Ethan’s POV
It was almost nightfall and I walked into the Mansion, I had conjured a magical amulet for Dianna, one that kept her in control and protected her from the raging hex, she did a lot of damages today and Eric was barely able to contain her so he’s totally exhausted and in his room now
Do I regret cursing Dianna with the hex? Yes I do, I feel bad, living with The Hammingtons for the past years I’ve come to understand the kind of relationship they have, the kind of bond they share, a thousand year old estranged bond that still waxed strong especially in the presence of a common enemy, no one has ever gone against the Hammingtons and lived to tell the tale, Aria and Drusilla are examples, and it’s just a matter of time but soon, Adrian shall join that example

Adrian’s POV
The sun had escaped from the sky, letting the moonlight be the sky’s source of light and I knew it was time
I got words from Vincent that they have positioned themselves stealthily outside the Hammington mansion and I grabbed my gun

“You are taking that with you?” Ivan asked

“Well I can’t go without a weapon can I? You’ve got your powers and I’ve got this” I said and he nodded

“I won’t be using my powers for tonight Adrian, I’ve got something else prepared to use, but anyways, suite yourself, let’s proceed” he said

We got into the car and I drove to the Hammington mansion
We met with the people Vincent gathered and they confirmed the security is quite weak now as it is nightfall so we’ll only meet a handful of men guarding the entrance

“You ready Ivan? No funny games remember?” I said

“I told you before, I don’t do games” he said as he proceeded to walk into the Mansion and we followed suite

We stepped into the mansion and we saw no guard at all, the entrance of the Mansion had not even one security to hold us back

“That’s weird, is the mansion always left so unprotected?” I asked

“I sent all the guards home some minutes ago” Dianna said walking down the stairs along with Eric and Ethan

“We didn’t want them here” Eric said

“So they won’t witness the bloodshed that is about to happen” Ethan completed as they came to stand in front of us

“Bloodshed? The only blood that’s about to be shed right now is yours” I said and I suddenly heard the door closing and we turned around

“Bellatrix?!!” I called as I saw her closing the door

“We are taking a precaution so no one will escape” she said

“We? What the are you talking about Bellatrix? What the hell are you doing here?” I asked, surprised

“You make sure to stand outside sweetheart” Dianna said as everyone ignored my question

“But why Mom, I want to witness this” Bellatrix said

“You aren’t old enough to witness the bloody scene that’s about to happen here Bella” Eric said

“I told you didn’t I? You are only but seven and as such, only a kid” Ethan said

“A kid?! I told you I don’t like being called that!” Bellatrix made an angry pout

“Just lock the door from outside Bellatrix, and don’t open till you here my voice telling you to do so” Dianna said

“Fine” Bellatrix said and proceeded to locking us in from outside the door

“What the hell just happened?!” I asked

“I think we’ve been tricked Adrian” Vincent said

“That’s not possible” I said and looked at Ivan
“Well what are you waiting for, we should kill them all right now!!” I yelled and he laughed

Ivan’s POV
“What…..what….. why are you laughing?” Adrian stuttered and I punched him in the face

“That’s for the stress of making me go through out today just to convince you to trust me” I said

“What do you mean by that? You lied to me?!”

“That’s one way to put it” Ethan said

“Did you really think Ivan and I will fight and he’ll just go leaving like that? And he will really agree to work with the psychopath that killed our sister?” Eric asked

“Did you really think our bond is so weak?” Dianna said as he moved closer to me and I slowly moved back

“We all put up an act for you all, Ivan leaving, me going berserk and burning buildings, it was all a well planned act, you were surprised to see Bellatrix weren’t you? Well when you killed Gia you made a little mistake of leaving Bellatrix alone with Eric, Eric is her uncle did you really think he’ll not be able to convince her of what the truth is with just a few minutes with her?” Dianna said

“Oh Bellatrix was pretty stubborn, I’d give her that and I think she got that from you sister” Eric said

