CHAPTER SEVEN: DAPHNE IS TAKEN.
The evening grew near, Hannah’s beating heart increased. The want to see him was burning in her in,side, to be called his wife was her dreams to come. Daphne helped her pack her clothes and every other valuable things she would need for the journey.
She decided to go out for a quick shopping in one of the stores not quite far. She had already dressed up, ready to go when Daphne’s voice stopped her. ” I will follow you. ”
” No, dear, I want you to stay back. ”
” But it is my duty to stay your side all the time? ” She insisted.
” I know you are only trying to prove your loyalty and I do respect that. Likewise, it’s a perfect reason why I want you to stay back. You are the only one I can trust who can make my chamber a lot comfortable for Luxor and I tonight that is why I have decided you stay here instead. ”
” Who will escort you then? ”
” Don’t worry, Line is outside. It’s only but a quick shopping, I will be back very soon. ”
” Okay. ” She nodded.
She left outside the castle with Line while Daphne kept on with decorating and rearranging the room over and over again. She kept some petals at the corners of the room to enhance it’s smell.
She left the room to the kitchen, returning with a tray of different fruits and vegetables contained in it. She looked around the room to see if there was anything else she had forgotten to do, everything, everywhere looked amazing and welcoming.

He stopped metres away from the castle, with two of his trusted men who had accompanied him. ” Get into the castle, capture the princess and return back to Maidenstone. ”
” What about you, sire. ” Asked Earnest.
” Do not worry about me for I have an uncompleted mission to attend. Go, and wait not for me. ” They rode in different directions but all still heading to the castle.
Luxor left to Euchred’s chamber while Earnest with Gideon left in search of the princess’s chamber. Earnest threatened a maid who terrifyingly directed him to princess Hannah’s room, they quickly made it to her room, banging the door wide open.
Daphne flinched from her thoughts only to see two strange faces standing before her. ” What is going on here? ” Was the first thing she could ask.
” We are here to take you home, my lady. Come with us, for we have no time left. ”
” I am going nowhere until you two explain yourselves and why you had to bang into the room. Have you no manners at all? ”
” We received a letter from your father that the Barbarians were invading the castle. ” He answered.
” What Barbarians? ” She asked, confused. ” Look, I do not care what you have heard or listened, there is no Barbarians coming and you… ” She paused as Gideon approach close to her, ” What do you think you are trying to do? ”
” I am sorry, your Highess but we have no time left. ” He stroke her on her pulse, letting her fall in his arms.
” What was that for? That is His majesty’s bride!” He said, almost like a yell.
” I had to or the Barbarians meets us here. Let’s get out of here. ”
They left as quickly as the came, leaving back to Maidenstone without their King. Luxor on the other side, went into Euchred’s chamber. Meanwhile, Euchred has been notified that Luxor was in the castle, and he knew not to be told that his next step was in his room.
Euchred immediately hide the treasure underneath his bed, so as to avoid Luxor from taking it back. But Luxor being so smart, he knew that was the only place Euchred could hide his things for there was no hidden place in his chamber.
” Welcome, Luxor, just as I expected you to come. ”
” I am very pleased you welcomed my arrival. ”
” Have you met with my daughter yet? She will be in her room waiting. You definitely do not know how happy she has been to have you. ”
” I am not here to listen to the excitement of your daughter for I will see it in her myself. You know why I am here, Euchred, give it back as you promised. ”
” Promised? ” He snorted. ” I never promised you anything, Luxor. And besides, that treasure belongs to me now. ”
” Is that the threat you give to me? First, making me believe the Barbarians were coming, and now denying not to have promised to hand over the treasure in exchange for your daughter? ”
” I am not threatening you, Luxor, I am only reminding you that we never had any bargain on this. But if you insist, you must first spend the night here in the castle with my daughter and while you leave by morning, I will return the treasure peacefully to you. ”
He stretched out his sword at king Euchred’s throat, ” Do you know the consequences of your act, Luxor?”
” No one dares to threaten your life with a sword, I know the damn consequences, Euchred. Now, I am going to ask you for the last time, where is the treasure?! ”
” Spend the night with my daughter, and I will give it to you. ” He insisted.
” Very well, then. ” He took it from underneath his bed from whence he had his it. ” Worry not about your daughter for she is under my protection. ” With this, he left his room exiting the castle immediately.

As soon as Hannah returned, she saw the sad looks on everyone’s faces. The once busy castle grew calm. Everyone were supposed to be doing one thing or the other but no, not as she had expected.
Was his arrival another failure? Is this one of his disappointing acts towards her?
She went to her father’s room, to see him in the worst state ever. She stared around the room then at him. ” What is it, father? What happened here? Why is everyone so calm?” She asked, confused on which answer to receive first. ” Father, say something. ”
” It’s Luxor…”
” He is here already? ” She asked, almost getting a relief. ” You should be happy then, we all should. Where is he now, I must see him quickly. ” She said about to leave but he stopped her.
” He is not here anymore, ” he said to her disappointment.
” What?!” She stormed. ” What could that mean, father? Did you have him chased away? ”
He shooked his head. ” He came, took the treasure away and left. I am as surprised to see you here for he said he had taken you under his protection. ”
She shook her head too. ” No, I was outside the castle to purchase somethings for my leave to Maidenstone. ”
” It’s too late, Hannah. Luxor is coming no more. Now that he posses the treasure, we have no control over him anymore. ”
She continuously shook her head, ” No, you are wrong father, Luxor will come back for me. He will.”
” My lady, ” Susan rushed in, breathing like a slayed fowl. ” My lady… ”
” Speak, what is it?”
” Daphne, she is not in the castle anymore.”
” What does that mean?! Where is she?!! What has happened to her?!! ” She yelled.
” She is gone… King Luxor’s men took her away. They had mistaken her to be you. ”
” No!!! ” She cried, leaving to her room. She banged it open, staring at the already beautified room with the petal scent which filled the entire room. She fell to the ground, sobbing uncontrollably, “No, no… This shouldn’t be happening! This shouldn’t have happened at all!! Daphne, why would you do this to me?! Why?!! ”
