Chapter Fifty Nine: TRIP TO THE DARK FOREST 2
Verdun step out of his carriage the moment they arrive in malgar ” alpha, do you think it is right for you to attend the ball, you don’t look the best and humans will be in there ” hearing Edward word I stop then look at him, he step back noticing the cold air emitting from my body.
” are you trying to say I can’t control my hunger for flesh ” a frown creep into my face ” do I look like an animal to you now beta ”
” of course not alpha ” he bow his head ” forgive me for the slip of words, it was never my intention to say it in that way, am only worried alpha…you have gotten pale again ”
” of course I have ” averting my gaze I continue to move to my mansion ” the only person that will bring me back is amor but you keep failing to track her, even Madeline is too weak to cancel her sister spell which is absurd ”
” what do we do now ” Nolan interject
” am going to that ball, it can help to take my mind off something’s for awhile” mumbling I exhale ” Nolan I want you to go and get Brandon, you won’t be attending the ball ”
” what??” He scream ” why me, beautiful ladies will be there, I might find my mate, you know Edward is good for this job ” he keep grumbling but when I shoot him a glare he lift his hands up ” on it alpha, no worries, I will bring him to you ”
” just get out of my sight ”

My gaze move to Edward, my brows inch high and with that he rush out leaving me alone in the living room.
” I hope you are ready Betty, they won’t be any help from me this time around ” Bennett mumble while casting a spell on her self, making her self invisible to all creatures, even myself, averting my gaze from her direction I look at the trees in the forest, they seem to be getting sad each day that pass by.
Plants do have feeling and these ones are sad, touching the largest of them all I exhale ” what happened to you dear one, you no longer bring forth fruits” wind blow causing the leaves to move about ” you again” hearing a voice I turn to my left to find three ghouls standing but not in their real form, they look like human ” do we look like some experiment to you?” Another growl while I just remain still, calculating all the moves I should take, how to kill them all, how to use all what I have learnt.
” I came to kill you three, is they more to say??” Furrowing my brows I face them ” our swords should do the talking right?” Smiling I watch the tallest among them step forward.
” let me finish her ” he smile licking his lips ” she do look delicious if you ask me ” the other two nod to his words, my expression didn’t change and when he move towards me with speed I remain still, he is fast, calculating the speed he is using I swiftly move to my right causing him to fumble and fall, instead of his finger cutting my head off he cut off the sad tree to show how strong he is and that was a close one.
” hmm” mumbling I chuckle ” how clumsy can one get ” he lift his head, his eyes has turn dark red.
” you’re just lucky ” he growl jumping to his feet ” last time you could see me but this time, you won’t be able to do that ” frowning I watch as he turn invisible, Bennett mention that this is the main power of a ghoul, they can run, have strength but their useful power is invisibility.
Holding my sword tight I close my eyes, if they is one thing I have learnt about ghouls is that even if they turn invisible their feet can cause noise but very hard for the ear to catch, if I can focus on only that am sure I will kill him in a wink of an eye.
Blocking other things from my mind I listen to the sound of the leaves and finally I got the sound of his feet but before I could step aside his finger scratch my face a little but then it hurt like hell, I could feel the blood dropping little, that didn’t stop me from removing my focus.
Now I could hear three feet sound, three of them are attacking, lifting my sword I swallow before it started, I had no idea how I keep moving on, I could feel another scratch on my neck which was a close one.
Their laughter fill the whole forest, Bennett voice ring in my head ” do you need my help?”
” no, stay out of this ” growling I frown, the next attack that came my way I swing my sword, cutting off his head while blood splash all over my body, I could remember the first time this happened, I couldn’t help but to throw up ” two more ”
The both face me the same time and I won’t lie, it was getting hot and hurtfully, I barely Dodge my death before finally cutting both of their head, if I wasn’t fast enough I might have died today.
Falling to my knees I open my eyes and cough, Bennett clap her hands before bending to my level, looking up at her I find her frowning ” you should have finish them within three minutes if only to use more of your speed energy ”
” give me a break will ya, I did kill them ” growling she inch her right brow high ” okay, maybe you’re right…do I have to train more ?”
” yes ” she mumble and I frown, I thought after this I will he returning to face Verdun, I have waited so long to be strong ” you will keep training in malgar, the life force of lycans won’t affect you that much anymore but that doesn’t mean it won’t, you will have to be leaving after six month to a place so that you can renew yourself ”
” wait ” moving closer to her I mumble ” you mean I can leave now? My inner energy is strong enough??” She nod but then I frown, I should be happy I will get to talk to Verdun now but the only thought of going there and seeing his cheating face hurts, it still hurt he could do such a thing but I have waited long for this.
” we shall leave by night fall ” Bennett stand to her feet ” Madeline is having a ball tonight, knowing her I expect her to force Verdun into attending and then you showing up will give the effect you want ” smiling I also stand to my feet.
Is time Verdun, watch and see how I will make you feel pain, you will regret ever meeting me or having me as your mate.

