Chapter 124 :- Supreme Art.

Standing cautiously in the cold freezing snow with his hands tightly wrapped around his gun, Chris glares at the witch before him waiting for her to make her move. Monife who was busy reading Chris’s mind soon approaches him but as soon as she had taken a step, Chris quickly aims his sniper at her and fires.
Within a blink of an eye, Monife teleports behind Chris trying to finish him off but little did she realize that he had anticipated that. In that moment, Chris lets go of his gun and takes off running with all his strength into the cold frosty forest before him. Stunned by the young man’s actions, Monife instantly transforms into a winged monster and chases him into the forest. Thinking that Chris was running for his life, Monife charges towards him with incredible speed trying to take his head off but before she could get, Chris had already laid a trap for her.
Seeing that Monife was closing in on him, Chris quickly brings out his dagger, turns around and throws it straight at her face. The dagger zoomed through the air and pierced the witch’s throat deep but that wasn’t all. After the dagger had sunk in deep into Monife’s wind pipe, her throat began to hurt so much that she fell to the ground and struggling and shouting with pain.

Monife ➡ MY THROAT!!.. It’s.. BURNING (screams painfully)… WHAT DID YOU DO TO ME?

Chris ➡ Nothing really but I’ll tell you why you’re in pain. The dagger buried in your throat was soaked in holy water. Humans may not have many but we have the means of dealing with your kind.

Monife ➡ MISERABLE HUMAN!!! I’ll be damned if I’m going to let myself be bested by a human! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!
.

Fueled with rage, Monife pulls the dagger from her throat and tosses it away. After that, she begins to whisper some strange magical words which began to take effect on her. In that moment, Monife’s body explodes to pieces and her scattered flesh began to mutate and transform into something else.
Chris who had been witnessing all of this began to step back as he saw the witch’s flesh merging and transforming into a different shape. Within a matter of seconds, Monife’s pile of flesh transformed into a small of flesh like zombies. Not only were these creatures made up of Monife’s flesh but they were also 2× bigger than Chris, they had no sense organ, all they had was their mouths which stretched to unbelievable length and their ragged teeth was made up of Monife’s shattered bones. Realizing that his chances against the witch before him was absolute zero, Chris retreats heading straight for his sniper. Seeing that ex assassin was trying to get hold of his weapon, Monife now divided in the body of her flesh monsters uses one of her creations and launches herself forward to intercept. Chris who had noticed that he was being followed ran with all his might until he reached his gun. Now in possession of his sniper, Chris quickly aims it at the flesh possessed Monife and pulls the trigger. Just like before, Monife was decimated the powerful shot, her flesh form scattered into tiny pieces all over the cold snow. Believing he now has the advantage over the witch before him, Chris aims his sniper carefully at the rest of Monife’s flesh form and just as he was about to pull the trigger, something unbelievable occured.
Unaware of the dark spell that Monife casted over herself, Chris gasps in shock as he notices the pieces of flesh around him transforming, taking different form. Unlike the first flesh monsters, these ones were bigger and more terrifying. Monife who had noticed the expression of her human prey mocked and laughed at his face intimidating with the doom that was about to befall him.

Monife ➡ (laughs) Your weapon is useless against me, worm! You’re a fool to think you can take me on. Now, I’m going tear you apart piece by piece until I litter your foul blood on this precious white snow. Let me ask you again, Any last words?
.

Just as Chris was about to give the very same answer he gave Monife moments ago, she suddenly attacks him with some of her flesh forms that were very close to him. Chris tries to dodge but Monife’s flesh form was too fast for him to counter. Within a blink of an eye, Chris was grabbed by two of the flesh monsters and as he struggles to break free, another flesh monster appeared and assaults him mercilessly. From punches to scratches, Chris was massacred and forced to bleed within seconds and as soon as the flesh monsters was finished with him, the young man was sent flesh with a devastating punch to the midsection.
Now flat on his back, Chris’s blood drips and stains the icy snow. The young man who was feeling pains all over tries to get back up but he couldn’t. Still not satisfied about the brutal beat down she gave Chris, Monife decided to make him suffer more. In that moment, one of the flesh monsters grabs hold of Chris’s throat and lifts him off the ground effortlessly and the young man gets strangled, the flesh monster pierces out a long pointy bone from it’s hand and begins to press it on his chest.

