Gia’s POV
Adrian and I were still outside thinking of the next step to take when Bellatrix began to cry
“Shhh little girl, this is not the time to cry” I said as I try to make her quiet but she only cried louder
“What’s wrong with her?” Adrian asked
“She’s probably hungry, or she misses her mother” I said and Adrian scoffed
“We are already at risk of being killed because she’s here with us, do we have to go through this too?” Adrian said frustrated
“This might actually work in our favor Adrian, do you know the one weakness every old folk has? Babies” I smiled as I walked with crying Bellatrix to the cottage of the old woman that had shut the door on me
“Hello? Ma’am?! Please can you help us? My baby is sick and I have no idea what to do? She won’t stop crying no matter what I do” I said as I repeatedly knocked on her door and Adrian came to join me
“Please help us out, we are travellers and we have no food at all and our baby is sick too, we have no idea what to do please help us, don’t let our baby die on us please” Adrian said with a cracking voice as he knocked on the door and Bellatrix continued to cry
The door suddenly opened revealing the old woman
She brought out her hand indicating for me to give her the child and I hesitated
“Give her sweetheart, she’s trying to help us” Adrian said and I handed Bellatrix over to the woman
She walked in with Bellatrix and we followed her in
The interior of her cottage was pretty empty, nothing out of the necessities were here
She laid Bellatrix on an arm chair and went off m to her basket, bringing out a cucumber from it
She squeezed the cucumber juice into the Bella’s mouth feeding her
She looked so calm and happy feeding Bellatrix and I knew I had to make use of this opportunity
“Thank you so much for helping us ma’am, the truth is our….. our baby has being sick for a while now and we’ve been looking for healers that can cure her but we never found one” I said and the woman shook her head and made to hand Bellatrix back to me
“What my wife meant is that our baby is cursed” Adrian said and I looked at him surprised
Cursed?!
“Before she was even born, a powerful witch placed a magical curse on her, a curse that granted so much power that it will drive her crazy when she begins to grow up, she’s cursed to be a very powerful witch that will bring nothing but destruction upon everyone, this father has travelled far and wide to break this curse placed upon his only child but it was all fruitless, I was advised by various healers and fortunetellers to kill her as she’s still an infant cause she’s destined to cause great havoc when she grows, but I can’t bring myself to kill her, she’s my child, my only child, when we thought all hope was lost, we heard of Mordor” Adrian said and at the mention of Mordor, the woman’s eyes widened with surprise
“We were told the place really existed and since it’s a magic free place, my child will be free of her curse over there and that’s why we came here, we heard that people here knows the route Mordor and we came to plead you to please take us there and save our child” Adrian said as he went on his knees
The women looked at us for a moment and tried to hand Bellatrix back to us again so I quickly went on my knees too
“Please ma’am, help us save my baby, I can never bring myself to kill her, she’s the only one I have, Mordor is the only place that she’ll be free of the curse she was born with, my baby girl doesn’t deserve this, she always looks so peaceful and innocent and I want to maintain that” I said and the woman stared at Bellatrix so I went on
“She doesn’t deserve to be killed as a child, neither does she deserve to live her whole life manifesting a curse she knows nothing of, please help us, lead us to Mordor and save our baby, save my baby” I tried my best to sound like I was going to cry
“Please help us, help us save our baby” Adrian continued “She’s the only one I have, I’m sure you understand how I feel, you must have children too” Adrian said and the woman stood and placed Bellatrix on her armchair
She went to another basket she kept by the window and brought out what looked like a limestone
She came to sit in front of us and began to scribble something on the ground with the limestone
“I do have children, but I’ll never see them again till I die” she wrote
She’s talking to us! She’s really talking to us!!
