Payton’s POV

I sighed deeply looking at the large clock in BALFORD college—My dream college.I carried a large box into my new room.A girl was already on the bed and I nipped at my bottom lip seeing how she looked.Her hair was brown with pink streaks all over it,there was a nose ring on her nose and she had tattoos all over..

‘H..hi I’m Payton your new roommate’..i and she turns chewing her gum..

‘Claudine’..She muttered and continued what she was doing with her phone.I heaved a short sigh and dropped my box in near my bed and went outside to get the rest of my things from mom’s van..

‘Are you sure you’re going to be okay??’..She asked..

‘Yeah I think so’..i replied..

‘Look Payton we’re just gonna forget about what happened two years ago,I’m glad the real culprit was found and now he’s in jail you’ve just got to let go’ .She said and k-ssed my cheeks..

‘Do you really think he’s gonna forgive me??’..i asked..

‘No i don’t think so cause you f**ked up really bad but as a consolation you’re not gonna see him again?? I heard he’s in Miami’..She replied and i nodded.After an hour of packing she drove away giving me words of encouragement and i went back to my room….

I hope mom is right about Brody being in Miami cause he’s the last person i want to bump into not after what happened two years ago…

I was so sure that he was my rapist and hated him so much that i didn’t change my statement despite the pleas from mom and the other students at school..

‘I can’t bear this anymore!! The stigma,the insults and the names!! I just wish he goes to jail for what he did’..i said in tears and mom smiled..

‘Everything is going to be fine Payton you just have to….”..Her voice trailed off as soon as we both heard a knock on the door.I stood up from the chair and walked over to the door and opened it only to see Charles at the door…

‘Charles?? What are you doing here??’..i asked as he walked in p-nting heavily…

‘Payton i..I can’t bear it anymore!! I can’t hide the truth anymore!!’..He said..

‘What are you talking about??’..I asked..

‘Brody didn’t rape you!! Chase Dumpkin did.I..it was actually a plan for me to ask you out to Prom and so when you agreed i drugged you.Chase was wearing the same outfit as Brody’s and…he was the one who raped you not Brody’..He said and at that moment my wh0le world crumbled before my eyes..

Chase was sent to jail and Brody was released…

I went to his house to beg for forgiveness but all George said was that he was out of town…

I would never be able to forgive myself for not trusting and believing him but now it’s time for a new life…

Episode 83

Payton’s POV

The week came and gone like the rush of a wind and I began fitting into college a little bit better.My roommate Claudine still stayed away as she referred to me as ‘Goody goody’.I made new friends who were also fresher’s like me and stayed away from some people who wanted me out of their turf…

‘I’m starving i think I’d go get something to eat.You coming Payton??’..Evan,a fresher like me asked and i shrugged..

‘Yeah I’m hungry myself’..I said and we both went to the cafeteria.He ordered for chilli fries and chicken burger while i ordered for hot dogs since my allowance was quickly dropping…

‘You need a diet coke with that’..he murmured..

‘Can’t afford it,i think I’ll just have water or something’..i replied and bit into my hotdog..

‘That’s why you need a job,almost everyone in school have one and i just got mine yesterday as a bartender in City Club downtown’..He said..

‘Yeah I’m considering that too judging from the fact that my roommate Claudine is a jerk and i need money to get some books,my mom has a log on her plate and the last thing I’d do is make her beg just for money for my upkeep’…I muttered under my breath we both sighed in unison..

‘Anyways a new club just opened around school?? It’s called uhmmm Boom some thing’..He said twitching his nose as a fly hovered his burger…

‘Boom Club??’..i asked…

‘Yeah Boom club that’s the one’..he replied..

Boom club?? .

That seems so vaguely familiar…

‘Fine then I’ll check it out’..

Brody’s POV

‘Brody you’re gonna be late for the meeting with the vice chancellor!!’..Mom yelled from downstairs and i scoffed..

