That word (Fiance) echoed on his ear,

He sounded surprisingly.

He laughed,it really sounds funny to him because he knows that Rose don’t have any man in her life talk more of fiance.

Ken looked at him with the expression of confusion wondering why all the laughs.

He laughed again and said,
“Like seriously fiance! You gonna be kidding me,I know Rose don’t have any man in her life talk more of fiance so Mr you don’t know what you are talking about”

“Frank let me make it clear to you Ken here is my fiance so stop wasting your precious time to have me in your life,back off it won’t work”
She said to him with so much seriousness.

“This is unbelievable Rose! When did you got a boyfriend?
He asked being confused.

“That’s none of your business,Frank your visit is not needed please turn around and leave”
She said.

“Rose you can’t do this to me nah,you know I love you so much and I have been asking you out for almost a year now why did you have to choose him over me,why nah? am I not man enough or am I not good looking? why did you do this to me eeeeh?
He sounded.

“Frank I have told you times without number that I don’t love you and we can’t be together,you are not the type of man I want in my life,leave my house and never come back to this house again”
She shouted.

“And you called this here your idea man? How are you sure that he even loves you or he is after your money?
He sounded.

“Frank use the gate I can’t stand your presence anymore”

She shouted to his hearing.

She gave a soundness sigh and walked in while Ken stood there watching him exiting from the gate.

“See the kind of man that is coming into her life but she is rejecting him,the guy even said he has been asking her out for a year now,who knows what could her reason for not accepting this guy?

“I was only assuming that you meant hate him as why you never give him a chance”

“I did not hate him rather I don’t love him and I don’t see the type of man I need in him”
She sounded.

“Okay ooo! Mother told me that at this your early stage of pregnancy that your system will no longer be adapting some food and I want to prepare porridge yam I don’t know if you like to eat”
He said.

“Yes I will eat but add it too much pepper without pepper it will make me to throw up”
She said with smiles.

He smiled and said,
“Okay,I will be at the kitchen now”

“Why did you always like to cook? Is cooking part of your acting?
She asked.

“Nope! am not acting,I love cooking so I being myself”
He answered.

She sounded with smiles.

He said and went to the kitchen.

“He is very nice and caring,for the past four days he has been here he has been taking good care of me asking what I will like to eat,how am doing and so on he is acting like a real fiance to me,I have never seen any man like him before all my ex boyfriends are nothing like him”

Ken was undressing to have his night bath and Rose badge in,she shouted at the moment she saw him naked and back faced him.

“Oh my goodness! Why are you naked on my room?
She shouted.

“You should have knock before coming in”
He said.

“I should have knock in my own room, please find something to wear”
She shouted.

“Am going to shower”

“Then go and do that stop standing naked there”
She shouted.

He grabbed his towel tied it around his w–st and went to the bathroom.

“Oh my goodness! How could he be naked like that?
She sounded and jumped on the bed.

“Your mother believes am your fiance the one that got you pregnant and now she is taking the whole thing so far she want us to get marry,we know there’s no how the marriage will happen so it is better we tell her the truth and stop fooling her”
He said.

“I can’t tell her the truth,she gonna be heart broken if she find out how I became pregnant and besides she will soon go then your work will be done”
She said.

“And you think she will not find out, there’s nothing hidden under the sun that will not be expose,what will you tell her when she finally discover the whole truth”
He said.

“There’s no how she will find out if even she found out I will make up a story to tell her,a story she will believe without having any second thought about it”

“Okay ooo! but if I may ask who is the father of your baby or how did you got pregnant?
He asked.

“How I got pregnant is none of your business,your business here is to act as my fiance and nothing more so stop asking me that question”
She sounded.

He apologized.

Rose didn’t utter any more word to him,she back face him and her memory flashed back to that faithful day at the club.

“I won’t allow mother to find out but this shameful and disgraceful act of mine,her only daughter from a respected family slept with a stranger at the club this is so awful for her to hear,her heart won’t bear this and it meant lead to something I will ever regret in my life”
She thought.

“How will she tell me about her pregnancy? there’s no how she will tell me and I even made a mistake by asking her because it will made her to remember that painful day of her life,I really feel for her but she would tell her mother the truth then fooling her,I know her mother will stand by her,those rapist must surly reap what they have sowed”

In the morning,he waked up on time as usual,he went down to the kitchen and met Mother cooking.