I tried my best to hide my excitement
“What happened to your children? Why can’t you ever see them again?” Adrian asked
“They are there in Mordor and I am out here and I can never go back inside, your baby reminded me of my children” she wrote
“Why can’t you ever go back to Mordor?” I asked
“To maintain the magic and sacredness of Mordor, no one must die within the walls of the mystical city, so whenever anyone is getting old or very sick they are brought out here and they live here till they die, just like me” she wrote
“And you guys took an oath of silence too when you are being brought out?” Adrian asked
“Not an oath of silence, there’s a witch here, she cast the spell that makes us unable to speak forever in order to protect our younger generation that are still in Mordor and to protect the secrecy of the place, but your child is sick and she can only survive in Mordor, I am a mother too so I understand but I am afraid I cannot help you” she wrote
“But why? Mordor is our baby’s only chance at survival and you said you know the route” I said
“I do know the route to the entrance but it’s of no use because to open the entrance, you need the night stone, and I do not have that” she wrote looking sad
“Night stone? Do you know where we can get it from?” Adrian asked
“There’s only one night stone here in the outside world and it is in the hands of the witch that lives here with us” the old woman wrote
“The witch that cast the spell that makes you unable to speak forever?” I asked and she nodded
“Where is she? The witch? I could plead with her to help us” I said
“No, you must not meet her, she’s a strong witch and I’m sure she will kill me too if she finds out that I told you about Mordor” she wrote
“But we mean no harm, we just want to save our baby and I promise I won’t mentioned it to her that I spoke with you” I said
“My wife will go and persuade this witch to lend her the night stone so tell me the route to the entrance of Mordor” Adrian said
“She’s never going to give you the stone willingly” the woman wrote
“I am a mother, I will be able to persuade her just like I was able to persuade you so tell me where she is” I said
She looked for a moment and sighed
“Her cottage is on the right, four houses away from mine” she wrote and I stood up
“I’ll be back” I said as I walked towards the door and Adrian walked up to me
“Be careful, she said the witch is powerful” Adrian said
“You need to worry, I’m sure the witch is of no match for me and I will definitely get the night stone” I said
“Fine, I’ll stay here and try to get her to tell me the route to the entrance of Mordor” Adrian said and I nodded……

Gia’s POV
I walked to the witch’s cottage which wasn’t that far away, it was already pretty dark and everyone seemed to have retired back to their abode and I was the only one walking around
I knocked on the witch’s cottage but there was no response so I opened the door and walked in
“Hello? Anyone here?” I asked as I looked around
“Bír nëén ulåas” someone sudden shouted repeatedly from behind me and I felt my head ache so badly like my skull was breaking apart
I clutched my head and slowly turn around to see the witch that was casting the spell on me
“Ahhh!!” I screamed as I grasped her throat tightly with my hand and she was unable to cast the spell again
“I was going to be soft with you and give you a merciful death after I get the night stone but you do not deserve that” I said
“I…..I will never….. give…..give you the…… night stone” she stuttered and I smiled
“You are of no use to me then and I will have to find the night stone myself” I said as I snapped her neck and she fell on the floor lifeless
I began to search the cottage, messing up the whole place up yet I couldn’t find the night stone
“Where the bloody hell could the night stone be?!” I said frustrated
I searched the dead witch, all of her belongings yet I found nothing
I paced around the cottage, thinking about where she could have possibly hid the stone
The floor creaked as I paced around and I stopped, I noticed the floor was covered with wood and the spot I currently stood on seemed to be a little bit unstable
I quickly bent down and tried to rip open the wood that covered that part of the floor but the wood just wouldn’t bulge so I placed my palm over the spot on the floor and freeze the wood, then I was able to break it apart easily
And there it was, an oddly shaped, dark and shiny stone
“This must be it” I said as I picked it up and I ran back to the old woman’s cottage
They both looked at me immediately I walked in
“Did you get it?” Adrian asked
“Took a lot of persuasion but she agreed to lend it to me” I said
“She has also told me the route to Mordor” Adrian said and I smiled
“Thank you so much ma’am, we can never repay you enough” I said as I picked up sleeping Bellatrix from her armchair
“How will you return the stone?” she wrote
“Ummm…… the witch, she agreed to take us there and return back with the stone” I lied
“Then be on your way before she changes her mind then” the woman wrote and I nodded
“Of course, thank you very much, our child is safe because of your help, thank you” I said as I walked out along with Adrian
“Wait Gia, one minute” Adrian said as he turned around, walking back to the old woman’s cottage
“Where are you going?!” I asked but he had already entered her cottage so I stood outside, waiting
Moments later, he came out of the cottage, his hands and face stained with blood
“What the bloody hell did you do Adrian?”
