📚Chapter Fifty Four📚

🌀🌀SAMANTHA POV

I laid on the hospital bed feeling lots of pain in my body.A drip was connected to my arm and a bandage was wrapped around my head.

One of my eyes were swollen and my cheeks hurt like hell.Their was a huge cut on my l-ips and my legs,in short I can’t even recognize myself.

“Get the stupid mirror away from my face!”.I yelled at the nurse who handed me a mirror and she quickly took it away.

Oh Tripp,I promise you that every pain you and your friends caused me,I shall make you feel them!

“Doctor,how is she now?”.My mum asked worriedly as she sat close to me. She looks sad and had tears in her eyes.

“She is a bit fine I can say though you should be thankful she is back from coma.She was seriously wounded and am sorry to say this but she may be here longer than expected”.The doctor said as he used his stethoscope on me.

“When doctor? I thought you said she would probably be discharged next week”.Mum said and I watch as tears rolled out of her w-t eyes.

Geez! I must make sure the T boys pay for what they caused me.They must rot in hell!

“Am sorry ma’am but her condition got critical.She would be fine soon anyways if treated,some of her bones were dislocated and she got few internal bleeding and large wounds. You can now come to my office to know more about the bill so that treatment can commerce immediately”.The doctor said and walked away with the rest of the nurses.

Mum turned to me and held my arm but I quickly pulled her arm away from her grip.

“Ouch!”.I whined as pain shot from my sore arm.

“Oh..I warned you Sammy! I warned you never to follow those bad boys but you stubbornly refused! Now, look at yourself! Just take a look! Ah! I can’t believe this,I can’t believe you are here in this hospital.This shouldn’t had happ…”.

The sound of the door creaking open interrupted her from completing whatever she was saying.

We turned to the door but was surprised to see some policemen and a man on suit.

“Please,we are here on a search for Samantha Adams.Do you know who she is or where she might be?”.The man on suit asked and I shivered.

Wait….What!!

Samantha Adams?? Me?? Why are these people looking for me? Oh Lord!

“Samantha Adams?”.Mum asked,looking confused.

“Yeah,Samantha Adams.We are searching for her”.The man on suit said.

“Why..Why are you searching for her?”.Mum’s voice was kinda filled with worry.

“It’s is our own business and we would like that no one interfere”.The man on suit on said answered grumpily. “Anyways,am Mr Rick.Have a nice day!”.

He was about walking away but mum called him.

“Mr Rick?”.

“Um..Yes! What?”.Mr Rick asked turning back to her.

“What has Samantha Adams committed? What’s her offense?”.Mum asked and it took few seconds before Mr Rick answered.He was watching her expression.

I knew what he was going to do! He was gonna lie that I committed nothing so that mum would tell him that am Samantha.

Oh! That’s what they do!!

“Actually ma’am,she did nothing serious! The girl we are looking for got missing and am her dad,we are searching for her and we need to gather much information to know her whereabout”.Mr Rick said putting on a smirk.

Darn it! That was a lie,it was obvious.

“Oh! Really? Then it must be a coincidence”.Mum smiled turning to me. “This is my daughter Samantha Adams”.

Mr Rick and the policemen stared at me and surprisedly, they walked to me.

“You are under arrest Miss,you committed a huge offense”.They said and mum gasped.

“You lied to me!”.She yelled angrily.

“Yes and that was because you weren’t willing to tell the truth”.Mr Rick smiled and mum gasped again.

“Ah! This isn’t happening”.She scoffed with tears dropping from her eyes. “You can’t arrest her…please!! She isn’t well,she isn’t strong,she needs some time please”.

Tears gather at my eyes as my sadness found there way into me.

Oh! What have I done? Just because of Lincoln,I did things I shouldn’t have done and now,the people who care about me are suffering for it.Why does this had to happen to me?

“We know that!”.Mr Rick said shrugging. “So,she would be arrested once she gets better”.

🌀🌀LINCOLN POV
The Next Day..

I dressed up for work while Belle made breakfast.I walked to the dining room and smiled at the sight of a mouth watering food.

“Good morning Lin”.Belle smiled and I nodded before we began eating.

“It tastes delicious, Bel”.I said and she blushed.

“Thanks”.

Shortly,we heard a knock on the door and Belle went to open the door but I was surprise when I saw some policemen and a man on suit walk in.

I could see them through the dim yellow curtain in the dining room.

