CHAPTER FORTY- FIVE: HER PAST 1
It’s been two days, two whole days free from queen duties, no side hatred, no one to give me this cold and distant gaze ” Miss Jing ” Fang had to drop the queen title in order for the village people not to see me differently
” Fang?”
” Look at these vegetables, am sure they will be very helpful for today’s meal ” I smile looking at how happy she is, Coming to the market seems to be her favorite thing to do
” I don’t know much about cooking but they look fresh ” She smiled then nodded “You should get them, I will look over there for any work I can get “Once again Fang’s face changed
” Milady ” she whispered, ” I told you, I will get a job, you need not worry ”
“You can’t be doing everything, I need to keep myself busy, don’t worry…… I will get back soon ” I didn’t wait for her reply before walking towards the huge restaurant, Stepping in, everyone stared at me, I knew for a fact that my clothes were of high quality and selling them would help but I just couldn’t, what else will I wear
” Excuse” I mumble when I get close to the lady in front, close to the kitchen ” I was hoping if I could work here?” She gave me such an angry look ” Or are you guys filled up?”
” You came looking for a job dressed like this?” One of the ladies behind mumbles and others laugh” Some will think she is better than us ”
” Ladies ” the lady at the front mumbles and they are kept shut” You should respect your elders “Her eyes take in my appearance before hissing “No work is available ”
” You mean, I stood here to receive such cheap words for nothing?” I mumble, gaining their attention “If you knew there was no work available, shouldn’t you all shut it?” My gaze moves to the lady at the back ” And yes, as long as I don’t work here…..am better than you three ”
” How dare…..”
Lifting my hands I stop her, then shoot her a glare, She steps back ” Watch your mouth ” I have been told I have a terrifying glare, Leaving the restaurant, I stop walking then bend down, How am I supposed to get something done when I can’t even control my temper, am no longer a queen, I can’t go to my father kingdom, I have no one else to feed me, I have to endure.
I chose this life for myself, and no one else, but it’s so hard, no one wishes to hire me, my money is running out and I don’t want to sell my clothes
” Excuse me?” Hearing a voice, I didn’t bother to lift my head, am sure I didn’t know the person anyway ” I heard you’re looking for a job ” That however made me stand up right away
” Yes ” I stop talking when our gaze meets, am pretty sure I don’t know this person but…..he is just so good-looking, is he trying to kidnap me and sell me?
” I just opened my tailoring shop and I need help with colours, am colour blind ” I furrow my brows at that
” Then how are you a tailor?”
” I always had someone close by to tell me each other but he recently moved away and died”
” Died?”
” Yes, I heard he was murdered ”
I cover my mouth ” That’s horrible ”
He nodded and then smiled “You dress wealthy, it’s hard to believe you were looking for a job ” he started moving and asked me to follow “Did your father’s company go bankrupt?”
” Oh no ” I giggled ” my dad rules a small village, he is doing well ”
” So why are you here?” I stopped walking and then looked at him, I didn’t say that because I wanted to, it seemed like I couldn’t even lie when I was close to him ” You noticed?” He asked and I stepped back
” Forgive me but I do need help in my shop, am truly color-blind but my presence is too holy for someone to lie ”
” What do you …..” He cut me off
” I will stop asking questions, just come with me ” I didn’t move, The last time I went to a tailor shop, I almost got eaten, and now…am getting these creepy feelings from this man
” Your friend, what’s his name?”
” Huh”
” The one that died ”
” Edward, I heard he was working for the palace ”
I try keeping my facial expression the same “Do you have any idea why he died?”
” Hmmm” he smiles” am incapable of lying but I do wish these questions come to a halt, I will be your boss and you certainly don’t need to know more about me”
” Am sorry but me working for you is impossible ”
” Worry not, am not here for revenge” his words took me by surprise, My eyes watched him step closer and place his number in my hand “Call me when you have a change of heart ” and with that, he left, I look down at my hand and frown, if he isn’t here for revenge then what? What could he possibly want?
I had no idea how Edward died, all I know is that Muchen dealt with him, the time, place, location, and day of death are not in my memory because I have nothing to do with it, which only means I should not fear, I need to stand tall and confident.
