📚Chapter Thirty Eight📚

🌀🌀LINCOLN POV

Immediately she said those words I felt shocked, so shocked that I couldn’t speak.What the…!! What the heck is she saying? Does she even know that the simple word ‘kill’ could make her spend her entire life in prison??

No! She didn’t say that,I must be imagining things…Yep,that’s just it.

I watched her,waiting for her to laugh and say I was just joking but she didn’t, instead she kept quiet.

Only the sounds of her sobs filled the kitchen as tears rolled out of her red w-t eyes.She didn’t seem like she was joking,she was serious.

I felt my heart beat go slow then fast and then back to it normal pace.I couldn’t believe it.Belle? Belle did that??

“Am sorry Lin”.She sobbed. “I couldn’t stop myself,I was furious and blinded by hate.I wasn’t thinking at that moment,I just found it hærd to take my gaze away from the knife nearby.Am sorry”.

I finally sighed,it felt like my breath seized.

“Bel…”.I fought for words to say but none seems to roll out of my mouth.I wasn’t just shocked…I was speechless.

“Bel..”.I called again,breathing heavily.
“You shouldn’t have done that,I know Gary is bad but you just made your self worse than Gary by doing that.You shouldn’t make decisions without thinking, that can make you regret your actions and now you murdered him.What do you want me to say? Congratulations Bel,you are now a murderer?”.I asked and she wiped away her tears looking so down casted.

“Am not a murderer Lin! It was a mistake, I didn’t kill him deliberately. Besides,I can’t deny that he truly deserves something more than death,he has killed people even when they didn’t offend him so he himself deserves death”.She said and I gasped.

“Belle,stop bad mouthing him that way.You sound like you planned to kill him before you killed him”.I said and she sniffed,her eyes were swollen already.

I felt sad seeing her like this but I was mad at her for killing Gary.That was definitely the wrong thing to do! I wasn’t even having thoughts that she might kill me as well one day,I trust her, she can’t do that.

I understand why she did all that and I feel like slamming Gary’s head on the wall if he was still alive.He hurted Belle so much..

“Am so sorry Lin,I won’t say that again.I just remembered what happened after that and I felt so angry”.She said lowly.

“What happened Bel?”.I said and she frowned slightly.

“Well after I stabbed him I got scared, he died right in front of me I didn’t know what to do.I thought of killing myself but I couldn’t do that,I thought of running away but where can I run to? Before I could think of another option my mum walked in,she gasped when she saw Gary lying lifeless on the floor,she asked me what I did to him but before I could reply her my dad walked in too.He was shocked with the sight of Gary lifeless body on the floor and he immediately ordered the guards to arrest and caged me in the dungeon.I stayed there for one week and when I finally came out, I found out that prince Gary was already buried and that his parents were furious.His parents wanted me dead and when my parents got to know of Gary’s parents intention they hid me again but that didn’t work out so well.Gary’s parents found out where I hid and they brought me out,my parents were helpless on the matter and the only judgement for my crime was death.But my dad wouldn’t want me dead so he banished me instead and I found myself on earth. You must know the rest of the story”.She said and I smiled sadly.

“Am so sorry Bel,you have gone through a lot”.I said feeling so sad.

“Don’t be sorry Lin,it was my fate and am glad I was banished cause I met the most amazing person on earth which is you Lin”.She said and I blushed.

“Oh! Stop it Bel”.I said and continued eating.The food was already cold..

“Wow! Lin is blushing..”.Belle smirked and began eating but she suddenly dropped her spoon.

“Ugh..it’s cold already.I can’t eat it this way”.She complained.

“You can heat it if you want”.I said but she shrugged.

“I don’t want to,am full already”.She said and drank a cup of water.

“Hmm,okay”.I said and She sighed.

“Lin!”.She called and I turned to her.

“What?”.

“You haven’t told me your own story”.She said,beaming.

“Okay,their isn’t much to know about me though”.I said and continued. “Am Lincoln as you know,I was born at the wrong time and my parents regarded me as a mistake.My mum was impregnated at sixteen and um she gave birth to me,she didn’t want to stop schooling so she handed me to her parents.Her parents took care of me,fed me and when she was done schooling she took complete responsibility of me cause my dad suddenly disappeared. She graduated as a chef and I learnt how to cook from her but she suddenly left me when I was fourteen. She never came back,I guess she never cared about me.My parents,they never cared”.I said and a tear dropped out if my eye.

