Chapter 105 :- A day to remember (contd)

🌹 ROSE 🌹

Interesting things have been happening ever since Evlyn disappeared. First it was death of small villages outside Ibadan and now there’s the massacre of the anti magic users which is awfully strange and suspicious. Something wasn’t right about all of this and I believe Evlyn is behind this but what’s her endgame?
Getting the council to be involved in tracking down Evlyn would be a waste of time cause ever since she disappeared, they’ve been less cautious and more relaxed. They still have no idea that the wolf hasn’t left out backyard. Nevertheless, I decided to let them know and hear out their response.
Presently here inside the council hall, the council members including the Supreme witch assembled after I told them I had something to report as regards to Evlyn. What annoyed me was the fact that Iyunloye was also present as well. Recently, I’ve been having suspicious about her role in the council, she puts her nose in confidential matters and give her own input as if she’s in charge. It turns my stomach to see the Supreme witch taking her opinions. One of these days, I’m going to gut this bitch but for now, I have important tasks ahead.

Orisaye ➡ Rose, we would like to hear your report now.
.

Rose. ➡ Sure thing. A week ago, there have been reports of mysterious deaths in small villages and now there’s the recent massacre of the Anti magic users. Something tells me that Evlyn is working in the shadows.

Iyunloye ➡ May I speak your eminence?
.

Orisaye ➡ Sure.
.

Iyunloye ➡ What Rose said about the massacre is true but I doubts it’s Evlyn, I believe it’s her followers’s doing.
.

Rose ➡ For what reason would they kill the Anti magic users? Why now? For centuries, nobody has ever attempt to make sure a move until now. I strongly believe Evlyn is behind this.
.

Orisaye ➡ What are you suggesting we do?
.

Rose ➡ We find her. Perhaps we should capture one of her closest followers, torture them until they reveal her location.
.

Orisaye ➡ If you’re sure about this then carry on. Just make sure you don’t cause a scene.
.

Rose ➡ Will do.
.

Iyunloye ➡ Do you have anyone in mind that you might capture.
.

Rose ➡ Bitch, that’s none of your business. Now if you’ll all excuse me, I’ll be taking my leave.

Words couldn’t describe how excited I was when the Supreme witch gave me the green light. Things should be fun at least for me but for now, I would like to go home and get some rest. After leaving the council hall, I teleported back home to Ibadan to relax considering the fact that I was now pregnant. My stomach was yet to grow but I can still feel the signs.
Shortly after I arrived home, I met Nancy in the living room polishing her nails. Ever since she started staying in this house, she has been glowing and looking more beautiful with each passing day. Thanks to Lionel’s new job (courtesy of his late boss which we killed and ate), Nancy has been spending a lot of money on herself like there’s no tomorrow. Although she doesn’t contribute anything to the house, I don’t mind having her cause Lionel’s not the only one who gets to enjoy her company at night.

Rose ➡ Olosho, see as you fine.
.

Nancy ➡ Bitch, you fine too nah. Come make I take care of you.
.

Nancy approached me with a hot lustful kiss which I gladly accepted, we kissed and caressed each other whilst standing until we fell on the couch still kissing. We might not have stopped if not for my kids whose voice I heard upstairs.

Nancy ➡ So how’s the meeting?

Rose ➡ It went well but I’m suspecting Iyunloye, she’s crossing her boundaries in a really annoying way.

Nancy ➡ You want me to fish out what she’s cooking?

Rose ➡ No, I’ll handle that but for now. I just want to rest and enjoy the evening. Where’s Lionel?

Nancy ➡ Upstairs in the bedroom sleeping. I juiced him out earlier this afternoon.
.

Rose ➡ Don’t kill my hubby before his time. I might have him do me tonight.
.

Nancy ➡ He’s going to need plenty of energy to do that (laughs)
.

Suddenly in that moment, Nancy and I felt a loud commotion outside the house, people were busy screaming and running not to mention the clashing sound of metal as accidents occur, our neighborhood was filled with chaos. In that moment, I teleported outside the house to check what was going on and as soon as I got outside, I saw the sky covered in dark clouds and red lightning which sparked continuously. I also noticed from a distance a plane covered in flames falling from the sky. It didn’t take me long to realize what was going on, this was Evlyn’s doing and she was sending a message. In that moment, Nancy joined me outside witnessing the chaos that was going on.

Nancy ➡ Omo, this is crazy. Evlyn doesn’t let up.
.

Rose ➡ I must say I admire the way she operates. She goes all out.
.

Nancy ➡ So what are you going to do? Are you going to save these humans?
.

Rose ➡ For where? (laughs) Babe, this is Rose, you’re talking to. The humans can go to hell but I’m going to respond in kind. Let’s wait until night fall.

