My dad can still be alive?

A hope of happiness rushed through me and I found myself laughing.

I can’t believe my dad can still be alive?

“how did you know this ” I asked Brian, still smiling.

“I went through all the hospitals in Manila and there’s one particular one that treats victims who were burnt so I think your dad might be amongst them ” he said and my hope slowly shattered.

What if my dad isn’t there?

“I tried going through the victims info but some of them were unknown cause they’re still under treatment ” he added and I nodded slowly.

“we’ll go check the hospital and get all necessary info then check if my dad is there ” I said.

“since we’re already done with Sasha, should I dump her ” Leo asked.

“no, it would ruin all our plans. We have to make sure that the Buenevistas go down with no way of coming up again. If we should deal with Beatrice, George and Rinaldo, they might come up again with the funds of the others and that’s why we must take them all down. If we’ve succeeded in taking the children’s funds, they’ll have no way to come up ” I said and they nodded.

“you have to continue being a gentle man towards her, take info from her ” I said and he nodded.

My phone rang and I took it out.

“Lanna Delacruz on the line ” I said into the phone.

“Lanna ” I heard Faye’s voice at the other line.

“Faye what’s it ” I asked.

“how was it possible that I have the same birth mark as the Buenevistas daughter ” she asked.

Cause you’re really their daughter bitch.

“I think it’s just coincidence dear ” I said and she breathed out an “oh”.

“yeah you’re right, I can never be a Buenevista, even God won’t allow that ” she said and I chuckled.

“I think they already went for the DNA stuff ” she said.

“don’t be scared, I have everything under control ” I told her.

I hung up and rolled my eyes.

How did she even call me?

Oh I guess its with the telephone ☎.

“so our next aim now is finding out Melanie’s secret so we can use it against her ” I said.

“Brian I want you to keep an eye on her. We already have a camera in their room so watch it everyday and when she goes out, make sure to trace her every moves ” I sad.

“sure ” he answered.

“Faye will play her part and I’ll do mine ” I said.

“Leo, once the Buenevistas accept Faye as their own, make Sasha bring up the topic of the land ” I said and he nodded.

I have to be very smart with my moves cause I’ve got two people who are on to me.

Mr George and Fernando.

I spent the day with Fernando, trying to get closer to him but the guy appeared smarter than I thought.

I don’t think I’ll ever get this guy to sign over his funds.

I have to find another way to get the Buenevistas to spend their money.

I paced back and forth in my room, thinking of a way to make the Buenevistas spend their money.

It was already nighttime but I suspected Melanie was gonna leave the house so I came here.

I was watching from my laptop how hærd she was trying to make Fernando sleep.

I took one of Lanna’s cars that has tinted glasses and came to the Buenevistas street.

I stopped a little farther away from the mansion so no one would suspect a thing.

I’ve been here for almost 5 mins now but Melanie is still not out.

She laid on her bed, pretending to be asleep but she wasn’t.

After minutes of pretense, she looked to see that Fernando was already asleep.

She sprung up and went into the bathroom then came out already dressed.

She tiptoed out of the room and used the back door.

I smiled and got ready to trace her.

First, I texted the group my where about and if anything happens, they can trace me with the tracking device.

We all have it with us so we can save each other if needed.

She came out and hailed a cab and I followed swiftly.

She got down in an abandoned house, it was an uncompleted building.

What can she be doing here by this time of the night.

She went into the building and I alighted too.

I tiptoed behind her, being careful.

I had worn a black clothe over my face.

My eyes and mouth were the only visible part.

They can’t recognize me.

I brought out my gun, being alert as I followed her.

She stopped in a room where a guy was.

“why do you keep pestering me Ken ” she said in frustration.

I brought out my camera and videoed them.

The place was kinda blurry but you could still see and their convo is the most important thing.

“oh common, I miss you ” the guy called Ken said.

He walked up to her and k-ssed her.

Melanie didn’t pull away instead she wrapped her hands around his neck.

After some mins, she pushed him away.

“I’m married okay ” she seethed and the guy scoffed.

“where’s the money ” he asked and she sighed out loud.

She brought out her purse and gave him an envelope.

He smiled and k-ssed her.

“don’t call me to threaten me again, I told you I’ll give you money if you need it” she remarked.

She angrily turned and I immediately put away my camera then hid at a corner.

She stormed out of the building and headed out.

I slowly passed another route, following her out.

I froze when I heard “stop there “.

I was surprised how I was caught.

