Chapter 39 A : ILLIANA IS SHOT.
I woke up to see Kaden staring at me with a worry-sick eyes. This is the third time I have ever woken up to see him in such way.
I looked at Laura who was sitting beside me, she shrugged her shoulders. ” You wouldn’t wake up, I had no choice.”
I hated it whenever Kaden gets bothered. It hurts me so much to see him carry both my own burden as well as every one else’s.
Though he has every right to know, but some times, I wished he doesn’t know a thing about my vision and what I am.
I returned my gaze back to Kaden, whose eyes haven’t left me. ” Laura told me every thing. Is it about the Amazon Home? ”
I couldn’t say any thing, tears had already started rolling out if my eyes.
” Ana,” he sat down on the bed, his eyes searching into mine for an answer.
It’s painful, you know. It’s so so painful. How? How can Gene and Danielle do this to father? How can they be so heartless to let him suffer the pains all alone?
Even mom? She is the least person I even expected to do this. I never even expected her at all.
What the heck has gone over them?
” Ana, talk to me, please. What is the problem? ” He sounded more than concerned. ” What did you see? ”
The tears was now rolling uncontrollably out of my eyes, that I could barely see his face.
” Dad. It’s Dad and he is sick. ” I managed to say with the struggles of the hiccups. ” It’s my Dad.”
” What happened to him? ”
” He’s dying, Kaden. My dad is gonna die. ”
He held my face in his hands. ” Maybe you just have to calm down and talk to me. What is really happening to your father? ”
I sniffed hærd, while he wiped off the tear stains on my face. ” I’m listening. ”
” Kaden, all those while I have been seeing you in my dreams, it wasn’t really you. It was my dad. ”
” How is that possible? ”
” Evelyn told me some times we see faces we know but it’s actually not then that it happens to. She told me it was my Dad, and I went home to see for myself. He wasn’t looking okay. He looks like he was gonna die now and then. ”
” What about your sisters? ” He asked.
” They left him. ” I shook my head. ” No one stays with him anymore. ”
” And your mother? She left too?” Laura added.
” Yes, though she do pay him a visit. But not all the time. ”
” What kind of sisters do you have? ” Kaden questioned.
” I thought… I never knew this will all turn out this way. We have to help him or he dies. ”
” Seriously, you’ve got the worst and heart hearted sisters as a siblings. This is disappointing. I really pity you, Ana. We need to take care of him. ”
I looked at Kaden who seemed to be a bit quiet. ” What do you think?” I asked.
“I’ll talk to Coen about this tonight. I’ll see to it that your father is taken good care of. You don’t have to worry too much, okay? ” He assured me.
I sigh in relief, nodding my head at him. ” Okay. Thank you. ”
Laura stood up to go,” I’ll leave you two alone. ”
” I’m worried, Ana. ” He started. ” Im worried you don’t have a good home. ”
I heaved. ” It’s not like I knew this would all happen. It’s not my fault I have a bad home and a wicked sisters too. I just pity him, he doesn’t deserve any of this. ”
” I was thinking of bringing him over to the pack. But in a second thought, I’m not sure if he will accept to the idea. ”
” Of course, he will. He has no other option but this place. ”
” I will bring him over, but first, he needs a good medication. ”
I nodded.
I noticed the pimple beside his nose, it was dark red in colour. ” What happened to your face?” I asked him.
He touched his face, ” What happened to my face?” He asked back.
” I never knew you have a pimple on your face. ”
” I don’t have pimples. ” He denied.
” But you do now and it’s obvious now. ”
” Seriously, where is it? ”
I was laughing at him. I knew doing that made him angry, so I stopped laughing. ” I’m sorry, I’ll get you my face cream. ”
I stepped out of the bed to get my face cream from my make up drawer.
I had already bring it out when I heard the cracking sound of the window. Turning to see what had caused it, I felt a sharp pain just above my chest.
