” I’m doing this coz we’re friends. Friends do look up for each other in the times of need ” he stated.

But that wasn’t the complete truth, he his doing this because of his love for her.

Natalie slant him a awe glance. Why is he so nice and caring. All is there other motive behind his nice and caring nature, no, Darrell can’t have other motives, he just been nice.

” So how much is it ” he asked again.

” It’s four million, but Darrell don’t bother about it. I’m working for the money ” She said solemnly.

” So what of if I wanna give you the money, we you reject it ” he asked.

” Darrell there is no need for that, I’ll work for it” she said rejecting his offer.

” I want to help you, and I’ll do it ” he ask.

” But why ” she ask again.

” And I just told you am doing this coz of our friendsh¡p ” he replied with a wry mouth.

Natalie sighed, but she was happy at least someone will help her out. She don’t even know when she’ll be able to gather four million. And it risky to wait to get the money, her mum condition is getting worse and every day that past it risky.

” Thank you sir ” she said with a smile.

” It’s Darrell ” he corrected and sighed.

Natalie look at him sheepishly.

” Sorry Darrell ” she amended.

” You’ll get use to it ” he assured.

And then they were both staring at each other. Natalie felt butterflies dancing in her stomach and Darrell was already imagining her in his arm, cuddling her and whispering sweet nothing in her ears. And Telling her how much he loved her.

The reason why he refuse to tell her is because he felt it was too early to confess love. He needs to get to know her more before dropping the bombshell and that moment should be special for both of them.

” Can I go Darrell ” Natalie was already on her feet. She felt awkward in his presence as he refuse to remove his eyes from her.

” Very well ” he shrug.

” But on one condition ” he requested .

” What that ” she asked.

” Let’s exchange numbers ” he replied.

” huh ” she exclaimed.

” Yeah ” he said briskly.

And they both exchange numbers and after that Natalie left his room with weird combination of emotion. She was happy and excited coz he’ll pay for her mum’s operation and then she was having a awkward feeling as she remember his touch that lit her wh0le body. She shivered once more.

Midday 🌆

Natalie was done with her work for the day and coincidentally Beth was hers too.

They both took a stroll to the garden. They’re prohibited to go to some place in the mansion. But at least they can go to the garden and some part. And since Natalie came, she has not gone to the garden before. So she was curious to see how the garden looks like.

” Wow so beautiful ” she exclaimed stunned at the flower garden. They were two gardener watering the flowers.

They both waved at Natalie and Beth return it with a smile.

Natalie went to study the flowers. The garden is made up of different speciesof flower, lily, rose and so on.

” Oh my God look at the beautiful flowers ” she remarked happily.

” Why do they keep so many flowers here ” she was force to ask.

Beth didn’t answer but one of the gardener who was close to them answered her with a smile.

” It just to beautify the place ” he replied.

” Wow ” she exclaimed and the garden chuckled.

” You want some? ” he asked as if he knew she really want it.

” Huh won’t it be offence to our bosses ” she ask with a lot of thought.

” That’s if ma’am or sir even comes to know. They’re many of them. They won’t even notice. And beside you can take any flower you want ” he assured.

” Huh okay ” she said smile.

The gardener pluck two white Rose.

” One for you ” he handled it to Natalie and Natalie received it gladly.

” And one for you ” he said referring to Beth and she took it.

” Thank you” Beth and Natalie both chorus.

⌨ ” Can we meet ” Tanya texted Darrell.

He was at his office going through some files when Tanya texted him. When he saw the text he sighed.

Before he could reply her, another one came from her again.

⌨ ” Don’t get me wrong. I do owe you some apologizes Darrell. Let’s meet to talk. Please Darrell, please ” it reads.

Darrell wasn’t interested in meeting her. She was his past and don’t want to have anything to do with her. He even forget that they exchange number because all he thinks about now is Natalie his love.

He had earlier text Natalie to send her account details awhile ago. He forgot to ask Natalie when she was with him coz he was busy swimming in the pool of love. That toon his senses away. But Natalie was yet to reply him.