I was even hiding and it’ll be difficult for me to be caught.

I tightened my grip on my gun and slowly turned.

I watched from my hide as the guy walked up to Melanie.

Jeez! He was referring to Melanie and I almost had an heart attack thinking I’d been caught.

I watched as they both walked out.

I came out and boarded my car after they’d gone.

I drove home and met the team in the sitting room, probably waiting for me.

They were relieved when they saw me.

I showed them the video and Lanna was very happy.

“we’re one step closer to finding out her secret” she said.

We all retired to our room but Johnna later came to my room.

She laid beside me on the bed and cuddled into my arms.

I held her in my arms and we drifted off to sleep.

#The_next_day.

We all sat round the table in the meeting room.

We already ate breakfast.

“as we all know, Johnna couldn’t handle Rinaldo so I took over but he’s way smarter than I thought” I said.

“Rinaldo is the only one I presume to be involve in the Buenevistas misdeeds and he’s very precious to his family. If we’re gonna strike them hærd, we’ll start with Rinaldo and that would break them ” I said.

“how do we strike them using Rinaldo ” Johanna asked.

“I’ll have to see a doc ” I said and they stared at me in confusion.

I smirked and drummed my fingers on the table.

“I’m gonna see a doc to give me a deadly poison and I’ll have Rinaldo drink it. We’ll conspire with the Buenevistas family doc and give the doc the antidote to cure Rinaldo. After he had cure Rinaldo, he’d continue to sedate him and tell his family that the poison is deadly and needs lots of money to be cured whereas he’s perfectly fine ” I said and we all laughed.

“we’re gonna play this till the Buenevistas go bankrupt cause they’d do anything to save their son ” I added and they clapped.

“as for the video we have of Melanie, we’re not gonna use it until we find out her secret and we’re gonna blackmail her with it then later expose her in public ” I said.

“and as for Faye, we just hope she plays her part well cause she’s indeed a Buenevistas. She even hates that family already, what a pity ” I smiled wryly.

We rounded up the meeting and everyone got themselves busy with work.

I had just freshened up and was styling my hair when my door flew open.

Fernando walked in and I put on a puppy face.

“the DNA result is out and I just can’t get how you’re truly my sister, even the one I did was positive ” he said.

He came to me and jerked my hand.

He looked straight into my eyes and tried saying something but just stared at me.

He slowly let go of my hand and walked out.

That was strange! Thought he was gonna do something bad.

Wow! So Lanna did get the DNA results under her control.

I’m so happy to be related to someone like her.

I faced my mirror and continued styling my hair.

~ Fernando ~

The DNA test results came in today and I was confused on how it could be positive.

I know for sure that Lanna’s playing a game but she’s very smart.

I went to Faye’s room and tried getting words from her but when I held her hand and looked into her eyes, something in me connected with hers.

I felt like I’d known her and those eyes seemed familiar.

I was stunned so I left without saying another word.

I get this same feeling whenever I see Lanna, it’s like I’ve known her before yet she seems so far away from me.

There’s something familiar about her but I just can’t figure it out.

What’s it about you Lanna that always gets me off my nerve?

I had Brian search for the Buenevistas doc and I made an appointment with him online.

I was already dressed up, ready to go meet him at the hospital.

I walked out, boarded my car and drove off.

I arrived mins later, alighted and walked into the hospital.

I was directed to doctor Steve’s office by the staffs.

“welcome miss Lanna ” he said as I walked to him.

I was stunned to see that he was the same doc that treated my mom and lied that it was heart attack instead of poison.

Why wouldn’t he lie? He’s working for the Buenevistas.

The Buenevistas must trust him and he’s exactly who I need.

They’d not suspect the person they trust so well.

“good morning doc Steve ” I greeted with a smile as I took my seat.

“how may I help you miss Lanna” he asked.

I studied him for a while, examining his mind and all.

“I want you to give me a deadly poison and the antidote ” I demanded and he looked at me, wondering what I wanted it for.

“don’t gimme that look, you’ve killed more than millions of souls here ” I said and he was shocked at my words but I acted like I knew how to play the game well.

“I’ll get you the poison and the antidote ” he said and got up.

He went to a safe, pressed some codes and it opened.

He brought two bottles out and locked the safe back.

He took his seat and pushed the two bottles to my front.

“good! Now I want to tell you a little secret ” I said with a smile.

“I wanna use this poison for Rinaldo Buenevista ” I blurted out and his eyes w¡dened to the point of hilarity.

