Chapter 49&50: BLOOD IN BRIDGEGATE 2

” He knows who I am.” Edward said, collapsing on the chair.
” And he killed two girls in the private room. ” Hanley added.
” Hold on, what’s he doing in the girl’s private room? ” Lunara questioned.
Hanley and Edward shrugged their shoulders.
” Ace, this is indeed getting too far. Something must be done as soon as possible.”
Ace was quiet for a while, he looked thoughtful. ” Ace? ” Hanley called, he looked at her.
” What next?” She asked.
He sighed. ” I need sometime to think. ” He retreats to his room.
” I think you both needs to get some rest too. ” Lunara said and they both nodded in agreement.
Instead of heading to her room, she went to Ace’s room. He was in his usual position. He didn’t make a sign that he knows she was coming.
” Hey.” She said from the door.
He looked at her then takes his gaze off. ” It’s time you stop blaming yourself for all these that is happening. You didn’t ask for it, you didn’t ask for the death of those girls.
And it’s equally not your fault he is after my life. Jefferson wants nothing but destruction, and the only person who can stop him is you. ”
” How? ” He asked, bothered. ” What if I am not what they think I am? My people sees me as a god, everyone worsh¡ps me like I am the almighty. But I’ve looked at myself, I am not any of those. I am not worthy of their trust.”
She heaved. ” You don’t have to command the rain to fall or stop, and you don’t have to breath in air into nostrils before you know you are indeed a great man.
What other people see in you, speaks of how mighty and worthy you are. You don’t have to see it for yourself, you just have to believe in it.
I doubted fate a lot of times, and I doubted you too. But then I realized fate would never lie, I embraced it. Look at me now, loving you more than I can ever imagined.
So, you can do the same. Believe in it, and you can do it. If not for anyone, but for me. I don’t want anything or anyone to take me away from you, and you don’t want that either, do you? ”
Hanley’s words were like a bomb to his heart. They really do mean a lot to him.
He blessed the night the Moon Goddess blessed him with her. What would life be without her by his side? Who would be so understanding and encouraging like her?
” I’m so lucky I have you, Han. You’re the best thing that has ever happened to me.”
She placed her hand on his cheek, ” You’re the best thing that has ever happened to my life. I believe in you, Ace. I believe in you.”

Jefferson wasn’t in school today, yet, Hanley’s got to be careful.
Tight security was adhered in the school, Mr Anderson had requested for CCTV cameras to be mounted at every sides of the school.
This way, they will be able to find out who the real killer is. As if Jefferson knew about this, he skipped class.
” That devil knows what Mr Anderson did that’s why he refused to attend school today. ” Hanley blurted.
” It doesn’t make him a fool. He’s only keeping his peace so as not to be caught. That is smartness. ” Said Edward.
” Smartness my ass. If truly that is smartness, then he should show himself and not hiding. I call that cowardice.” She blurts out.
” By the way, I’ve got class tonight.”
” Night class? ”
” Not really a class, tho. It’s kinda a project for the exam. I have to be there or I’ll get an F. But, you’ll be coming with me. ”

