CHAPTER THIRTY-TWO: BITTER TRUTH 2
Jing remains standing, surprised and shocked. Did Muchen just say what I heard? He is not human? That must be a joke right, it has to be a joke, moving close to a chair, I had to support myself before sitting on it ” he has to be joking, he won’t do that to me ”
His words concerning Mona even angered me more, he loves her and likes me. Why does he have to say all that to me? Why will he keep choosing others over me? Why won’t he just pick me and let the others die?
Clenching my hands, I fight the tears from dropping from my eyes at the thought of sharing him, he does have other wives but do I have to share? Yes, am selfish but that’s for a reason
” That’s not selfishness ” I heard that female voice again, the same one from the bathing room ” You just need to stand your ground ”
” What are you saying?” Opening my eyes, I stare at nothing, no one is there but I kept hearing voices ” Who are you?”
Whoever the person is, literally ignored my question ” he called you his food, all you need to do right now is to deprive him of his food ”
” What do you mean”
” Your blood Jing, do not let him taste it anymore, avoid his presence, prove to him is either you or no one….besides you have the key to his life “This is the second time that word has come across my ears, the key? What is this key all about ” am sure words are not yet out, if it is….his enemies will want you dead ”
” What do you mean by key?” My curiosity is starting to increase with each passing minute ” What do you mean by that?” I waited but heard nothing else ” I can’t remain in this dark forever, you have to tell me ”
” My lips have been sealed Jing, only you can find out that yourself, I have to go now ”
” What are you?”
Her next word made me frown “Your only friend ” and then silence engulf me, what am I doing here? What is my sim with this key of a thing? Why does this keep confusing me? Muchen life? Does that mean I can kill him? Is that the meaning of the key?
” Milady, are you okay?” My gaze moved to my left, li-mu standing right there, with a confused look “You have been murmuring to yourself, wondering if you need help ”
” No Li-mu” faking a smile, I mumble ” am fine, even better ”
” Am glad the king’s words didn’t get to you ” he bowed his head “Now, if you may excuse me “Watching him move upstairs, I close my eyes, still sitting on the chair, should I just go back to ju-li?
With him, I feel more cherished, not like food, just for filling the belly ” I hate you Muchen” growling, I just couldn’t help but clench my hands on my chest, the pain is too much to hold in.
Getting up I head towards lord Muchen’s chamber, getting close, I stop right at the door, my hand at the handle, what I want to do right now is to go to him, beg him to choose me over Mona but that’s what I have been doing, all I have been doing with Muchen is beg him
I probably should stop, I should stop forcing myself on him, I should do what that voice told me, avoid him, make him chase me but what if he doesn’t, what if he refuses to come after me?
” Jing ” his voice caught me off guard, blinking I realize the door is open and he is staring at me “Are you okay” I didn’t say a word, I stare right into his eyes, he doesn’t look worried or concerned, just asking for asking sake.
I made sure my face is expressionless ” I shouldn’t be here ”
” You don’t look fine ” he hold my hand and I took seconds to stare at the contact before looking at him “Come in, and I will set the bed for you ”
” Let go of me ”
” Jing ”
” Milord, kindly let go of my hands ” I frown “You must be mistaken but am not Mona ”
” Jing ” he steps closer ” Do not act this way with me!” He is starting to growl ” I am not blind, I know who am touching ”
” And I kindly request you let go of me ” or didn’t do as I ask and I frown, he just kept looking at me with confusion
” What are you mad about? ” I frown at his words, is he joking right now? ” It’s certainly not because I killed the ghoul right?”
” A ghoul?” And then it hit me, Edward, I knew I haven’t been seeing him lately” You killed him?”