“ssshhhh, that’s a secret ” I whispered.

“I’ll give him the poison and after he had collapsed and rushed here immediately, you’d give him the antidote ” I instructed as he stared at me, puzzled.

“hope the poison won’t kill him instantly ” I asked and he nodded “no”.

“it kills slowly ” he said.

Oh! That must be what they used on my lovely mom.

“good! After giving him the antidote, you’d sedate and tell his family that the poison is deadly and needs hell lots of money to be treated whereas their son is safe and sound but just in deep sleep. The money they continue to pay would be transferred to my account by you. I decide when this would be over , deal? ” I asked.

“not deal miss Lanna, I can’t help you with this ” he said and I laughed.

“should I start counting innocent souls that you’ve killed? Or need I remind you that your only son studies in Chicago and we have him on watch ” I told him.

Before coming here, we’ve researched everything about him.

All it took us was for Brian to look for criminals in Chicago through the net and we gave them info about doc Steve’s son.

We waited for hours until they replied back and showed us prove that they’ve gotten his son.

I knew he’d never agree to this and that was why I had everything planned.

Once this plan is settled, his son would go free.

“I know you’re the Buenevistas family doc and I know they trust you a lot so don’t try to mess with me else you’d be messing with your son’s life ” I remarked angrily.

“are you threatening me miss Lanna ” he asked and I smiled.

“I don’t give threats doc Steve, I act ” I told him.

Before he could ask for any prove on his son, I brought out my phone and showed him a photo of his son, tied up.

He started sweating and I smiled.

He’s a doc but have killed innocent souls and he still need to face the law.

“when are you starting this ” he asked and I smirked.

Now he’s talking.

“all you have to do is wait till Rinaldo Buenevista is rushed here and you fulfill your part by giving him the antidote. After that, you make it look like he’s in coma and start demanding for money to treat him. I’ll tell you when to stop ” I said and he nodded.

I took the poison and pushed him the antidote.

“when the Buenevistas come with Rinaldo, tell them he had contacted a deadly disease “I said and he nodded.

I got up and turned to leave but stopped on my track and turned back.

“your son’s life is in your hands so you better not play games. Don’t try to act smart with me cause you’ll regret it, I’ve got my eyes on you” I said and walked out.

I checked my time and it was already evening.

I’ll go there tonight to carry out my plan.

I drove home and met Brian and Johanna making out.

I asked where Leo was and Brian said he was out with Sasha.

“and what have you got about my dad ” I asked.

“nothing for now, still on it ” he said and I nodded.

I went up to my room and freshened up.

Few more mins and I’ll go to their house.

When it was 19:20, I put away my laptop that I was working on and got dressed.

After doing my makeup, I went downstairs.

I boarded my car and drove off with the poison with me.

I arrived at the Buenevistas and alighted.

I was ushered in by a maid and was greeted by the family.

Rinaldo k-ssed the back of my hand and led me to my seat.

After chit chatting for a while, Rinaldo insisted I had dinner with them and I obliged.

We all sat round the table including Faye, Melanie, Myer and Fernando.

The food was being served by the maids.

I excused myself, saying I had an important phone call to make.

I stylishly walked to the kitchen and met Dora serving the ditches.

Some glasses were arranged on a tray and I knew they were for the dinner.

“I’ll take the glasses ” I said but Dora tried to protest.

I insisted and took it.

I walked out of the kitchen and when I knew no one was watching except the cameras I’d planted of course, I took out the liquid poison and added a little portion into a glass.

This will be the glass Rinaldo would drink from.

I kept the poison back in my purse and took the glasses to the dinning.

The Buenevistas were stunned that I brought it.

I just couldn’t help but notice the stares the two brothers were giving me.

Sasha wasn’t here and I knew she was with Leo and as for Debbie, I guess she has travelled back.

I placed the glass with the poison in front of Rinaldo and smiled.

After arranging the glasses, I took my seat.

The maid served us juice and I smiled inwardly as she poured juice into Rinaldo’s glass.

Little Myer was in between Rinaldo and I, in a way that Myer was seated beside Rinaldo.

The food was served and we all started eating.

I was silently praying for Rinaldo to pick up the f-cking juice.

Just when Rinaldo was gonna take his juice, little Myer beat him to it.

“please lemme have yours, I’m done with mine ” she demanded.

Holy shit! I don’t think this child will survive till we get to the hospital.