Monife ➡ Any last words human?
.

Chris ➡ (spits blood) Go to hell.
.

Monife ➡ (laughs viciously) Die!
..

Suddenly as Monife was about to impale Chris in mid-air, something snatches him away from her grasp. Shocked by what had happened, Monife looks around trying to find the young man but then she picks up a familiar scent.
.

Monife ➡ This scent!? Riley!? Is that you? Show yourself coward!
.

After ranting on and on for some minutes, Monife’s request was fulfilled. After teleporting Chris to a safer place, Akinbilege appears before Monife putting her in a state of unbelievable shock. Despite not introducing himself, the witch had already known who he is.
.

Monife ➡ You’re Riley son? But how? I don’t smell Christen on you.. So that means, that bastard planted his seed in another witch.
.

Akinbilege ➡ Monife right!? I’ve heard stories about you and I must say that I’m disappointed. You didn’t mean up to my expectations.
.

Monife ➡ You bastard!! I may have failed to kill your father but you will die by my hands.
.

Akinbilege ➡ Oya now, come at me with everything you have and I’ll gladly put you in your place. Bitch!
.

In that moment, Monife launches her flesh forms on Akinbilege trying to finish him off at once but just as she was about to get close, she senses a ridiculously powerful sinister aura around the young wizard making her to back off. One of her flesh forms that had gotten close to Akinbilege was grabbed by him and as soon as that happens, something horrifying occurs.
Here before her very eyes, Monife witnesses as a dark spiritual beings emerges from behind Akinbilege. These creatures who’s physique were similar to humans looked terrifying, their skin was black like the night sky and their eyes and mouths emitted bright lights.

Monife ➡ What in the devil’s name are these creatures and why are these noise they’re making?
.

Akinbilege ➡ These are damned souls that are condemned to roam the earth until the end of time and as for the noise, they’re suffering but they can’t do anything. Very soon, you’ll join their ranks.
.

Monife ➡ It doesn’t matter what you do, I’ll keep resurrecting.
.

Akinbilege ➡ We’ll see about that.
.

Realizing the seriousness in Akinbilege’s voice, Monife tries to dispel her magic and retreat but to her utmost surprise, the dark beings summoned for the former immediately closed in on all her flesh forms and began to tera-form her. As the dark beings pierced and bit her, Monife screamed out painfully struggling to escape but the more she struggled, the harder it became for her to move. Before long, the shape shifting witch gasped in horror as she saw herself transforming into the very beings that were bombarding her and out of desperation, Monife pulls her final trump card.

Monife ➡ I waited for a long time to get my revenge and I’m not going to let you end it all for me. I’m going to show you my true powers.
.

Yelling with fury and rage, Monife’s flesh form suddenly merge transforming into something else and within a blink of an eye, her body transforms into a huge terrifying serpent. Monife’s serpent form wasn’t just enormously big but her features was so terrifying that one look alone could kill an average human.
Apart from the huge size, Monife’s serpent form had tough scales that was nearly impenetrable and unlike the normal serpents, hers had four eyes and the venom in her fangs was no different from acid. Shortly after transforming into this menacing form, Monife roars angrily at Akinbilege who was unmoved or intimidated by her looks.

Monife ➡ (hisses) It’s over for you. Prepare to die.
.

Suddenly in that moment, Akin signals his dark spirits who charge towards Monife and bombarded her once more to finish what they started but unlike before their numbers didn’t count.
Using her great size and the venom in her fangs, Monife decimated the dark beings scattering them all over the snowy forest. Her clash with these beings made the forest rumble as if an earthquake was about to erupt. Seeing that Monife was too powerful for his summoned pets, Akin unleashes another dark spell which was blood magic. In that moment, he bites off the flesh of his right wrist like his blood flow and as soon as he does that, he begins to manipulate it.
After crushing the dark beings, Monife crawls her way towards Akin but before she could get close, the young wizard hit her with his blood magic. Using magic to bend or shape his blood to any form, Akin shapes his blood into a large sickle which he uses on Monife. Although she felt the pain, the shape changing witch wasn’t hurt, thanks to her impenetrable scales and as soon as Akin realized that, he leveled up his game. Casting aside his blood magic, Akin switches to dark alchemy and Monife who was unaware of the switch charged in recklessly trying to kill him.
In that moment as Monife was trying to gobble up Akin, he instantly teleports into the air and as soon as he does that something unexpected occurred. Realizing that the young wizard had teleported him into the air, Monife teleports as well trying not to give him any opportunity to strike.