Moving into the market, I stared at the slaves that were being sold, A particular small girl came into view, should be in her teenage years, her hair short and red, blue eyes and innocent looking face ” I wish I could save her”
“Fifty thousand” Hearing that voice, I turn around and stare at Edward’s friend’s face, he look so satisfied and I immediately fear for the girl, if Edward can kill people, he should be no different from him but I can’t do anything.
It’s her fate
Shaking my head, I fasten my steps from there before I do anything else, heading back to the little house, Fang could get for us, I frown at the sight of three hours and carriage at the side.
Opening the door, I step in only to find lord Muchen sitting on the couch, looking really pale and super weak, the moment he saw me, I noticed life appear in his eyes again ” Jing ”
” Your Highness” I mumble ” what brings you here?” I asked, he looked at me for a while before standing up, and after taking three steps he collapsed on the floor and I frowned, he couldn’t even stay for more than a week without being close to me.
Bending down I look at him, how sick he looks” Should I be happy I have this much control over you?” Mumbling I look at the guards “Help him to the room ”
Watching them take him, Fang rushed to my direction ” Milady, what do you plan to do now?”
” Plan?”
” Am sure he wants you back ”
” I don’t plan on going there, Is either he get rid of Mona or am staying “The guards step out and I look at her “Wait here ” She nods and I move into the room, shut the door then stare at him.
“It just occurred to me that beginning to hate you “I mumble, I exhale ” I mean, my heart doesn’t flutter when it sees you anymore, instead it contrasts, reminding me of the pain you keep causing me ” sitting next to him, I look at him ” but I still hate to see you in pain ” picking the knife on the drawer, I cut my hand a little then place it on Muchen lips, my blood drop for the fourth time before he open his eyes and sink his teeth into my arm.
I didn’t cry or moan in pain, we stared at each other…..with something similar in our eyes, anger, waiting for one of us to bend and am tired of being the one to always submit to him “Enough!” I growl when I start feeling dizzy, he let go, and colors ate back to his face “Why are you here?” He said nothing, just kept staring at me ” lord Muchen, what brings you here?” I repeat myself and he finally speaks
” Return to the palace Jing ” his voice calm “Stay with me ”
” I wish not to ”
” I hate the fact that you keep searching for jobs ”
” How did you…” He cut me off
” Come back to me ” his hands engulf mine ” Please”
” It’s suffocating” I growl and pull my hand from his “You should stay with Mona, you chose her ”
” Please ” he whispered ” I beg of you ” they were sadness in those eyes but I had already made up my mind, I will never go back to that death hole.
” Never ” I stand to my feet ” Please hurry up and leave ” Bowing my head, I look at him one last time and then leave.
” I will send her away ” his voice made me stop, I turned around and stared at his face, it was the first time I had seen his real facial expression “Stay with me Crystal, don’t leave me” he was sad.
Just the call of my name brought back memories.

” I will send her away ” his voice made me stop, I turned around and stared at his face, it was the first time I had seen his real facial expression “Stay with me Crystal, don’t leave me” he was sad.
Just the call of my name brought back memories, memories I wish never returned ” I don’t know what you speaking of “I replied, I stared at him in his weak state, how he exhaled then fell back to the bed ” you should hurry up and leave ”
” I don’t know what you speak of either ” I watch how he avoids my gaze, closes his eyes, and remains quiet, that only means he doesn’t plan on leaving without me
” You really didn’t have to come ” I mumble ” I was feeling better without you “Those were my last words before leaving the chamber, shut the door, pull out that tailor card, and look at it carefully.
I need a job to fully get away from Muchen “Milady” Fang approaches me and I frown ” I think you should go ”
” Go?”
” Your father plans on visiting the palace soon ” I frown at that, all the years I was in that terrible place, he acted like he had no daughter, and now, the news of my divorce has him on the edge
” I don’t care “Moving towards the dining room, I pull out a car and sit ” I don’t have a father ”
” As you wish milady ”
” Fang?” Looking at her, I smile “Do you think am taking the right step, I don’t wish to make my re mistakes in my life, I just want to live peacefully from now on”
” If it’s peace you seek, am sure you have taken the bold step ” She moved closer ” Permit me to speak my queen, but could you give lord Muchen a second chance ” I furrow my brows at her words “It might work out this time around, it seems like he can’t live without you ”
I nod my head, She doesn’t know how right she is, he literally can’t live without me, and am sure that’s why he is here ” I don’t think he deserves it ” She nods then leaves, and my gaze lowers back to the card, exhaling, I miss be my gaze outside the window, I have nothing else to think about, my mind is just blank.
