Ivan’s POV
Eva, Sophie and I slowly walked into the abandoned building
The atmosphere seemed eerie and it didn’t look like anyone hid anything here
“You sure we didn’t pick the wrong place?” Sophie asked
“No, Aria wouldn’t place such a strong a spell on the door just to stop us from entering an empty building” I said
“Exactly and I sense magic in the air, there’s something going on here, I just can’t realize it yet” Eva said
“Let’s just continue looking around then” Sophie said but I could filter the doubt in her voice
This place is empty, there is nothing to look for
“An illusion spell!” Eva suddenly spurted
“A what?” Sophie asked
“An illusion spell, Aria casted an illusion, the empty house you are seeing isn’t real” Eva said
“How do we break the spell?” I enquired
“One minute” Eva said as she made an invisible line of circle and sat in the middle of it, then she began to chant her spells
Nothing seemed to be happening at first but there was a sudden white smoke that seemed to be coming from everywhere in the room
“What’s going on?” Sophie asked as the white smoke thickened and it became almost impossible for us to see
“Eva” I called but she continued to chant her spells, paying no regard to the changes around her
Before I could say another word, the white smoke slowly began to disappear and one was able to see again but this time, it wasn’t just an empty house we saw, there was what seemed like a blue lighted ball right in the middle of the room illuminating the whole house
“Is that….”
“The totem, yes” Eva said as she stood up and moved closer to get the totem
She bent to touch the totem but suddenly screamed in pain and jumped back
“It burnt my hand” Eva said
“Great, if the damn totem is burning hands now, how do we pick it up and destroy it?” Sophie asked
“I’ll pick it up, it can’t burn a hand that’s already on fire” I said as I removed my right hand glove bringing my fiery hand into view
I moved closer to the totem and picked it up
“Great, so how do we destroy this?” I asked
“Umm….. I don’t know, I could try a shattering spell to break it up” Eva said
“Go on with it then” I said as I dropped the totem back on the floor
Eva closed her eyes and chanted spells but nothing happened
“It’s not working, the shattering spell isn’t working on it” Eva said
“I might as well shatter it with my hand then” I said as I picked up the totem and tried to break it with my hand
But it didn’t break, it only succeeded in getting a line of crack
“That didn’t really work too” Sophie said
“We need something much more powerful to destroy it” Eva said
“Something like an explosion?” I asked
“Maybe, but how will suddenly get an explosion?” Eva asked
“You two will head back to the Mansion now and I’ll remove my gloves and socks and get this damn thing exploded” I said
“What?! That’s too dangerous!” Sophie exclaimed
“It’s not dangerous for me, I am immortal remember?” I asked then I turned to Eva
“Go now, you said Aria’s chain was melting so time is the one thing we do not have, if you go now, the totem will be destroyed by the time you get back to the mansion and you’ll be able to kill her then” I said and Eva nodded
“Let’s go Sophie” she said but Sophie continued to stare at me
“See you soon” I said and she nodded before finally walked out with Sophie
Time to destroy this damn thing
I removed my glove and I picked up the totem with my fiery hand
Then I removed my socks revealing my lightening and fiery legs
The place I stood began to burn and the lightening extended the flame to various parts of the building and before I could say Jack Robinson, the building exploded

Dianna’s POV
There was a sudden strange wind that blew threw the Mansion and around Aria
“What was that?” I asked but she just continued to stare at me with a blank expression which surprised me
I mean she has been quite the talkative since she was captured so the cat suddenly got her tongue now?
