Jumping into conclusion is one of the fastest ways to kill a promising relationsh¡p with someone you love. It’s always advisable to get firsthand information directly from the person rather than jump into unverified conclusions. It’s no mystery that Michael felt deafeated when the strange guy walked up to Tiffany and gave her a hug. Without even waiting for any explanation, he had already concluded that the strange guy was her boyfriend, otherwise, what would have given him such audacity to hug her; worst still, she hugged him back. There were over a thousand thoughts running through Michael’s mind at that moment as he watched another man hug a woman he was crazily in love with. The fact that they were both smiling made matters worst. Poor Michael!
After about two minutes of intense hugging, they finally separated their arms from each other. “Oh My God! I have missed you Jake. Where on earth have you been?” Tiffany asked in excitement and Jake began to smile. “I miss you too dear, I travelled few months ago and just returned last week. I wanted to come visit you in school but my schedule has been super tight. I was back there chilling with some friends when I sighted you sitting on this your favorite s₱0t. I thought my eyes were playing with me but as I walked closer, I realized it was truly you so I had to come say ‘Hi’. You look different and beautifu as always” he happily said and she began to blush.
While all these lovey dovey conversation were ongoing between both friends, the almighty ‘Michael’ was quietly seated feeling miserable. He needed no seer to tell him that Jake had feelings for Tiffany more than she knew of. Being a guy too, Michael could easily detect the subtle presence of deeply rooted feelings in every word Jake said to her. The fact that another man was indirectly flirting with a woman he was madly in love with made him feel deafeated and helpless. Also, the fact that Michael hadn’t communicated his feelings to Tiffany yet, made him feel insecure at the thought of another man whisking her away from him. This was torture!
Shortly after the two lost but found friends were done exchanging pleasantries, that was when Tiffany came back to her conciousness and instantly remembered that Michael was there with her. She kinda felt bad thinking she had disrespected her date even though she hadn’t done anything wrong. Without wasting even a second, she introduced the two guys to each other.
“Please pardon my manners, Michael meet my longtime friend Jake, we went to the same university together. Jake meet Michael, he’s my friend too” Tiffany said and it was at this junction that the two gentlemen shook hands for the first time. “Nice meeting you” Michael said with less enthusiasm. Immediately he said that, Jake looked at him intensely, trying to recognize where he knew that face from. There and then, it finally dawned on Jake with whom he was standing right in front of. Unable to hold back the excitement within, he shockingly s¢ræmed “Milano?”.
The excitement on Jake’s face when it dawned on him that he just shook hands with a popular and highly successful footballer was truly indescribable. Jake was super happy to the extent that he couldn’t pretend nor hold back his happiness. Without hesitating, he asked for a selfie and it was granted by Michael with immediate effect. Once again, they shook hands and exchanged pleasantries before Jake left.
While all these was happening, Tiffany was shocked and dumbfounded. She just sat there quietly with so many unanswered questions running through her mind. The manner at which Jake behaved around Michael made her suspect that he was some kind of celebrity or something more. She was shocked to say the least and was ready to get some answers to the numerous questions in her mind.
Immediately Jake left, Tiffany quietly looked into Michael’s eyes to find some answers but couldn’t get any. Without hesitating, she spoke up. “Can you please tell me who you are for real? Jake called you Milano? Who is that and also why he was so excited to see you to the extent that he asked for a selfie. Please tell me what’s going on because I’m really confused” she curiously said.
It was at that moment that Michael knew he had to come forward with the truth of who he really was. He didn’t want to reveal his true identity to Tiffany at first because he was afraid it would tamper with the genuine way she saw or intEr×¢ted with him. Sadly, he had to come forward with the truth as it will be unwise to ignore her questions or lie to her. “Tiffany, I came here tonight to tell you a lot of things but sadly, I haven’t been able to do any of that yet. I know you would probably be wondering who I am and what I truly want from you. Well, I believe it is time for me to answer all those questions of yours. Firstly, my name is Michael but my career name is Milano. I’m a footballer and have played for so many clubs all over the world since I began my career. I am really successful and popular hence the reason your friend recognized me. I was going to tell you this and also the fact I’m deeply attracted to you before today was over so I’m glad it’s out already” he calmly said.