” You seem depressed ”
” Not really ” replying I cough “You should be in bed, lord Muchen ”
” Indeed ” Silence accompanied his words, my gaze remaining on the sun going to bed ” Jing ” he finally broke the silence and leaned close, I could feel his breath on my neck, I didn’t flinch nor blush, Do I hate him now ” believe me, am sorry ”
” I never said I doubted you ”
” I don’t see you have only my food ”
” Can we be sincere with one another?” I asked, no response came within minutes before his sudden hot breath caught me off guard, I flinch and he placed his hand on my shoulder
“I indeed need you Jing, you’re my life ” he mumbled, still hiding his face from me ” I might not know much but one thing is certain” I turned and looked at his face, for once, many emotions were in his eyes ” I miss your laughter, I missed seeing your jealous face, in summary ” he bends down ” I missed you and I also need you ”
” Hmmm”
” I don’t know much about love anymore Jing” he chuckled ” am an old man but please, don’t leave me, stay by myself ”
” I will think about it ”
” I promise not to anger you ” he begged “Please ” I stared at him, he was at his vulnerable moment, not knowing what to say, I stared at him, he look sincere and all I could do was nod “Does that mean I can kiss you?”
I blush at that ” no ”
” Why” he frowned ” am sure you are still my wife ” he leaned close, and I could feel his breath on my face “You sure I can’t?” My mistake was lowering my gaze to his lips, which seemed to have signaled him to close the final space between us.
After all my words of not giving him a second chance, why am I this easy for him, what if I regret all these ag….. I stop thinking when he dives his tongue into my mouth, making me gasp and feeling some different pleasure in my body, I expected him to do more but he pulled back with a smile
” I missed that ” he used his fingers to touch my lower lip, rob them then clear his throat “It’s late, want to come to bed?” His words brought lewd thoughts to my head
” Isn’t that too early?”
” Early how? ” He grinned” What do you mean ”
” I haven’t fully forgiven you ”
He looked at me confused “What do you mean? I only ask if you are ready to go to bed. What are you thinking ” That made my face only get red, fully red as I looked away ” Jing ”
” Of course I will go to bed, isn’t that obvious” Standing up, I move to the chambers and then shut the door, What’s wrong with me? Why am I suddenly heating, I can’t even breathe properly anymore.
It takes only one word to get me back to my feelings. Is this how weak I am? Sitting on the bed, I exhale then cover my face “What’s wrong with me? I can’t even get angry for long. Why can’t I just stand my ground!!!!” Growling I fall to the bed and close my eyes ” I can’t deal with this, I just can’t deal with all these, how do I live without Muchen if he just says sorry I will come running to him ”
” Are you okay?” Hearing Diamond’s voice, I wave my hands
” I wish to be asleep right now ”
” Not when you keep moving around the bed with a flush expression”
” It happens okay ”
” If you say so Crystal “The bed sinks a little, notifying me she is on the bed “Good night ” she touches my head, and just like that I fall deep into slumber or deep into the weirdest dream

I found myself sitting by a river side, wearing a weird white dress, and muchen with long white hair was in the water smiling “What got you so moody ?” He furrows his brows “Want to swim? ”
” Aren’t you worried about your wife?” I had no control over what was coming out of my mouth “You seem carefree ”
” I do?” Looking at Muchen, he just shrugged his body and stared at me, I could feel myself blush “This time is just for me and you”
” But ….”
” Relax crystal, I just need your help with some powers, and you assured me that you will help me right?”
“Yes I did say that but ” I remain quiet and then look around ” Helping you means risking my life and I don’t want to do that for no course ”
” What do you mean?”
” Helping a creature like you means banishment from the heavens ” I look at him, with a serious gaze” If am going to get banished then get at least you….” He leans close to my face and I stop talking
” You’re beautiful”
He did fool me knowing I had slight feelings for him, I might not know this then but Muchen is a bastard.
And then, I woke up to a drop of water on my face
Muchen eyes staring at mine “You had a nightmare” It’s obvious that he never cared about Josephine.