“It can’t be….. You totem has been destroyed!” I exclaimed
“And so is this chain!” she said as her cage suddenly broke apart and she was released
“My powers are back” she smiled
“Doesn’t make much difference cause you aren’t going to leave this building alive” I said
“And who’s gonna stop me? You? A heavily pregnant woman?” Aria mocked
There was a sudden crashing sound and I looked back to see Eric and Gia waking up
“I guess you have your siblings backing you up now” Aria said
Eric and Gia stood up and came to stand beside me
“What happened to your face Eric?” i asked on noticing how wounded his face was
“Ask me that again after we’ve killed this wretch standing here” Eric said and Aria laughed
“Now that my totem is destroyed, I won’t be risking my life engaging in a meaningless fight with you guys now, the next time we meet Hammingtons, I promise it’s not going to turn out great for you” she said as suddenly disappeared like a wind
“Damn!!” I yelled frustrated
Eva and Sophie suddenly walked in and met the shattered cage
“No, do not tell me she escaped!” Eva said
“She did, just few moments ago” Gia said
“So it was all for nothing? Ivan risked his life blowing himself up along with some damn totem and it’s all for nothing, Aria is free again now, free to cause havoc to anyone and everyone” Sophie said and I suddenly sprang up
“Is something wrong Dianna?” Eric asked but I ignored and rushed upstairs to my room
I had hidden a safe behind my closet and I went to open it but it was empty
“Bloody hell, damn you Aria!!” I yelled
I walked downstairs to everyone
“Aria didn’t leave empty-handed, she took Owen’s ashes with her”…..

Gia’s POV
It’s morning again, another morning of the endless anticipation of Aria’s attack
Dianna is restless, she believes now that Aria has Owen’s ashes and knows how to make the immortal killing spell work, she’ll be coming for her child
Ivan is being the wild brother he is, rummaging through the whole city trying to find Aria since the tracking map he had conjured no longer works
Eric has healed from the injuries I inflicted on him in the death slumber and he’s always with Dianna, trying to prevent her from ripping out hearts to calm herself down
And me? Am just here, confused and in complete distraught
When Aria had put Dianna into the death slumber back then and I had went into her nightmare to save her, I’ve always wondered since then, what is my worst fear?
I think I found out now, killing my own twin brother, separating from my siblings, those are my worst fears
But there was still one thing I couldn’t understand, Michael, the only man I ever truly loved, he was in my nightmare but he was different, rather than the cool guy I know, he was a controlling freak
There was a sudden knock on my door and I looked up as the door opened
“It’s breakfast time Gia” Eric said as he peeped in
Since the death slumber, I haven’t really had a good conversation with Eric, I still feel guilty each time I see him
“I’ll…. I’ll be there in a bit” I said and he nodded
He made to leave but he suddenly stopped and turned back
“You seem restless, are you okay?” he asked
“Am good” I replied and he stared me for a moment and then walked in and sat beside me
“Is this about the death slumber?” Eric asked
“I just feel so bad, I hurt you in my nightmare Eric”
“But I healed as soon as we woke up didn’t I?” Eric said
“I also killed you, in my nightmare, I killed Eric Hammington” I said
“I was pretty psyched when I heard it too but it’s not true Gia, it’s just your nightmare showing your worst fears and I guess I should be happy since it means one of the most things you are afraid of is killing me” Eric said
“Eric……”
“I know our relationship has been kinda rocky as off late but that doesn’t change anything Gia, I still care about you and your happiness, I will always do” Eric said
“I know I’ve been a jerk of a sister lately and am sorry about, I also care about you Eric, I care about your happiness too and that is why I won’t be against you guy’s relationship anymore” I said
“What relationship?” Eric asked and I smiled
“Eva cares for you alot Eric, man up and win her over” I said as I stood and went to the door
“Come on, breakfast must be getting cold” I said and Eric stood up and followed me downstairs where Ivan and Dianna were already seated
“You aren’t eating Dianna” Ivan said as we sat down
Dianna threw down her fork obviously frustrated
“How the bloody hell do you expect me to eat when the one that seeks mine and my baby’s downfall is on the loose?!” Dianna said almost yelling
“She will not be able to harm you or your baby Dianna, we are here to protect you two” Eric said