” Indeed, he has lewd thoughts concerning you ”
” And who gave you the permission to touch what belongs to me!!!!” Anger moves in my eyes ” You certainly have no right to do that!!!!” He didn’t look scared or moved, just furrow his brows then leaned close
” Jing, I need not your permission to kill the bastard that killed one of my wives, ” I notice how he frowns ” I do not appreciate the fact you let him even touch your fingers and do you know why?” He cups my face with his right man, I just how angry he looks “You my dear are mine, I do not care if you’re angry right now, you will calm down ”
” I can never belong to a monster ” I growl and for a split second I saw something move in his eyes
” I don’t care ” he drags me into his chamber and shut the door “We will be heading to the palace first thing tomorrow morning, get enough sleep ”
” I don’t want to be around you ”
” Get used to it Jing ” he growl then move close to my direction ” If you don’t stop nagging about this situation, I will rape you, and trust me ” I watch the determination in his eyes ” I have been dying to be in you ” I couldn’t help it, my face heat up.
Why do I still react to him? Even after all that he has said to me
” I need to drink ”
” Ladies don’t drink ”
” I do!” Moving close to the balcony, I lift the bottle of wine and gulp down half of everything ” I hate this place ” yelling I look outside and frown ” I hate this” Drinking more, I exhale, I wish I can just end all these, wish my life is a little more simple
Muchen finishes taking his bath and then steps out to find Jing laying on the floor, the empty bottle next to her, approaching her direction, our gaze meets and she giggles softly ” Don’t tell me you’re drunk”
” Am not ” she giggle and I exhale ” I just feel a little tired so I decided to sleep, or can’t I sleep ?”
” Not on the floor Jing ” Bending down a little, I help her up and place her on the bed “You should sleep ”
” Muchen?” It’s the second time she is calling just my name with no title, I won’t lie, it sounds nice coming from her “Do you love Mona? ”
” Jing,” I notice the tears swelling in her eyes
” You do know I love you so much, you do know that it hurts right?” I said nothing and she gently sit up, looking at me “Why can’t you love me? ”
” I….”
She cut me off ” Do I need to change anything about myself? Tell me and I would “Touching her face, she sniff ” I promise I will change ”
” You don’t have to Jing ” I lean close and kiss her forehead” You’re perfect ” I watch her lay down and fall asleep after that, looking at her, I clean the tears from her face and hate myself the more.
” jing, I do care for you”
I just realized that I hate it when she cries, I hate it whenever she looks this sad, it’s not helping things…leaning close I kiss her cheek then whisper” You can have me all to yourself if Mona is dead ” I mumble ” if she just vanishes from our life, I promise, you will have me to yourself ” I look at her sleeping face ” that’s all I need you to do, kill her ”
I do not wish for Mona’s death but I want Jing to stop hurting if Mona’s disappearance will help…..I don’t mind it happening.
I just can’t kill her with my own hands
I said those words knowing Jing is passed out but I never realized she will take it seriously.

CHAPTER THIRTY-THREE: CONFUSED SITUATION 1 ( DREAM OF DEATH )
Jing’s eyes slowly open, and a serious wave of head pains hit me while I growl the pain out, my eyes move around the room, the door burst open revealing a worried fang “My queen, you’re awake?”
Holding my head, I sit up and look at her ” How did I get here, I remember drinking and then passing out ”
” Lord Muchen brought you here my queen ” I watch as tears threaten to drop from her eyes “Everyone was so worried, you suddenly vanish from the palace ” Oh that’s right, ju-li took me away, he must be looking for me, thinking that forest got me.
” Ju-li? Where is he?”
” He was the moment st surprised” Fang mumbled” he look so shocked when the king brought you into the palace “Fang move closer ” Rumors have also been going around that Ju-li is interested in Queen Mona ”
” Queen Mona?”
” Yes my queen, he has been spotted leaving her quarters for the fifth time today ”
” What could they be up to ” I frown “What about the queen dowager?”
” She is down with an I’ll ess, the physician said it’s the state of her heart increasing in size, it happened to be very critical”
” I hope she dies soon ” mumbling, I try my best to get up on my feet ” She has been a really big obstacle in my plans “Looking outside the window, I frown at the sun “What of the king? Where is he?”
