Dianna’s POV
I opened my eyes and I noticed it was dawn and the sun was slowly coming out
I tried to move but I soon realized that I was chained to a large boulder of rock, I tried to move, to break the chains apart but it wasn’t working, the chain seemed too strong

“Don’t stress it Dianna, you can’t break away from the chains” Adrian said

“I can break away from anything” I said as I continued to struggled to break free

“Not if the the chain was spelled by your own daughter to make it unbreakable” Adrian said and I stopped struggling

“You made my little girl carry out such a spell?”

“Of course, it was a piece of cake for her as she didn’t need to chant anything, she only thought of it and it was done” Adrian said

“You are using my daughter against me, you told her lies about me and you brainwashed her to become your puppet!” I said as my whole body slowly started to flame up, the raging hex, it was getting harder to keep it in control

“Oh calm down Dianna” Adrian said moving back as the flame overshadowed me

“What’s going on Dad?” Bellatrix asked waking up from her sleep

“Stay back Bellatrix, Dianna is trying to escape so she can kill us all” Adrian said

“What?! But you said the chain I conjure will keep her in place” Bellatrix said

“It is keeping her in place, that chain is the only reason she hasn’t ripped out our hearts yet” Adrian said

“What should we do?” Bellatrix asked

Layla’s POV
I moved around the woods with the three human guards that accompanied me from the Mansion
We heard some voices in the woods and we moved in the direction of those voices

“Dianna?!” I called as I saw her tied to a boulder, her whole body aflame
It’s the raging hex, if the raging hex is activated then that means she has seen her child, she has seen Bellatrix

“Who are you people?” A man asked and on seeing him, I knew he was the Adrian Hunter, the man that used to be the head of the humans and beside him stood a beautiful girl, obviously Bellatrix Hammington
Staring into Adrian’s eyes I could read his mind and I knew everything he was up to, and he was up to no good at all

“I just asked you who you guys are” Adrian repeated

“They are here to free their queen” I said and Adrian laughed

“Who is their queen? You don’t mean Dianna do you?” he asked

“As a matter of fact I do, so it will be better for you to give her back to us voluntarily before we make you” I said

“The 3 men behind you are with guns and that means they are humans, you on the other hand came empty handed which means you are a witch, I have dealt with guns my whole life so I am not afraid of those men behind you…”

“But you are afraid of me aren’t you?” I asked

“I would’ve been but what is there to be afraid of when I have the most powerful witch on Earth by my side, freeze them Bellatrix” Adrian suddenly said and Bellatrix came forward staring at us intently
I quickly tried to counter her spell but it was too late, she might still be a kid but her spell was very fast and powerful and I found myself unable to even twitch a finger

“I told you I have nothing to be afraid of” Adrian said as he moved towards the men that came with me

“You might want to close your eyes Bellatrix, you do not want to see this” Adrian said and Bellatrix shut her eyes

Snatching the men’s guns from their hands, Adrian shot each of them dead and then he pointed his gun at me

“You ready to die witch?” he asked

“Killing me will be digging your own grave Adrian Hunter” I said

“How are you still so confident when you cannot move an inch and I have a gun pointed at you?!”

“Ummm….. Dad? She’s melting the rock away” Bellatrix said and Adrian saw the rock Dianna was chained to slowly turning into of hot larva, she’s going to be free soon

Ivan’s POV
I stopped the car outskirts of Arcane City and Ethan and I walked into the woods

“You think she’s here?” Ethan asked

“She has to be, you saw their cars packed outside didn’t you?” I said and Ethan nodded
We walked deeper into the woods and we soon saw them, Layla stood still and Adrian was pointing a gun at her

“What the hell is going on? Why isn’t she moving?” Ethan asked and we both began to run towards them

Adrian saw us running towards him and he panicked
“Run Bellatrix!!” he said to the little girl beside him and they both took to their heels and as they began to run, Adrian looked back and shot the gun at Layla

“Layla!!”
“No!!!”

Ethan and I were able to grab Layla before she fell to the ground, she was shot on the stomach

“Stay with me Layla” I said as I applied pressure on her gunshot wound to prevent the blood from spurting out

“Let me try to heal her” Ethan said and I removed my hand from her stomach and her blood began to gush out
Ethan covered the wound with his hand and began to chant his spells

“Don’t close your eyes Layla, look at me, continue to look at me” I said I tried to keep the eye contact with Layla

“What happened?” I heard Eric’s voice behind me and I looked up to see him with Gia

“Adrian, he ran that way, get him and do not let him escape” I said and Eric and Gia ran in the direction that I pointed

“It’s not working, the spell is not healing her” Ethan said

“What the hell do you mean it’s not working, you said you’ll be able to heal her!!” I yelled

“I….. I don’t know what’s wrong, the bullet penetrated too deep, I can’t heal her” Ethan cried

“Yes you can heal her Ethan, you are the bloody Guardian of the Hell Gates damn it!!” I yelled as a tear rolled down my face

“I…..I can’t believe you….two are crying be…. because of me” Layla stuttered

“Stop talking Layla, you are exhausting an energy that you do not have” I said

“I’ll continue trying all other spells I know, you’ll be fine Layla, I’ll heal you” Ethan said as he began to chant a different spell

