CHAPTER THIRTY-EIGHT: JING’S FINAL DECISION 1
Muchen stares at a sleeping Mona, she looks so pale and tired, I have no idea why she will go ahead in sleeping with lord Norman when she knows she will regret it, I just don’t get her one bit ” Why to let another man touch you?” I frown staring at her, the fact that someone else has slept with her is pissing me off.
I didn’t want her to think about it so much, so I shut It down, the only person that’s knows about this, is three of us, her, me, and that bastard Norman
My gaze moves out of the window, the gates open revealing the guest which was long-awaited, getting up, I move out of Mona’s chamber to greet him properly
” lord gu-mu” I smile ” I didn’t expect you to arrive so soon Sitting in the throne room, I watch him smile and bow down slowly
” I didn’t feel the need to delay my arrival” I watch how he slowly sits on the chair at my left, gu-mu is known to be the youngest lord in power, being at the age of twenty-five and ruling just a huge country, must be a difficult task for him ” I can see your county is slowly raiding to the too ” he smiles” this will truly be a nice visitation”
” I could not be more pleased Standing up, I move closer to his direction ” I should show you to your chamber, and on the way, we could talk more about politics ”
” Indeed ” he rises to his feet, and so did the two guards ” I will like to see my dear cousin first ” his eyes lit up Queenn Jing”Sometimes I do think that gu-mu is found of Jing in a wrong way, they are cousins, nothing can stop their marriage, I do feel like lord gu-mu love Jing, more than a sister ” I suppose she is well, why haven’t she come here yet?”
” She must have slept off ” I watch him sit right back ” I will wait for her, please send a guard to inform her of my arrival ”
” That will be quite disturbing lord gu-mu ” I frown slightly My wife has been through a lot of stress today, I demand you let her sleep for a while ”
” The fact, you haven’t given her a child is dissatisfying ”
” I assure you that……” The door to the throne room opens and I stop talking, my gaze follows a smiling Jing, she moves closer and bows her head
” Lord gu-mu ” she mumble then lift her head ” I wasn’t informed of your arrival, this is my late arrival ”
” Lord Muchen, you should tell things to Jing, she is your first wife ” he moves closer to her and pays her head slowly “How have you been ”
” I have been quite disturbed ”
” Is it about producing the next heir ?”
” On point, milord ” Jing looked at me ” In fact the management of the Ladies’ quarters gave gotten quite troubling, rumors have it that Queen Mona, the fifth queen is pregnant ”
” Pregnant?” Gu-mu gasped” That should be good news ”
Jing smiles Indeed, but it’s not for the king, Queen Mona has committed adultery ”
” Queen Jing ”
” Not from my lips my king ” Jing smile ” I heard it from the queen’s chambers, her maids must have started this rumor and it must be true, things don’t just start up ” Jing gave me a very angry look “Am sure you will not overlook such things ” her eyes avert back to lord gu-mu is” I have brought out her crimes and the right punishment is impeachment ”
” Queen Jing ”
” My king ” she growled ” I am not done speaking, at least not yet, they are still a lot to say concerning this issue, I have something urgent to announce, and since lord gu-mu is here….. Am just grateful ”
” Queen Mona should be dealt with but that is certainly in lord Muchen’s hands ” all the council members mumble “We have to look into this too ”
” Of course ” Jing nodded ” I will like a divorce “The whole throne room become quiet ” This made me smile, of course, nobody would have expected this ” And on this account, I wish to leave the palace as of today ”
” Queen Jing, why this sudden decision? ”
” I have realized how weak I am as the queen of this kingdom “My eyes move to Muchen, and I watch the surprise in his gaze ” I realize how am not enough and can easily be replaced, I do not wish to make this country pass through mire difficulties ”
” Queen Jing ” lord Norman look at me ” That is not reason enough but we will consider your offer”
” Silence” I growl and stare at Jing, she looks so determined, she knew about how I wanted to hide Mona’s crimes, it hurt her but doing this was passing the line “What do you think you’re doing, announcing such a thing ”
” My king, forgive me if I have crossed done kind of line ” She bowed her head and then lift it once more ” If you don’t grant this to me, I will commit suicide “Our gaze didn’t leave each, she is pissed as hell ” now excuse, once again forgive me for my interference with this peaceful greetings ” she left the hall and I walk back to my seat, seat down and frown, many thoughts swirl in my head
” Lord Muchen ”
” Li-mu will show you to your chambers lord gu-mu ” I growl ” I am not in the mood for politics talk ”
” I understand ”
I watch everyone leave the hall room, and my hands move to my head while I close my eyes, I could see it in her eyes, nothing I will say will make her change her mind, she is finally tired of me, but can I let her go like this?
