Heights Of Deception (episode 7)
A person who is aware of their self-worth, is one with an unstoppable force and great power. When you finally realize your worth as an individual, everything instantly changes and a wh0le new ‘You’ is born. There are so many things we tolerate or condone that has played a big role in the ill fated situation we find ourselves in. When you begin to say ‘No’ or walk away from certain situations that are positioned to bring you down, you will be introduced to a wh0le new level of self-esteem and peace. It’s a thing of joy that Kesha had finally realized her worth and wasn’t going to accept the directions life was going for her. It was time for her to rewrite her story the way she wanted and this time around, she would be the author and not someone else.
To be honest, it’s about time parents began to show support to their children with broken homes, rather than blame them for having a failed marriage and walking away. That little word of support from Kesha’s mum was enough strength she needed to walk away from her marriage with Dan. If Kesha’s mum wasn’t as supportive as she was, it might have broken her the more and made matters worse. The fact that the elderly woman concurred with her daughter’s decision to end things with Dan, made everything alot easier for Kesha.
The next day, Kesha was discharged from the hospital and returned back home in the company of her family and friends. Her support system was very strong and extremely helpful. In no time, Kesha was strongly back on her feet and the first thing she did was file for a divorce. Shortly, the divorce papers were out and mailed to Dan to sign; of which he didn’t hesitate in signing. There wasn’t any dispute as regards the divorce so they didn’t waste any time going back and forth in court.
Shortly after the divorce, life moved on and everything gradually came back to normal for Kesha. Two months after, God smiled at her and things began to fall into pleasant places for her. First it was an employment opportunity as a manager at a reputable beverage company. Secondly, it was a car gift from someone she helped years back while still in school. At this point, it’s safe to say that life had smiled at the once ill fated lady.
While Kesha’s life was doing better than imagined, we couldn’t say same for Dan. It turns out that his marriage with Sharon was a ‘Hell on Earth’ reality. Sharon was a hot headed and no-nonsense women that didn’t like to be tolled with by any man. She gave hell to anyone that asked for it and was hærdly remorseful. Finally, Dan had met his match and all we can do is imagine what their marriage would look like.
Just as predicted, Dan and Sharon’s marriage was nothing to write home about. They fought and quarreled at any given chance. Sharon wasn’t a listener, so it was extremely difficult for them to communicate as a couple.
Whenever they fought, Sharon would send Dan out of her house to the streets. She usually threatened to send him back to his country if he ever cheated on her, and due to this, he felt caged in the marriage.
Gradually, Dan began to regret his decision of marrying a cold hearted woman like Sharon. He greatly missed his freedom and also missed the liberty he once had to womanise. As time went by, Dan began to review and think about his life decisions. He felt sober as he thought of how bad he had lived his life and also those he hurt in the process.
For some strange reasons, Dan’s heart was pierced and he became sober as the days went by. The sad reality of how bad he treated Kesha began to dawn on him. The fact that they were now divorced made matters even worse because he found it difficult to accept that he ruined his marriage of barely two years old. Despite missing his ex-wife, he couldn’t summon the courage to call her. As hærd as life was for the Gold Digger, he had to accept his reality.
Days turned to months and months to years. It’s been about 3 years since Kesha divorced Dan. At this time, she had become very mature in her reasoning and was now a woman of substance. Kesha’s level of self esteem and confidence was topnotch and it attracted men from high calibre. She had lots of male friends but was still very much single.
If there was one thing Kesha was afraid of, then it would be not to make another mistake with Love. She was highly careful in her selection when it came to men so as not to fall for another Gold Digger. Life as a single lady continued for her until one fateful evening when everything changed.
It happened one Friday evening that Kesha went out for a drink after work at a nice restaurant. As she gently sh¡pped her drink, she perceived a strong pleasant smell from behind. Curious to find out where the smell was coming from, she turned and her eyes locked with that of a handsome looking gentleman in black suit. In order not to look interested, she immediately looked away but it was already too late because the man was into her. He walked towards her with a warm smile on his face.
“Can I sit with you?” The gentleman calmly asked, “Sure, you can” Kesha replied. He sat down and ordered for a drink; “do you want a drink too?” He inquired, “Oh no, I already have mine, thanks!” she calmly replied with a faint smile on her face.
The atmosphere was a bit tensed but the gentleman wasn’t ready to back down anytime soon. He thought of a better way to start a conversation with Kesha but no idea was forth coming so he just followed his heart. “How was your day?” He asked, “uhmm, stressful” she replied, “Do you want to talk about why it was stressful?” He inquired and Kesha smiled; “Not to worry, it’s nothing actually” she replied.
As they conversed, the gentleman stylishly looked at Kesha’s wedding finger and found no ring. He was relieved but still went on to ask her questions about it. “Sorry to say this, but I find it hærd to believe that a beautiful lady like you haven’t been snatched off the market yet. Are other guys blind? Because I am not blind” he playfully said and Kesha smiled. She paused for a moment, took a deep breath and said; “I’m divorced”.
Immediately Kesha revealed her marital status, the gentleman smiled, looked at her and said; “Everything is beautiful but not everyone sees it. Your ex didn’t know what he had, that’s why he left. However, I count this day as my lucky day because it isn’t everyday one gets to meet an angel. My name is Desmond, nice meeting you”.
It’s been a long time since Kesha heard sweet reassuring words from the opposite s€×. She smiled faintly and said; “My name is Kesha, nice meeting you too!”.