“Good morning Mama!
He greeted being surprised to see her early in the kitchen.

“Morning Ken! You are wake up already”
She said with smiles.

“Yes Mother,you wake up on time you suppose to be on bed resting and not cooking”
He said.

“I will not be here and allow you to be cooking all the time, is not good I also have to cook”
she said slicing the tomatoes.

“But am not complaining Mama,cooking is what I love to do besides you are here for holiday so you don’t have to stress yourself with the cooking or even the house chores all you have to do is to rest and allow me to handle things in the kitchen”
He said and collected the tomato she was slicing.

Mother stood there staring at him slicing the tomatoes,
“This type of man are every rare to find,so caring and loving,he is exactly the type of man I want as son in-law and so greatful God has finally answered my prayer”
She mumbled with smiles.

Ken turned and said to her with smiles,
“Mother you are still here,go to your room and rest or probably go to the sitting room and watch a movie once am done I will come okay”

“Are you sure you don’t need any help? I can help you to grind the pepper or even slice the onion for you”

“No Mother I don’t need help besides I don’t having assistant while in the kitchen so go and rest food will soon be ready”
He said with smiles.

“Okay Ken!
She smiled and used the door.

Minutes later,the food was done he dished it out to the dinning table and called Mother and Rosy for breakfast.

“That reminds me Rose,I have not seen Nelly for some days now what happen?
She asked while they were having their breakfast.

“Mother she traveled to Abuja for a business contract,I suppose to go with her but due to my condition I didn’t go,she will be coming back tomorrow”
She said.

“I thought her husband is back that’s why she have not visit”
She said.

“No Mother,even if her husband is back you must surly see her in this house with her husband”
She said with smiles.

“Okay ooo! I hope you like the food?
Mother asked.

“Of course Mother,the food is so delicious!

“Ken is indeed a great chef,his food can make someone to lick fingers and even use the tongue to wash the plate and still request for more”
She complimented him with smiles.

Ken laughed and said,
“Thank you so much Mother”

“Mother you can say that again,all his food are so yummy and delicious that’s one of the reasons why I love him the more”
She said and hugged him.

Mother nodded her head and sounded jokey,
“Hmmmmh I see! so his cooking is the reason why you love him so you will not be cooking for your husband”

They bursted out laughing,
“No Mother is not it!
She sounded while laughing.

“I can’t wait for you two to be officially husband and wife and have Ken as my son in-law,what have you two decide about the marriage?
She asked.

“Mother have come again with this marriage thing”
Ken thought.

“Mother since we both love each other I don’t think if there’s any need of rushing into marriage for now until I put to birth”
Rose said.

“Yes Mother,we have decided to wait until she put to birth you know marriage preparation always comes with stress and I don’t want to stress my fiancee and my unborn child”
Ken said.

“Your decision is okay by me,I can’t wait to have you as my son in-law you are such a wonderful person”
She said.

Ken walked to her and hugged her,
“Mother am ready your son in-law wether official or not”

“Thank you so much for loving and caring for my daughter so much”
She said with smiles.

“And thank you so much for giving birth to a caring and loving daughter who have made my life so colorful like the rainbow”
He hugged her again.

It has been one week, Mother have not gone and the acting keep on going without Mother suspecting anything,Rosy and Ken became so closed gisting and sharing things together even at their closeness they never stop demarcating the bed.

Ken brought her breakfast to the room since she is not too strong to go down.

“I brought breakfast for you”
He said and kept it on the bed.

“Thank you! What of Mother?
She smiled.

“She is having her breakfast now,she will come and see you once she is done,please eat and take your medication”
He said.

“Thank you so much!

“I will be down,if you need anything call me okay”
She responded by nodding her head.

Just about to leave Rosy called him back,
“Ken!

“Yes! Did you need anything?

“Please come!
He went closed to her.

“Yes,What did you want?

“Thank you for your taking care of me”
She said with smiles.

He smiled and said,
“Is that why you called me back? C’mon is nothing okay”

“It means a lot to me”
She stared at his l-ips and went closer to him,she wanted to k!$s him.

Ken stopped her and withdrew back,
“What are you trying to do?
He asked being confused of her attitude.

Rose became so shame of herself and apologized immediately,
“Am sorry,it won’t happen again”

“Is okay,eat your food and take your drugs”
He said and used the door.

“Damn me! What came for me? Why did I try to k!$s him?
She sounded.