Immediately Michael was done talking, Tiffany ch¡pped in. “What did you just say?” She asked as she looked into his eyes. “I am a footballer?” He replied, “No not that, the thing you said last” she inquired and he replied “I am attracted to you”. Still shocked, she continued to probe him. “Why?” She curiously asked trying to know the reason he chose her out of so many other women and the reply was endless. “There’s nothing I can truly say is the reason I’m here with you tonight under this cold just to see your lovely face and talk to you. I’m shocked and confused myself as to how I have fallen this deeply for a woman I barely know. Tiffany, I don’t know what you have done to me but all I can say for sure is that I like whatever you are doing to me. There’s just this peace, calmness and certainty I get whenever I’m around you. I can’t explain it but I know I have never felt that way around anyone else. I really like you and want a relationsh¡p with you but I’m willing to wait as long as it will take for you to fall in love with me too. Take your time, no pressure” he said.
Oh My! At that moment it just felt as though cold water was poured on Tiffany and she began to silver. Words suddenly became heavy as she processed all Michael had just said to her. Everything was kinda too much for her to handle at once so she stood up in a bid to leave. “I have to go now, I’m so sorry” she said and walked away.
As Tiffany took each step away from Michael, it felt as though his heart was getting pierced with a knife. There are no words suitable enough to decide the shattered state of his heart at that moment. That was the first time in his life he experienced the true meaning of rejection. He felt dejected, unwanted and helpless. Unable to move due to the intense shock and shattered state of his heart, he sat there for a little while in deep thoughts before leaving too.
Back home, neither Tiffany nor Michael could sleep well. They kept tossing on the bed due to the numerous thoughts on their mind. That night was probably one of the worst nights of their lives. Tiffany felt really bad for walking away from Michael at the beach but who could blame her?. She wasn’t used to those many feelings and emotions so it kinda took her by surprise. She wanted to call him and apologize that night but decided to wait till the next day.
Early the next morning, Tiffany said her prayers before proceeding to call Michael. When he picked up, she was so relieved and went straight to apologizing. “Hi Michael, I’m so sorry for what happened last night. I know I should have handled everything better but it’s just that I was overwhelmed by everything you said. I’m not really used to the way I felt last night and still feeling right now. I want to make it up to you if that will make you forgive me” she calmy said.
To be honest, that apology meant a lot to Michael as he was worried all night thinking that he might never get the chance to win her love due to something he might have said. It was a thing of relief to know that she was willing to see him again. Tiffany’s apology was instantly accepted and this made her happy. “So how can I make it up to you?” She asked, “You don’t have to make anything up me, I feel at fault too. However, why not let me take you out again. This time around, I will choose the place and you just show up. How about that?” He asked and she happily agreed. “I’ll pick you up after school today so get ready” he said before they ended the call.
After that call, Tiffany couldn’t stop smiling and blushing. She felt really relived to know that Michael had forgiven her. The thought of them going on another date that day made her happy though she tried not to show it too much. In regards to that, she took extra clothes to work so she could change into another outfit after working hours.
On the way to school that day, Tiffany googled the name ‘Milano’ and Michael popped up. As she scrolled few news articles about him, that was when she got an idea of how big he truly was. To be honest, she felt she didn’t deserve such a man because she clearly wasn’t in his class or social status. “Why me?” She kept asking herself but couldn’t get any suitable explanation as to why such a man wanted her.
All through that day in school, Tiffany could hærdly concentrate. She kept grinning from ear to ear as she thought of Michael. Despite still feeling a bit insecure because she wasn’t in his level, she tried to surpass every insecurity of hers with positive thoughts. Just as agreed, Michael was at the school by 3pm to pick her up. “Hi, Goodafternoon” Tiffany greeted as she entered in,side the car, “Goodafternoon, how are you?” He asked with a smile on his face and she replied “Fine”. Immediately they were done exchanging greetings, he drove off to their destination.
After a short drive, they arrived at a helicopter ride service. Tiffany has never been in a helicopter before so she was truly excited to go on a helicopter ride for the first time ever. Michael had already arranged for an hour ride in the sky so they could see the beauty of nature since Tiffany loved being around nature. The gesture was so thoughtful and made her smile uncontrollably. “Awwwn, thank you” she said as they entered the helicopter. Before they knew it, they were up in the sky.
As the helicopter drove round the city, they looked out through the window to see the beauty of the city from above. It was a magical experience for Tiffany as she watched the beautiful clouds at a closer range. After around 30 minutes later, the helicopter drove pass a location and Michael told Tiffany to look downwards. Curious to see what he wanted to show her, she looked downwards and was shocked when she saw a boldly written inscription on a sandy area around a private beach that read ‘Tiffany Please Be Mine’.
Immediately she saw that, her heart raced. No man has ever done a thing like that for her ever. All she found herself doing at that moment was shedding tears and s¢ræming “Oh My God!”.
