Mrs Peterson carefully switched the drugs, both drugs looked almost the same and it would only take a very observant medical practitioner to distinguish them
The only difference was that one was calcium ( a drug that strengthens the bones in the body and aids the healing of broken bones) while the other was chlonisterate inhibitor ( a drug meant for people with Alzheimer’s, if a normal person takes this drug, it could cause severe complication like memory loss, amnesia and severe weakness)
She heard a knock on the door and she hastily hid the calcium in the drawer
” yes, come in ”
She said and a smartly dressed nurse came in,side, it was actually the nurse she assigned to take care of Erica, Erica’s mom had been busy showering her with prayers for being such a good hearted woman to take care of her daughter.
If only she knows the plans she has for her so called daughter
“MA, you said I should inform you anytime I want to give drugs to the patient in ward 42″
” yes, mix this calcium with her drugs so her fingers can heal faster ”
The nurse twitched her brows in surprise, wondering why the owner of the hospital would be so concerned about the welfare of a patient, it was unethical for someone else to prescribe drugs besides the doctors assigned for each cases.
” but ma. Doctor Cole is the one in charge of injuries like this..
The doctor faltered miserably as she saw the angry glare in Mrs Peterson’s eyes
” do you know I can fire you and make sure you don’t get a job in any other hospital ”
” I’m sorry MA ”
The nurse pleaded, this job had been such a great opportunity for her and she knows how connected the Peterson’s are, she knows Mrs Peterson can ruin her with just a snap of her fingers.
” give this drugs to her and let this conversation remain a secret between us ”
” yes ma ”
The nurse bows awkwardly and scurried out of the office with the drugs in her hands
She checked the time, she would visit the patient in two hours time to change the bandages on her fingers and give her the drugs
In the room, Mrs Peterson felt a cold chill, as if something was about to go wrong, terribly wrong
She remembers the conversation she had with her husband the previous night
” darling, since you’ve cleverly manipulated Viktor to go to the UK, don’t you think it’s time to tell him about his sister, perhaps the news could cheer him up a little, he looks like a shadow of himself these days ”
” no! I don’t want him to know his sister”
She had argued back, although she had been unable to adopt Viktor’s sister—it wasn’t like she adopted Viktor out of the goodness of her heart —- but she had been there when Viktor’s sister was adopted, she had left her signature too as a trustee

Sasha headed to school, she caught a glimpse of Keith and she was tempted to call him again and explain things to him,
the video had affected her a lot, she had been summoned almost every day to the principal’s office and she would have been expelled if not for her parents connections in the school
but she had the feeling that it affected Keith more and the fact that the wh0le school already knew about thier relationsh¡p made things worse
They gossiped about her, the gossips were so cruel and so loud that it got to her ears but she could hide how hurt she felt with her mask of indifference
She knew how bad the taunts were, she knew how much they taunted him and called him a pr-stitute’s boyfriend and every single time they called him bad names, he would only turn to stare at her and she’ll feel her mask slipping off, she’ll feel the tears trickling down her face but Erica had always been there to comfort her but now Erica is now in the hospital, battling with the same kind of pain she was battling with.
She made a mental note to go to the Peterson’s house once school ends
Her face however breaks into a smile as she saw Shanaya, her long black hair was in a disarray, her appearance scared her a bit, she couldn’t stop wondering what kind of personal demons the girl might be dealing with, she was holding a piece of paper in her hands and as soon as she saw her she handed the note to her
” where’s Tori and Erica”
” um you were not in school yesterday so you didn’t know Erica was injured two days ago, she’s at the Peterson’s hospital and Tori um she might have stopped to check on Erica in the hospital ”
Shanaya didn’t wait for her to finish before dashing off in the opposite direction
” wait! Do you even know the Peterson’s hospital!!! ”
Sasha yelled and Shanaya stopped
” I’ll take you there ”
Sasha said and the Two of them began the long walk to the hospital, she was sure that the assembly would be over by the time they get back to the school but they didn’t care.

