s cake.” Tessa s¢ræmed.

“Check it in the fridge.” Bella said, while Tessa goes in to get the cake.

“Why don’t we celebrate the cake in,side? You guys don’t expect me to eat all that alone, do you?”

“Well, I wasn’t expecting you to go home alone either. I promised us before the crazy incident occurred that I’ll be hosting a girl’s night with just the three of us. So, it’s the weekend, definitely our girl’s night party.”

Tessa came with the cake in her hands. “It’s cold.”

“It’s always cold, Tessa. It’s a fridge, what do you expect?”

Tessa eyed her.

“Come on, let’s go to my house, shall we?” They held each other’s hand as they walked to the junction.

It’s just a girl’s night, the best any one can have with their friends. Bella was only trying to help her remember things she had forgotten. Even though her memories are all gone permanently, Bella still believes there’s always a way to get those memories back.

It doesn’t have to be a day or two, no matter how long it’s gonna take for her to remember, she definitely will. If not any thing or any one, she surely has to remember him. The very person to her heart… Pablo Escobar.