🐞 CHRISTEN 🐞

Coming out in the open after days of being locked in my house sure feels good. Things may been bumpy a while back but I’m glad it didn’t spiral out of control. After leaving Abuja, Riley and I went to Calabar to check on my Esther, she has been the one coming to see me numerous times so it’s time I returned the favor. After arriving in Calabar, Riley and I headed straight to Esther’s home which was in Ibeno local govt, and as soon as we arrived there, we were received by her son Akpan and a 15yr old human girl who I later found out was her nanny.

Akpan ➡ Aunt uncle, good afternoon.
.

Nkoyo ➡ Good afternoon.
.

Riley ➡ Hello kids.
.

Christen ➡ Little girl, where’s Esther?
.

Nkoyo ➡ She’s at the beach ma.
.

Christen ➡ What are you doing in this house? Are you a neighbor or something?
.

Nkoyo ➡ No, I’m just a house help.
.

Christen ➡ Oh.. You’re too fine to be a house help. Anyways, we’ll be going now. Later Akpan.

Akpan ➡ Good bye Aunty.
.

After that, Riley and I left for the beach which wasn’t far from Esther’s home and as soon as we arrived there, it didn’t take us long to spot her. Just a few meters away from shore sat Esther in a naughty bikini that had most of the men in the beach staring at her lustfully. I couldn’t help but laugh remembering the outing we did a few months ago in Lagos. In that moment, Riley and I approached Esther and she was surprised and happy to see us especially me. She was so excited that she hugged me and gave me a kiss. Riley was surprised but he said nothing.

Esther ➡ Christen! You’re out?
.

Christen ➡ What does it look like?
.

Esther ➡ Oh thank the seas gods. I was worried about you.

Christen ➡ I’m not so sure. You seem to be relaxed on the beach.

Esther ➡ You know us mermaids now. We have to get wet every now and then.

Christen ➡ Who was that fair little girl in your house?

Esther ➡ She’s my nanny. She’s a beauty isn’t she? If Akpan hadn’t taken a liking into her, I would have ate her.

Riley ➡ Jesus.

Esther ➡ What? You shouldn’t be surprised. This isn’t something new.

Christen ➡ Please don’t eat her. She looks so innocent.

Esther ➡ The innocent ones always taste better but I won’t eat her. (Laughs)

Riley ➡ Where’s Oliver?
.

Esther ➡ He’s not around but he’ll be back.

Christen ➡ Is there any place that we can go and relax? I’m out here to have fun.

Esther ➡ Really? How about I take you deep into the sea?
.

Christen ➡ Let’s go. Riley, can you wait for us, we’ll be back.

Riley ➡ Sure, don’t stay too long.
.

Esther ➡ Just take a tour around Calabar and check the lovely sites. Come on, Christen let’s go.
.

In that moment, Esther yanked me along with her into the beach water and as soon as we were inside the water, she kissed me again except only this time it was longer and more intense. I was turned on by the kiss that I couldn’t resist. Luckily for me, we were inside the water away from public eyes. After the kiss, Esther released me and then tore of my clothes and underwear, I was literally naked.

Christen ➡ What was that all about? Wait. How am I talking under water?
.

Esther ➡ It’s the effect of my kiss which lasts for about 3hrs.

Christen ➡ What about my clothes?
.

Esther ➡ (laughs) Believe me, you don’t need it. Come on let’s go.
.

In that moment, Esther grabbed hold of my hands and swam nose down with incredible speed. Her fins moved in a zig zag motion which looked so cool. Within 5 minutes, we had reached about 60 meters down the sea level and it was so dark and cold down here. Before long, Esther and I reached the far end of the sea level which was covered with thermocline. I thought we were going to pass through but Esther halted.

Christen ➡ Can’t we pass through this zone?
.

Esther ➡ I can but you can’t. Your body can’t stand the cold temperature, you’ll die.
.

Christen ➡ But I can breathe down there right?
.

Esther ➡ Yes.
.

Christen ➡ I have an idea.
.

In that moment, I casted a water spell by creating a thick dense water shield around me and as soon as I did that, Esther swam through the thermo layer and I followed her. The thermocline was different from the upper sea level, it wasn’t that dark it was misty and it also filled lots of strange sea creatures. Esther swam through the sea creatures like they were nothing but the amazing part of all this was watching her communicate with them. After we had swam far deep into the thermocline, we reached another thermocline and passed through it and unlike the previous one, this one was where the mermaids of calabar live.

Christen ➡ Omo, there are different species of you. So many.
.

Esther ➡ (laughs) Girlfriend, you haven’t seen anything, come on, let’s swim downwards towards the vortex.
.