Shocked by what had happened, Akin out-maneuvers the sly witch by creating a mirage of himself around her. Believing that Akin was trying to hide, Monife uses the venom in her fangs to smoke out the real one but to her surprise, it was all a trap. Now at the far end of Monife’s serpent tail, Akin quickly takes advantage of the situation by using his dark alchemy by turning her whole body into stone. The transition happened so fast that even the crooked witch didn’t know what had happened until it was too late. As soon as Monife’s petrified snake body had dropped on the soft snow, Akin teleports himself down and walks up to her.

Monife ➡ Go to hell. Nothing you do will change anything. The end is already here.

Akinbilege ➡ What are you talking about?

Monife ➡ You will find out soon enough and when that happens, I will have the last laugh.

Akinbilege ➡ No, you won’t. My face will be the last thing you ever see.

Placing his hands on Monife’s petrified snake body, Akin casts another dark alchemy reducing her to dust. After finishing off resurrected witch for good, Akinbilege teleports back to the father’s house and as soon as he gets there, he meets with Aunt Jezebel who had also arrived moments ago.

Jezebel ➡ Akin.
.

Akinbilege ➡ Aunty.
.

Jezebel ➡ What about Monife?
.

Akinbilege ➡ She’s gone.
.

Jezebel ➡ Good but its not yet over. This is just the begining.
.

Riley Jr ➡ Is something going on?
.

Jezebel ➡ Evlyn is in the Witches Realm. Your parents are there.
.

Morenike ➡ Jesus Christ! How bad is it?
.

Jezebel ➡ Not good. The Supreme witch is holding her off but she’s only delaying the inevitable.

Riley Jr ➡ What about Ebinouluwa?
.

Jezebel ➡ There’s no sign of her yet. Junior, Akin, you’re both needed.
.

Lionel ➡ Absolutely not. They’re not soldiers.
.

Jezebel ➡ No but they’re wizards. I’m not trying to make them fight, I want them to help out.
.

Lionel ➡ I don’t like this.
.

Jezebel ➡ If Evlyn prevails then this world is finished. She’s trying to crush humanity’s defense and if they fall, there’s nothing that can stop her so we need all hands on deck.

Akinbilege ➡ Relax Uncle, if things go sideways, we’ll just teleport right back.
.

Hadiza ➡ In that case, I’m coming with you.
.

Morenike ➡ But you’re hurt.
.

Hadiza ➡ I’m fine. Someone needs to keep an eye out for junior.

Helen ➡ We want to go.

Jezebel ➡ No, you two should stay with your father. That’s what your mother wants. Alright, you 3, let’s get going.

At long last, Evlyn’s war of conquest had began.

Chaos and mayhem had already befallen the Witches Realm by the time Christen and I got there. Rotimi who had tagged along with us flew ahead to check on Ebinouluwa whilst Christen and I branched over to her father’s house. Upon our arrival into the house, Christen’s father was busy packing some magical artifacts into an old chest. He immediately stopped what he was doing when he sensed our presence.

Eli ➡ Riley, Christen, you both shouldn’t be here.
.

Christen ➡ What are you doing with those? Those artifacts belongs to mom. They’re her collections.
.

Eli. ➡ I’m hiding them in a safe place. If Evlyn get her hands on these. It’s nit going to be pretty.
.

Riley ➡ Why aren’t you out there fighting? I’m sure you heard that your grand daughter is captured by the council.
.

Eli ➡ Listen to me. This fight can’t be won, not yet. Find Ebinouluwa and run. Run for your lives.
.

Riley ➡ We can’t run. Evlyn must be stopped.
.

Eli ➡ Haven’t you tried that already? She’s won every time. You feel that sinister magic out there, it’s insane. Escape while you still can’t. Evlyn won’t kill everyone, she’ll only kill those that oppose her.

Riley ➡ But..
.

