Chapter 84 :- Prisoners of Apoti Esu

The basic universal truth about life is that nobody stays at the top forever. The cycle of life doesn’t just revolve around procreation and death but it also revolves around the universal balance between the weak and strong.
Ever since I came into Ebinoluwa’s household, I’ve seen things that defies comprehension or explanation. It took me a while to process and accept these things cause after all, this is my life and reality which i must live with whether i like it or not. Through out my years living amongst witches, I’ve noticed one distinctive feature in their way of life and that feature is the same as the laws of the jungle. The strong prey over the weak and it is only those that are strong that can survive.
Living as a member of Ebinoluwa’s Family for decades didn’t just give me a new family but it kept me alive and safe from the dangers of outside world both from human and supernatural beings alike. Despite being surrounded by powerful witches and wizards, there was no one I believed in more than Ebinoluwa. With her powers, I believed she was unstoppable and that the sky was her limit but never did it occur to me that there would be someone that would rival or be more stronger than her until now.
When Rotimi brought Ebinoluwa home 6days ago, I was shocked when I learnt that she was defeated and despite how displeased I was about what happened, Ebinoluwa felt more miserable to the extent that it took a toll on her. It was sad really, watching Ebinoluwa grieve over her own humiliating loss but what frightened me and everyone else was how she was reacting to it. From screams to yelling and refusal to see or talk to anyone made it unbearable for the rest of us, we all wanted to help her but she wouldn’t give us a chance. Eventually, we all had to let Ebinoluwa be hoping that she would heal and get over whatever that is bothering her but still doing nothing to help her made it even hard bear with.
Presently, here I was in the guest room staring at the ceiling trying hard to get some sleep. Ever since Ebinoluwa came back home, I haven’t been able to sleep well let alone eat like I used to. As I was busy staring at the ceiling, my mind went back to Rotimi whom was outside waiting for Ebinoluwa. His actions were silly but its admirable to see how he still cares for her despite what she’s still going through. Whilst I was deep in thought, Solomon appeared right next to me frightening the life out of me. Despite having the necklace in my possession, Solomon doesn’t always pops up like he does to Ebinoluwa and the rest of her family.

Morenike ➡ JESUS CHRIST!!

Solomon ➡ Last time I checked little girl, my name isn’t Jesus.

Morenike ➡ I’m sorry but you startled me.

Solomon ➡ You should get used to it now that I’m your guardian. By the ways, you shouldn’t worry about that spoiled witch brat.

Morenike ➡ How can you say that? Ebinoluwa is in a lot of pain right now. You should be ashamed of yourself.

Solomon ➡ Little girl, I’m a demon. Being emotional isn’t my thing and besides I have no feelings or care what Ebinoluwa is going through.

Morenike ➡ No wonder her grandmother trapped you inside this necklace. You must have been a terrible demon before your imprisonment.

Solomon ➡ Don’t you dare remind me of that cursed b-tch. Christen’s mother was no mere witch cause she’s by far the most cunning and deceptive witch I ever came across. It’s a surprise she never terrorized humans despite her malicious nature.

Morenike ➡ What was she like?

Solomon ➡ She’s the definition of a wolf in a sheep’s clothing. She looks innocent on the outside but on the inside, she’s poison.

Morenike ➡ I don’t believe you besides I was told that she has a kind and good nature.

Solomon ➡ Believe what you want little brat.
.

Morenike ➡ By the way, what happened between you two? How did she manage to imprison you?

Solomon ➡ Its a long story that I don’t want to talk about.

Morenike ➡ Abeg nau, tell me.

Solomon ➡ Before my imprisonment, I was a powerful demon and feared by all. I was so sure of my strength that I believed nobody could stop me.

Morenike ➡ Then what happened?
.

Solomon ➡ One night I plagued and possessed a small village near the Benin kingdom feeding on the life force of the humans there.

Morenike ➡ When was that?
.

Solomon ➡ 700yrs ago.
.

Morenike ➡ JESUS CHRIST!!! 700yrs!?
.

Solomon ➡ As I was saying, while I was busy feeding on those worms, Christen’s mother appeared and that night I lost my freedom.

Morenike ➡ You both fought?
.

Solomon ➡ No we didn’t. Demons are far more stronger than witches but we aren’t as deceptive and tricky as them. Christen’s mother didn’t have to fight me, she used her magic to bind me into this dammed necklace forever.

Morenike ➡ But how did she do it?
.

Solomon ➡ MUST I TELL YOU EVERYTHING??

Morenike ➡ I can’t help it. I’m a Mass-com student.

Solomon ➡ I don’t care. I should have stayed in the necklace. Talking to you was a waste of my time.

Morenike ➡ Wait! before you go, I would like you to tell me who Ebinoluwa is. Is she okay?

