A Glimpse Of Her (episode 2)
Do you know that it takes just one encounter with someone special to change your whole life forever?. All of a sudden, you just find yourself dreaming, fantasizing and thinking about this person like you have never done for another. Slowly, you begin to forget what your life used to look or feel like without them because you are now consumed with their thoughts. Love can happen to anyone at anytime and even the toughest of hearts can’t resist the force and wave of ‘Love’ when it comes knocking. Who would have thought that a hærd guy like Michael who didn’t believe in love will be in Tiffany’s school as early as 8am just to see her again. A lady that wasn’t even fully aware of his existence was the same woman the almighty footballer ‘Michael aka Milano’ was going gaga for. Love can humble just anyone and it was very clear that Michael wasn’t in the mercy books.
As Tiffany took her last steps into the school premises, she had no idea that the gentleman whom she bumped into about a week ago was in a car parked few blocks away from her. If only she was on social media to see the chaos that was going on there in search for her, I believe she would have been dead shocked. If only she knew that she had captured the heart of a successful footballer such as Milano that initially didn’t believe in love. If only she just knew!
Immediately Tiffany vanished from Michael’s sight, he laid back on his car seat and was lost in thoughts. Despite Michael’s many years experience of wooing women, for the first time ever in his life, he was speechless and ice cold. There was just something about Tiffany that dissembles and makes him extremely vulnerable. It seemed as though he was constantly hypnotised by her angelic charm, softness and charisma. “What manner of women is this?” He thought to himself but never got an answer. After about 20 minutes of sitting in the car lost in thoughts, he finally drove off.
Despite the strong desire in Michael to make a move and go talk to Tiffany that day, he didn’t have the willpower to actually do so. However, it wasn’t a failed mission to him since he got to know where she worked as a teacher after all. He decided to go home that day and come back fully prepared and ready some other time, but what he failed to realize was that his heart wasn’t in agreement with that decision because it yearned dearly to see her every single minute of the day.
All through that day in school, none of the other teachers broke the news to Tiffany that she was trending on social. It’s quite apparent that they also weren’t active on social media hence the reason they were still in the dark. Due to that, everyone carried on with that day’s activities as normal.
While Tiffany was back in school teaching her lovely students as usual, Michael was home thinking about her. He kept reminiscing on every single details he saw in her earlier that day. Her smile, her outfit, her act of kindness towards the beggar at the school gate, her walking steps, just everything!
It was no doubt that Michael had fallen deeply in love with Tiffany and was bent of doing whatever it would take to be her man. Those passed 24 hours till the next day were probably one of the hærdest hours of his life. Unable to hold back for even another second, he drove down to the school the next day by 8am and parked few blocks away again. He sat in his car waiting for Tiffany to arrive and just like the previous day, she walked passed his car and this time around, he wasn’t going to sit back and watch her vanish from his sight. He was going to make a move regardless of whatever fear he was feeling within.
“Hi Tiffany, Goodmorning” Michael greeted immediately he got down from his car. The fact that he knew her name got her shocked as she stared into his face trying to recall where she might know him from. “Sorry, have we met before?” Tiffany curiously asked as she stood still. Despite everything being a long story, Michael was ready to make the story short. “I know you probably can’t remember me but I was the guy you bumped into at the sports event last week. The person whose phone fell on the floor after one of your students collided into me” he explained.
Immediately Michael was done narrating how they met, Tiffany instantly remembered him and smiled. “Oh yes it’s you, Goodmorning. Why are you here if I may ask?” She calmly inquired and it was at this junction that Michael became speechless and numb again.
While Tiffany was expecting some kind of explanation from Michael, none was forth coming. On seeing that he was kinda tensed, she quickly apologized for being too direct with her question. “I’m sorry if I took you off guard with my question, it’s just that I’m curious to know why I have bumped into you again this wonderful morning” she said. It was at that moment he regain himself and managed to speak.
“Please don’t be sorry, you have all the right to know why you are seeing this face again. The truth is that I have been looking for you since we met at the stadium, I was able to get this school address as the place you work and that’s why I came a bit early so I could meet you before you go in. There’s so much I want to tell you but don’t think this is the right place or time. If you may, I would love to take you out for dinner tonight so we can talk better. Here’s my card, just text me the location of wherever you want us to meet and I’ll be there waiting for you. I guess it’s time to let you go and attend to work. Have a great day and I truly hope you text me” he calmly said. Shortly afterwards, he walked back into his car and drove off.
As Tiffany took each step into the school premises, she stared at Michael’s card with a faint smile on her face. There was just too many mixed feelings within but the most significant of all were the tiny butterflies dancing in,side her tummy. She didn’t want to push it or get too excited too soon but she was undeniably happy.
Later that day, after too many deliberations and thoughts, Tiffany decided to see Michael that evening. At about 6pm in the evening, she texted her current location to him and asked him to meet her up there. It wasn’t a restaurant nor a cafeteria but rather a beach where she usually comes to every now and then to relax and enjoy nature. As Michael drove to the beach that evening, he prayed that the night would go well as he couldn’t stand the thought of not winning her heart or at least make good progress. Fingers crossed as the night began to unfold!
When Michael arrived, he walked passed the bunch of people having fun at the beach to get to Tiffany who was seated on a huge rock close to the shore. “Hey there!” He said when he got to where she sat. When she saw him, she smiled faintly and shifted for him to sit too. “I see you love the beach, I won’t have guessed this place to be our first date venue” Michael playfully said and Tiffany smiled even more. “I come here often to relax so it’s safe to call this beach my sanctuary. Besides, I wasn’t hungry so why meet up at a restaurant” she replied with a faint smile on her face.
So far so good, the atmosphere was highly positive and calming which paved way for more conversations. “Tell me more about you, I would love to know you more than I already do” Michael said, “so what do you already know about me?” Tiffany asked and he smiled; “Well, for starters, I know you are an amazing human with a beautiful heart, vibes and spirit. There’s just something about you that I can’t explain. It is so positive and calming. As someone who meet and intEr×¢t with a lot of people on a daily basis, I can tell a good person when I see one”. He said.
Those words from Michael genuinely made Tiffany happy even though she have heard them over and over again from her students, parents and other people that knew her. She isn’t the type that likes praises but for some reason, Michael’s own felt good to her ears. Without an iota of doubt, she could feel the genuineness of his words and honesty in his eyes.
As the atmosphere entered another level, Michael felt it wouldn’t be a bad idea to give Tiffany a glimpse of his intentions for her. He knew it will be foolish and too soon to ask her out but that didn’t mean he won’t give her hints that he liked her at least.
Just as Michael was about to take the conversation to another level, a guy walked into their midst from nowhere and gave Tiffany a warm hug and to Michael’s greatest surprise, she happily hugged him back!.
