After listening to Oliver’s report about the prisoners of Apoti Esu, Christen’s lovely face soon clouds with discomfort and worries. Riley who had noticed his wife’s sudden change of mood asks her what was wrong but all he got was silence.

Riley ➡ Christen, talk to me. What’s going on? Christen.

Rose ➡ You haven’t heard about Apoti Esu?

Riley ➡ Not really no.
.

Oliver ➡ Apoti Esu is a prison for dangerous supernatural beings. Ever since was built 900yrs ago, it has never been breached or broken into until now.

Riley ➡ How many of the prisoners escaped?

Oliver ➡ All.
.

Riley ➡ How dangerous are these prisoners?

Oliver ➡ Let’s just say that they share the same sadist philosophy with Evlyn and since she’s behind this prison break. They’re bound to follow her.

Riley ➡ Well, we can stop them right?
.

Rose ➡ (laughs) See this one. This prisoners are no different from rapid animals. They’re savage and merciless plus they have nothing to lose.

Riley ➡ We should at least do something before they hurt people.
.

Rose ➡ That’s none of my concern. I have my own issues to worry about.
.

Christen ➡ Oh please sis. Stop pretending like this doesn’t bother you. You of all people should be worried about this.

Riley ➡ Worried about what?

Christen ➡ There’s a prisoner in Apoti Esu that had a steady relationship with Rose. He was her very first love and very same person that influenced her to be the kind of witch she is today.

Riley ➡ Hold on, I thought you said your mother’s death turned her to be a merciless killer? Sorry Rose, no offense.

Rose ➡ None taken.

Christen ➡ Yes, but with nobody around to console her, Mayé stepped in and took advantage of the situation. He corrupted her completely. Mother’s death was just the trigger he needed to do so.

Riley ➡ So this prisoner, what’s his name?

Oliver ➡ The prisoner’s name is Mayé. He is powerful wizard and a sadist. His magic’s so dark and horrible that it defies that laws of nature.

Riley ➡ Oh please.. We’ve been down this road before, whoever he is, he can be dealt with.

Christen ➡ Honey, I don’t think you understand how bad this is. Mayé isn’t some black wizard, he is a living nightmare.

Riley ➡ Come on Christen, you very well know that Evlyn is our living nightmare. Have you all forgotten what she did?
.

Christen ➡ No I haven’t and I know what Evlyn is capable of but Mayé isn’t some ordinary wizard that you’d look over or ignore. Do you know what the humans used to call him 350yrs ago ? Mayé the evil dead and that name wasn’t given to him like that for no reason. Mayé’s magic allows him to control the dead.

Riley ➡ So?

Oliver ➡ That’s not all he can do. Mayé’s magic is a virus to the very essence of life. He can affect some living beings with his magic and transform them into dead. The more deaths occurs, the stronger his magic becomes.

Riley ➡ Jesus!

Christen ➡ That b-stard must be killed before Evlyn utilizes his magic to her advantage. He must be stopped.
.

Riley ➡ If he’s so powerful, how do we stop him? Besides who locked him up in the first place?
.

Rose ➡ I did.
.

Riley ➡ YOU? but why? Weren’t you guys…
.

Rose ➡ Abeg spare me of that romantic stupidity. Mayé may have made me to be what I am but he’s not the master of me. Mayé was interesting at first but I got fed up and tired of him so I got rid of him. You should have seen the look on his face when I stabbed him in the back. I’ve never laughed so hard in my life.

Riley ➡ Sometimes I forget that some of you witches are just cold and heartless. Tell me, should I be worried about Lionel?
.

Rose ➡ Hmm, I can’t say but who knows? (Smiles viciously)

Riley ➡ Don’t even think about hurting my brother. He’s been through a lot.

Rose ➡ Your brother? Riley, Lionel ceased to be your brother since the day he and I got married. He’s mine now and I can do whatever I please with him.

Riley ➡ My brother isn’t your property. He’s your husband and by your marriage vows…..

Rose ➡ (laughs) Marriage vows? Oh please. Spare me that nonsense. I don’t care about any marriage vows. I’m a witch and your human principles or laws matters less to me . We witches do things based on our desires and personal needs.
.

Riley ➡ This is an outrage. Marriage is about sacrifice and being a normal housewife is a small price to pay. How hard can it be for you?
.

Rose ➡ (laughs) Sacrifice ke?…. Listen worm, if your brother wanted a normal housewife, he should have married a human. Wake up Riley, did you think your life would be normal when you married Christen? You went ahead to woo her, make love to her, impregnate her and then make her your wife. Did you ever think that there would be no consequences? I don’t need to remind you what you went through during these 30yrs.
Lionel married me so he should be prepared to face whatever comes his way. You think your normal human women are complicated, we witches are far more crazier and wild.