They are no way I can live without her, I need her close to me, to be able to live and be in my right senses ” Milord?” Li-mu return and bow his head “Queen Jing is setting her carriage for departure ”
” Kill the horse ” mumbling I look at him “Kill each horse they try to fix to the carriage, I will be damn if she leaves “Getting up, I didn’t hesitate to move out of the throne hall and towards Jing quarters, like hell I will accept this, I will never approve.
Knocking was not necessary, I step in and she turn around, her gaze met mine, however, she look calm and well collected “Milord, what brings you here?” Shutting the door, I love closer to her “Milord?” She didn’t bother to get off the bed, she remain seated “You look quite troubled ”
“is they any need for you to act obvious” I growl “What’s this talk about you leaving ”
” It is how it is ” she smile ” I have decided that I needed more, I think about trying to win you is exhausting, it’s frustrating and I have finally given up ”
” You told me you love me!” I growl and she chuckles, a fake and half hearten laugh
” What do you think of me Muchen?” Frowning, she steps closer ” I will always keep trying to win and beg of you. Do you think am a toy that will remain by your side? I also have feelings ”
” Jing?”
” It’s queen Jing milord!!!” She growls ” I have had enough, you keep putting up with Mona and placing her before me, I don’t want to feel this way anymore, yes I love you ” she smiles ” but I have also grown to hate you ”
” You will not leave my side ”
” I don’t care how many horses you kill, I will just walk on foot ”
” What……” He clenches his hands “What do I have to do to make you stay?”
” Impeach Mona ” My eyes widen at that “You either have me or her and yes, I want you to pick ”
” Jing!”
” I give you three days milord, I will be in the palace for three more days….if nothing is done, I will leave ” I remain quiet ” Now if you will excuse me, I will like to eat dinner ” and then she left.
Running my hands through my hair, I look at the mirror, of course, my reflection is not there ” Jing, what has gotten into you?” How do I handle this situation, do I let her leave, do I let Mona go away?

CHAPTER THIRTY-NINE: LORD MUCHEN PAST 1
Jing stepped into the dining room, the door shut, and breathed out ” That was intense ”
” Milady, are you sure about this?” Fang mumble when I take my seat and open the pate right in front of me “Are you sure, you no longer want to be the lord’s first wife? ”
I nod then look at her “Don’t you think I have had enough? All the queens hate me, I killed Queen Xiang and queen hua is probably after me too “My gaze moves to the chicken soup and white rice ” Staying here will mean me killing myself, the only thing that will make me want to stay here is if Muchen realize that he needs me ”
” Milady ”
” I will not die for nothing” mumbling, I didn’t bother to say anything else, I just kept eating and thinking, the worst scenario is when he chooses Mona over me, that will only show that he lives her and I mean nothing to him ” fang?”
” Yes, milady?”
” Leave me ” She bow her head and do as I said, the door closed shut before I mumble ” Diamond, are you there?” She appears immediately and I frown “Do you think this will work? What if he doesn’t do what I say, what if I do get a divorce ”
” Isn’t it better that way?” She furrows her brows ” I told you the same thing fifty years back, that man is not for you, he is dangerous, evil, and not a god ” I frown at her words but she steps closer “You were betrothed to the god of the sun, Helios but you went for a mere vampire ”
” What are you saying ”
She exhales “All am saying is that you need to finish what you came here for and return to heaven, I will never expect Dracula as your husband nor will Silver”
” I don’t need you to accept anything ” I avert my gaze back to my food ” I just need Mona out of my life ”
” Mona is lord Muchen’s beloved, even back then she was with him….she was his wife years ago “That got my attention, I look at her “Her name was Josephine, she reincarnated after dying ”
” You mean…..”
She nod “Yes, he didn’t safe her, time run out ”
” So what if that was his wife, what did she do that was so special ”
” Let’s go then “Diamond moved closer ” Let’s get into his memories, maybe then you will realize that Mona deserves him, not you, you will realize that they finally got time to be together, that they have suffered enough ” I stand up in anger but she smiled ” you will feel guilty ”
Before I could reply, my guard announce the arrival of Queen Mona and after a while, the door opened revealing Mona “What exactly did I ever do to you?” She didn’t even bother to start with pleasantries and from what I noticed, only I can see diamond.
” What brings you here ” I sit down ” Can’t you see am having dinner?” Looking at her, I furrow my brows ” Have you lost respect?”
” You started that rumor ”
” Is it false?”