“Are you Belle..the girl who worked as a salesgirl in Flora’s supermarket?”.The man on suit asked and Belle nodded.

“Yes,I am and I guess you are Mr Rick,the owner of the supermarket”.Belle said looking confused.

“That’s correct”.He paused and roam his eyes around. “My CCTV camera caught a male who poured fuel on you and we found out the guy’s plan was to burn your face not the supermarket. Investigators are actually investigating the case but am sorry to say this,you would have to follow me to the station for interrogation”.He said and I began p-nting.

“Am very nervous, Lin”.Belle said as we both walk into the large station with Mr Rick and the rest officers.

I held her hand and that seems to make her feel relax a bit.

“Am nervous too,Bel”.I mumbled. “But we just have to be strong and assure our selves that everything is gonna be fine.Don’t worry too much,okay?”.

Before we arrived at the station, Mr Rick took his time to explain to us about what he found out from his CCTV camera and he also told us that the boys who burn down the supermarket has been arrested though he never told us their names.

“Uh..okay.Am trying to feel calm but I still not understand what we are doing here.I mean I did nothing wrong! It wasn’t my fault that the supermarket got burnt”.She stated looking so confused.

“You are gonna be interrogated Bel cause you’re one of the victims of the fire.You should just let them do their job so that we can go home forgetting that this ever happened”.I said and she nodded.

“Okay..fine!”.She sighed and just then,Mr Rick walked to us.

We actually stopped walking when we got to a room with the letters ‘INT UNIT’ written on the door.

“Are you in anyway related to her?”.Mr Rick asked me with a stern look.

“Um..no.We are in a relationsh¡p, sir but why do you ask?”.I said and he smirked.

“You can wait out here for her.She would be busy in,side”.He said and I scoffed slightly.

“Can’t I go in with her? Am her boyfriend!”.I said but he refused stubbornly.

“You will have to wait in here, no more words..”.He turned to Belle. “Can we go in now?”.

“Uh..Yes! Of course! We should go in!”.She sighed nervously and walk into the room so did Mr Rick before the door was finally shut.

I waited for Belle for what seems like hours but she still wasn’t out of the room.I took my phone on my palms and began listening to some music just to while away time but nothing seems to keep my mind at rest.

I sighed and tried to relax cause have been standing for so long and damn,my feet hurts.

Finally,the door went open and Belle walked out smiling so did Mr Rick and few officers.

“Hey! How did it go?”.I asked her and her smile grew w¡der.

“It went surprising well,Lin.I am free now and well,the suspects have been arrested. We can go home now!”.She smiled and that made me smile too.

Wow! I didn’t expect it to end so soon..

“So,who was the suspects? Did you get to see them?”.I asked and she frowned.

“Gish! I hate seeing those faces. You wouldn’t believe those suspects are people you know”.She rolled her eyes angrily.

“I don’t understand, Bel.Who are those people?”.I asked and her frown deleted off her face.

“It’s Tripp and his friends.They caused the fire on the supermarket. Tripp was the one who almost burned my face! He was the one,it was their plan!”.Belle ranted and I gasped loudly.

Tripp and his friends?? Why would they want to harm Belle? I know they hate me but as it got to the extent of harming the person I love? Geez! They must be out of their minds.

“Hope they weren’t threatening you with their glances?”.I asked and she scoffed.

“The officers made sure they didn’t but still,I found out something”.She said sighing. “I found out the identity of the person who sent them and shockingly,it’s someone you know quite well”.

“Who is the person?”.I asked curiously.

“It’s your ex – girlfriend, Samantha Adams.She was the one who sent Tripp and his friends to burn my face though I heard she wouldn’t be arrested immediately cause she is receiving treatment in an hospital”.Belle said and I gasped but this time more loudly.

Samantha?? What? Did I even hear her clearly? Oh my Goodness! Why would Samantha do such a thing? Why would she join hands with those devils?

She wasn’t like this,no she wasn’t like this.Why did she had to change?

The fact that I doesn’t like her anymore doesn’t mean that she should struggle hærd to get me back,other guys are somewhere waiting for her for accept their proposal but she just ruined it all with her unnecessary love for me.

It all ended when she broke me with me.

I had tried to explain to her but she just keep fighting back,now she must be regretting.

“Lin..”.Belle was cut off by the loud yelps and sobs coming from the INT UNIT which I think means Interrogation Unit.

