Of course I’ve started already, it mustn’t get hacked into. But come to think of it, who would’ve been so stupid to go extra mile by making an attempt to hack into the camera system? Gabriel asked

Does that mean I’ve got enemies too? John asked them. “There’s no living soul without enemy, it’s just on different levels, so that’s why we all have to be careful in this life… Matilda replied

If this is happening now that Cassandra is here, then my doubt about her is true… Gabriel said

Are you suspecting her too? Matilda asked and he nodded. “But why are you both suspecting her and not everyone in this house”? John asked.

“That’s why I said I’ve got something to tell you. Take a look at this” Gabriel replied and pushed the laptop to him. I called Danielle here earlier to ask her why she stopped her earlier and what they discussed, she told me she confronted her because she’s been suspecting her.

I’ve always had the strange feeling ever since she got to this house which I don’t understand, I became convinced when I overheard her asking Gabrielle and Danielle about me. I knew she was following me by had to pretend not to be aware just to know what she’s up to, and km glad the camera caught her in action… Matilda said

Everyone should just pretend not to know anything. That’d make us get what we want easily… John said

I think it’s all done, I’ve stopped the attack. I’ve changed the credentials to something that cannot easily be guessed and i’ve updated the camera’s firmware and added two-factor authentication… Gabriel said.

Who did you say this man is? Matilda asked as she stared at pictures she was holding, bringing their attention back to her.

Do you know him? John asked and she nodded with tears streaming down her cheeks. “He’s my dad’s favourite colleague. They once did almost everything together, my sister and I call him uncle due to the love he shared with us” she replied. Does this mean he’s the one who caused havoc to my family? She asked

He’s the one behind all the assassinations that happened that year, we haven’t been able to locate him. He’s sure smart enough to have hidden himself well, he’s turned himself anonymous from the world but not us. Now that you know who ruined everything, you should be prepared to face the realities of life, okay? John replied.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrggggggggghhhhhh! She scre-med out of frustration and anger. I can’t believe this, how I wish my sister survived the accident and she’s here to see the shocking news I just heard. But why would he kill my father? He was wealthier than my father was and my father trusted and loved him dearly. Why! Why! Why! She scre-med again amidst tears.

Relax! It’s hærd to take in but you need to let bygone be bygone, leave the past and face the present… He said as he patted her.

I can never forgive him, he ruined me. Can you just find his location right away? Please I’m begging… She said.

You wanna go meet him? You wanna take yourself that he’s been searching for to him directly? You think you’d leave there alive? John said.

I don’t mind being killed, I’ve always wanted to meet my family but I’ll make sure I get rid of him before he does that to me. We’re both gonna die… She has yelled

Do you know how long it took me to get this information? You think I haven’t been finding a means of getting his location? You had better comfort yourself and do as Gabrielle said. You can leave my room now… John said.

Matilda, you don’t look too good what’s wrong? Danielle asked as she got to the sitting room. “I’m fine, I just remembered something that changed my mood”… She replied

Oh! I was thinking you got scolded… Danielle said sounding worried. wait! Is my expression that bad? Matilda asked her and she nodded. “I need to go to my room, please call me if my attention is needed” She said.

“Anita I found who he is” she said to her friend on the phone. What do you mean? Anita asked perturbed. I found the person who wiped my entire family. He’s my father’s friend for goddamn sake… She cried.

Please calm down and stop crying and send me your address, we need to talk but not on phone… Anita replied

“I’m scared and angry I feel like tearing him up” she said again but Anita kept on pacifying her.

“Matilda wash up, you have a visitor” Gabrielle said knocking on her door. Who is it? She asked. “Chris” Gabrielle replied. Please tell him I’ll be with him soon. She said

“I’ll see you some other time” Chris said as he set to leave. I’m looking forward to seeing you here again as well because I can’t remember the last time you set your foot in my house if not for Matilda’s sake… John said

Just make sure you keep taking care of my love, I’ll be back for her soon… He replied teasingly

Did I just hear you say love, like you mean that word exist in your dictionary? John teased too and Gabrielle gave him a middle finger before entering his car.

“Hey Babe! I’m at the front of the house you have me it’s address” Anita said to her on phone. “Are you for real?” Matilda asked

C’mon! will you come get me out of here and stop wasting my precious time… she replied which made Matilda scre-m and ran out of the house.

“She said she’s seeking for you” The gate keeper said as soon as she got there and she nodded. “Let her in please, she shouldn’t be standing out there because she’s a princess” she said.