Christen ➡ What vortex?
.

Esther ➡ Follow me jare.
.

I didn’t know what to say so I followed Esther and as we went down, I was what she was talking and I must say it was beautiful and at the same time terrifying. Here below the thermocline was a vortex so big that it could swallow the half of Ibadan. The water current here was so strong that it was pulling me and Esther towards the vortex. At first I thought this was dangerous but then Esther swam towards the vortex urging me to join her which I did. Entering the vortex is like being pulled by force, the energy surrounding was so powerful that it made me dizzy to the point that I nearly threw up. Within a matter of seconds, the vortex brought Esther and I to a different sea level and this one was different than the rest. Unlike the others, the temperature was suitable and the water wasn’t that cold not to mention its color which was a bit light blue than the rest. In that moment, I cancelled my water shield and swam along with Esther enjoying the beauty of the sea, there were so many water species all of with where different in size and color. The mermaids here too were populated. It was such a lovely sight.

Christen ➡ Which part of the sea is this?
.

Esther ➡ Let’s just say that we’re no longer in human waters. This one right is way beyond their reach because they can never find it even it takes an eternity. This is the kingdom of the mermaids.
.

Christen ➡ I can see that. Wait, is that the sun I’m seeing?
.

Esther ➡ Come let’s go.
.

Esther grabbed hold of my hand and took me to the top where I saw something strange and unbelievable. Here before my very eyes was a different world and the beings above were not humans.
.

Christen ➡ Esther, what is this place?
.

Esther ➡ The edge of the earth. This is where all supernatural beings stay. It’s like our utopia.
.

Christen ➡ I’ve never heard of such a place.
.

Esther ➡ That’s because you’re too busy clinging onto Riley. The world is a lot bigger than you imagine. The humans have their side and we have ours.
.

Christen ➡ This is amazing.
.

Esther ➡ Do you want to explore?
.

Christen ➡ Wait, what about Riley?
.

Esther ➡ Ah Christen, you can manage without him. Besides I’m sure he’s busy checking out Calabar. Besides what’s the worst that could happen?

🌹 RILEY 🌹

Calabar is sure a nice place to come for a tour and relax away from all your troubles. It’s no different from Ibadan but it has more lovely sceneries. It’s been a while since Christen and Esther went into the sea. At first, I was worried but then I realized those two were besties and they were probably fooling around so I decided to use the opportunity to check out Calabar.
The first thing I did was to check out the restaurants in Calabar, I’ve been hearing how delicious their dishes were so i decided to try it out. The dishes surely didn’t disappoint and they were one of the best I’ve ever tasted but they were sure expensive. After the restaurants, I decided to check out the historical sites of Calabar. As a former Professor of history, I still have a itch on it and I took my time to learn what I could. After the history lesson, I went out to check the chilling sites considering now it was getting dark and I must say I wasn’t disappointed. One of the reasons why Calabar’s famous is because of the rumors of having the most beautiful ladies in the country. Well, I don’t believe that but the ladies I saw this evening were sure beautiful and attractive but there were some few setbacks. Amongst these ladies were mermaids, they might not have shown their real form but their bewitching looks gave them away. I felt sorry for the poor guys following for them cause little did they know that they would end up being food and robbed of the wealth or senses eventually. My tour in Calabar was really fun and as much as I would of the day to end like this, something cruel and vile occured.
Presently as I was heading back to Ibeno beach in case Christen returned, the skies grew dark instantly and a powerful gush of wind swept the place but this wasn’t natural. As soon as the wind swept the beach, there were loud horrific sounds coming from the beach which made people run for their lives but the worst was yet to come. In that moment, the waves of the beach began to get wild and bigger, it was like it had come to life. At first, I thought it was some kind of spell but then I saw mermaids and water demons behind the chaos. Without wasting any more time, I ushered the people out of the beach before the mermaids and demons got to them and just as I was about to make a quick get away myself, I spotted a young lady out in the waters desperately trying to swim to shore and the worst thing she wasn’t even close and the mermaids were gaining on her.
In that moment, I teleported out there in the waters to save the young lady but what I didn’t realize was that one of the mermaids had gotten close and had intercepted me by jumping out of the water. As soon as we hit the water, she dived us deep into the water trying to drown me but I teleported us out of the water and into the air where I smacked the bitch off me. Before long, other mermaids swarmed me trying to tear me apart. I was in their territory now and I had no chance but I wasn’t concerned for myself, I was more worried about the young lady. For a moment, I thought she was safe but then I realized she wasn’t, the poor thing was struggling with one of the mermaids who was busy toying and taunting her.
Honestly I thought all hope was lost for that lady but then something miraculous happened. Suddenly, an explosion occured in the water that scattered the mermaids and myself to various directions. In that moment, a big vortex opened and out of it emerged the most beautiful and stunning mermaid I’ve ever seen, her hair had this rainbow color and fire in her eyes was just intense. What surprised me was seeing her stand on water as if she was on land but this was nothing to what came next. As soon as the mermaids saw her, they shrieked with fright as if they had seen the devil, some of them swam back into the water while some tried to attack her. Honestly, I thought she couldn’t handle them cause they were at least a handful of mermaids but to my surprise, the rainbow haired mermaid used the water whips just like Xeira and scattered the mermaids in one swoop, her whip was even more powerful and flexible than Xeira’s. After she dispersed the mermaids, she trapped them inside a thick water shield and sunk them back into the water.
Through out all this time, all I did was watch doing nothing, I had even forget about the young lady and her condition. In that moment, the rainbow haired mermaid looked at my direction and stared at me calmly, she pointed out her finger and showed the young lady who was unconscious and already on shore.