“It’s okay Lin,they lost a rare gem”.Belle said and I smiled.

“Thanks”.I sniffed and she stood.

“I will take care of the dishes,you should go rest”.She said and I nodded before she walked away with the dishes on her hands.

📚Chapter Thirty Nine📚

“Mum,where are you going to so early?”.I asked as I saw mum dressing up beautifully.

“Stop asking me stupid questions,Lincoln.I can anywhere I want to go to without your permission”.She snapped and my expression changed,I became sad.

She usually rise her voice at me but this time it was different,her tone was so cold and harsh.I wonder what I did wrong…

“Okay mum but when will you return?”.I asked and she frowned,glaring at me.

“Stop asking questions and pass my comb to me”.She said and I nodded before handing her the comb.

“Hmm mum,I actually wanted to inform you that breakfast is ready.Should I dish out your own share of the food?”.I asked again but she shrugged looking so unconcerned.

“I don’t care,you can go play with your lazy friend Timothy while am off”.She scoffed and began walking away with a bag full of clothes.The clothes weren’t much though..just few.

“And oh!”.She stopped walking and turned to me. “Please Lincoln,don’t wait for me.I might never come back”.

With that she walked away leaving me confused.

“Argg”.I gro-ned as my eyes flew open.It was another dream…another dream of that horrible day.

I do have this dream sometimes and it was exactly what happened the last day I saw my mum.I tried so hærd to forget that day but it keeps reappearing in my dreams.

My phone began ringing and I slowly placed it on my palm.It was my aunt’s call! Mum’s elder sister,she is the only relative who calls me.

“Lincoln!”.She said when I answered the call.

“Hey aunt”.I said smiling.

“Oh,Lincoln.I just called to ask if you need anything be it money or some provisions”.Said said and my smile grew w¡der.

“Thanks aunt but I don’t need anything now”.I said,feeling happy that someone still cared.

“Come on,Lincoln.You have been saying that whenever I ask if you need anything,you don’t have to lie,okay?”.She said softly.

“Thanks aunt but I don’t need anything.I..um only want some money”.I said and she chuckled.

“Alright then,I will send it to your account immediately”.She said and I gasped.

“Thanks so much,aunt”.I said and could almost feel her smile.

“I gotta cut the call now,I will you call you later”.She said and disconnected the call.

I sighed and kept my phone on the bed before standing up.I went to the bathroom,applied paste to my toothbrush before brushing my teeth.

I took my bath and after I was done,I wore a red shirt and creamy p-nts.I applied hair cream to my hair and Woah..I was done dressing up.

I then selected a footwear which was a creamy slipper with the image of a roaring lion.

I took a glance at the wall clock but gasped when I realized that the time was 9am.Oh my Geez! Belle!! She must have gone to work right and she didn’t even wake me up.

Sighing,I walked to the living room with my phone in my hands and switch on the TV.I searched for any interesting movie but I found none,so I switched off the TV.

Boring!

Why does I feel bored anytime Bel is not with me,huh?

I decided to play some music to keep myself entertained but suddenly as I was scrolling down I saw a recording which got me surprised.

I hærdly record so how the hell did this appear here? Filled with curiosity,I played the recording and shockingly it was Belle voice.

“Hi Lin..”.As soon as I heard that I flinched.Did she actually record this?

“I know you must be surprised to hear my voice in this weird thing you always had on you but the trust is that,since the day I saw this thing on you I immediately loved it.I do operate it most times if you are not watching and have grown so fond of it,so one day I kinda saw this sound record thing and I decided to give it a try.You were sleeping today and I didn’t want to wake you so I recorded my voice to tell you that I already made breakfast.I made fries,I hope you like it and it’s already on the dining table.So goodbye Lin,I hope you are not angry that I used this thing to record my voice but anyway I..um I love you Lin”.And that was the end of the recording.

I smiled and kept the phone aside,the sound of her voice already kept me entertained maybe I should keep hearing her voice more often.

I went to the dining room and like she already said a bowl filled with fries was already waiting for me.

I beamed and sat on one of the dining chairs before I began consuming the food.Wow! This taste so good.Belle now knows how to cook,isn’t that great?

After I was done with the fries I drank a cup of water but then I heard my phone beeping in the living room which was where I kept it.

I stood and headed to the living room before taking my phone on my palm.It was a message or should I say an alert!!

I smiled as I read the message all over and over again before heading to the bank