While the project was going on, every one were focused and concentrated on their work.
So the school was so quiet that one can hear whatever that was going on in the headmaster’s office.
The quietness was interrupted by the sound of heavy footsteps. Slowly, it was heading to the room they were.
Someone went to take a look, immediately, he shut the door, bolting it.
” What is that?” Asked the teacher.
” There’s a monster coming. And it’s heading this way.” Replied the boy.
” What monster? ” Asked another. ” L.. L.. like a beast? ”
” Yes, a goddamn beast! ” He said in a loud voice. ” We have to get out of here. We are all gonna die if that thing..” stressing the last two words, ” gets here. ”
Not just the loud footsteps, but the heavy sound of his breath. Like that of a buffalo breathing.
The students forced their way out of the window. Thankfully, the class was close to the ground. So it was much easier for the students to make their way out of the classroom.
As if the creature knew their intentions, his paced increased to a speed. And the entire building was vibrating by the movement of his run.
He banged into the class, but luckily they were all gone. He barged out of the window, leaving an image of his body from the left over glasses.
One by one he dashed on a student, tearing them into pieces, leaving their body scattered in no trace.
” Edward!!” Hanley s¢ræmed his name. ” Edward!!” She held Harmonie’s hand as they kept running tirelessly.
That was the moment Hanley realized that she wasn’t quite familiar with the environment.
And Harmonie wasn’t helping matters at all. She too wasn’t familiar with the school environment.
They were stucked in the middle of nowhere, only hearing s¢ræms and voices of people.
” What the heck is that?!” Cried Harmonie. ” What is happening? ”
” I wish I know. ”
” But what does it wants from us? And how did it know we have night class today? ”
” I am as confuse as you are. So don’t give me those bombarding questions of yours. ” She said, trembling. ” We need to get the hell out of here or we become some used over garbages. ”
” Where in heaven’s name is Mr Edward? ” Harmonie whispered.
The creature was metres away from them, but when he perceived her scent, he stopped walking.
Turning to their direction, he ran in great speed. ” He is coming.” Hanley cried. ” Run!!”
And they both began to run. But it was like they were only catwalking to him.
Closer and closer he got to them. All Harmonie could do was to pray her last prayer.
” Oh lord, have mercy on me. I know I have been a bad daughter, but please let my soul not perish in damnation or my parents finds out what is in my wardrobe. Welcome my soul into your bossom and… Fu*k! ” She s¢ræmed at the sound of his landing.
” Welcome my soul into your bossom, oh lord. And let not my enemies laugh at me. In Jesus name… ”
” Amen. ” Hanley was the first to say the word.
” That was my prayer not yours.”
” At the point of death, there is no ‘my’ but ‘ours.’”
He rowled.
The creature threw himself high that he will land in their body to smash them into smashed tomatoes.
But thankfully, Edward barged into him from the side. They rolled over each other countless times.
Even at the human state, Edward still managed to fight back. The creature held him by his neck, standing to his feet.
” Pitiful.” Growled the creature. He threw Edward’s body afar off, continuing his chase after the two girls.
Edward forced himself to stand, running after him in great speed.
He has never seen himself this fast and stronger before.
They got to the gate, ” Fu*k, it’s locked.” Hanley cursed.
” And that bastard is coming!” Harmonie pointed at the creature who approached in great speed. ” Hanley do something!! He is coming!!”
” What do you want me to do! The fu*king gate is locked from the outside. ”
Hanley held Harmonie’s hand tight, ” Let’s just hope your prayers save us both.”
” If truly we are going to die tonight, I pray we meet in the after life and still be friends. ”
Hanley nod. ” Until we meet in the after life. ” They shut their eyes, as the creature kept coming. ” Good bye, Harmonie. ”
” Good bye, Han. ”
They waited for minutes but they could still feel themselves breathing.
” Hanley, can you hear me?” Harmonie asked, eyes still shut close.
” Loud and clear.”
” Are we really alive? Or is this the after life?”
” I don’t think the after life requires closing the eyes. ” She opened her eyes. ” I think we’ve been w–sting the heck of our time here.”
Harmonie too opened her eyes, there was no creature before them and they are definitely not dead.
” We’re alive!” She exclaimed happily.
” That doesn’t mean the creature is dead. We better find our way out of here or it comes back for us. ”

Two against one.
Edward attacked from behind, while Ace attacked from the front. The fight was so serious, as if it was gonna last for eternity.
Though Edward had to receive bruises because he was in his human form. And Ace who made no effort to give the creature a chance to attack back.
He threw blows and punches at him, smacking his head hærd against the wall and ground.
The creature held his neck, smacking it with its knee. He threw him up, throwing himself high too and with his elbow, he hit Ace to the ground.
Ace gr0-ned.
As he walks to pick him from the ground, Ace was fast to hold his hand, dragging him to the ground. He rolled over him, that he was on the creature.
He grabbed his head tight, smacking it again countless times to the ground.
He held its jaw and head, trying to twist it to the side. But the creature held him by the head, slamming him hærd to the ground and using his fist to hit him by the w–st.
Edward ran, flying high, then landing his elbow on its chest, causing him to growl louder.
This gave Ace the opportunity to attack once again. He ins××ted his both claws into the creature’s ribs, raising him above his head.
Then, landing the beast on his knee, causing a crack to be heard. The creature laid helpless in pain.
Ace grabbed its face, as he dragged it to one side of the school building. His footsteps were like thunder, and he huffed, stretching his neck.
He drops it to the ground, breaking the wall of the building. He brings out a rod, then standing the creature to its feet.
He kicked him that the creature’s body pierced into the iron rod. He bent it against him, making it impossible for the creature to escape.
Slowly, the creature returned back to human. ” Jefferson.” Ace said in a deep voice. ” I have been wanting to meet you.”
Jefferson kept breathing faintly, blood rolled out from the sides of his mouth.
” Hello, Ace.”
Ace smirked evilly. ” Punny wolf.” He scoffs, walking away from him to where Edward stood.
Gradually, at each step he took, he was transforming back to his human form. ” Is he dead?” Edward asked.
” No. I’m not done with him yet, this is just the beginning. Tonight is not the time to kill him. What about you, are you okay? ” He asked back.
Edward nods his head.