” Lord Muchen has asked for Mona’s presence in his quarters ” I look at Fang the moment she finishes talking “She has been in there for a long time now ”
” I shouldn’t go ” I mumble to myself ” I really should avoid forcing myself on the king ” Fang didn’t say anything to that, I just remain standing while looking through the window, my heart is already broken to sad pieces “Fang”
” Yes milady ”
” I am headed to queen dowager quarters, arrange my carriage ”
” As you wish my queen” Fang left, I move back to the bed, sit down and exhale…..it is said that once a woman is married to the king, she has absolutely no right to leave the palace ever again, I have disobeyed that rule many times, must be why the queen dowager hates me so much.
I am not trying to repent or something like that, oh no…..this time around, I wish the queen dowager know when am leaving, I have decided to leave the palace for Muchen and Mona, I was told to practice being away from lord Muchen
I don’t care if he has hundreds of wives, if am there, I should be his one and only, his only favorite. Moving into my bathing chamber, I did the necessary and came out, two maids helped me in dressing and applying soft makeup on my face before I get in my carriage.
Stepping down, I didn’t hesitate to move towards her chamber, the queen dowager maid, announce my visitation, I step in and slowly bow my head before sitting on the mat ” your highness”
” What brings you here Queen Jing ” Lifting my head, I state at her weak gaze, she must be unwell and close to her deathbed
” I wish for your permission to leave the palace ”
” You always do that without asking, do you suddenly have respect for me when am close to my death bed” Pain filled in her voice, anyone would have known that, and the fact I understand it, made my heart sink
Before Mona’s pregnancy, the queen dowager and I were extremely close but something happened, I don’t know what happened but I just hate that it did happen
” I simply ask for your permission”
” Have some tea ”
” Am afraid I have to decline”
” What could be your reason?”
” It may be poison” I mumble and watch her chuckle softly, I notice the lines and wrinkle on her face, but that didn’t make me join her in laughing or anything, I remain expressionless, knowing she is my enemy
” You have really improved Jing, causing Mona’s miscarriage without any trace of evidence, xiang death and still no race of evidence, lying concerning your miscarriage, and then killing your physician before he links the truth out ”
I furrow my brows ” your highness, I have no idea of what you speak of, you must t have me mistaken for someone else” I watch how she grins and then cough softly, that was an easy trick, I will never confess to anything simply because you are looking sick and about dying.
” You may go on your vacation Queen Jing “This is surprising, why is she acting all nice? This is not like her, not one bit.
” Thank you your highness “Getting up, I look down at her ” I wish you a fast recovery” I didn’t wait for her to respond before leaving her chambers and then quarters, sitting in my carriage, I close my eyes then mumble ” to the king quarters ”
” As you wish my queen”
My eyes remain closed and I clench my hands, what will they be doing? I feel like Muchen discover something about Mona, which is why he wishes not to leave her, and being a vampire is just strange, I wonder how Mona will react if she finds out the truth.
Will she feel disgusted, push him, hate him or maybe she knows already, maybe he told her from the beginning, and am just getting to know
” Milady, we are here”
I didn’t hesitate to get off the carriage and into the king’s hallway, I didn’t even pause one minute to look around, I move straight towards the lord’s chamber “Do not announce” I stop one of his guards from announcing my name before he tries to.
Opening his chamber door, I frown at the sight right in front of me “Queen Jing ” Mona looks at me and smiles” What brings you here, I don’t think lord Muchen ask for your presence” The smile is widely placed on her face, she uses the blanket to cover her nakedness.
Clenching my hands, my gaze moves to the bathroom door that just open revealing Muchen, towel wrapped around his waist ” Jing ” he gives me a confused look ” Why are you here ”
” They was something urgent I wanted to tell you, but I can see that you are quite busy ”
” What is it?”
” Excuse me my king ” I smile ” I will come some other time ”
He hold my hand before I realize it, how is he that fast “You’re misunderstanding this, I know what this looks like but I didn’t touch her, I promise ”
I frown “You need not explain yourself to me ”
” I feel like I do “Staring into his eyes, he seem sincere ” She split some wine on her dress and decided to take them off, her maids are headed to her chambers to get new garments ”
” Oh ” my gaze move to an angry Mona, she hiss and lay right back on the bed, she must have done that on purpose, maybe to seduce Muchen ” Milord, I have to go ”
” You mentioned that you had something to tell me?”