She hesitates for a while before replying “Yes, it’s false, this is lord Muchen’s child ”
” Then why are you in such a bad state, it’s just a rumor, you can just deny it, and am pretty sure lord Muchen will back you up” Sipping my wine I smile ” Unless you are a shameless woman who cheats on her husband ”
” Queen Jing”
” Did I hit some nerves?”
She smile “You should know who you mess with, am not the Mona you knew ”
” Indeed ” Eating another slice of the chicken I look at her “Should I call you Josephine ” Her eyes widen but only for a slight second “You seem surprised ”
” And you keep gibberish ”
” So you aren’t Josephine, just Mona then ” swirling the glass of wine ” I must have made a slight mistake” We look at each other, she fully knows now that I know everything about her, that’s what she will think but I just know her name, my gaze move swiftly to diamond, catch her smiling before looking away ” I will appreciate it if you leave Mona, I have not finished my meal and your presence is not exciting ”
” Queen Jing, this is not over ” she growls ” I will appreciate it if you stay out of my business, out of my life, and maybe, get out of the palace just as you said!” With that she walks out of my dining room, I clench my hands and then look at diamond
” I wish to kill her ”
” If you had your powers, it will be quite easy ” she mumble “You are Zeus’s daughter after all ”
” That wasn’t a silly dream?” I frown, then shake my head ” You said something about Muchen’s past, I want to know more, I want to see it ”
” Are you sure?” She moves closer ” I told you, it might have a huge impact on your feeling towards Mona ”
” I don’t care, I need to know more…Muchen will tell me, I wish to find that out myself ”
” For that, we need to go to the forest of memories” she smiles “You will need to at least get a strand of lord Muchen hair, that will help us ”
I nod “Where is it located ”
” Far south ”
” How many days before our arrival ”
” Worry not, I will use transportation magic, in a blink of an eye ” I stand to my feet and she purred, her eyes filling with excitement over what we are planning, sometimes, I can’t help but wonder if am paying in her palms ” we just need his hair or any of his belongings ”
” Diamond ” I called and she look at me, approaching her direction, a frown creep into my face ” Why did you Stab me in that dream, you tried to kill me!!!”
” That was the only way out ”
” What if I had died”
“As I said, you will return to the heavens, with us, your family ”
” Why am I here?” I frown “If I truly belong there, what brought me here ” I look at her but she bite her lower lip ” Diamond!”
” Your foolishness crystal” she growls, I notice the anger in her eyes “Your damn foolishness ” and then she disappears out of my sight, why won’t she tell me more about my sin? Is it forbidden? Am I not allowed to know?
Walking out of the dining room, I just kept walking, staring at the halls in my quarters before my gaze landed on lord gu-mu, he must have been coming to see me “Milord?”
” Where are you headed?” He smiles” It’s quite late ”
” Indeed ” Lifting my head, I reply ” I wanted to see my husband, I suppose you came to talk about the divorce”
” Indeed ”
” Lord gu-mu, am afraid am not changing my mind ”
” Am not here to ask you to ” he smiled ” I simply wish to tell you that, you can push on with this plan ” I look at him, he seem calm and happy ” And if you wish, I can bring you to my kingdom, stay in my palace ”
” That will be imposing ” I reply ” I don’t want to impose on you ”
” Nonsense” he chuckled ” I wish to marry you”
” You flatter me your highness ” I fake a giggle ” Excuse me, I have to see my husband ”
” I will walk you there “The walk towards lord Muchen’s quarters was long with fake laughter, fake response, and smiles, I have always known that lord gu-mu have a thing for me…..which he must know I will never reciprocate.
” Thank you ” I bow my head and then I to lord Muchen’s quarters without waiting for his reply, when I get to his chamber, I smile happy that he isn’t here.
Moving closer to his drawer, I pick up his brush, and pull the strand of hair out before his voice startled me ” Are you trying to bewitch me now?” Turning around I stare at him “What are you using my brush for?”
” What…I …..I ….well ” stammering, I drop his brush then frown “Excuse me ” he hold my hand before I could even try to leave “Milord”
” Why were you here?” He furrows his brows ” You wanted to leave, you wanted a divorce and now you’re in my chamber, holding my brush?” He growl, am sure he is pissed “What do you expect me to think now?”
“Nothing” I pull my hand from his ” I just went to your chamber and now I wish to leave ”
” Jing ”
” Milord” Looking at him, I smile “Excuse me ” and with that, I left his chamber, the hair in my hand and accomplishment in my heart, I can’t wait to know why he can’t get rid of Queen Mona.
I will get to the root of this.