Erica tried to open her eyes, she felt someone gently tapping her and she opened her eyes to see the nurse that was in charge of her ward.
Unlike most nurses, the nurse was kind and patient, always wearing a bright smile on her face
” how’s your finger dear ”
” um it’s getting better ”
Her finger was getting better but her heart was a mess, she wished there was a kind of drug that could cure this pain in her heart, the pain that Viktor caused.
” it’s time to take your drugs ”
The nurse said holding some drugs and a glass of water
Erica hated those drugs it smells awful, the smell almost makes her retch, but she took the endures it so she can quickly get well and deal with those awful girls, she took the drug, it turned out to be calcium, one of the drugs that actually tastes good and she decided to chew it instead but what surprised her was the taste, it didnt have a milky and sugary taste, it tastes horrible
But immediately she took the drugs she felt faint, light headed and she didn’t know when the glass fell from her right hand
The nurse paled in fright as Erica’s limp body fell on the bed and she dashed to Mrs Peterson’s office, pounding furiously on the door and she was surprised when Mrs Peterson only said cooly
” come in ”
” MA! The drugs..the girl… She’s dying… She slumped over… ”
” I’ll go and check up on her you may go and attend to your other duties ”
Her guess about the drug was accurate but it seemed like the drugs was even more powerful than she thought
“but ma…”
” I said get out!!!! ”
Mrs Peterson shouted and she watched the nitwit of a nurse scurry out of the hospital
Erica felt pain, deep and intense pain, her head felt heavy like it was five times it’s actually weight she wanted to scre-m but she was too weak to scre-m

She muttered weakly and she felt releived as Mrs Peterson walked gracefully in
” oh poor girl! How are you feeling ”
The pain was increasing with each second and she could no longer hold it in, hot tears flooded her face
” pain..
” yes that’s right, I know you’re feeling pain and you’re going to feel this pain for a long.. Long time, don’t worry by tomorrow you wouldn’t even remember that I had this conversation with you , I asked that nurse to give you that drug on purpose ”
Erica dilated her pupils in shock for the first time in her life she felt totally helpless, and the tears continued to spill from her face, she wanted to scre-m, why does Mrs Peterson hate her so much why did she save her only to torture her this way.
It was too much for her to bear, she felt it the moment Shanaya entered, she felt the arrival of a dark kind of energy
Mrs Peterson paled at the appearance of shanaya, she had seen the girl once and it had been on the television, she could still remember how the girl had snapped the handcuffs into pieces
There was something in the girl’s stare that made her tremble, while the brown haired girl fussed over Erica with tears in her face, the girl only looked at her accusingly and landed her a slap, a slap that made her dizzy
” security!.. ”
Mrs Peterson managed to shout
Shanaya loosened the tubes attached to Erica’s fingers, she didn’t know why she felt compelled to slap that woman
All she knew was that she needed to take Erica far away from this place
” Shanaya she’s crying, she’s crying she’s not saying anything ”
Sasha shouted
Shanaya effortlessly carried Erica in her hands, Mrs Peterson was still holding her cheek in pains
The security officers blocked her path, ten dangerous looking men

” miss! Drop that girl immediately, she’s
Still under treatment ”
She ignored him and proceeded to carry her out when one of them brings out an heavy metal
The color of her eyeballs changed immediately, to a flaming green color that made the man drop his weapon
She carefully placed Erica on the floor before turning to face those men
They brought out a device, shanaya knows this device was used to electrocute people
Bad mistake!
She sinked her nails into his hands and the device fell from his hands
” security please don’t let her escape do everything you can to catch her ”
Mrs Peterson yelled
Sasha opened her mouth in shock as she stood back to watch Shanaya in all her dark protective glory
Shanaya gnarled, she wasn’t just fighting these men, she was fighting her demons too, the demons that could make her turn against her friends
But no matter what
She was taking Erica away from this hospital tonight!!!!
