CHAPTER FORTY: LORD MUCHEN PAST 2
Jing hurried back to her chambers, door closed, and then breathing in check ” Diamond?” My eyes move around, angry she is not here, don’t tell me she is still angry over what happened. ” Diamond, stop joking around, I have his hair “Still no response “You have to be kidding me ” growling, I sit on the bed and look at the strand of hair on my hands.
This is more like an invasion of privacy, these are things lord Muchen won’t want me to see but I don’t care, am tired of being in the dark between those two, I want to know more, I want to know why he cherishes Josephine, the reason he can’t let her go, I need to know it all!
” You shouldn’t say things like that out “Hearing her voice, I look at Diamond ” You didn’t think I will leave you alone did you? I promise to take you there anyway ”
” Thank you!” I smile ” I have his hair ”
” Hold my hand then “Doing as she said, in a blink of an eye I found myself deep in the forest, the trees seemed taller than most, the Atmosphere dark, and the surrounding a little dusty “We have to walk for a bit ”
” Walk?”
” Indeed ” I stare at the diamond moving in a straight pattern, having no other choice, I walk towards her and try to catch up “To get into his memories, they are a pillar we have to drop his hair ”
” A pillar?”
” Yes ” she responds ” I still don’t know how this works but my hunch will be that you are the only one who will see it, the one who drops the item alone has the opportunity to view what he or she long for ”
” As long as I view this, I have no complaints “After our little chatter, we finally arrive at the huge alter, with no trees around it, only flowing water, I didn’t hesitate to move closer, my eyes studying my surroundings, stopping, I look back at diamond, she nods and then I stare at the hair on my hands.
Thoughts have been flowing in my head ” Is this right?” Asking myself I look at the alter ” I have come this far, I should give it a try right ” Of course, no one replied to me, it was all a murmur after all ” I should get this done ”
Dropping the hair, I stare at it for a few minutes but nothing happened, not even a little light ” Is this fake?” Mumbling, a frown creep into my face, my gaze move back to stare at diamond but she is nowhere to be found, it was then I realized that even the alter isn’t here
I was still in the forest though, but the atmosphere is bright, the wind blowing, scents emitting from the trees pleasant ” Dracula?” Hearing a little girl’s voice, I move towards the sound and then stop behind the tree to watch them. She has short blond hair and grey eyes ” You really should stop crying each time Aunt punishes you ”
” Who said am crying “Dracula pick up a rock and throw it at the river ” I just hate the palace, I hate it there ”
” It’s your fault for being weak right ” I stare at the girl, one will know it is Josephine ” Men should be strong ”
” Am not a man ” he frowns “If you come here to lecture me, go back, I want nothing to do with you ”
” I can’t leave you ”
” Why not ”
” Because I wish to wed you one day ”
” Is not going to happen”
” Are you sure?” She turns and looks at him, Dracula has long white hair and red eyes ” You won’t find someone like me ”
” I will pass ” For some reason his comment made me smile, it is quite evident that he doesn’t like her, she is the one that is over him “Go away ”
” I refuse ”
I remain standing, watching how they argue over little things that made no meaning, I watch how Dracula laughs, he seems so happy, I have never watched him laugh before.
The wind suddenly becomes too strong, leafs moving too fast ” Dracula?” Josephine mumbled “We have to go ”
” It’s just the wind ”
” I said we have to go!!!!” She held his hands and pulled him up but he stepped back, she didn’t have the time to drag him before they arrived, huge lycanthrope….but why? It’s still daytime, why are they here? ” Run ” Josephine yell but Dracula just turn around, he look so shocked and paralyzed, I watch how Josephine, pushes him aside and takes the hit herself, their elongated fingers put a permanent mark on her face.
Blood splashes everywhere ” Who is there?” By the time the others came, the Lycans are gone, Josephine is unconscious and Dracula is crying, his hands on her body why did he try to wake her up
” Josephine!!!” He cries “You can’t die, if you do….how do we wed?” I stare at everything happening, shocked…I couldn’t even move but Josephine was able to do all that, just to save him.
But this isn’t why, this can’t be the reason, he won’t leave her for me.
