(Minutes before the rescue)

After hearing from Lionel about Riley’s attempt to rescue Christen on his own, Aunt Jezebel orders Rose to act quickly but before the rescue party could head out, Ebinoluwa shows up at the house with Rotimi just in the nick of time.

Rose ➡ Hmm, I see you made it. I was beginning to think that you wouldn’t show up.
.

Ebinoluwa ➡ We’re here now.
.

Rose ➡ Good, we’ll be heading out to rescue your parents. That your father is fool!
.

Ebinoluwa ➡ Why? Because he went after his wife? Would you rather he sit down and do nothing? I don’t care what you think of him but he’s doing the right thing and that’s to show his undying love for my mother.

Rose ➡ That will be the death of him.
.

Ebinoluwa ➡ No! It won’t. Mom would never do such a thing. She loves him too much to do. I know my parents.

Aunt Titi ➡ I’m glad you have faith on your parents but it’s better we get there just in case anything goes wrong.

Ebinoluwa ➡ Is he coming too? (Pointing to Akinbilege)

Rose ➡ Of course! Why do you ask?
.

Ebinoluwa ➡ I think it would be unwise to bring him along especially not when mom is on berserk mode.

Akinbilege ➡ Don’t worry, I can take care of myself.

Rose ➡ Alright everyone, let’s head to Maiduguri.

Within a blink of an eye, everyone appears in Zambisa forest in Maiduguri and immediately after that, they each disperse searching for Christen’s aura. The group had dispersed into 4 teams which included:-

Aunt Jezebel, Titi and Rose

Ebinoluwa and Rotimi

Akinbilege and Riley jr

Bimpe and Esther.

Here on the north side of the forest, Bimpe and Esther walk steadily trying their best to locate Christen but despite tracking her to this place, they couldn’t pin point where she was. After walking around in silence for a while, Esther decides to break the silence by lashing out on Bimpe’s sneaky schemes.

Esther ➡ That was very low even for you.

Bimpe ➡ What?

Esther ➡ Having a child behind Riley and Christen’s back? That was very low!

Bimpe ➡ That’s none of your business, fish.

Esther ➡ Oh it is. Christen is my best friend and you’re trying to sabotage her happy union.

Bimpe ➡ If I recall, I wasn’t the only one involved in that orgy! You were involved as well.

Esther ➡ Yes but that didn’t make me keep Riley’s seed until I got pregnant with his child. If you weren’t a witch, I would have said you have no shame.

Bimpe ➡ I don’t see why you’re fussing over this. I like Riley too and I would love to have him all to myself but I know it won’t be possible. His love for Christen is unbreakable. So since I can’t have him, there’s no harm in horsing around with him from time to time.

Esther ➡ You’re a slut!!

Bimpe ➡ Aren’t we all?

Esther ➡ Except for Christen!

Bimpe ➡ Whatever.

Esther ➡ How do you think she will react that she has a step son?

Bimpe ➡ Well, she’ll have to deal with it.

Esther ➡ Arent you worried that she might kill him?

Bimpe ➡ I won’t let her. Not my flesh and blood. Riley won’t stand for it.

Esther ➡ Don’t be so sure.

Bimpe ➡ No.. Riley won’t. He can’t. Akinbilege is his son.

Esther ➡ So? He barely knows the boy and the love he has for Christen is way stronger than anything else.

Bimpe ➡ Let’s just drop this talk. You’re annoying me.

Shortly after Bimpe’s statement, Christen’s scream echoes the entire forest sending out a ominous vibe throughout the atmosphere. Immediately they both heard Christen’s scream, Bimpe and Esther soon quicken their steps heading to where the scream had came from.
Meanwhile here in the southern part of the forest, Ebinoluwa and Rotimi who were also looking for Christen had heard her scream and were wondering what could have happened.

Ebinoluwa ➡ It’s my mom. Something must have happened to her.

Rotimi ➡ Can’t sense or smell her.
.

Ebinoluwa ➡ I know what to do. Keep an eye out for anything strange.