Christen ➡ Can we please focus? This isn’t the time to be arguing about marital affairs. Rose, you betrayed Mayé and I’m pretty sure he’s going to take his revenge on you.

Rose ➡ He can try. He’s no match for me.

Christen ➡ Maybe but what about your husband and children? In case you haven’t forgotten, you are vulnerable now that you have a family, you have a lot to lose.

Rose ➡ QUIET!! let me worry about Mayé. He’s my problem to deal with.

Riley ➡ You can’t do this alone.
.

Rose ➡ I don’t need your help, worm.
.

Riley ➡ I don’t care. Lionel is my brother and as his brother I’ve got to have his back.
.

Rose ➡ Don’t provoke me worm. Mayé is bound to come after me and I want him to be focused just on me. Your interference might put you as Mayé’s target and believe me, you’re no match for him. This is my mess and I’m going to clean it up. Don’t you dare interfere, Understand?

Christen ➡ She’s right honey. Just let her handle this.
.

Riley ➡ Alright, fine but it would be better if your kids were out of the way at least.

Oliver ➡ Riley’s right. Helen and Sara should be brought here. That b-stard might show up any time soon.

Christen ➡ I agree. I wonder where or what that b-stard is up to next?

🦂 MAYÉ 🦂

Sitting in the dark cold walls of Apoti Esu for 200yrs has been nothing but hell but going through that awful experience is nothing compared to the hurtful feeling of betrayal weighing in my heart all these years. As the centuries passed, I looked forward to the day that I would be free of my imprisonment so that I could serve those who betrayed me with the taste of their own medicine. For years, I waited and waited thinking of the best way to exact my revenge on the one that betrayed me and just when I was about to give up hope of ever getting out of the hellish confinement, the unexpected occurred.
Nothing felt more good to me by having my freedom back again, my body and heart surged with immense joy that it felt like I was draining a life force and having sex at the same time. After being set from Apoti Esu, I teleported back to Ibadan only to see that the place I once knew had changed completely. For the first time in my life, I was speechless and utterly confused, the Ibadan I once knew was no longer around, everything had changed and it was like I was in a different place. I never thought that a lot could change in 200yrs but still, I wasn’t going to let that stop me from exploiting this new Ibadan. Shortly after appearing at Ibadan, I went around the city in the cover of darkness to learn more about what I had missed and from what I learnt and saw, the humans had advanced greatly in their way of life but there’s something that still hasn’t changed in them and that’s their inferiority and fear of the unknown.
After scouting around the city , I decided to find some helpless humans to feed on. Eating worms and rotten corpses for 200yrs has made me forget what’s like to have a proper meal. Finding the humans to feed on wasn’t that hard, the humans of this era were less vigilant and carefree than the ones in my time, I managed to secure 6 humans to feed on and their life-force surely felt good and to top it all, I raped one of the female victims whilst I drained her.
However, my fun didn’t last that long cause afterwards I was mysteriously teleported into a fortress where I met the one who broke me and my fellow inmates out of Apoti Esu.

At first,. I was disappointed when I saw that I was freed by a witch but after seeing what she did to one of my fellow inmates, my views about her changed . Her magic aura alone was enough to let me know that she’s out of everyone’s league. After display her vicious side, the witch made her intentions known to all of us and as it turns out we were all on the same page. Terrorizing the humans was one thing but conquering the world was just a whole new level but despite how happy I was to be onboard this world conquest, my taste for revenge was still itching me so I decided to take care of that first before anything else.
Presently, here I was with Iyunloye talking about what had happened while I was away. Iyunloye and I go way back and we have a strong bond. As we were busy talking, our conversation shifted towards the traitor that stabbed me in the back and made me lose 200yrs of my life.

Mayé ➡ So Iyunloye, how’s Rose?

Iyunloye ➡ Which Rose?
.

Mayé ➡ Don’t play dumb with me. You know who I’m talking about.
.

Iyunloye ➡ Oh, you mean your very own creation that turned on you?….. Well, she’s doing great. Her life has been very fruitful and blessed.

Mayé ➡ (frowning) I see. Tell me more.
.

Iyunloye ➡ Well, after you were gone, Rose made a name for herself which she did. She became a symbol of fear, her name made everyone shiver. She also became a council member.

Mayé ➡ A COUNCIL MEMBER?

Iyunloye ➡ Shocking isn’t it? But don’t let that fool you, she hasn’t changed from what she is until…

Mayé ➡ Until what?
.

Iyunloye ➡ Mayé…. Alot has changed.
.

Mayé ➡ I know.. I’ve seen that already.