“Aria has proven herself a formidable opponent, your protection will barely be able to stop her if she decides to attack me” Dianna said
“Stop this nonsense Dianna, you are being unnecessarily paranoid” Ivan said
“Did you say unnecessarily paranoid? Me worrying about my baby’s life is being unnecessarily paranoid?!!” Dianna yelled and Ivan stood up
“Since you don’t seem to want to eat, then let’s go upstairs, I’ll put you to bed” Ivan said
“Put me to bed? I am not a kid!!” Dianna yelled
“Your are obviously behaving like one!!” Ivan yelled too
“I mean I get you are in the last stage of your pregnancy and all but come on Dianna, what the bloody hell is wrong with you?! This isn’t the eldest Hammington that I am familiar with, you are always one to take charge so why in the Hammingtons name are you cowering in fear now?!” Ivan said
Dianna stared at him for a moment and then climbed upstairs without speaking a word
“Maybe you went too far Ivan, she’s probably angry now” I said
“Well someone needed to tell her the truth, and I prefer her being angry than being afraid and paranoid” Ivan said
“You know Dianna isn’t always like that, as a matter of fact she is the strongest of us all, she’s only like because of her pregnancy Ivan, you have to understand that” Eric said and Ivan sighed
“Fine, I guess an apology is needed” Ivan muttered as he climbed up the stairs
Ivan’s POV
I got to Dianna’s room and she was seated on her bed staring into the empty space
“I guess I should apologize for not being an understanding brother” I said and Dianna looked at me
“No Ivan, I should thank you instead, you reminded me of who I am, the lady that’s always afraid and wondering what Aria’s next move will be, that is not me, whenever I am faced with enemies, I do not fear them, I kill the whole lot of them” Dianna said and I smiled, this is the sister I am familiar with
“You’ve been searching all over the city, did you find anything on her yet?” Dianna asked
“Nothing at all, Sophie also tried conjuring a tracking map again but that didn’t work too” I said
“Sophie? She’s helping you with the search?” Dianna asked and I nodded
“Yeah”
“But why? This doesn’t really concern her anymore” Dianna said
“It actually does, Aria is out for her life too” I said
“What?! Why?! Why will Aria want to kill her?” Dianna asked and I hesitated a bit
I haven’t really told anyone about Sophie’s origin
“Because Sophie is also a Dixon” I said
“What?!” Dianna exclaimed
“Yeah, Aria and Sophie, they are related, I think they are something like cousins or so” I explained
“Wow” Dianna said
“Yeah, I was surprised too” I nodded
“Well this only means we have to get rid of Aria sooner than later since posing so much threat to alot of people
“We will Dianna, we will get Aria, I promise” I assured
Gia’s POV
Eric and I finished breakfast and we sat on the couch
The suddenly opened and Eva walked in
“You guys seem to be too at peace for someone who’s house is on fire” Eva said
“What do you mean?” Eric asked
“Seems like Aria went on a killing spree last night because three dead bodies of children were found in three different places this morning, each with a strange mark on their head, now I have never seen something like this but I’ve read of it, it’s a dark but very powerful sacrificial magic, one that dark witches do to get more power” Eva said
“So you hurried all the way here to tell us that Aria is even more powerful now?” Gia asked
“No Gia, remember I told you in this city, the witches coexist with the humans without harming each other, as I lead and represent the witches, the humans also have a head and he’s been out of town since, but he’s back now and he believes that since the coming of you and your siblings into this city, his folks have not being safe, he believes the solution to bringing peace back to Arcane County is driving your family out of the city so he’s on his way here now and he’s not alone, he’s with trained armed men and his mission is to get you all out of this city” Eva said and I scoffed
“Well then let him come with his goons, I’ll be more than happy to make a meal out of him” I said
“No Gia, you can’t kill him, he is the head of the humans and killing him will cause a war!” Eva stated
“And do I look like I care?” I said and Eva said
The door suddenly flung open and dozens of armed men rushed in with their guns
Then dressed in a corporate suite, he walked in sweeping me off my feet and taking me by surprise
“Hi, my name is Adrian Hunter, the head of the humans, I believe you’ve heard of me” he said
I glanced at Eric and the shock was written all over his face too
“Mi….. Micheal?”……