“Stop” Layla said weakly “It’s of no use, I am beyond saving”

“No don’t say that! I….I can save you I know I can, I just need to figure out the right spell to use but my head is a puddle of confusion right now and I can’t seem to concentrate” Ethan said as the tears flowed down his face

“Will you stop crying?!! Layla is not dying so you better concentrate and figure out a spell to heal her with because there’s no way I’m going to let her die!” I said

“Oh but you are crying too Ivan” Layla said and then she coughed

“I said not to talk Layla” I said and she shook her head

“You two are so similar you know, after all the years, Ethan is growing up to become exactly like you but unlike you Ivan, he won’t be lonely cause he will have you and knowing that brings joy to my heart so I don’t have any regrets even if I die right now” Layla said

“Why did you come here in the first place Layla? Why do you have to care so much about everyone? Dianna doesn’t deserve your care, now you ended up this way because of her!” I said and she shook her

“No Ivan, do not blame Dianna, I came here for her because she is your family and I consider her as mine too, family….. family don’t need to deserve your care before you give it to them” Layla said and she coughed vigorously again, her mouth spurting out blood

“No Layla, no, do not leave me Layla, I know I’ve been stubborn and disrespectful to you but I’ve come to see you as the mother I never had, do not abandon me, please, this is too much of a punishment for me” Ethan cried

“Oh boy, I’m honoured you began to regard me as your mother Ethan, I am honored that I am loved so much by both of you, my only regret right now is that I….I won’t be alive to make sure it isn’t you, I…..I had a vision Ivan, a Hammington will die, Ethan is safe as……as he’s not a Hammington but you Ivan, promise me….. promise me you’ll make sure it is not you that dies”

“Layla….”

“I said p…. promise me” she repeated and I nodded

“I promise”

“I’ve lived a pretty long life, I guess it’s….. it’s time for this old woman to finally take a rest” Layla said

“No” Ethan shook his head clasping onto Layla’s hand

“I’m…. I’m sorry Ethan, I….. I wish I could stay longer with you but unfortunately….. unfortunately I cannot” Layla said and them she looked at me

“Thank you for saving me from death when I was just a little girl, thanking you for giving me the best life anyone could ask for, you are a great man, it was nice knowing you Ivan Hammington, and the pleasure was all mine” she smiled………

Eric’s POV
Gia and I chased Adrian and Bellatrix but they were far ahead of us in the woods and soon we lost sight of them

“I can’t see them anymore, what are we going to do?” Gia asked

“I haven’t heard the sound of their car so it means they are still here in the woods” I said

“I guess we have to fish them out then” Gia said

“Do you still remember? The years we spent together in the woods after we were cursed?” I asked and Gia nodded

“Of course, when Dianna and Ivan were out, we’ll go deep into the woods to find animals to kill and eat” Gia said and I smiled

“So do you still remember your tracking skills?” I asked

“How can I ever forget” she said

“I didn’t forget too, so shall we bring back our tracking skills and go hunting together again sister?” I asked and she nodded

“Let’s proceed brother” she said and we both chuckled

Ethan’s POV
Layla suddenly stopped speaking, her words ended with her thanking Ivan and she suddenly became silent

“What happened? Why did she stop talking? Why isn’t she saying anything again Ivan, why?!” I yelled at Ivan who was staring blankly at Layla as the tears rolled down his face

Seeing Ivan cry made me realize that this was no dream nor illusion, Layla is really dead, she’s dead
My hands began to tremble as an anger cursed through my being

“I am going to kill him, I am going to cut off his head and shred him into pieces” I said as I stood up but on getting on my feet, I was faced with fiery Dianna

“Move back Ethan, Dianna is out of control, she’s under the influence of the raging hex” Ivan said moving up to my front

“It’s good then, if she’s in the raging hex then I can fight her with all of my powers without holding back and I do really need to fight someone right now” I said

“So do Ethan, so do I” Ivan said

“Then what do you say about using raging Dianna as punching bag?” I asked

“It is too good an offer to refuse” Ivan said as he landed the first punch on Dianna’s fiery face

Adrian’s POV
Eric and Gia chased us, holding Bellatrix’s hand, we both ran as fast as we could till we were able to escape them and we found an old abandoned shed in the woods to hide

“I think Mom, Mom was with that guy chasing us wasn’t she?” Bellatrix asked

“Yes, yes she was” I said

“Why would she do that? Why would she be with the people that wants to kill us?” she asked

“Because she wants to kill us too, I told you she’s just as evil as her sister and everyone in that family, she got attached to you for a while in Mordor but since you didn’t obey her and you escaped from Mordor with me, she isn’t too happy about that, and now she wants to kill you again”

“Why?…. Why does everyone want to kill us now? We are never going to be able to escape from them” Bellatrix said

“You will help us escape Bellatrix, I told you are very powerful, more powerful than any of them, you are still discovering the extent of your powers and when you finally perfect how to use your powers, we will go for them all and we will make them suffer”