“She had to die” Adrian said
“But why? She is just an old woman” I said
“She’s weak, just like she easily told us about Mordor, she will tell Dianna about it too with just a little persuasion” Adrian said and I sighed
“Fine, I guess you are right, we have to cover up our tracks” I said
“The witch? Did you kill her?” Adrian asked and I nodded
“Good, let’s go” he said
Ivan’s POV
We drove for the whole day and it was already getting dark but we were getting pretty close to Taciturn Creek
“Do I take a right here?” Dianna asked and I nodded
We soon got to the creek, and we got down from the car
“This place looks more silent and peaceful than I expected” Dianna said
“It’s nighttime, they must all be asleep” Ethan said
“Doesn’t matter to me cause I’m searching each and everyone of this cottages till I find my baby girl” Dianna said as she walked towards one of the cottages
“So we are conducting separate searches right?” Ethan asked
“No, I heard there’s a witch that lives here and can be very dangerous so you are staying with me” I said and Ethan sighed
“I think sometimes you forget that I am the Guardian of The Hell Gates and as such, very powerful too” Ethan said
“Follow me quietly” I said ignoring his previous statement
We began to search the cottages too and each one we broke into housed only a sleeping old man or woman
We got to one of the cottages and we met a dead body, the place was scattered and a part of the floor was ripped
“Stay behind me” I said to Ethan as I examined the ripped out part of the floor, I could see tiny pieces of ice on the floor and I knew Gia was here
I looked back and saw Ethan examining the dead body on the floor
“What are you doing?!”
“She was a witch” Ethan said standing up
“And her body is still warm which means she was killed not too long ago
We walked out of the cottage and Dianna was coming towards us too looking scared
“I found a dead body of an old woman in one of the cottages too but I can’t find them, I can’t find my baby!” Dianna cried out
“Can you try to track Gia from here?” I asked Ethan
“I can try” he said and began to mutter his spell but he suddenly stopped
“What happened? Why did you stop?” Dianna asked
“I…. my magic can’t get through, it’s like she no longer exists” Ethan said
“Or she’s at a place your spells can’t get to” I said and Dianna looked at me horrified
“So they really went to Mordor with my baby? Will I never see my baby again?” Dianna cried as she went on her knees
“We will find her” I said to her
“How? She’s at a place magic can’t get to, even with all the covens of witches in the world, we’ll never be able to find her, my baby is gone, she’s gone away from me, to a place I cannot reach” Dianna cried out
“I told you, Gia is not going to kill her” Ethan said
“But she will raise her into a monster!!” Dianna yelled
“She will raise her and use her as a weapon of havoc, my child will grow up to live a caged life where she’s being controlled by Gia! That is not the life I wanted for her! I never wanted my child to live a cursed life like I did!”
“Gia will not be able to do anything bad to Bellatrix” I said
“How do you know that?!” she asked
“She has proved that she isn’t the Gia we used to know, she has proved that she will go to any length to get what she wants, she wants to be the most powerful one, she wants to rule everyone and she’s going to use my baby girl to do that!!”
“She will not Dianna so stop freaking out so much, Gia will not do anything that will ever hurt your child, she will not use your child as a weapon because she’s just as attached to that little girl as much as you are, do you not remember Dianna? We fought and defied everything just to bring Bellatrix to this world, we gave have her birth together, while I Aria ripped her out of your stomach, we all felt the exact pain you felt, our stomach was ripped apart and we bled just like you bled, Gia might have forgotten now but Bellatrix will remind her, she will remind her the love Gia once felt for her just like she reminded me, it only took a moment of me holding her in my arms and she looking into my eyes with a smile for me to realize that I could never do anything to harm her” I said as I remembered the moment I went to take Bellatrix’s blood
………I poked her finger with the pin and collected a few drops of her blood into the bottle
I expected the baby to cry but she did not, she was just staring at my face with her deep innocent eyes and with a smile plastered on her face…….
“Just like she reminded me with just an innocent stare, she will remind Gia too, she will remind her that she’s the little girl she once fought for with all her strength, she will remind her that she is family”…….