My surroundings change once more, I stare at Dracula in a mist of people, they all look down at him, he has injuries all over his body ” To think you are the one to succeed to the throne ” one of them with black short hair, tall, wide muscles, and dark eyes, bend down and look at Dracula” you are weak, being a vampire but not able to even run fast? You should’ve never been born, bringing so much disgrace to our family ”
” I did not create myself” Dracula look at him ” I never asked for the throne ”
” But it is to be yours ” he frowns “The only way to change that is killing…..” He couldn’t finish his sentence when Josephine run to the center and hold Dracula, the scar on her face didn’t fade away ” And now your ugly-looking wife is here to save you ” The crowd begin to laugh ” As always ”
” Take that back!!!” Josephine frowns “You have no right to look at him that way, even this duel is not meant to happen ”
” But the crown prince gave his word and his word is absolute ”
” Lord Edward, I will wish for you to refrain from these kinds of disgrace, take your guards and insufficient men away from the crown prince ”
” And if I don’t?” He lean close then grab her by the face “Don’t think because you are crown princess, you can order me around” With just one push, she fell “Let’s move” I watched them leave, tears in my eyes, I had no idea he passed through all these
” My wife “Dracula look down ” Forgive me if only I can get stronger ”
” Dracula?”
” Stop interfering please “Dracula stand to his feet “Stop doing things that will make them hate you ” I watch him limp away but something didn’t suit well with me, my gaze move back to notice lord Edward looking at Josephine and not in a way that one will think it’s hatred.
I have a feeling that he fancies her.
Why do I feel that they are more to Josephine, am not getting love from her, yes, she is there for him but they are more to this, and am sure of it.
My surroundings change one more time and am standing in a bedroom, Josephine on the floor and Edward half naked” Why are you just there?” He growl and then his brows furrowed “You beg for Dracula’s life didn’t you? You said you will permit me to touch you, so why are you denying me now!!!!”
” I can’t do this!!!” She cried ” I know you spared his life earlier but I can’t do this!!!” I watch her knee and bow her head crying “Please let me go ” he grabs her by the hair and pulls her close to his bed.
” One doesn’t go back from their words ” Edward grinned” You will be mine tonight ” Using my hands I cover my mouth but then realized that if am able to see all these that means.
Turning around I stare at Muchen, the door isn’t fully closed, he is standing right there, didn’t move, hands clenched and tears dropping from his eyes, he couldn’t do anything, just because he is weak.
Josephine’s scream made tears drop from my own eyes too, I couldn’t believe Muchen did nothing for her, he let his monster of a brother do that to her, he raped her” Why aren’t you moving ” I yell “Go and save her!!!!” Just as I thought, he turn and left.

CHAPTER FORTY-ONE: LORD MUCHEN PAST 3
Before I could react more, my surroundings change once more and what I saw made my heart break into pieces” Why will you do such a thing!!!!” Josephine cries and I watch Dracula on the bed, wounds all over his body “You know how weak your condition is ”
” I never knew the maid will tell this to Edward ” he coughed, ” I thought the poison will kill him and solve all of our problems ”
” Dracula”
” Do you think I don’t hate myself!!!” He yell, tears dropping in his eyes ” I have been in this hell for years, right from my mother, mocking me of my strength, you know what, I sometimes wish I was never born ”
” How could you say that”
” I watch him “Dracula sit up a little ” I watch him touch you, rape you and you know what kills me, I couldn’t do anything ”
” How did you ”
He cut her off ” I told you millions of times to stay off my case, but you still beg him not to kill me for him to get you, and am sure he is not satisfied with all these ”
” He said he won’t lay his fingers on me anymore” I watch how pale and sad she has gotten ” am trying to believe him ”
” Am sorry Josephine” Dracula slowly bent down in front of her and bowed his head ” Please forgive me, I promise to get stronger, I promise” I watch how sad and broken he look, he was kind, am pretty sure Muchen was kind but then all these harden his heart.
Made him bitter.
My surroundings change one more time and I frown, each time this happens my heart usually skips a beat and I find it hard to breathe for a few minutes, it’s not something I want to keep experiencing.
I stare at Dracula in a cave, hair tied in a ponytail ” Muchen?” I mumble, he didn’t look back, it slipped my mind, his name is Dracula…moving closer I try to touch him but couldn’t.
