The family was dazed at the expense of the Airforces claims, they stood mesmerized at the unfold of event ”Hands Up” one of the officers said and every one of the three of them placed their hands up, they needed no soothsayer to tell them it was Hilton and his brothers handwork.
Cal: Officer, We…. He was trying to say, when one of the officers cut him short.
Officer: You have the right to remain silent, our order of arrest is directly from the president.
Cal: But at least we have the right to an attorney, you can’t just arrest us like that. He defended
Officer: well i am sorry Mr Cal, you don’t have such liberty, he replied, Move it he said and they cleared the way and started moving towards the direction where their captor directed.
Right outside the airport was a van, popularly known as “Black Maria” use for conveying prisoner, awaiting trial, or prisoner that werw already convicted, that was the vehicle waiting to convey them to what ever site hilton prepared for them, as if they were really criminals.
Messie: I can’t let this happen, he whispered to himself, he has been quiet the wh0le time and watched as the dramas unfold, Jude who was waiting outside to pick up Cal’s family, outside the airport, sighted them being esc-rted by uniform men, and right at that instant, he knew all was not well, he had tried to go find out what the issue was from hia friend, but was not given the chance, as thet were heavily guarded by security men.
Soon they entered the van, and the driver tried to ignite the engine of the van, but there was no sign of life, neither was any was any coming.
Officer: What is happening officer? He asked the driver, who was also putting on a security uniform.
Driver: The vehicle isn’t starting. He comfirmed to his colleague and this made messie laugh. They soon asked the family to come down, as they tried every other vehicle available but not was gonna start they had become frustrated as the sun scorching hot pierced through their body, there by producing heat which generated enough sweat, soon the one who seem to be their leader, got a call,
Caller: Why ain’t you at the site yet?
Officer: sir we are having a problem here, the Vehicles refused to start so we are stranded here.
Caller: what do you mean the vehicle refused to start?
Officer: Sir I can’t tell what is going on, he confessed, ‘None of the vehicle is starting’.
Caller: Are the Target still with you? He asked!
Officer: Yes they are
Caller: ok hold on i am on my way, the president is really on my neck. He stated and hang up. No doubt to everyone present that it was his superior that called and from what they heard they could tell what the conversation was all about.
Trust Nigerians, by now some citizens who have the nerve had gathered to observe the unusual scenario where about 5 cars of the air force refused to start.
Messie: ‘You people really don’t know what you are up against’, he said to the hearing of everyone present, including the officers and his parents tried to hush him down, but he gave them a knowing look, and they relaxed. One of the officers had spoke up,
Officer: what do you mean little boy, he said staring at him with anger, the intensity of the hot sun was telling on him.
Messie: wouldn’t it be wise if you let us go, amd stop charging us for a crime we did not commit, if we are suicide bombers come search us and bring out the bomb, and stop acting foolish and unprofessional, with your childish claims that you can’t back up with any proof, to be sincere, this is childishness. He said, and the officers looked dumbfounded They were surprised at the little boy’s outburst. And one of them spoke up.
Officer: I am very sure you don’t know what you are talking about boy, I would Love you keep shut just as your parents are doing right now. He said seizing him up with his eyes.
Messie: Dad! Mom!!, Let’s go home he called after his parents. It will be very wise of you if you don’t obstruct us he called after the officers, and everyone were mesmerized at the bravery of the teenage boy, including Jude who stood by to watch as things unfold. His parents soon obeyed his command and this pricked the officers so much and onw of them who spoke earlier had reached for his wipe and made to strike it down on any of them closet to him, but the moment he tried, his hands hung in the air and never dropped, this was the height of it all, fear gripped the soldiers and the onlookers we maveled as all that could be heard was exclamation of surprise.
Messie: I think no one is restricting us from going again, Dad common let’s go he said dragging one of their luggage while san carried the other one, You he pointed to the commander, If you don’t want any one to get hurt again, don’t try anything stupid. He later went to the one that his hand was still hanging, who by now was pleading heaven and earth, he gave him a tap on his other free hand and the one that hang was free again. By now more people have gathered around to watch drama unfolding at the airport road.
The family had made to go when the superior finally came, he saw that the target has been free and was trying to enter an awaiting car which no other than Jude’s car, when he made a command at for the not to let the target get away, but the soldiers had hesitated at first but just like being controlled by remote, they all aim at the family again, and just as they aim they remained static like that The Commander was surprised, at first he thought it was a prank, he ran towards his men and shook them, but they weren’t moving, he became not only scared, but moved back he looked back but they were gone already, and evrn the onlookers who had turned to spectators started trooping back to wherever their destination was.
Soon the news spread Like wide fire about what transpired at the airport, all over every nooks and cranny of the country, including hidden villages. It was all over the new. in,side the car, Jude gave Cal a quizzical look, and cal. Understood what meant, he had first apologize for all the drama, and the time he kept him waiting, then he explained everything to him. And he was awed at the revelation.
Messie: Hi uncle jude! He said grinning.
Jude: Hi he said still doubting the fact that he was talking to a spiritual being that wasn’t even up to a month old, but looked very much like a 17yrs old teenager. And the worst of it, was that it was hilton’s child.
Messie: Don’t give me that look, I am not hilton’s child, and besides i ain’t a 17yrs old boy i don’t have an age. He said to him which made him losed control of the wheel as he almost jumped from his seat, if not for the fact that the door was closef he would have been sitting in the middle of the road by now. But that was too late The car almost ran into the gutter, because he loosed control, and they all scre-m watch out!!!, but that wasn’t a problem, ‘messie to the rescue’, “Be careful he said to Jude”
Jude: How did you do that? And also read my thoughts.? He asked in fear.
Messie: Now i don’t only cast spells on people, I can also read thoughts, and for the save, i was going to warn you. He said, you guys should not finish my magic in just one day o if you gey into trouble again i will just fold my hands and watch, he said and this incited a round of laughter from the occup-nts of the car, including jude who kept starring at him and tried not to think much because he knew there was a mind reader around.
Jude: What will happen to those officers.
Messie: I have free them already, he said as if he was expecting the question. Well yes he knew when jude thought about it. “Please sir feel free to think oo i won’t say your thoughts out, am sorry if you are offended by my manners”, he apologized. Truth is jude was already getting sick of the wh0le thing, he wasn’t a fan of such, magical or spiritual myths, but the little boy has proven to be real, and he was lovely, Jude smiled.
Jude: it’s nothing. He mentioned, the conversation continued among them till they got to cal’s house, and the car came to a halt, and they headed in the house still looked as beautiful as they had left it, all thanks to jude who helped the couple employ workers to keep the house tidy, they soon enter in,side and sandra scre-med Home Sweet Home!!! And smile. Welcome to our house messie, Soon one of the maids employed by Jude came in to greet them, and He introduced them to each other. Soon they settled in the living room, Just then a newsflash Popped up on the Tv screen, it was about the mystical little boy that held soldiers hostage, followed by the News of the Airforce commander dead, he was killed by the president in his office due to what was tagged as in efficiency on the commanders path, Just a simple command to capture a family and he messed up, the reporter went futher to link up the death of the commander with the mystical boy! As it was his failure to provide the boy and his family that resulted in his death.