Looking at Muchen, I couldn’t help but frown, why is he being soft towards me? Did I do something to him last night? I can only remember drinking and then passing out, am hundred percent sure I did nothing to h, absolutely nothing.
” I plan on leaving the palace for a while”
” What are you talking about, what trip…you possibly can’t do that!!” He growls out of nowhere, his grip tightening around my wrist ” I won’t permit that ”
I frown, anger rising in my lower belly ” You have to be joking, I don’t need your permission ”
” I am the king!!!” He growls “You will remain in the palace and that’s it, you go nowhere”
” The queen dowager has given permission”
” I don’t care ”
Pulling my hands out of his, I throw glares his way ” I hate you “Those were my last words before leaving, his expression didn’t even change one bit, and he look even more satisfied about everything that is happening. I can’t help but think that he has changed, just a little
He would have said I have no business if he sleep with Mona, but instead, he try to clear things up, saying am wrong and explaining in detail what happened “What happened to him?” I stop moving and frown “That is not like Muchen at all, I know someone can change but not to that extent.
Blinking my eyes, I turn around and move back to his chamber, my feet slow down at the mention of Muchen’s name
” what do you think you’re doing, lord Muchen doesn’t act that way!”
” How do you expect me to act!!” Whoever that person was growled ” I certainly don’t know how to behave and I won’t even try shouting at Queen Jing, if muchen loves her, he won’t shout”
Who is that? The voice is very similar to lord Muchen. His face and everything was similar too…..am I forgetting something? I knew for a fact that I drink and pass out and then woke up in the palace, something is not right here.
Am Missing a piece of information here, what happened last night, where the hell am I? The sudden news of queen dowager’s sickness did shock me, she even talk calmly too, and all this is beginning to confuse me.
Could I be dreaming?
” You being this way you make her suspect things ”
” She didn’t suspect a thing!” The voice growl “You should try and prevent her from leaving the palace, you know what will happen if you don’t ”
” Do not try to teach me my work ” she growl ” I will take care of her, the sudden silence, made me run away from there and quickly into lord muchen’s painting room, shut the door, and exhale
What’s happening?
Pacing in the room, I hear different footsteps pass by but I still couldn’t wrap my head around things ” I can’t conclude, maybe am just hearing things, that’s right, they is nothing wrong with lord Muchen, he is fine.
” You keep hiding from the truth ” that female voice, always talking to me “You fully know that, lord Muchen doesn’t act that way ”
I look around and finally, at her, she has long white hair and blue eyes ” Who are you ”
” How many times do I have to tell you ” she move closer “Stay away from lord Muchen, you were not even asked to love him, just be the key to seal him out of his original body ”
” What are you saying ”
” Princess Crystal” she looks at me with so much pain in her eyes ” you have suffered so much, you need to rest ”
” You’re confusing me, where am I? ” Growling, I look around “This place doesn’t seem real, have I been dreaming?”
” No crystal”
” It’s Jing ” I correct her, frowning “My name is Jing ”
” You are currently under a spell ”
” A spell?” I frown ” Everything seems so real tho ” Looking at her, I step closer ” Where is Muchen and what do you mean by a spell? What do you even mean by calling me princess?”
” Muchen is beside you, these people are slowly eating your brain without even him knowing, dream of death ” she smiles “If you don’t wake up in three hours, you will die which will only mean lord Muchen will die too ”
” How can my drinking lead to so many things !!!!!”
” Not you, Crystal” she shakes her head “Lady Margaret”
I frown, many things are just unclear, first the talk of key, now she is calling me a princess, I don’t even know who she is!!!
A spell, my death?
Lady Margaret is my mother!!! She should be dead not trying to kill me!!!
Running my hands through my hair, I exhale “What’s going on?”