Iyunloye ➡ I’m not talking about the humans, I’m talking about us supernatural beings. The line has been crossed and it is not something that we can come back from.

Mayé ➡ What is it?

Iyunloye ➡ You remember Rose’s sister, Christen?

Mayé ➡ AH Christen.. Of course I remember her. I’m sure she’s has grown into an attractive witch now.

Iyunloye ➡ Well that attractive witch married a human and procreated.

Iyunloye ➡ Yes, Rose also married a human but nobody knows about this except for her family. It’s hard to believe that witch who once terrorized humans is now married to one, spreading her legs every night to have sex and make babies.

Mayé ➡ (shouts angrily) ARRGGGHH!!! SHUT UP.. SHUT UP!

Rage quickly consumed me in that moment. I was so mad that I felt like I was going to explode. To think that Rose who betrayed me after everything I’ve done for her was enjoying her life and to make things even worse she was sharing it with a measly pathetic human. A mere human!

Iyunloye ➡ Lionel. Quite a charming man even though age is catching up to him.

Mayé ➡ How long has he been together with Rose?

Iyunloye ➡ 11 years.

Iyunloye ➡ (chuckles) Come on Mayé.. You should know better . Rose has 2 kids, all girls. I won’t be surprised if she isn’t pregnant.

Iyunloye ➡ Hurting me with your foul mouth will only make me despise you even more. Better watch yourself.

Iyunloye ➡ I was hoping you’d feel more miserable. I warned you centuries ago that Rose wasn’t the one for you but you didn’t listen. You were blinded by her beauty and you thought you could dominate her. Now look at what happened, she betrayed you and left you to rot and to make it even worse, a human is busy enjoying the fruits of your hard work. If you had been with me none of this would have happened.

Mayé ➡ ENOUGH!!!, I’m going to put an end to this tonight. I’ve suffered for too long but no more. I will make Rose suffer, everything she’s ever loved, I will take it away from her. Now tell me Iyunloye, where does Rose live?

I sure miss the good old days back when I was free from any kind of responsibilities. Back in the day, I could do whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted but unfortunately nothing lasts forever. However despite missing my old life, I could never exchange it for the one I have now. This new life of mine may be a little bit boring but it’s full of blessings. Looking back at the horrible things I’ve done years ago, many would say that I don’t deserve the life I have now but come to think of it, who would have thought that a witch of my reputation would be blessed a family? Honestly, I never visioned myself having one cause I wanted to live wildly and dangerously but now that things have changed, I’m glad that it did.
After working hard all day finding leads about the prisoners of Apoti Esu and Evlyn, I came back home late in the evening feeling exhausted and hungry, I would have feed on a human but my palate was in need of a different taste. Immediately I entered the house, I noticed Lionel sitting on the couch with the girls sleeping on his thighs. Seeing all three of them made my heart softened, who would have that such a small sight can be so pleasing to watch. Lionel who noticed my presence at moment, quietly laid the girls on the couch and welcome me with a tight squeeze around my waist and a kiss.

Lionel ➡ Kaabo ile oyin…. Bawo ni ojo re?…. (Welcome home honey, how’s your day?)

Rose ➡ O dara…. (It was okay)
.

Lionel ➡ You seem pretty tired..

Rose ➡ And hungry.

Lionel ➡ Well, I’ve made some Eba and cow meat stew for you. It’s still warm.

Lionel ➡ It is. Since the girls are asleep. Why don’t we tango afterwards?

In that moment, as Lionel headed to the kitchen, I sat on the couch and removed my shoes and unbuttoned my clothes but just as I was about to stretch myself for relief, I felt an ominous presence outside the house and the shocking thing is that it was familiar. Shortly after that, I grabbed my daughters and sank them into the shadows then I parked my hair and teleported outside to see who it was.
For a witch such as myself, I hardly get shocked or surprised by anything but immediately I got outside, I was so shocked by what I saw that I was left speechless. Standing a few meters away from me was my old flame, Mayé. He looked very angry and somewhat skinny from what he used to be and judging from the look on his face, I realized he must have heard a lot about me.

Rose ➡ Well, well, well.. Do my eyes deceive me? Mayé.. Long time no see.
.

Mayé ➡ Àgbèrè ọ̀dàlẹ̀…. Mo ti duro fun igba pipẹ fun akoko yii…… (Traitorous whöre… I’ve waited a long time for this moment)

Rose ➡ (laughs) Really?….. Kini o gba ọ pẹ to bẹ?… (What took you so long?)

Mayé ➡ After all I’ve done for you, you stabbed me in the back.. Me? Mayé… TAAAH.

Rose ➡ Quiet dog, my kids are asleep.