He stopped walking when an elderly man came out, he look sick, and thin and put on black cloth ” What is it you are after?”
” Power ” he responded, hands clenched” I wish to be strong, strong enough to kill who I must ”
” Even when you will be deprived of sun?” I frown at the old man’s words, my gaze moving to Dracula, he looks confused for a moment “You will be strong enough to do what you must lord Dracula but the sun will be your weakness ”
” What do you mean?” Dracula moves closer “Vampires have no problem with sunlight”
The man chuckled” This generation of vampires are weak, of course, they can move in sunlight which causes your ancestors a lot of powers” he move closer to Dracula” You do not think having strong powers will come easily, to hold the power of darkness in your hands simply means you have to live in darkness ”
” I do not care “Dracula smile ” I just want the power, I have spent years trying to get this, years of searching, and now that it’s in my eyes, only a fool will let go ”
The old man chuckled and handed Dracula a cup fill with blood “Drink it ” Dracula didn’t hesitate, he gulp down everything and the old man smile, looking happy ” I can rest now ” he vanish completely and I look Dracula who confusion is evident in his eyes.
Turning around, he stops midway and places his hands on his chest “Impossible” he growls “It’s not beating “I watch him fall and cough blood, getting scared for him, I rush in his direction
” Dracula?” Surprisingly he looks at me and frowned” Are you okay?”
” Who are you?” He growls then clench his fist on his chest “Am I dying ?” I didn’t respond just watching him growl in pain.
” Dracula!!!” I heard two voices, male and female run in, I don’t know those two, and then a lady with white long hair and white eyes step in
” Margaret” Dracula look up at her, I notice how worried and scared she look the moment she rush in to hold him, his words concerning searching for powers, years hit me….where is Josephine? Did he leave her in Edward’s hands?
What happened?
” Save me!!!!” Dracula growled before losing consciousness, she cast a spell on them which made every one of them vanish, I frown, not believing that Dracula could leave Josephine and look for powers alone, that too for years.
Turning around I stare at the cave, I want to see what happened to Josephine, I want to see why she even let Edward treat her that way, yes dracula is weak but from the looks of things Josephine isn’t.
Right in the beginning, Dracula was to be king, it’s possible she wanted the title of queen and that’s why she stood around, or am I just being paranoid, am not sure Josephine will plot against Dracula.
She must have known that the door was open while she cry and faked it, if she didn’t want Dracula to see, the door will be closed properly, If she wanted it to be a secret, am sure she would have hidden it properly.
Am I missing something?
Suddenly, I felt myself falling into a deep out, complete darkness and then voices made me look around, this is not Dracula’s memory, that’s why everywhere is dark “You should tell him the truth ” I heard Edward’s voice “Get a divorce ”
” With time he will leave, with false hope of ever getting power, and then am sure he will perish there ”
” Josephine”
” Edward, trust me on this ” her voice got calmer ” I knew Dracula from childhood, he will go on a quest, and with that, I will heal myself from this stupid scar ”
” I am sick of watching him touch you ”
” I understand but I still care about Dracula” she paused ” I love him ”
“You do not love him ”
” Lord Edward, Dracula is in my heart, I cherish him but I can’t leave you, you’re stronger, ” I notice heavy breathing, they must be kissing and after a few minutes I heard “You’re too be king” I look left and for a little glimpse, I saw li-mu hiding behind the door.
And just like that, I was back in the cave, I have no idea what was happening, did Josephine betray Dracula, that will be touching if he find out, bending down, tears drop from my eyes, even the one person that keep telling him, she loves him, did this to him, she betrayed him!!!
I sniff and look around, am standing on a battlefield, everywhere dark, Edward dead on the floor, his army also dead, Dracula standing, blood all over his body, Margaret at his side, and the two other people I know nothing of.
I follow Dracula’s gaze to stare at Josephine on the floor, not dead but looking at Dracula” What are you planning to do now? Kill me?”
” Josephine”
” What, was it wrong for me to want something else?” She growl ” I wanted to be….” She didn’t complete her sentence before he bend down and hug her, I notice he didn’t want to think about how she betrayed him.
” I don’t care ” he mumbled ” I still love you ” and I gasped.