“I think stubbornness was more of Gia’s personality” I said

“But anyway before coming to meet you at your designated meeting place, Bellatrix stopped to think and she decided to hear us out, so she contacted us, I know she’s an innate one but I still don’t know how she managed to pull it off, she contacted me, before I even knew of Gia’s death, she contacted me when I was unconscious, I was able to tell her all that happened and I told her to just stick by your side as we’ll get her away from you soon, when I got news of Gia’s death and after we’ve put her to rest, I asked Ethan to help me contact her again and with his powers, we were able to and she told us you are on your way to Arcane City, and that was when we made this plan, we knew you won’t be coming here if you had no one to back you up, news travel fast in Arcane so we decided to put on a show and give you the perception of a broken family but we never thought your man was actually working here in the mansion, when I got that news I told Ivan to play the charade a little longer, Vincent became an insider for you and he recruited you all, my workers, to fight against me, what better chance than this to root myself of all disloyal servants? You’ve all decided to fight against your Queen so you shall meet your death today” Dianna stated

“You all deceived me” Adrian said

“Oh no Adrian, I do remember telling you two truths, first I told you if I wanted you dead you’d be dead already, since Dianna requested, I had to keep acting a little longer so we could root out all the disloyal servants else I’d have gutted out your throat when you approached me at the bar” I said

“What’s….. what’s the second truth?” Adrian asked

“I told you I don’t need my powers for tonight, I have something else prepared” I said and I looked at Ethan

“Where is it? My weapon?” I asked and Ethan went behind the chair and dragged out an axe

“Your weapon” he said as he handed it to me and I slowly began to walk towards Adrian with it and he moved back with each step I took towards him

“I am going to butcher every part of your body Adrian, then I’ll ask Ethan to heal you, then I’ll butcher them again, and ask Ethan to heal you again and I will continue that cycle till I get tired or Ethan is no longer able to heal you and when that happens, we are going to cut your back open, hang you up with your flesh in front of the mansion and let the eagles feed on you till you finally breath your last”…..

Ivan’s POV
“Before that, let’s take care of the erring servants shall we?” Eric said and Vincent immediately went on his knees

“I’m sorry, I….. I made a mistake, it won’t happen again, please spare us” Vincent pleaded along with everyone else as they went on their knees too

“Oh please, don’t make this uninteresting, I was expecting a fight from you guys” Dianna said

“They know they stand no chance against us, they are trying to be smart, trying to plead for their survival” Ethan said

“But unfortunately, I am not so forgiving” Dianna said as she grabbed Vincent’s throat and ripped out his heart with her fiery hand

Everyone else began to race towards the door and Eric and Ethan joined Dianna in killing them all

“I guess you are left for me then, I told you there was no point in bringing that gun, it’s practically useless now” I said to Adrian

“There is still one of you that can be killed by a gun” he said as he swiftly turned and aimed at Ethan

“No!!!” I yelled as I pushed him to the ground but he already made the shot and I heard Ethan groan

“Ethan!!!”

“I’m fine, I’m fine, the bullet only grazed my arm, I’m good” he said as he continued to fight the servants

“You bloody fool” I said as I kicked the gun far away from him and grabbing the axe, I struck his leg and he let out a shrieking scream as blood gushed out of his leg

“That is for trying to act smart when you should be pleading for your life!!!” I yelled as I struck his other leg and he screamed yet again

“That is for trying to turn Bellatrix against her family!” I raise my axe to strike him again and he let out a scream of anguish

“No please, stop, stop, please” he pleaded

“Stop? Did you say stop? But I’m only just starting Adrian, I am yet to punish you for killing Layla and Gia” I said

“Please, I’m sorry, I’m in….. I’m so much pain” his voice shivered

“This is only the begining of your pain” I said as I struck him with the axe again and he let out a wail
I noticed how fast he was bleeding so I called Ethan

“You can heal him right?” I asked

“For him to suffer all over again? Of course I’ll heal him, I’ll try my best to” Ethan said as he began to chant his spells, slowly healing Adrian’s butchered leg and soon he was done

Dianna came to my side with blood splashed all over her face and grabbed the axe from me
“It’s my turn” she said and began to strike Adrian with the axe
His screams filled the mansion and Dianna finally stopped

“That is for Layla and my sister” she said as she dropped the axe and Ethan began to heal Adrian again