After they left I couldn’t stay alone without thinking and always my thought move to Betty, when will I see her, how she might be feeling, why she run away and how much hatred she is feeling for me now ” do I deserve this Betty ” looking at myself in the mirror I try fixing my tie ” is it my fault that I have waited so long to take Stella power? ” did you sneak into my room at night when I was just fifteen because you were asked to??” Furrowing my brows I avert my gaze, grab my jacket ” anyway that was years back, you are serving your punishment because you molested a young boy, you pretend to help him after His father throw him out of his house and then when you notice he has grown a little you started what you planned for” smiling I look at the painting ” I don’t blame you, am a hot guy and I don’t take offense from such things but you have to agree you look good when you’re in a painting ”
When I return I plan on taking it out of that room and back to the hall way, maybe I should put her in the room of nightmare so that she can experience what they call pain and stop blabbering nonsense out of that shit hole called mouth.
” alpha, do we leave now?” Edward asked and I nod as we walk towards the carriage step in and on we went, to the ball I know very well I won’t spend more than three minutes ” can I ask a few question alpha” giving Edward my attention he purred ” do not take this the wrong way but if you know Bennett hate you why send Luna over to her and why did you spend the night with Stella even knowing that Luna will hate you ”
” hmm” looking outside the window in the carriage I mutter carefully ” Bennett is the strongest full blooded witch still living, she is the only person strong enough to train Betty, I very well know Bennett hate me but one thing clear is that she will train Betty properly, the way she deserve to be trained ” thinking for awhile I smile before speaking ” I have no idea Edward, power make you do stupid things if you ask me ”

The carriage stop the moment we arrive, stepping off it I watch the bright light emitting from the hall the ball is taking place in, I still don’t know why Madeline love holding just big events when Christmas is at the corner.
I have never believed in the son of god so I definitely do not celebrate the day he was born ” humans religion are always absurd ” mumbling to myself I walk into the ball, the moment I did Madeline run into my arms.
” Verdun! You came ” when our gaze meet she withdraw ” you can be so uptight sometimes, if I had a way of finding your precious Betty I would have ”
” I still don’t know why you are so weak compare to Bennett, you two are sisters aren’t you?” Moving into the ball properly I grab a glass of wine ” are you just born weak ”
” don’t talk about being born weak Verdun ” Madeline frown ” am not a full blooded witch because my mother isn’t a witch but human and we are half sisters ”
” no wonder ” mumbling she frown while I chuckle shaking my head ” am in no place to mock you of your powers ”
” am glad you know ” Madeline smile ” will you like to know the main reason of this ball??”
” do I have a choice??”

” then shoot ”
” lady Morgana has decided to find a companion, that’s why men are mostly in here, she might choose you ”
” she is human ” I mumble as I watch her descend from the stairs ” she wish for death if she point her filthy fingers to my direction ”
” calm down Verdun ” Madeline chuckle ” am not done yet, she has a younger sister, she is finding a companion for her ”
” how is this my business Madeline?? ”
” oh it will be ” Madeline smile and I know something fishy is about to go down ” when you see her, you will find it hard to breath”

” I know that ” Madeline lift her glass to lady Morgana ” and trust me, you will burn for this one too ” remaining still I drink my wine, my eyes not leaving the stairs, I watch as a new song start playing, a black dress came to view before her face.
The glass I was holding fell from my hands at the sight of her face, she smile while holding her dress and stepping down gently from the stairs, Madeline was right, I am shocked, surprise and finding it hard to breath.
” amor??” When our gaze meet, the smile didn’t leave her face nor did she look excited, her eyes seem so hard to read and understand.
She has really changed but then is it for good or bad ?