Zenti ➡ Take the young lady and go. I’ll handle things from here.
.

Riley ➡ Are you sure? Those demons heading towards us are a lot.
.

Zenti. ➡ Trust me, just go before things get ugly.

I said nothing after that, I teleported straight towards the young lady and took her in my arms but I didn’t leave immediately. I wanted to see what this mermaid was going to do about the demons.
In that moment, the rainbow haired mermaid turned her attention towards the direction of the demons and then did something very incredible. Within a blink of an eye, she somehow got manipulate the water making it wild as if there was a storm going on. After that, the water came to life roaring in a horrifying way, the demons who didn’t take care to notice the change in the water rushed head-on towards us and before they could get close, the unbelievable occured. Within a blink of an eye, the water took the shape of giant tentacles and began to capture the demons sucking them into the water. Some of demons who saw what was happening flew upwards and fled for their lives. The demons who were caught struggled to break free and before they could do that, some kind of monstrous being emerged from the water and dragged them in with ease.
The monster was so big and horrifying that no amount words couldn’t describe it’s horrible features.
After the demons were sucked in, the dark storms cleared, the wind died down and the water level became calm. I was stunned by this mermaid’s magic because it was very powerful. Just as I was about to go away, the rainbow haired mermaid began to laugh stretching out her limbs, I was surprised by her sudden change of mood cause mermaids were proud and pompous creatures but this one was kind of carefree and friendly. As I was busy staring at the mermaid, she turned around and saw me. What came next form her was just unbelievable.

Zenti ➡ Has anyone ever told that you’re crazy?
.

Riley ➡ Am I?
.

Zenti ➡ Yes. You don’t smell like other humans. What are you?
.

Riley ➡ It’s a long story.
.

Zenti ➡ Well, you certainly don’t seem scared of me.
.

Riley ➡ Believe me, I’ve seen my share of the supernatural.
.

Zenti ➡ Don’t let it get into your head.
.

Riley ➡ May I ask who are you?
.

Zenti ➡ I’m Zenti. Princess of the mermaids and heir to the throne. You?
.

Riley ➡ Riley femi! You’re different from your mermaid sisters.
.

Zenti ➡ Oh, I’m not like them. I admire all forms of life including humans.
.

Riley ➡ I can see that.
.

Zenti ➡ Okay, take care and forget everything you saw and I was never here.
.

Riley ➡ Wait, I’m sure you must have heard about the crisis going on?
.

Zenti ➡ You mean Evlyn? I know.
.

Riley ➡ Since you’re powerful, I was hoping if you can help.

Zenti ➡ No.
.

Riley ➡ Why not? Humans are dying.

Zenti ➡ I have my own problems to deal with.

Riley ➡ Evlyn is out to destroy the world. Even the mermaids are not safe.

Zenti ➡ (laughs) Oh please! Witches are powerful but they’re not as powerful as the sea. Their magic can only work on land but if they dare to confront the sea, they’ll drown.

Riley ➡ Please at least try to consider it.
.

Zenti ➡ I will but there’s something I’d like to ask you. Have you heard of any mermaid called Xeira?
.

Riley ➡ I know her, I’ve even fought with her. Who is she to you?
.

Zenti ➡ My step sister and a traitor.
.

Riley ➡ Well, she’s working with Evlyn.
.

Zenti ➡ Where did you last seen her?
.

Riley ➡ In Osun.
.

Zenti ➡ I see.
.

Riley ➡ If you want I could help.
.

Zenti ➡ Don’t bother. I’ll handle her personally. See you some other time.
.

Riley ➡ When is that?
.

Zenti ➡ When I want you to see me. Keep your head down human, you never know which day will be your last. So long human.