Solomon ➡ (chuckles) Okay? She’s more than okay.
.

Morenike ➡ What do you mean?
.

Solomon ➡ Go check her room and see for yourself.

Immediately I heard that, I got out of bed and rushed straight to Ebinoluwa’s room where I tried to force my way in but to my surprise, there was no barricade like the last couple of days. After I made my way into the room, I looked around and saw Ebinoluwa’s stuff gathered in one space but what captured my attention was the big drawing of the devil’s triangle I saw in the middle of the room. As l tried to raise an alarm, Solomon appeared and blocked out my voice preventing me from doing so.

Solomon ➡ Don’t you dare make a sound. (releases Morenike)

Morenike ➡ (gasps) What did you do that for? Where’s Ebinoluwa?
.

Solomon ➡ She’s in osogbo with that half demon having the best time of her life.
.

Morenike ➡ Best time of her….??? Wait o.. Are you saying that she and Rotimi are having an affair?
.

Solomon ➡ Sure, they’re still making love as we speak. I can hear the b-tch moaning. This surely brings back fond memories of the time her parents first had their own.

Morenike ➡ Wait, how do you know all this?
.

Solomon ➡ Why now? I’m linked to anyone who has made a bond with the necklace.

Morenike ➡ Why didn’t you tell me earlier?

Solomon ➡ Why should I?

Morenike ➡ You are SO UNBELIEVABLE!!! I can’t believe this is happening.

Solomon ➡ You better believe it, that half demon is eating your foster sister hard and good. You should see the pleasurable look on her face right now.

Morenike ➡ WILL YOU PLEASE GIVE THEM SOME PRIVACY? I don’t want to know the details of their affair.

Solomon ➡ So are you going to tell Christen and Riley?

Morenike ➡ You know I can’t. Father would be furious with Ebinoluwa.

Solomon ➡ Oh please. What goes around comes around. Riley wooed Christen and got between her legs countless time, he should very well expect that someone would get between his daughter’s legs.

Morenike ➡ You can’t possibly understand how sour this feels. Fathers are very overprotective of their daughters.

Solomon ➡ Oh please, spare me that nonsense talk. I’ll leave it you to tell your parents about this.

After that statement, Solomon disappeared leaving me alone in Ebinoluwa’s room wondering how to approach my foster parents with this news. Whilst I was busy trying to cook up some lie, my foster mother Christen instantly appeared behind me giving me a fright. I froze with fear as I saw the cold and suspicious look in her eyes as she stared at me. Lying to her would be unwise cause she can very well read my mind but before I could tell her anything, she raised her right hand ordering me to keep quiet.

Christen ➡ Riley is still asleep. I heard you talking to Solomon but I need you to tell me everything starting with where is Ebinoluwa. Do you understand?

Morenike ➡ Yes ma.

Christen ➡ Good. Start talking.

🐞- CHRISTEN -🐞

For the first time in days, my heart is now completely at ease after hearing what Morenike said about Ebinoluwa. To be honest, I was starting to think that she would never leave that bedroom room of hers but I’m glad that she’s left and letting off some steam. Despite how happy I was, I still was worried about how I was going to tell Riley about this. He would be not happy if he heard that his daughter left her room and then eloped with her boyfriend to have s-x with him. That would make him really furious and mad.
Hours later the next morning as myself, Riley, Junior and Morenike sat on the dinning table eating breakfast, I decided to burst the bubble and let Riley know what had happened.

Christen ➡ Honey.

Riley ➡ Yes love.

Christen ➡ I have something to tell you.

Christen ➡ It’s our daughter. She’s gone.

In that moment, Riley kept quiet, stopped eating and remained still staring at me. After a short while, he teleported straight to Ebinoluwa’s room to see for himself, I had to follow him there to make sure there was nothing that would lead him into finding out the truth about our daughter’s whereabouts.

Riley ➡ When did this happen Christen?

Christen ➡ Last night.
.

Riley ➡ And you didn’t tell me? How can you remain okay about this? What if she does something stupid?

Christen ➡ Don’t worry, Solomon assured me that she’s fine.

Riley ➡ Wait, Solomon knows about this. Did he tell you where our daughter went?

Christen ➡ Let’s just leave her alone.

Riley ➡ Christen..

Christen ➡ Yes?

Riley ➡ You’re hiding something.

Riley stood dumbfounded and dazed by what I said but in all honesty, I didn’t mean any of the words I said. It was only to stop him from suspecting me. Just as I was about to leave Ebinoluwa’s room, Riley quickly grabbed hold of me and pinned me on the door wrapping his hands around me. I felt an exciting tingle all over my body that began to make me feel aroused.

Christen ➡ Riley, what are you doing?

Riley ➡ Do you honestly think that I’d let you go like that?