Fearing the worst case scenario, Ebinoluwa quickly uses her mother’s magic to find her location and within a matter of seconds, she does.

Ebinoluwa ➡ Oh no!
.

Rotimi ➡ What is it?
.

Ebinoluwa ➡ We have to hurry now.
.

Rotimi ➡ Let’s get going.

Ebinoluwa ➡ No. Bring your hand.

💢 AKINBILEGE 💢

All my life I’ve always wanted to know who my father was. Hearing stories and seeing pictures about him wasn’t enough for me. I wanted to meet the man that risked it all just to mingle with the forces of evil.
For years, I’ve been wondering why my mom and dad were separated and why didn’t they end up together? At first, I thought dad didn’t want me or maybe mom didn’t want him to find out about me but then I found out that, my dad was with another witch, a witch whom he truly loves more than anything else. I was jealous and angry that mom wasn’t my dad’s love interest but then mom later told me the story of how dad and the other witch met and that’s when I realized my mistake.
Since then, my views about my step mom changed. I even wanted to meet her as well and get to know her better. I was filled with joy when I found out that I had siblings but I was also angry that it took this long to meet them and under this terrible circumstances.

Presently here I was with Junior, my brother whom wasn’t exactly happy that we were tagged together. I couldn’t blame the little guy, he’s a kid and kids tend to get emotional about these things. After walking around the forest in silence for a while, I decided to break the silence and start a conversation.

Akin ➡ So Junior! How’s school?
.

Riley Jr ➡ (silence)
.

Akin ➡ Any hopes of becoming anything in the near future?
.

Riley Jr ➡ Bros.. I no dey talk to you o. In fact, why are you talking to me? Na by force!

Akin ➡ Well, we’re brothers aren’t we?

Riley Jr ➡ Brothers ke? Ogbeni, you’re not my brother o. Brother’s have something in common and you and I don’t have any.

Akin ➡ Of course we do. Our father.

Riley Jr ➡ Guy! Don’t deceive yourself. I have no brother.

Akin ➡ You know that’s not true. Look, let me make it up to you. I’ll take you out show you a good time.

Riley Jr ➡ Guy. I no be gay o.

Akin ➡ (This brat) look, that’s not what I meant.

Riley Jr ➡ Okay, what is it you meant?

Akin ➡ I was thinking maybe I could take you to shopping, game centers.. That kind of stuff.

Riley Jr ➡ (laughs) See this nigga! Guy, I’m not a regular kid o. Which one is game centers and shopping? My guy, the only place I get good vibes is where ladies are.

Akin ➡ Oh! I know some pretty girls your age.

Riley Jr ➡ My age!? Guy, I no have time for small girls. Dem no fit start handle my power. I roll with the hot ladies not girls. Ladies.

Mom was right when she said Junior was a pervy brat but still I can’t blame the boy. He’s just too experience and smart for his age. What I can’t help but wonder is how naughty this boy is. He looks innocent to the eyes but after hearing what he said, I bet this boy is a real shege.

Akin ➡ Okay then, I get you but I know a good place in Abuja where hot ladies hang. Fine mermaid babes.

Riley Jr ➡ For real?

Akin ➡ Yes but you’re too young. Only adults can get in.

Riley Jr ➡ Don’t worry about that. Just tell me the name of this place.

Lying to junior isn’t a healthy start to build a bond with him but it’s better than to spoil him. Just as I was about to fabricate a lie, something unexpected occured. Before I could utter a word, I felt something dark and sinister lurking deep in the forest. At first, the aura was just in one place but now, it was all over the entire forest.

Riley Jr ➡ What is it?

Akin ➡ Can’t you feel the dark presence?
.

Riley Jr ➡ So?
.

Akin ➡ And it doesn’t bother you?
.

Riley Jr ➡ No.. I’ve felt something worst than this from Aunt Rose. This is just child’s play.
.

