CHAPTER SEVENTEEN : THE BALL 3
Lily heart won’t stop beating fast, the voice seem to have increase and slowly she began to see things, could it be illusion or is this real, her whole surrounding began to shake ” he likes you doesn’t he ” the voice came again and I shake my head
” Who are you!!!” Yelling I watch someone walk out of the walls, she is naked, dark long hair, blue eyes, long nails.
” Mrs Viki ” she bow her head mockingly ” Lord Mammon’s first concubine, the one he is meant to be with forever ” she lift her head up, anger visible in those eyes ” he shouldn’t love you ”
” He doesn’t love me ” I rush my words, fear building gradually ” he never loved me, he….he just love torturing me ”
” You are not meant to live, you should have never showed up ”
” What are you?”
” A ghost, the ghost that will make you turn to one ” with a flick of her finger, I watch how blood begin to flow into the room, I try opening the door one more time but it won’t bulge, how am I gonna escape this.
Viki move closer to me, she stare into my ears then laugh before slapping me hærd at my face, I cough blood out but she didn’t stop there, she dip her nails into my stomach, my s¢ræms increase, the pain was too much.
Her other nails move to my face, giving me a mark at my left cheek ” you deserve death and more suffering for stealing Mammon from me!!!!”
Lord Mammon frown as he stand in the physician building, his gaze move round the place, the ghost he kept in this room, one of them seem to be missing ” Vince ” moving my gaze to meet him, I watch how he give out one of those smiles of his.
” Milord ” he bow “forgive me for my ignorance but I had no idea when she escaped ”
” She?”
” Mrs Viki ghost milord ”
” That damn bitch ” growling I squeeze my hands ” even in death she still pull all these shits……where do you suppose she will be?”
” My guess will be by your side but….” Vince shake his head ” I don’t feel a presence next to you which means, they is someone she wish to kill, someone she fear will take something from her ”
” Hmmmm”
” My Lord, the last person she try killing was queen Luna, who do you suppose she will wish death for now?”
” I can not think of anyone ”
” Someone that has been lingering in your thoughts milord ” Vince mumble ” it is told that ghosts can see who one desire the most by mere looking ”
” Milord” baron look at me ” could miss lily be in danger ”
” Why will lily be in danger, I hærdly……” I stop speaking when I realize that she might really be in danger ” excuse me ” fastening my steps out of Vince’s ward I rush to the main palace, ignoring all forms of greetings on the way.
Arriving in her room, it seem calm but when I try opening the door it didn’t bulge until I use force on it, stepping in I watch lily drowning in blood, a sticky blood that refuse to even flow out.
I know this power, the blood act has always been viki specialty, that’s Viki main power ” disable ” just that word everything vanish and I quickly shut the door then caught lily in my arms, placing her on the floor, I gave her CPR then watch her cough blood out.
I stare at the wounds all over her body ” Viki ”
” You cherish her ”
” I do not ” standing up, I turn around and stare at the ghost ” you look hideous as always ”
” you came for her ” I watch her cry ” you never came for me ”
” I did ” frowning I step closer ” I just watched you die, I told you Viki…..I choose when my property is to expire and it was your time ”
” I loved you!!!”
” I never needed that ”
” She doesn’t deserve you, I do ”
” You’re dead ” I growl ” you do not lay a single finger on what’s mine, you do not cause damage to my belongings”
“Milord ” Viki fall to her knees “why!!!!!?” She s¢ræm, a ghost s¢ræm always make others around lose sense of hearing, with a wave of my finger I made her sound wave return right back at her.
” Viki” bending to her level I get hold of her neck, giving it a tight squeeze ” get out of my sight, don’t think because you’re a ghost I can’t make you vanish ”
” Milord ”
” Wrong answer ” one more squeeze she vanish out of sight for good, exhaling I stand to my feet, turn around to stare at lily who is wide awake with trembling body.
She is too young for such experience, my gaze lower to her stomach which is bleeding, her face which was ruin with marks.
My hands squeeze and I regret giving Viki such a peaceful ending ” milord” she stammer and crawl backwards, holding her stomach ” am I going to die?”
” Lily ”
” I told her ” she kept crying ” I told her you don’t fancy me but she didn’t believe me, no body ever believes me ”
” Lily ” I step closer but she shake her head.
” No milord” she growl ” stay away, stay away from me!!!!” I watch her half yell, her life is slowly draining if I don’t do something about it ” you bring only problems in my life, stay away ” the energy in her voice is dropping.
” You will die lily ”
” Please tell them you don’t fancy me ” she mumble as I step close ” everyone should know I mean nothing to you ” bending close to her, I nod my head ” please tell them ”
” Stop speaking ” moving my hands to her stomach, I wanted reciting a spell but her next word made me stop right there.
” I prefer to die if it means being yours ” she notice the shock in my eyes and then she smile ” that way my life will be peaceful and free of Lord Mammon ” squeezing my hands be I frown but she cut me before I even speak ” yes I belong to you Lord Mammon and I wish you will see that am just suffering ”
” Am being nice to you ” I ask, confused as to what she wants again.
” I do not have it in me to fancy you ” she growl before shutting her eyes ” I can never love you”

CHAPTER EIGHTEEN : THE BALL 4 (KNOW YOUR PLACE)
Lord Mammon remain seated on the only chair in lily room, his eyes didn’t leave her body even one second, she has been unconscious for an hour and counting…..I have no doubts I healed her but seeing her half dead doesn’t sit well with me.
I watch her finger move slightly, her eyes move a bit before she finally open them, she look around, probably trying to think of what happened and why she is alive.