Ethan’s POV
Ivan and I had expend all our anger and power raging Dianna and we were finally to put her down as she passed out
We both sat on the ground, looking at Layla’s and Dianna’s body

“I still can’t believe we’ve really lost her” I said “I should’ve been more nice to her, I should have treated her better, I was always rude to her”

“She knew what was in your heart, she knew you cared” Ivan said

“Now I can understand how you felt when Sophie died, your grief was different from mine back then, I wasn’t there when my sister died, the news was only delivered to me and it broke me so much but you were there, you were there when she died and yet you couldn’t do anything to save her, the helplessness you felt then, I felt it today, Layla was dying right in front of me and I was unable to save her, that feeling of helplessness is agonizing”

“Deal with it Ethan and take solace in the fact that when we’ve put Layla to rest, I will find Adrian and I will give him the most agonizing death possible, this is a promise I’ve made to myself, one I must fulfill” Ivan said “I’ll take Dianna, you take Layla, let’s get them back home”

Ivan went to lift up Dianna and I went to where Layla laid
I placed my palm over her face, closing her open eyes and I carried her in my arms as we both walked out of the woods

Gia’s POV
“Here, there are some foot prints here” I said as I examined the ground and Eric came to join

“These looks fresh” he said

“Exactly, and look at the different sizes, those prints are big and these are small” I said

“You are right, the big ones are Adrian’s and the small ones are Bellatrix’s, they really did pass through here” Eric said

We followed the prints and it suddenly disappeared
“Where did they go from here? There’s no prints to follow anymore” I said

“That’s because the sand thinned out here, you can’t get much of a foot print stepping on mostly rocks can you? And there seems to be a shed just up ahead” Eric said

“You think they are there?”

“Only one way to find out” Eric said and we walked towards the shed

“If they are really there then get Bella and leave Adrian to me, I must kill him myself” I said

“Then I guess you’ll be needing this” Eric said handing me the golden dagger

“You are giving me the golden dagger?” I asked surprised

“It’s the only dagger with me” he said

“So you are trusting me it?” I asked

“I’d trust you with my life, just make his death is a brutal one, he killed Layla, he deserves an agonizing death” Eric said

“I won’t fail you brother”

Adrian’s POV
I stayed behind the door, peeping out occasionally, and then I saw Eric and Gia coming towards the shed and I quickly closed the door

“Oh no” I said

“What’s wrong Dad?” Bellatrix asked

“They are coming, Gia and Eric, they are coming here”

“What should I do? What can I do?” Bellatrix asked

“I can’t ask you to make a boundary spell cause those people have already proven they can break any boundary set up to cage them and there’s no back door here for us to escape through, there’s nothing you can do now Bellatrix, I’ll handle things now, just follow my lead and if I end up leaving you alone with that guy coming with Gia then escape from him, at all cost and we’ll meet outside the woods, you remember where I packed the car we came here with?” I asked and Bellatrix nodded

“You wait for me there okay?”

“Okay” Bellatrix said

I peeped through the door again and they were just few steps from the shed so I opened the door and I stepped out with Bellatrix

“Stop, don’t kill us, please” I said

“Oh you bet I’m gonna kill you” Gia said as he ran towards me and punched my face

“Mom” Bellatrix muttered and she looked at her

“I’m sorry sweetheart, for hiding your truth about your family from you, I’m sorry but this man here is evil, he is an enemy and he deserves to die, he is not your father and he doesn’t deserves to be, he’s a manipulator” Gia said and then looked me again

“I am so going to kill you Adrian” she said as she punched my face again with her freezing hand and I fell to the floor

“You come with me sweetheart” Eric said trying to take Bellatrix away

“No, she’s beating my dad” Bellatrix said

“He is not your Dad and I have no time to explain Bella, it’s nice meet you after six years and I’m sorry about this but you aren’t old enough witness any bloody scene so I must take you away” Eric said as he lifted Bellatrix up, taking her away

“You aren’t really going to kill me are you?” I asked

“I was given the task to kill you in the most brutal way possible so you bet I am” Gia said as she grabbed my arm, twisting back and breaking my bone

“No!!!!” I screamed in pain

“Why are you so loud? I’m only just starting Adrian” she said as she brought out a dagger, the golden dagger

“What are you going to do?” I asked as I slowly trudged back

“I’m going to cut your chest open Adrian and then I’m going to break your ribs before finally ripping your rotten heart out” Gia said

“Wait Gia, one moment, you cannot do this to me Gia, you…. you love me” I said

“Not anymore Adrian” she said

“But I do still love you, I only escaped Mordor with Bellatrix and without your knowledge because you were begining to lose focus of what we had planned from the beginning, we planned on ruling the world together Gia”

“I’m not interested anymore, I don’t want to rule the world with you, I want to end you and go back to my family, if they will forgive me and take me back” she said

“But can you really bring yourself to kill me? I look exactly like Micheal and you truly loved Micheal, look into my eyes and tell me you can really bring yourself to kill me” I said

“I…..I…..” I noticed her slowly lowering her dagger so I quickly snatched the dagger from her and swiftly plunged it into her heart, then I made a run for it, without looking back……
