I closed the door đȘ. Whatâs he doing here?
âWhy arenât you opening the door?â Mom asked.
âIâŠ..hunâŠ..â
âKellyâ.
â It was nothing. Just the milk deliveriesâ.
âI never order any milkâ.
â IâŠ.. I didâ.
âThank God. Just give me the milk. I wanna make some chocolate puddingâ. The door bell rang again.
â IâŠ.â.
âOpen the door Kellyâ.
â Sureâ. I opened it. This time, he was with his mom. âNice to meet you maâam. Come inâ.
â Sureâ. Harrell and his mom came in.
âLydiaâ. Mom hug his mom.
â Iâm so sorry Iâm late. I went to get some things from the mallâ.
âYou donât have to. Come and help me outâ.
â I would love toâ. She left. Now Harrell and I were starring at each other.
âWhereâs the milk Kelly!â Mom shouted.
âIâŠ. Just in a secondsâ.
â Are you going out?â It was Harrell momâs.
âYes. To get some milkâ.
â Harrell follow herâ.
âWhat?â I was confused.
âIt might be too dangerous for you to go out alone. There are drunkards and thugs everywhereâ.
â IâŠ.. Sure thanksâ. I left.
âWhat a coincidenceâ. He broke the silent. I couldnât talk. â Youâve a nice momâ.
âErâŠ. Thanksâ.
â You didnât told her right?â
âI think it will be better for us not to talkâ.
â Why?â
âBecauseâŠâŠ. Iâm allergic to noiseâ. He burst out into a laugh. â Whatâs so funny?â
âYou arenât a good liar. Maybe thatâs why you didnât tell herâ.
â Itâs my decision to tell her or not. So donât interfere with my lifeâ.
âI never did that. It was just a questionâ.
â Then donât ask me any questionâ. I frown and he laugh.
âI like youâ. I think that word really struck my ear like a lightening. I could watch his mouth move. â Hello. Are you hearing me?â
âWhat?â I was brought back to normal.
âWhat were you thinking?â
âNothingâ.
â You arenât smart are you?â
âSome people says Iâm notâ.
â Well, they didnât lieâ.
âI think Iâve had enough time listen to your nonsenseâ. I entered the mall. Took a bottle of milk and paid for it.
â I___â
âJust shut upâ. I cut him short and he smiled.
â I like you Kellyâ. There my heart goes again. âYou arenât shyâ.
â Why would I be?â I knew I was blushing cause I could feel it.
âSo many girls are always shy around me. They are afraid to talk freely with meâ.
â Thatâs because Iâm not like themâ.
âI guess youâre a bad liar afterall. Youâre blushing Kellyâ.
â Whatâ. I covered my face. âLeave meâ. I ran so fast.
Weâd finished eating dinner.
â Youâve a good daughterâ. Harrell mom said.
âThanksâ. Mom said. â She has always been a good girlâ.
âWeâll get going thenâ. They stood up.
â Sure. Iâll see you later Lydiaâ.
âSure. Nice meeting your familyâ.
âMy pleasureâ. They left. â Do the washing Kellyâ
âSureâ. I frown.
â Mom lookâ. Julia shouted. âMy teeth are growing backâ.
â Awww. Thatâs so cute. Just donât eat much chocolate đ« or youâll make them fall offâ. She nodded. âNow letâs go to bedâ. They left.
â I guess thatâs goodnight đ â. Charlie got up. âBye. See you in the morning đâ. He left.
âArenât you going to bed?â I said to Wayne while I start packing the dishes.
âComeâ. He pull me to his room. â I got you somethingâ.
âWhatâs it?â
âItâs a surpriseâ
âI love surprisesâ. I smiled.
â Well, how about a knockâ. He knock on my head so hĂŠrd.
âOuchâŠ.. Wayneâ.
â Sorryâ. He smiled. âI thought you said you love surprisesâ.
â If youâre here to joke with me, you got the bad timeâ. I left.
Nightmare. Bad one of course. I could see men fighting with swords killing eachother and horses neightening. Then a man with a face covered with mask got down from his horse. Looks like he wanted to kill someone. Then the slash of his sword â woke me up. I was sweating profusely. I switch on the light. It was the same nightmare Iâve been having since I was a kid. Then my eyes caught something. It was a guitar đž.
âOh myâ. I carried it. â Itâs beautiful â. There was a note hung to it. It says âfor you little sisâ. I smiled. I already knew it was from Wayne.
I was dressed for school. Belle told me my suspension was taken back. How luck Iâm.
â What we having for breakfast mom?â I asked.
âNoodles đ. Julia asked for itâ.
â Momâ
âI canât help itâ.
â Wayne and Charlie are gonna kill youâ. I start making coffee â.
âIâll get it into their headâ.
âIâm not gonna eat noodlesâ. I opened the fridge and brought a COLA with hamburger đ. â Iâm gonna eat this and if Wayne woke up, tell him I said thanksâ.
âThanks for whâŠ..â. I was already out of the door.
Well, all the students gazes were still on me. Itâs not like I was the real cultprit.
â Itâs so good to see youâ. Belle said hugging me.
âMe too. What has happened while I was awayâ.
â Well, thereâs a rumourâ.
âIâm not gonna hear that. Iâm sick of stupid rumoursâ. I closed my locker.
â I got to get to classâ.
âHear me out Kelly. The rumour are trueâ.
â Iâll love to borrow your notes after classâ.
âYou arenât listening. Are you?â
âNo. Iâve spend much time listening to nonsenseâ.
â Then will you believe it if I told you it was Harrell who saved youâ. I stopped and looked at Belle.
âYou got to be kidding meâ.
â Itâs true. Itâs all over the schoolâ.
âWhy would he do that for me?â
âWhy would he do that for you?â She stared at me.
âDonât get the wrong idea. Iâve to goâ. I left.
It was lunch time. I was at the cafeteria eating lunch with Belle. Then Harrell stepped in. As usual, there were noise everywhere, girls giggling, some were even taking pictures of him.
â Isnât he so cute todayâ. I looked at Belle. It seems she was drunk in his beauty.
âYou better come back to your senseâ. I dipped into my food and start eating.
â Heyâ. Iâve knew that voice for long and it was no other person than Harrell. I looked up at him. He was smiling. Suddenly, my heart start to flutter.
âYou cameâ.
â Kellyâ. Belle shooked me back to reality.
âOh. Hiâ.
â Well, weâll talk laterâ. He left.
âWhat was that about?â Belle stared at me.
âIâve no ideaâ. I blink.
â Oh my God. Kelly, he just talked to you. He even said youâll talk laterâ.
âJust shut up and letâs eatâ. I smiled.
â Wow. Iâm jealousâ.
I was in my room. Thinking about Harrell of course. I looked into the mirror. I was pretty but not to the extent of other girls. Malyvn high school got a lot of pretty, cute and sâŹĂy chicks but I wasnât one of them.
âI donât careâ.
â Of course you donâtâ. Someone spoke. I wasnât alone. Thereâs an intruder in my room. I could hear my heartbeat. I was getting scared. I took the fruit knife đȘ for defense.
âWhoâre you?â There was no answer. âI know youâre here somewhereâ. Suddenly, I turned back.
â Booâ. I shrieked and fell. âOh my. I didnât mean to scared you your highnessâ. He pulled me up. âYouâre prettier than I expectedâ.
