The class wall clock showed it was break period, 11 am precise, The bell rang and everyone trooped out,

I wanted to also go out but reasoned that I had no one to call a friend, and the symptoms of the earlier stripes by the English teacher were still effective; so I decided to just remain in the class. The whole class became cold and depleted when most of the students were gone out.
I searched everywhere and the only person I saw was the slim guy in the front seat. I wondered why the guy always prefer to be in the class during break time.

Prosper, how are you feeling now? , “a familiar voice inquired and I slowly looked back and it was just the person I thought it to be,
I’m feeling better, “I replied with a calm voice,

Sorry,” she said and I realized that almost everyone in this country is addicted to this error of not knowing when to use sorry in a sentence.

I didn’t even have enough strength to correct anyone and even if had I won’t cuz I didn’t want her to feel bad,

Are you through with the pasting of all the notes you missed?” She asked with a concerned look,

I became a bit scared when she said that, why would she want to paste notes for a commoner like me,

she stood up and made to leave and I couldn’t help but held her by the wrist, it wasn’t as if I could not ignore and let her go but my consideration was the fact that she was the only person that got closer to me ever since I stepped into bright future academy, even though she was beautiful and classy but still, she didn’t see me as common as others did, she saved me when the English teacher wanted to send me out of the class because I had no school uniform.

After a while of staring into each other’s eyes, she told me to bring all of the notes I missed, and I was amazed,

The bell finally rang signifying the end of break period and students trooped in.

The boys had a conversation at hand as they entered;

There was an uproar of laughter when that happened, Jackson held his hand and slowly went back to his seat, the laughter continued till a senior student entered,
He started flogging everyone on the back with the long Cane in his hand, two strokes for each person, I was sour afraid,
how will I be able to bear this again after what that ruthless teacher did to me, these thoughts made me scared but I later encouraged myself that I was still going to endure it as I already endured 35 strokes.
The sound alone could make one want to run.
he was through with the two girls that sat before our seat and then It was my turn, I closed my eyes and waited for it but nothing came, I slowly opened my eyes and discovered he was already dealing with the two boys that sat after me which included Jackson, I was really surprised, how come he didn’t flog me, did he forget me or something?
Senior, you didn’t flog this one, Jackson said and pointed toward me, the senior paused and glanced at me, I thought he was going to come back and flog me but instead, he gave Jackson 3 more strokes making it 5, are you the one to tell me who to flog? I was really surprised, even after being reminded that he didn’t flog me, he still ignored and even flogged the person that wanted to expose me, hmm, this is really phenomenal.
When he was done beating everyone, he stood in the middle front of the class, if you like continue from where you stopped, the next round will be 10 strokes each, “that was what he said before walking out of the class.
There was total silence everywhere, no one said anything again, including the talkative ones,

Three more teachers entered the class before the bell finally rang signifying the end of the day’s lectures, the whole students trooped out for the afternoon assembly, I also packed the books I wanted to read in my suitcase and stood up to leave when I heard a sweet voice, ”
Hey Prosper, I turned and lo it was Lucy smiling at me like an angel,
Hi,” I said and smiled back,
How are you feeling now,” she asked with concern,
Better, and thanks for asking, ” I was trying to control myself from smiling but it didn’t work, maybe because I was just too excited for a beautiful angel to care about me,
Don’t mention, “she said and stretched the books she was holding towards me, I’m done with the notes.
I gently collected them from her,
Wow, I really can’t thank you enough, “I said and moodinized my face,
You don’t have to, it’s absolutely nothing, just don’t forget to take a pain reliever when you get home.
I watched as she majestically walked out.

The afternoon assembly was being conducted by the senior that entered our class earlier.

“Whoever comes to this place tomorrow by 7:31 will be mercilessly dealt with, I will be here with all my fellow seniors.