“Look who sounded as if she’s gonna dies anytime soon” Anita teased as they disengaged from the hug.

C’mon! You know you’re the only pacifier I’ve got. Seeing you has made my worries disappear… She replied sincerely.

Wait here while I go get you something to drink, I don’t know how the boss would react if I take you in,side… She said offering her the chair she sit on whenever she’s with the gatekeeper.

Wow! I can’t believe you’re this caring… their gatekeeper said and she eyed him and laughed before leaving.

Here’s something for your throat… She said giving her a cup of juice. “Thanks babe” Annie replied

And what’s going on here? Wow! so the boss actually allows us to have visitors and entertain them with the utensils we use in the house… Cassandra interrupted.

Why are you here and what’s your business with whatever it is that I’m doing, can’t you just mind your damn business in this house? Must you always meddle in other people’s affairs? Matilda retorted

Who is this thing? Anita asked giving Cassie the look of disgust.

I’m sorry for intruding. I’m Cassandra, Cassie for short. Are you her friend? She replied

Could you just step back and disappear from here? Courtesy demand that you stay out of people’s businesses most importantly discussion when you’re not invited… Anita replied

What’s going on here? Gabriel asked. “I’ll leave now” Cassie said and turned to leave. You dare not!!! Gabriel said in a harsh tone

Isn’t that rude of you to walk out on who you call boss? Anita said and Matilda stepped on her slightly.

Ouch! What’s the problem? Why did you do that!!! She said making a sad face. “Learn how to keep your mouth shut, he’s not the boss but the boss’s brother”… Matilda whispered.

Who is she? Excuse me lady ,who are you? He asked.

I’m her elder sister” Anita replied smiling at him sheepishly.

“Sister?” John and Matilda asked in unison and she nodded

Why are you surprised? Can’t I call you my sister? If not for me where would you have been today, if not because I trained and brought you up well. Would you have been this beautiful lady you are today? Anita teased.

She’s my only friend, I’m sorry I brought her in without the boss’s permission. She rushed down here after hearing how I sounded… Matilda explained

So why is Cassandra here, do you all know one another before? Gabriel asked. “She’s here to query Matilda. I’m sorry for using the household’s cup. I learnt it’s not allowed to entertain visitors with the cups being used by the entire household” Anita replied.

You both can come into the house, you can as well use that opportunity to introduce her to your colleagues. I’m sure my brother won’t be angry, you know he takes things simple… Gabriel said to the two friends. “You can leave now and make sure you don’t do what you’re not asked to do in this house, okay? He said to Cassandra and she nodded.

☀️WEEKS LATER☀️
“Let’s remain silent, she’s coming already” Matilda said to everyone as they had planned a surprise birthday celebration for Gabrielle.

This is unusual, why is everyone asleep by this time, what if the boss sees this. Danielle! Matilda!! Cassandra!!! She called out their names but no one was answered her.

Surprise!!! They all shouted except John immediately she switched the lights on and she flinched. WTF!!! she said and opened her shutted eyes to see what was happening. OMG!!! She scre-med on seeing the people before her. Sir!!! she called on seeing John standing with them.

“Happy birthday girl, we wish you the best in life” They chorused and said their prayers and wishes for her and gave her the gifts they all got for her, including the boss who gave her a new smartphone.

OMG!!! Thank you so much everyone, I feel loved. Thank you so much sir for stopping so low to our level to celebrate with us… She said to John.

You’re welcome. I’ll be leaving now, you all can enjoy the moment while I’m away, but make sure it doesn’t affect your duties tomorrow… He replied and left them.

John I’ll be travelling to New York city in two days time, I’ve got an emergency meeting I have to attend and you know the dinner party is also in two days time, so please I’d like you to attend the party in my sake… John said to his brother.

That won’t be a problem, just make sure you inform your colleagues beforehand… Gabrielle answered “sure I’ll do that” he replied, just then someone came knocking.

“Come in” John said and she entered. “Here I am sir” she said. “Arrange some clothes in my box for me, I’ll be travelling in two days time… He said “And make sure you keep those files in there” he added.

Alright sir! But please make sure you get me something when you’re returning, okay!… She said and winked at him making Gabrielle laugh softly.

Yeah that reminds me, who will I be attending the party with? I think business parties like that requires you going with a partner… Gabriel said.