I’m 23 and she still treats me like I’m 17…

‘Brody?!!’..She yelled again..

‘What I’m coming!!’..i yelled back and slung my jacket over my shoulder.I tied my nike laces well and went downstairs and she smiled seeing how i looked…

‘Finally you’re getting transferred to a school of your choice’..she said..

‘Not like I have a choice actually.Arma college in Miami doesn’t want me anymore or have you forgotten??’..I replied with a sarcastic drawl and her smile faded..

‘Well that’s because you almost burned the school down and you were sleeping with every girl in sight.These are the keys to your new car and this is the key to the house near the school….I’ll come over frequently to visit while managing the new Boom club around that area’..She explained and i nodded..

A new car??…

A new house??…

Mhenn college life is gonna be damn!!

‘Now listen Brody please stay away from the girls!! Just to complete your two year course?? Remember what happened the last time??’..She said resting her hands on mine and I pursed my l-ips…

‘Yeah i remember vividly mom and thank you for being there for me when i needed you the most.Even though Dad isn’t here now I’m happy you’re here with me,i won’t let any girl get to me it would just be only one night stands and—

‘One night stands?? Brody??’…She exclaimed and i chuckled.

‘You’re such an old school sometimes,it’ll just be me and no one else.I won’t let anyone hurt me the way Payton Carlson did’..i said and she k-ssed my cheeks..

‘Run along son your new car won’t drive itself’..She said..

‘i called you all throughout last night but you didn’t even pick my calls’..I muttered angrily as I slapped my books in front of Evan in the library.He shushed me and looked up only for me to see his eyes all shrunk..

‘Sorry Pay…I didn’t get enough sleep last night’..He replied yawning loudly..

‘Yeah it’s pretty obvious,what happened??’..i asked..

‘A new dude in campus threw a very huge housewarming party last night and it was lit!!’..He said with a very high tone at the last word..

‘A new dude?? Party?? No wonder Claudine wasn’t home last night’..I murmured..

‘Yeah the party was a mad one to be honest,I mean the wh0le school attended apart from you apparently’..He replied..

‘Yeah I don’t like parties anyway how about that new job you were talking about yesterday i really need it now’..I asked nipping at my bottom lip..

‘Ohhh the boom club job?? They’re still open for jobs and i think so you could go get one there’..He replied and i nodded.I went to the Physiology area to get a book and then I saw a guy k-ssing a girl from the other side..

‘Call me??’..He muttered and she nodded…

Somehow his voice sounded like Brody’s but that’s not possible cause Brody doesn’t have black hair.I picked five heavy books and carried them towards the librarian to check them out..

‘Hey I need that’..I heard from behind me and when I turned around the books fell from my hands immediately…

‘Yeah I..I was stupid in the past and I treated him like trash and I thought he had gone so far away!! I would never forgive myself for what I did to him but the fact that he’s already here is just worse’..i replied in tears…

‘Yeah it really isn’t soothing knowing that the ex highschool boyfriend you betrayed is in college with you’..Evan murmured and i buried my head again in frustration…

‘This isn’t what I was expecting?!! I saw the dead look in his eyes Evan and it was scary I tell you!! He hates me so much and now he’s already popular in campus’…I whimpered reminiscing the moment I saw him k-ssing that girl in the library…

‘Everything is going to be okay Payton and it’s college!!! You can act like he doesn’t exist and Oh there’s a fresher’s party holding at his house tonight maybe you could come and maybe straighten things out with him??’..Evan suggested and I almost let out a guffaw…

Brody would never forgive me for what i did to him!!!…

‘Never mind Evan I think I’ll just study’..I said..

‘Uhmm it’s a must to attend the fresher’s party Payton,even the school approves it’..He murmured and I sighed..

‘Fine then I’ll go but you have to protect me and hide me from him got it??’..

‘Yeah Okey-Dokey’..He said and walked out..