Hearing junior’s statement made me bit my lip in anger. The little brat was trying to expose his sister but fortunately, Riley didn’t grasp the meaning behind his statement. Moments later, Riley and I went downstairs and met Ebinoluwa looking refreshed and somewhat excited. She definitely looks happily and from what I can see, Rotimi sure gave her a good time last night.

Christen ➡ Junior! Shut your mouth.

Riley ➡ Well whatever it is that you did, it’s certainly did good for you. You should do it more often.

Ebinoluwa ➡ Oh I plan to.

Christen ➡ Well Ebi, you’re just in bed for breakfast.

Ebinoluwa ➡ Oh I’m full. I just had breakfast. I just need to get to my room and sort myself out.

Riley ➡ By all means, go ahead. If you need anything just say so. Your mother and I are here for you.

Ebinoluwa ➡ Thanks dad.

Morenike ➡ Do you need any help?

Ebinoluwa ➡ No need Morenike.

Riley and I felt really happy to see Ebinoluwa back to her former self but our happy moment didn’t last very long. After Ebinoluwa left, Oliver and Rose appeared into the house bringing with them as usual unfortunate news.

Christen ➡ Oliver, Rose.. What brings you here early this morning?
.

Oliver ➡ Christen, we have a problem.

Riley ➡ Is it Evlyn again?
.

Rose ➡ No but we believe she’s behind it what happened last night.

Christen ➡ What happened?

The prison of Apoti Esu has been a strong penitentiary for convicted and very dangerous supernatural beings. Having stood for nearly a thousand years, the prison has never been breached which soon earned it a reputation for the unbreakable and inescapable prison. Words alone aren’t enough to justify this statement, the prison which is built in the dark rift devoid of any light is the definition of misery and suffering. Surrounded by complete and utter darkness, the prison is heavily guarded by spirits and protected by a strong and powerful magic that feeds in souls. Anyone who tries to exit the prison without the spirits gets drained of his soul and his/her body gets eaten by the dark void outside the prison. Apart from powerful defenses, the inner structure of the prison itself is a nightmare. With barely enough food and water, the prisoners fight each other in order to stay alive, some feed on the others to sustain themselves. Only the strong manage to stay alive. However like all things, the prison of Apoti Esu didn’t last long as it was invaded and devastated by Oba who had done it at the behest of Evlyn.

After being freed from their long captivity, the prisoners of Apoti Esu scattered around with each of them heading out to their respectively locations. With the prisoners now on the loose, chaos and mayhem befell the humans who became their victims. No place was safe for anyone to hide from these monsters who were eager to unleash their fury and satisfy their bloodlust. For a moment, the prisoners thought they were free but little did they realize that their freedom came with a price and that price was loyalty and servitude to Evlyn.
Shortly after being released, all of the prisoners of Apoti Esu mysteriously found themselves in Evlyn’s fortress. Unknown to the prisoners, Evlyn has casted a summoning spell on all of them before releasing them. As the prisoners stand in the fortress wondering where they are, Evlyn appears before them making her intentions known to them all.

Evlyn ➡ Hello Prisoners, I’m sure you’re all wondering why you’re here at the same time?
.

Ghoul ➡ A witch!? I should have known a b-tch like you was behind this. Let me tell you that I will not be going back to that prison.
.

Angered by the ghoul’s words, Evlyn’s became mean and vicious. She then focuses her gaze on the ghoul’s face staring into his eyes. Unknown to the other prisoners, Evlyn had taken control of the ghoul’s body using her sight and soon as she had done that, she makes him rips his head off without hesitation. After that, Evlyn then unleashes her magic in the fortress forcing every one of the prisoners to kneel before her. Feeling and experiencing the power of Evlyn first hand, the prisoners soon realized that she’s not to messed with.

Evlyn ➡ It seems to me like you dogs have no manners or gratitude. Did you honestly think that your freedom was without a price? Maybe I should just get rid of you all once and for all.
.

In that moment, one of the prisoners who’s known to be very notorious amongst his mates quickly speaks up to prevent being crushed to death by the dark witch.

Mayé ➡ Wait.. On behalf of everyone, I apologize for the ghoul’s rudeness. It’s just that we’ve been in captivity for centuries. Most of us have already lost our minds during that time.
.

Evlyn ➡ I don’t need your apology dog. What I want is your loyalty and servitude and if I can’t have that, you’re all going to die.
.

Mayé ➡ Please.. There must be a reason you freed us and I’m sure we can be of service to you. We’re ready to do anything you want.
.

Evlyn ➡ Good dog. That’s what I like to here. What’s your name?

Mayé ➡ Mayé the evil dead .
.

Evlyn ➡ What can you do for me, Mayé?

Mayé ➡ As a wizard, my magic allows transforms living beings into mindless dead creatures. I can even control the dead.