“No, no please let me die, just let me die now please” he cried

“Death is a mercy for you” Eric said as he picked up the axe
“You cannot die yet Adrian, not when I’ve not even done anything to you yet, you killed my twin sister, there’s no suffering that can ever make up for what you did but with each strike from this axe, I shall relish in your screams Adrian” Eric said and he began to strike Adrian with the axe severally, his blood splashed on us all, his screams were deafening but Eric won’t stop and with each strike on Adrian’s body, Eric laughed, he was laughing yet a tears rolled down his face and I stopped him

“That’s enough Eric” I said as I snatched the axe from him

“Can you still heal him?” Dianna asked Ethan and he bent down to examine him

“No I can’t, the damage is too much this time around” Ethan said

“I guess it’s enough of the axe then” Dianna said as she brought out a dagger

“What are you going to do?” Ethan asked

“Exactly what Ivan said, I’m going to cut his back open, hang him up with his flesh in front of the mansion and let the eagles feed on him till he takes his last rotten breath” Dianna said

“Hang him in front of the mansion? Bellatrix is right outside” Ethan said

“Then take her to somewhere else cause we are not done with Adrian yet” I said and Ethan nodded and walked towards the door

“You guys know what to do” Dianna said and Eric and I grabbed Adrian from the floor and holding him up with his back facing Dianna

“You dared to take Gia away from us, this is us being merciful to you” Dianna said and she plunged the dagger into Adrian’s back, pulling it down and cutting his flesh open

“Ahhhh!!!!!!!!”

Ethan’s POV
I said some spells and unlocked the door and I stepped out to meet Bellatrix standing right outside

“How did you open the door without me unlocking it for you?” she asked

“I’m the Guardian of The Hell Gates, opening locked doors is the least of the things I can do” I said

“You have blood all over you” she said looking at me

“It’s…. it’s not blood, it’s red paint” I said

“I’m not stupid Ethan, I know you guys are killing people there, I’ve been hearing screams” she said and I smiled

“Let’s take a walk shall we?” I asked as I began to walk and she followed me

“What about everyone else?” she asked

“Let’s just say they still have their hands occupied” I replied

“They still killing Dad….. I mean Adrian” Bellatrix said

“Do you feel bad knowing you helped us get him?” I asked

“I used to think of him as my father, but he lied to me, he took me away from my real family, I hate him for that and he deserves to die” Bellatrix said as we found a seat by the roadside

“You have a pretty strong mindset for a kid” I said

“I told you, I am not a kid!” she protested

“You are seven, you are a kid”

“I am an innate one, I have a lot of power so I am not a kid” she said and I laughed

“Oh Bellatrix, once upon a time I was like you, I was young and I suddenly had this amount power I could barely understand, I was faced with hardships and I always told myself to chin up, I am no longer a kid, having this amount of power is a big responsibility so regardless of my age, I was no longer a kid and I must face the world without any emotions, that was the mindset I started to live with but then there was this woman, she had the coolest personality and she was the kindest woman I ever knew, she taught me that regardless of the powers I have, I am still human and I am allowed to cry when I’m sad, I’m going to give you the same advice she gave me, sometimes life gives us much more than we ever bargained for and we just have to find a way to live with it, you don’t have to live like the whole world is on your shoulder, sometimes take a rest and cry if you need to, even the strongest man needs a pillar to rely on sometimes” I said and I noticed a tear roll down Bellatrix’s face

“I thought you didn’t feel bad for Adrian” I said

“I really don’t feel bad for him Ethan, not after all he’s done, he killed Gia too and Gia was the first Mom I grew up to know, so I didn’t feel bad for him” Bellatrix said

“Then why did you cry?” I asked

“I felt bad for you, you sounded like you went through a lot” she said and glanced at my arm
“Your arm is bleeding” she pointed out

“Yeah, a bullet grazed my arm” I said

“Let me heal you” she said

“Oh no Bellatrix, I’ll be fine” I said

“No, I can really heal you, allow me” she said as she placed her palm over my arm and closed her eyes and soon the pain from my grazed arm disappeared, she healed me…..