” Arrggh!! ” I yelled in pains as I fell to the ground. ” Ahhh!! ”
Kaden rushed to me, cutting the arrow in half. ” Ana, how are you feeling?”
” It… It… It hurts. I… I… can’t feel… my hand anymore.” He jerked me up into his arms, dashing out of the room to Doctor Evans lab.
I was feeling so dizzy and tired, my eyes were growing heavy to blink.
” Babe, just hold on a little while. ”

He banged the door with his feet, yelling Evans name from the door. Evan left what he was doing, running to answer his call.
” Your… ” He was shocked. ” My Lady? What happened to her? ”
” Some one shot her through the window. I think it contains poison, she can’t feel her hands. ”
” I’ll do some thing as soon as possible. ”
” Okay. ”
He turned to leave, I grabbed his hand, shooking my head at him. ” Please, don’t do any thing stupid. ”
He looked above his shoulder, I barely saw his eyes but it looked different. Those green eyes had turned red. Not just red but dark red in colour.
He left the room, angrily.
” You have to stop him. ”
” No one can stop His Majesty when he is angry. We just have to let him do whatever he wants. ”
” His eyes… they looked different. ”
” I know. It’s always different when he is angry. My Lady, you don’t have to worry, The Master knows what to do. ”

Kaden banged the meeting door open, the wh0le cabinets stopped their discussion to face him. ” Your Highess.” They stood up, bowing at him.
He didn’t reply them, and his face spoke of his expression. They all stared confused at themselves.
Whenever He was in such mood, no one dares to ask him what or why he was like that.
He stamped his fist on the table. ” I need the Chief Commander Office and Coen right now. ” He announced.
One of the councils quickly went right away to call on the Commander.
In no time, both the council, the Chief Commander and Coen entered at the same time.
” You called me, Sire. ” Said the Commander as soon as he entered.
” I need y….” He was interrupted by the sound of the door.
The messenger has come with a news. Kneeling in respect, he said. ” Your Highess,”
” Report. ” He instructed him to go ahead.
” Your Highess, the Vergence Pack are matching to our territory as we speak. ” He announced.
Kaden’s eyes flew open. He was about to gather his armies to match to the Vergence, but hearing they were coming instead, gave him a full evidence that it was really one of them who had attacked Illiana.
He returned his gaze to the commander. ” Gather the armies, we leave at night fall. ”
Bowing, he said. ” Yes, Sire. ”
” Any news from our spies?”
” I received one from a spy, he said the Vergence has collided with the Hill Stone Pack. Though they are matching from a different direction. ”
” Hmmmm. ” Kaden hummed, with a smirk. ” Very smart plan of you, Reheb.”
He left the room.
” Minister of State Affair, ” he called.
” Yes, Your Highness. ”
” Do we have enough for the war? ” He asked.
” Yes. We have more than enough for this war. ”
” I need you to send a message to the Moon Stone Pack, tell them to delay the trade until tomorrow. ”
” I will do that immediately, Your Highness. ”
” Dismissed. ” They all left the room for him and Coen.
Coen, though he understood why Kaden had called him, but yet he still looked confused.
He has never seen Kaden in such state, and asking for the Army Commander, he knew some thing bad was coming up.
” You aren’t ready, are you? ” Coen asked him.
” I have been ready for this day to come a long time ago. I would have loved to match to their territory myself, but thankfully they are on their way. ” He said, sitting on one of the chairs.
” Is this still all about your father and his step wife?” He asked again.
” I don’t think it has to do with my father. It’s the woman he got married to and The Book. ”
” Oh, so she still wants the Book? ”
” She will never rest until she has it.”
” Will you let her have it? ”
” She will prefer me to die than I give her that Book. ” He heaved heavily. ” One of them shot Ana an arrow from my window, her body is reacting to it. The doctor said the arrow has been poisoned. ”
” What’s so special about this Book that the Vergence would want to get to it and your clan? ”
” Like I once told you, the Book holds a secret about the pack no one knows. All we need right now is to get some one who can read the Book.