Eli ➡ Listen to me boy! You’re no longer a human so stop caring about humanity. You have no ties with them except us. You have a much bigger responsibility to worry about and that’s your family. So be smart and do the right. You’ve already lost your parents, don’t lose your wife and kids.
.

As much as I hated hearing that, Eli was right. I can’t risk losing Christen and the kids and with the way things are, the smart to do was to Jakpa! It’s better to live to fight another day than to die losing everything.

Riley ➡ Alright sir. I’ll go get Ebinouluwa.
.

Christen ➡ I’m coming..
.

Riley ➡ No Christen, you’re staying and please don’t argue with me.
.

Christen ➡ But..
..

Eli ➡ Listen to your husband. You’re pregnant and using your powers to the max in this circumstances will be fatal to you and your unborn child.

Christen ➡ Alright, I’ll stay but promise me something Riley..

Riley ➡ What is it?

Christen ➡ Come back to me, please. Don’t die.

Considering the changes I’ve seen my wife go through over the last few months, there’s no way in hell I’m going to get myself killed. Christen’s worst fear is losing me even if it’s something that will happen some day but her reaction is what scares me. After Christen said that, I pulled her closer to me and gave her a small kiss before kneeling and kissing her baby bump. I could feel the tension around her so the best thing to do what to calm her down.

Riley ➡ I can’t promise but I swear I will come back to you and I’ll be with you to see the birth of our 3rd child. You don’t worry. Stay here and wait for me.

Christen ➡ I will.
.

Eli ➡ Are you both done?
.

Riley ➡ Yes.. Keep her safe, will you?

Eli ➡ I will. Do you still have the gloves I gave you?

Riley ➡ Always.

Eli ➡ Good. Carry on then. Remember, there isn’t much time.

Riley ➡ I know, see you later Christen.

Christen ➡ You too.

After that, I left the house and took off heading straight to the council hall. Eli was right about what he said about Evlyn’s magic. It was all the place and it was intense. As I rushed towards the council hall, the streets of the Witches Realm were empty, most witch and wizard had pulled back as soon as the chaos started, only a few remained fighting off the monsters that Evlyn had summoned. Just as I was about to get close to the council, I saw Oliver in front of me using his flame magic to the extreme. Unlike most spell casters using raw flame, my brother in-law was a bit creative. He manipulated the form of his flame by using magic to create thousands fire birds which he unleashed on Evlyn’s monsters.

Riley ➡ Oliver!

Oliver ➡ Riley! What are you doing here?
.

Riley ➡ Looking for Ebinouluwa. Nice spell.
.

Oliver ➡ Now’s not the time for flattery. This is one of my Supreme magic art forms.

Riley ➡ Supreme magic art?
.

Oliver ➡ Yes, every witch and wizard has theirs. Christen’s Supreme art is the nature’s fury.

Riley ➡ I know that one pretty well. So how far?

Oliver ➡ It’s not good. I can’t barely hold these monsters back.

Riley ➡ How can I help?

Suddenly as Oliver was about to give me a reply, a huge snake made of out flames appeared out of nowhere heading towards us. Fortunately for Oliver and I, we were able to teleport in time before we could get roasted. As soon as Oliver and I had moved to a safe distance, the culprit responsible for the sneaky attack showed him putting us in a state of utter shock.

Lucas ➡ (laughs) RILEY FEMI!! YOU BASTARD!!

Riley ➡ Lucas!? It can’t be.
.

Lucas ➡ Oh it is, I’ve waited a long time for this. You stole everything from me. You stole my life and most importantly, you stole Christen from me.

Riley ➡ Well, she’s my woman now so.. Deal with it.
.

Lucas ➡ Our issue isn’t over. I’m not just here for you, I’m here to take everything from you. You can have Christen because I have my eyes set on your lovely daughter. I can’t wait to taste those delicious plumb fruits of hers and the best part is I’m going to make you watch as I defile your precious flesh and blood. There’s no better revenge than this.

Riley ➡ Oliver..

Oliver ➡ What is it?
.

Riley ➡ Let me fight this bastard! He’s mine. I can’t let him get away with what he said.

Oliver ➡ He’s all yours (teleports)

Lucas ➡ (laughs) You bastard! Have you forgotten who I am? What makes you think you can fight me?