I couldn’t believe what this brat was saying! How could he call this heavy dark presence a child’s play? Is he being cocky just he has the anti magic or is he just being careless? Either way, I couldn’t care less, what mattered now was the situation at hand. In that moment, I unleashed my Divine magic in a form of tiny ball of light and sent it into the forest. The reason why i did that was because divine magic was drawn to such sinister presence and once it gets close to the thing giving out such vibe, it would let me know.
Shortly after I sent the tiny ball of light into the forest, It only took seconds before it exploded giving me the location I needed.

Akin ➡ Junior, stay here.
.

Riley Jr ➡ Where are you going?
.

Akin ➡ I’ll be right back.
.

After that, I teleported straight to where the light exploded and there was dad on the ground looking stunned and dazed. At that moment, I approached and helped him on his feet so that we could leave but what he said next surprised me.

Riley ➡ Akin.
.

Akinbilege ➡ Dad, you’re safe now.
.

Riley ➡ You shouldn’t have come.

Akinbilege ➡ Why?

Before I could get an answer from dad, he grabbed and teleported me outside the forest through which I came in and shortly after that, there was a loud terrifying scream. Just as I was about to get back into the forest, Junior appeared and held my shirt looking terrified.

Akin ➡ Junior let go. Our father is in there.
.

Riley Jr ➡ You should run and I mean now.
.

Akin ➡ No. You expect me to leave dad in there?
.

Riley Jr ➡ Trust me. He’s more safer than us right now. Guy, let’s scatter. I won’t tell you again o.
.

In that moment, Junior transformed himself into a hawk and then flew instantly into the sky. I was shocked seeing Junior reaction cause moments ago, he wasn’t like that. However it didn’t take me long to find out what made Junior turn into a scared rabbit.
Just as I was about to head back into the forest, I felt a strong intimidating presence that made me hesitate and before long, something or rather someone stepped out of forest. Standing before my very eyes was my step-mother Christen, I couldn’t recognize her at first cause her face was full of rage and hate. Her eyes were fixated on me and judging from the way she was grinding her teeth and tightening her knuckles, I knew something was coming. Suddenly out of the ground, large tree roots emerged from the ground trying to impale me, I had teleport myself to the air to evade the blow but all of that was a setup. Immediately I teleported myself to the air, my step mom laughed viciously and then flipped down her right hand down as if she was pulled something from the air and as soon as she did that, a powerful gush of wind struck me down hard to the ground making me completely immobilized. The pressure was incredible strong yet my step-mother managed to focus it directly around me. Her magic skills is beyond amazing.

Dark Christen ➡ You called Riley dad! Who are you?
.

Akin ➡ I’m… your….step-son!
.

Dark Christen ➡ Step-son? (Sniffs) Wait… Your smell… You’re Bimpe’s child? How can this be?
.

Akin ➡ Long…story!
.

Dark Christen ➡ That treacherous b-tch!!!
.

Akin ➡ Please… there’s no need for violence..
.

Dark Christen ➡ SILENCE!!!

Amidst that outburst, my step-mother rose me straight into the air using the wind pressure around me ; then she proceeded to rotate me around and around in a very fast frenzy but that wasn’t that worst part of it. I soon realized that the faster I got spined , the stronger the wind got and as the wind got stronger, I felt like something was trying to pull my body apart.

Dark Christen ➡ Fool, what makes you think that I’ll ever accept you as my step son? You’re an outsider and your existence is a problem to the stability of my family.
.

Akin ➡ (grunts) Mnn! I’m…not…going…to…let…. you do….this!
.

Dark Christen ➡ Oh really? What can you do I wonder?
.

One of the many things that my grand Aunt titi taught me was never to underestimate anyone no matter how they look. My step-mother is truly powerful but that doesn’t mean that I’m a slouch either. My magic is that of balance and that balance came in the form of divine and dark magic, the former repels dark magic while the latter consumes it and unfortunately for my step-mother, she doesn’t know what I’ve got in store.
Just as I was about to be torn to pieces, I used my dark magic to summon a spirit which rescued me just in the nick of time from the jaws of death. Summoning demons wasn’t something I take pleasure in cause doing that sometimes comes with a price but fortunately for me, none of that happened in this situation. The demon I summoned calls herself Delilah, she’s very cunning, sneaky and selfish not to mention heartless. Although she’s a demon, Delilah is one of the weakest of her kind but she’s quite a collector. Every magical item either weapons or curse tools, she amasses them and sells them of anyone who wants but her payment is the problem. Making a deal with this demon is like signing a free gate pass to hell.