But the Physician already said there is some one who can read it. ”
” Who is that? ” He asked, curiously.
” Illiana. ”
” I thought she is a seer. ”
” Guess she isn’t just that. Maybe they’re more about her we need to know. But for now, let’s hope Roheb and my step mother doesn’t get hold of The Book. ”

Illiana has been muttering different words since Kaden brought her. She had woken up and fainted almost like three to four times now.
The doctor has tried as much as he can ever offer to see to it that he calms her down, but each effort he made gets worst.
Her temperature has risen from low to high, almost to the pick of losing hope in her survival. Her voice would get high, then low and high again.
This keeps repeating itself over and over and over again. And he has never been frightened like this since he started his job.
” Miss Walker?” He called, trying to tap her body but the hotness stopped him from touching it. ” Shit, you’re burning like hell.”
He rushed to get a bowl of water and a dried towel too, instead the water got more hotter. What is happening? He questioned himself, hoping to get an answer.
I think you’re body serves as an alarm. There’s a war about to happen, right? He asked, like she was even hearing a thing from what he was saying.

Later that night, Kaden along with his armies matched to the battlefield. Alpha Reheb and his armies alongside The Hill Stone Pack had already gotten to the field.
” So, after all here we are. No more procrastination, we are all here. I hope you got my message? Or, you didn’t? ” Alpha Reheb shouted from afar off.
” I got your message. ” Kaden coldly answered.
” I’m impressed. So, before we go ahead to what we have today, why don’t we settle this once and for all? ”
” What do you want, Reheb? ”
” What I want? ” He repeated. ” Well, I think what I do want has some thing to do with her. ”
Kaden’s face grew angrier as soon as he saw her. She rode her horse from the back, halting beside Reheb who has been busy smiling mischievously.
” Hello, son. ” She started with a smirk.
” What do you want? ”
” Maybe a little ‘Hi’ would be better. ”
” I don’t know why you’re here and I don’t either. Just do yourself a favor and return back from where you came cause I am not giving you the Book. ”
” Well, it would be a shameful thing of me to return without having what I came here for. I know Fred had it lied to protect it, and your pathetic King accepted to end his life for a Book.
Isn’t that so stupid and awful of him? ” She smirked. ” To cut the long story short, give us the Book and we will leave both you and your people alone for good. ”
” I should be saying that to you. Leave, and never Return. ”
” What make you think we can do that? ” She asked. ” Look around you, son, we have companies. But you don’t have even a single among you. Who do you think will win, you? ”
She laughed out so loud,” I am so sorry to say this to you but you aren’t leaving here alive. And neither are we leaving without the Book. ” She said in clenched teeth.
” You might have the wh0le world fighting alongside with you, I don’t fear you, I just can’t stop laughing at your lose. To cut the long story short, no one is having the Book. Not you, not him, not… Anyone. ”
” I’m sorry to say this, you leave us no choice. ” She looked at Reheb, nodding at him.
Kaden’s fingers and toe nails lengthened into claws and his teeth sharpened into fangs.
His hair begins to grow from Larry Talbot’s skin, tearing off his clothes from his body and eventually he becomes a creature that resembles a very hairy man with claws and fangs.
His green eyes turned dark red, and the sound of his breath sounded hærd like that of an animal. Just the animal he is.
” Leave the Reheb and the woman to me, the rest… finish them. ” He said in a husky voice.
The war started, Kaden never lost the hope of winning. Though the Vergence Pack were millions bigger than them, he didn’t fear.
He has been ready a long time for them. And today seem to be an expected day for him.
Reheb and his step mother didn’t let go off him, and it was very impossible for them to have him to the ground.
He wasn’t the little boy she knew years back, he has grown up not only to be a man, but an alpha of his own.
She attempted to scratch him, but he made a swift move, dodging her claws. ” Never thought you’d grow to be this smart. ”
” My father had a great son.”
” I’m impressed. ” She praised.