She turn to her left then stare at me, she blink then frown ” milord ” she try sitting up and I didn’t bother me to stop her ” am still alive ” she move towards the edge of her bed, dropping her leg.
” Yes you are ”
” And you are the cause of this ”
” Absolutely ”
” Why won’t you leave me alone milord ” she growl looking at me ” you called me an eyesore which obviously means ugly, am just an average concubine, dark hair, dark eyes…. nothing special ”
” You’re right ”
” So why are you here?” Confusion fill her eyes ” why am I alive ”
” Because I said you will be alive, you will keep living till I get tired of you ” standing to my feet, I move close to her, place my hand under her jaw, lift her head to look at me” you will live for me ”
” Milord ” she frown ” I refuse ”
” Why do you dislike me lily ?” Placing my hands at her side, I lean close ” you surely like it when I k!$s and touch you, you blush whenever am around, I treat you differently ”
” That is the problem milord, you treat me differently ”
” What do you mean ”
” Treat me like the others milord, you hærdly visit the concubines quarter ”
” You want me to treat you like them???” I fake a smile ” do you know what you’re asking?”
” Yes milord ” she nod then avert her gaze ” I wish for your wives and concubines not to see me as a threat, it will only put me in trouble ”

” Forgive me milord but I do know you do not fancy……” I shut her up completely with a k!$s, her eyes wide open, we stare at each other while our l-ips touch one another, I didn’t move my lip.
She withdraw her head back, a faint blush appear on her cheeks ” Lord Mammon” she mumble ” I was serious ”
” No one will harm you again lily ” moving my hands, I touch her face gently, her eyes burn into mine ” you might be an eyesore, the eyesore I find interesting and worthy to spend time around ”
” Could it be you fancy me milord?”
” Silly lily ” leaning close I k!$s her forehead ” you’re mine forever ” and with that I leave her alone in her chambers, looking around I notice the preparation for the ball is going well, the lights, chandelier, the food.
” The preparation is going well milord ” Serena and Venus step into view, they look stressed ” we have news, news you will find disturbing ”
” What is this about ”
” We have a spy living in the main palace ” Venus refuse his voice, then mumble after looking around ” the x region is nothing but fraud ”
” Let’s head to my study room and discuss more of this, shall we?” They nod and I give lily room one last glance before walking away.
On the other hand, lily couldn’t stop thinking, her heart won’t stop beating fast and it surprise her that the pain was gone ” am his ” mumbling I use the pillow to hit my face ” he said that because am his property, nothing more and nothing less, why am I so excited ”
Standing up I look at my reflection in the mirror, he did still call me an eyesore, shaking my head I nod, today is the day I plan my escape, I shouldn’t be daydreaming, I shouldn’t daydream of Lord Mammon ever.
He belong to too many women and I just don’t want to be one of his many concubines…..my thoughts made me frown, earlier I will say I will wish to be his average concubine that catches no one attention.
Am I starting to like this attention am getting ” Oh God No!!! ” Half gr0-ning I look for the cloth suitable for my escape plan, I should leave before I fancy the Lord, he is trouble.
I curse my eyes the moment it notice the dress placed on the table,with a note on it ‘ COME TO THE BALL LILY….YOU OWE ME ME A DANCE FOR SAVING YOUR LIFE’ no name written beneath but no one needs to tell me before I know that it’s Lord Mammon.
It won’t hurt to attend the ball for few hours will it?
Moving to the bathroom, I wash my hair and my body with full attention, moving out of the bathroom, I look through the window, guests are starting to come in, I close the window then apply my lotion, put on my underwear, bra and then the beautiful long red dress.
Putting it on, I stare at my reflection, my hair done, no makeup just lip gloss ” is this okay for a ball?” Nodding I gather lot of courage before stepping out of my room, I stare at the whole place light up with red lights ” wow ” looking around I move towards the hall for the ball, many carriage fill the palace, beautiful women all moving in.
It is said that the first ball helps the king to select a new wife each year.
” I might just be his next wife, I can feel it ”
” No sister, it’s definitely me!”
I watch two sister argue before stepping in, they look really alike, probably twins , they seem so interested in the king, if only the know the truth behind his smile and laughter.
” You there!” Hearing that voice I turn around to look at the first queen, queen Luna ” who are you, why aren’t you stepping in the hall, are you a spy ?”
” No my queen ” I rush to say ” I was just lost in thought ”
” What’s your name ”
” Lily my queen ”
” The new concubine ” she move close, her blond hair and blue eyes really make her to stand out ” I hope you know your place around here ” she look at me with disgust while I just nod with a smile.
” Of course my queen ” watching her move into the hall, I let out an air I have no idea I had in me, all his wives are scarry.
Will it really be okay to dance with the king? Won’t it bring more problems? I should just go in, look around then leave …. nodding to that thought I step in and fall in love with the whole environment.
The setting, the arrangements, the lights, the music plus everyone is dressed so nice that you will know who is rich and poor between them.
” Lily ” hearing that voice, I watch lord Ruskin move closer ” how have you been ”
Bowing I mumble ” fine milord ”
” You need not be so formal lily ” I watch pain dance in his eyes ” you need to stop pushing me away ”
” Milord are you drunk?” He chuckle at my statement and am left wondering if what I said was funny, girls were starting to move towards his direction, he is a young Lord after all and as they queen said, I need to know my place ” excuse me milord ” bowing one last time, I turn to leave but he grab my arm, stopping me and attracting attention to us which is the last thing I need right now.