You can go with Matilda, I’ve forgotten about that. Matilda, you’ll be attending a dinner party with Gabriel in my sake in two days time, so he’ll take you for shopping tomorrow. I’ll make the arrangement of who to make you up and get you ready for the party…John said to her

Me? You mean me? How am I supposed to be at a place I don’t even have an idea of what I’m gonna do and who I’m gonna meet there… She replied.

Well! You’re the only person I feel like choosing among my workers, I don’t think it’s too bad if you represent your boss in am auspicious occasion like that… John replied.

Get yourself prepared, we’ll be going out together tomorrow and make sure you inform others of that… Gabriel interfered

Wow! Make sure you choose a dress that’s gonna suit you perfectly, and don’t hesitate to pick an expensive one, he has the money and you have to look outstanding among other ladies so they’ll know our boss is no joke… Danielle said and her as they discussed in the kitchen.

“Alright ma’am” Matilda replied. Yeah that reminds me, I’ve got different hairstyles on my phone. Let’s check the one that’d fit you perfectly… Cassandra opined

“That’d be great. Let’s see” Matilda replied. This would make me feel like a queen… She said after choosing a style.

CASSANDRA’S POV
“She’ll be attending a dinner party with the boss’s brother, you can send someone to tail them” I texted my boss and waited for his reply. “That’s good, that’s a nice information to get from you” he replied.

Go to the normal s₱0t, you’ll meet someone that’d give you a substance. Pour the substance in her drink or meal and make sure she takes it before leaving. I’ll have the job get done after that… He added

“I have to get some toiletries at the store, I’ll be back soon” I said to the other ladies before leaving since Matilda isn’t available.

Make sure you do as the boss said. It isn’t a poison, it’s just something to disturb her stomach. We’ll kidnap her at the party once she excuses herself to visit the restroom… He said after giving me the bottle that contains the substance.

I went to the mini mart across our street and purchased some toiletries that I wasn’t even needing, since it’s what I lied I was going to get and to avoid suspicion.

THE FOLLOWING DAY
Take this, you should wear it on your neck when going in the evening. It would fit perfectly on the dress… John said handing a necklace box to Matilda.

Wow! Thank you so much, I appreciate this and I love it. I just don’t know how to thank you enough… She replied

It’s nothing, just make sure you comport yourself, don’t cause any trouble… He replied and walked closer to her. “This too would fit perfectly” he said as he fix a clip on her hair. “Thank you” she murmured.

“See the prettiest girl on earth, take a look at me and tell me if you’re this beautiful” she said to Anita as they talked to eachother on facetime. “Wow! I never knew you could be this beautiful, money truly does a lot of transformation in people’s lives” Anita replied as she stared at her with much admiration. I’m glad you met that boss of yours, you look like an adult… She added

I need to go know it’s time for my boss’s departure, we’ll talk some other time… Matilda said.

I’ll be back before evening, you all should take care of yourselves and the house… Gabriel said before joining his brother in the car.

“Hurry up, Gabriel is already waiting downstairs” Gabrielle said to the lady dressing Matilda up. “Yeah she’s true” the lady replied and Matilda stood up. “OMG! You look beautiful and extremely gorgeous. Matilda is this really you? Gabrielle said after a wow escaped her l-ips”

Awwn! Thanks for the compliment and give thanks to the artist right here that did the transformation… She replied.

Don’t mind her, it’s my job and it’s what I got paid for, so please proceed and don’t keep him waiting. Mr John hates it when he arrives late at a place… The lady replied

Wow! My brother didn’t make mistake when choosing the best candidate. You look more matured and beautiful… Gabriel complimented as she got to him.

“Thanks. OMG! I totally forgot my necklace” she said and hurried upstairs without minding the heels on her legs.

“Be careful” Gabriel and others said as she almost missed a step. “Help me fix this on my neck please” she said to the make up artist.

I’ve dropped the juice you asked me to pour for you two, I’ll get it right away so please wait a bit… Danielle said and rushed out of the living room.

“Thanks” Matilda and Gabriel said as they drank some of the portion. “We’ll get going now and will be back soon, so please you all should stay safe and take good care of yourselves while we’re away” Gabriel said.

“Go and come give us the full gist later” the girls whispered to Matilda as they walked her to the car.

“Alright bye” the ladies and the gatekeeper said and waved at them as the driver zoomed off.

“They’ve left just now” Cassandra texted her boss.

“My boys will follow immediately” her boss replied and she smiled mischievously