Darrell was contemplating on whether he should meet Tanya or not. After a lot of thought he decided to honor her request. While should he even be bother about her when he has move on. As for Tanya’s memories they are history now, he is yet to make new memories with his new love.

⌨ ” So where should we meet ” he texted.

It didn’t take 30seconds for Tanya to reply.

⌨ ” Let’s meet at Sweet recipe restaurant ”

Darrell wonder where this is heading too. She was calling him to their favorite restaurant back then. But he need not to worry he wasn’t bother. If she intend to come back to him he’ll have to tell her that he had move on from her.

⌨ ” Okay ”

Tanya and Darrell both sat at the restaurant table. Tanya order for Darrell’s favorite meal. ‘ Bacon and some salad.

Darrell seems to rush all their conversation. He wasn’t interested in talking with her, he just wanna go home to see his beloved Natalie.

Back then when he was dating Tanya . He once would’ve spend the wh0le day talking with Tanya and never wish to leave her sight or want her to go. But she never even paid attentions to those things, some times she always get angry and blame him for loving her too much. When ever he calls her, she’ll give excuse that she can’t come or even if she said she’ll come, Darrell will have to wait for her with his aching heart and kept wondering through out the day if she would ever show up.

” Darrell it seems you’re in a hurry ” she said hurt by the way he was rushing their conversation. She knew back then when they were both dating, he will always beg her to stay with him. But she took it for granted now she wants his time.

” Yeah ” he replied avoiding her hurtful gaze as he look elsewhere.

” Do you hate me that much ” she asked her voice was starting to quake.

” I don’t Tanya. I’ve forgotten everything. I’ve move on ” he said.

” I’m sorry for everything. Thanks for coming ”

” You already thank me when I came here. So how long will you keep thanking me ”

” Dar…. ell I was hoping if you can give me another chance ” she bit out desperately and Darrell who was looking elsewhere was force turn his head and stare at her.

Her heart was beating fast and her fingers was trembling as she anxiously await Darrell’s respond.

Natalie took the flower to her room. She tug it on the empty flower vase on her room table and then reach for her phone that was lying on the bed.

She intend to call her sister and ask after her mum. She’d saw Darrell’s text and open it.

⌨ ” Send your account details ” it reads.

She smiled and clinging the phone to her chest and sniffed. She decided to inform her mum and sister of this good news.

She was contemplating on if she should continue with the job. She left school because of her mum’s condition. Now when the wh0le ordeal is about to be solved, should she continue with the job. Of course she should how’ll she see money to pay for some of her fees, textbooks and other stuff. It was really difficult for her to train herself with the former job as a cleaner in a small cafe, the payment isn’t up to half one of this one she has now. She’ll have to gather a lot of money before thinking of going back to school.

She texted her account details to Darrell and sighed.

” Finally ” she murmured with a wide smile.

📞 ” Hello Judy ”

📞 ” Hello sis what’s up ”

📞 ” I got good news ” Natalie said eagerly to tell her everything.

Judy on the other end of the line was all curious to hear what she want to say. She was on her bed.

📞 ” First where’s mum” she inquired.

📞 ” Mum is preparing a meal ” she said rapidly coz she was interested in good news.

📞 ” so what’s the good news ” she ask curiously.

📞 ” Mum’s operation is gonna start soon ”

📞 ” Meaning? ”

📞 ” Meaning that I about to receive the money for mum’s operation ” Natalie release the bombshell and Judy in the other end was silent for awhile trying to assimilate what she just said.

📞 ” Nat What are you talking about ”

📞 ” Let me explain ” she sighed.

📞 ” Do you know the nice boss of mine who I told you about the other day ”

📞 ” Yeah ”

Judy didn’t wait for her reply she already knew what she was about to say and she stood up from where she sat and breath excitedly.

📞 ” Don’t tell me he’s the, gosh…… did he really gave you the money ”

📞 ” Yeah sure he’s about to transfer the entire four million to me. Am so happy Judy. Go give mum the phone. Let’s tell her about this ”

📞 ” Sure ” Judy said.