Four boys who were handcuffed were walking out of the room looking so downcasted,two of them had tears rolling down their cheeks.

What the hell! I recognize them! It was the T boys; Tripp,Tom,Travis and lastly Timothy.

I felt a sting in my heart when I saw timothy,he was crying but then he glanced at me.It was a short glance cause he immediately took his eyes away.

Hmm..
I watched till they were finally taken away before taking my eyes back to Belle.

“Hey! Wow! Lincoln,you really came!”.A voice so familiar yelled as some footsteps raced to me.

It was Mrs Flynn,Timothy’s mum!

“Oh! Mrs Flynn,good morning.How are you?”.I asked and she smiled sadly.

I could see some dried tears on her cheeks as her teary red eyes stare at me. Oh Poor Mrs Flynn! She must have been here for long trying to save her son from being arrested.

“How have you been doing Lincoln? You look so fleshy”.She smiled again as her eyes glisten with tears in them.

She was about to cry! Her eyes must be overfilled with tears and its about to drop.

“Thanks Mrs Flynn,have been doing just great”.I faked a smile with a soft sigh.

“Oh,I would have like to ask what you are doing here but there is no time.I need to meet some officers here before they gets busy.Anyways, Timothy wants to see you,he told me he would like to speak to you and well I agreed to go call you.It’s your choice to go meet him though”.She said and I shrugged.

I can’t refuse,if I do then her tears might just fall any second.Geez! I wouldn’t like to see that.

“Okay then.I will go meet him”.I said and she smiled happily.

“Wow! At least he would be so happy.His cell is the fifth at the left”.She said and smiled again before walking away.

“That woman looks really sad”.Belle who had been listening to our conversation said and I nodded.

“Yeah,she is sad”.I voiced out sadly. “I would be gone for a while but I would return soon,okay?”.

“Okay”.She responded and I went off to the prison wards.

I found Timothy exactly where his mum directed me but a cop was standing right at his prison ward looking around.

“Uh sir but can I please speak to him for some minutes? It won’t take long”.I pleaded and the cop scoffed.

“Who are you? Brother,cousin or what? Are you in anyways related to him?”.He asked and I shook my head.

“No,but he do wants to speak to me”.I said but the cop frowned.

“Well sorry Mister but I can’t trust you, you might be a killer sent to kill him or something or you might even want to discuss an escape plan with him”.He said and I almost rolled my eyes.

“No sir,I can’t do all that.Please trust me!”.

“Well,I clearly can’t so pl…”.He was cut off by the sounds coming from the cell.

“Let him in please,I want to speak to him please”.Timothy yelled and the cop frowned again more deeply.

“Just one minute”.He scowled. “If anything fishy goes in there,you will be held responsible”.

He opened the key to the prison ward and I walked in while Timothy rushed to me.

“Oh,Lincoln! Am so sorry for all the ways I treated you,it wasn’t my fault,I was just blinded by hate.Believe me,I didn’t join those guys in hurting your girlfriend,they arrested me because I was with them while committing other crimes but trust me Lincoln,I would never harm you..”.I cut him off angrily.

“Wait…Hold on! Did you just say trust you? Why should I trust you? I trusted you as a friend but you betrayed me and then turned to an enemy. All my teen years,you bullied me,you treated me like some useless shit.I felt hated,I felt rejected,I felt useless,I felt like I was abominable.Why? It was because of you guys..it was because of you and your stupid friends but then I found love..I found someone who loves me but you guys wanted to take that one away from me too. What have I done wrong? I don’t remember hurting you or your so called friends then why was I treated that way?”.I asked,looking so teary.

“Please forgive us Lincoln,it wasn’t intentional..”.I cut him off with a laugh.

“Oh really? It wasn’t intentional and I should forgive you guys,huh? Then what about your mum who have been running helter skelter for you,shouldn’t you beg for her forgiveness too? For being stubborn and for not listening to her advice like an obedient son would do.You should be happy Timothy for having such a mum who would never give up on her son..who would like to make sure her son is perfectly safe and sound.Guess what? If I were in your shoes,my mum would never ever spare me a glance talking less of wasting two minutes of her time in trying to set me free for prison.You should be happy Timothy!”.I said and his face fell.

“Hey,your one minute is over!”.The cop said and giving one last look at the crying Timothy,I walked out of the prison ward.