Akin ➡ Delilah, I need your assistance!
.

Delilah ➡ See this boy o. Do you have any idea what I was doing when you summoned me?
.

Akin ➡ Look, I don’t have time for your nonsense right now. I need the staff.
.

Delilah ➡ What staff?
.

Akin ➡ Shebi you dey craze abi? Give me the staff! NOW!!
.

Delilah ➡ Okay, okay.. Relax jor.
.

Within a blink of an eye, the staff appeared before me and I didn’t waste time to grab it . It may seem silly for me to fight my step-mother with a staff but this was no ordinary staff, this staff is known as * Isubu orun * (Fall of heaven).
Delilah surely didn’t tell me how the staff got it’s name but did tell me that many have tried to use the stuff for world conquest but have all failed. It seems like those that tried to use the staff had been drained of their life force, the staff chooses who wields it and lucky for me, I was one of the chosen. The staff grants it wielder to access all the elemental powers locked within it and with it at my disposal I can out match my step-mother but Delilah had a different view about that matter.

Akin ➡ Okay Delilah, you can go back now.
.

Delilah ➡ Hold on.. Isn’t that Christen? The witch that married a human?
.

Akin ➡ Yes.
.

Delilah ➡ You know her magic is manipulating nature including elemental forces.
.

Akin ➡ So?
.

Delilah ➡ And you want to fight her with this spear?
.

Akin. ➡ What are you trying to say?
.

Delilah ➡ Good luck!
.

After that, Delilah disappeared leaving me baffled by what she said. Still, there was no time for me to think cause my step-mother’s getting ready to make her move.

Dark Christen ➡ So you want to dance eh? Let’s see what you can do.
.

Akin ➡ Please don’t make me do this.
.

Dark Christen ➡ Or what?
.

At that moment, the sun was still descending into the sky, the little light that shone on the forest was snuffed out by a sudden darkness that appeared out of nowhere. As I looked into the sky, I saw thousands of crows hovering in the sky like a tidal wave. I was so shocked that I was left speechless, just how did the crows gather around so fast?
.

Dark Christen ➡ Any last words kid?
.

Akin ➡ I will not hesitate to strike you down if you keep doing this.
.

Dark Christen ➡ I’m tired of your talk. It’s time for my babies to feed on you. (snaps fingers)
.

In that sudden moment, the crows began to make their horrible noises which echoed the atmosphere. At first, I thought they were screaming just like that but I was wrong. Shortly after they had voiced out their horrible voices, the crows began to descend towards me all together in their massive number. I knew what I had to do but something strange occured. Just as I was about use the staff, it began to tremble in my hands as if it was trying to move away from me. I held it tightly with all my might and aimed towards the crows trying to disperse them with lightning but then as I was about to do that, I felt weak all of a sudden.
Before I knew it, I fell on my knees feeling more and more weak but it didn’t take me long to figure out what was happening to me. Using the grasses I stepped on, my step-mother used that as funnel to drain me of my life force.

Dark Christen ➡ (laughs) What’s the matter boy?
.

Akin ➡ Why are you doing this? This isn’t you! Do you think dad would want you when he finds out what you did? He would dump you without a seconds thought.
.

Dark Christen ➡ What did you say? WHAT DID YOU SAY?
.

Akin ➡ Keep this up and your relationship with dad will be over.
.

And that was it. My step-mother screamed out with rage as I said that but she didn’t stop there, she began to manipulate all the crows descending towards me making them swirl in the sky like a tornado that was about to hit. After that, she then began to make the trees around me tight me down hard and at the same time forcing them to drain my life force faster than ever. I felt like I was going to die but I knew I had to do something fast.