📞 ” Hang on, just hang on ” Judy trilled and end the call.

Judy was so excited. She scurried to the door and left for the kitchen. She kept shouting her mum’s name.

” Mum, mum ” she called repeatedly as she scurried down the stairs.

Mrs Jeanne who was in the kitchen turn off the gas and hurried out of the kitchen to confront her. She wonder why she was yelling her name like that.

” Why are you calling me like that Jeanne ” She asked

Judy was struggling to catch her breath.

” Mum ” she p-nted.

” Tell me Judy what wrong ” she demanded.

” Why is your ass worked up ”

” Mum Natalie have got the money for your operation ”

Mrs Jeanne look shock and bewildered.

” How? ” she asked with total disbelief.

” Her kind boss is gonna give her the wh0le money ” She stated.

Mrs Jeanne was smiling but the humor faded in her eyes. She was wearing a angry facial expression and Judy look startled at her disoriented appearance.

” Mum why the face ” she asked surprisedly.

” Put Natalie on the phone ” she requested huskily.

She did as she said and called Natalie.

📞 ” Hello Nat ” she said her voice shows disapproval.

📞 ” Hello mum ” Natalie innocently said.

📞 ” How could you do such ” Jeanne broke down in tears, taking both Judy and Natalie in utter shock

📞 ” Mum what are you talking about ” she asked innocently and hurt by the way she broke down in tears.

📞 ” So because you’re this desperate to get the money for my operation that you went ahead… tears prevent further speech.

📞 ” Mum what are you talking about ” she asked innocently.

📞 ” You slept with me, didn’t you ” Jeanne tossed indistinctly.

Natalie drew back as if she was slapped. She couldn’t believe her mum will think such of her.

📞” Mum do you honestly believe I’ll do such thing ” she ask almost in tears.

📞” What should I believe. How’ll your boss pay for such amount of money ” she queried with a frown.

📞 ” Mum do you honestly believe I’ll sell my self to someone. He was the one who offer to help. He just been nice and caring. I myself was surprised that he offered to help me mum. I swear I haven’t even get intimate with him, believe me mum ” she explained wearily.

📞 ” Are you sure about that. I can’t do such, never ”

📞 ” Then am sorry for doubting you. I was s
wondering why your boss gave you such huge amount. Since you say he just offer to help. I believe Nat ”

📞 ” Thanks mum ”

📞 ” Dear my regard to your kind boss ” Jeanne said.

📞 ” Yeah sure mum. I’ll send it coz he deserve it. And mum take care of yourself ”

📞 ” Yes I’ll and you too also take good care of yourself ”

📞 ” Yes mum. Can’t wait for your operation to be done ”

Jeanne hang up the call and Judy rushed to embrace her.

Darrell sighed and gave her a disappointed glance.

” Sorry Tanya I can’t ” he said sincerely and polite as he can.

” Please Darrell . I wanted to make up for what I’ve done ” she said almost in tears.

“Please Darrell please!! ” she begged over and over again.

” Stop it Tanya, stop pleasing. It as been two years and in this two years I have moved on from you Tanya. If you’ve ever loved me you won’t have cheated on me” Darrell pointed out.

” I know Darrell. I know what I did was the most stupid thing ever. I wanna repent from my mistake. All I ask is for you to give me a chance please ” she breathed out painfully.

” I thought you said we can just be friends. Why this now” he reminded with a frown

” Sorry Tanya I had moved on. I’m in love with someone else ” he inform her getting up to his feet, the last statement made Tanya heart flinch and every last hope broke into piece.

” you’re what? ” she asked with her aching heart.

” Sorry Tanya I would’ve consider you, but now my heart beats for another ” he said with a shrug.

Tanya struggled to suppress her tears with a lot of difficulty. She guess she was too late now. How can he get him now.

” Alright i und…. erstand , Who’s she? ” she asked her voice quaked.
