I was shocked when I saw Nelly. She walked close to me and was about giving me a hug when Esther blocked her.

What do you think your doing, Esther asked her and Nelly laughed.

Get out from my way girl, can’t you see I want to give Junior’s daddy a hug, Nelly said.

What do you want Nelly, I asked.

You, she said. I just want you, all of you, she replied smiling.

You can’t have me, I’m sorry, I said.

Yes I know I can’t, but now that i’m carrying your baby, I’ll have you, she said.

Can we talk about this in,side, I said, feeling defeated.

I was wondering if you’ll keep me outside forever, she said, pushing Esther and entering into the house.

I’ll see you soon okay, I said to Esther, hugging her.

Be careful okay, she’s psychotic, she said, breaking the hug.

I’ll be fine, I said, entering in,side.

Why is your bed so scattered, did you enter Ikuku last night, Nelly asked, immediately I entered into the house.

And how’s that your business, i said.

Oh, deary dear, it’s my business now, because this is my new home, no, our new home, she said, touching her tummy.

Nelly, your not pregnant for me, I said. And even you are, I’m not responsible for it, I added.

You’re not serious, have you forgotten when you poured everything in,side Ikuku, ehn, have you forgotten, she asked.

I’m not denying the fact that I poured everything in,side but do you remember the juice I gave you that morning, I asked and she nodded. I added contraceptives to it, so there’s no way you can be pregnant.

I could see how shocked and surprised she was.

Your trying to tie me down with pregnancy right, I asked. You can’t have me Nelly, you can’t have me no matters what you do, I said. My life would have known peace, if I had just turned down your father’s invitation. But I regret nothing, I take full responsibilities for my actions, I added.

All that one you’re saying, is entering me here and coming out her, she said, demonstrating with her hand. Here’s the test result, she said handing me an envelope.

I told her I don’t need it, that she should wait for me to change into something appropriate, that we’ll be going to that hospital together for the test.

I want to use the toilet, be ready before I come out, she said, entering into the bathroom.

I was about going to my closet to search for clothes, when a message entered Nelly’s phone, which she had dropped on the bed.
I picked up the phone and saw it wasn’t locked, the message was from someone called Mike, so I opened the message and it read “Is the plan working, have you gotten him to believe he’s responsible, I don’t want to be a father yet, tie it on him. Shey we’ll still be having fun. Do fast and come over, I’m horny, I even dropped some messages on WhatsApp for you, I love you”

Immediately I finished reading the SMS, I wanted going into that bathroom and beating Nelly up, but another plan came into my head and I smiled

I picked up her phone again and screenshoted the SMS, I also opened her WhatsApp and saw messages that really got me pissed, but i forsook it for the sake of the plan I had. The plan was to have evidence, just in case she plan to double-cross me.

I screenshoted everything and sent it to my phone. After sending it, I deleted the screenshots from her phone, and kept her phone in the same position, I saw it.

I ran to my closet immediately and brought out a black joggers and a white Polo and wore it.

Madam your taking so long in there, I said, immediately I dressed up.

I’m coming, she shouted, from the bathroom.

Oya I’m ready, let’s go, she said, the moment she stepped out from the bathroom.

Alright, I said.

She picked her phone from the bed, and stretched her hand to hold me. I can walk, I told her and she scoffed.

She walked towards the door and I followed her behind. Immediately she stepped outside, I bounced my door and locked it ( all this is part of the plan).

She yelled and yelled and yelled, till she couldn’t yell anymore. I was just in,side, sleeping on my bed and laughing.

I came out after an hour and thirty minutes, and found out she had gone. I sat down on my chair outside and still continued laughing.

It wasn’t long, before I turned and saw Nelly coming into my compound, with some Police officer, in their Hilux.

Episode 20

They driver drove directly to my house and parked.

I was just sitting down laughing.

That’s him officers, that’s him, Nelly yelled to them immediately the came down from the Hilux.

Young man your under arrest for denying and threatening this young lady here, whom we got to know she’s carrying your child, said one of the officers. You’re to follow us gently to the station and anything you say or do may be used against you in the court of law, He added.

I smiled and stood up from my chair, locked my door and went to them.

One of them opened the door for me and I sat down. Three sat with me at the back, Nelly was in front with the driver, while the rest sat at the back of the Hilux.

We left my compound and the driver drove directly to the station. On arriving to the station, Nelly’s parent and Daisy were already there waiting.

I came down from the car and some of the officers *walked behind me. I kept smiling till we got into the station. Immediately we got into the station, Nelly’s mum rushed to me and slapped me on my cheek. She landed so* me blows on my face and hit my nose. I began bleeding.

The officers rushed to her and dragged her off me, urging her to calm down.

That’s for impregnating my daughter and denying it, Nelly’s mother said, after been dragged away from me. I said it, you looked so perfect, I was always telling my husband to watch out for you, that you can do and undo. You’re so wicked, she added.

l just smiled and use my hand to clean the blood that was flowing from my broken nose. I turned and looked at Nelly’s Dad, I smiled when he turned his face away.

Time for questioning came, and we all sat at the IGP’s office. By then my bleeding nose had been plastered.

So young lady, the IGP said. Tell me the truth, is this young man responsible for your pregnancy, he asked.

Yes sir, he is, Nelly answered boldly and I smiled.

Hmmm Young Man, the IGP called me. Are you responsible for her pregnancy, he asked.

No sir, I’m not, I replied him, immediately, Nelly’s mother stood up and slapped me again, triggering blood to flow again for my nose.

Stop lying you bastard, she yelled.

Madam calm down, or I’ll ask you to leave my office, the IGP, said in a hoarse voice. Tell your wife to calm down, he added, referring to Nelly’s father.

Young lady, the IGP said, turning to Nelly. When you people got laid, did he use protection, he asked.

No sir he didn’t use, and he even came everything in,side, she said firmly.

Is it true young man, the IGP asked turning to me.

Yes sir it is, but I gave her contraceptives in the morning sir, I said.

Did he give you any contraceptives, the IGP asked Nelly.

No sir, she replied quickly.

You’ve heard her, the IGP said to me.

Sir I didn’t give her the contraceptives with my hand, I added it to the juice I gave her in the morning, I said.

The fact now is that, she’s saying she didn’t take any contraceptives neither did you give it to her, The IGP said. I’m afraid this case will be taken to court, he added.

That won’t be necessary sir, I said, bringing out my phone. Sir pls I’ll like to show you something, I said handing him my phone. Sir those pictures are screenshots I took from her phone, and sir please I’ll like her to give you her phone, to go through some messages, she has from a contact of hers named Mike, I added.

I could see shock all over Nelly’s face, and confusion on her parent face.

Young woman, may I have your phone, the IGP said, and she reluctantly gave him to phone. Unlocked it, he said firmly and she did.

Young Man, you said which of her contact, the IGP asked and I told him Mike. After going through the messages, he now played the voice note, to our hearings.

Immediately the voice note ended, Nelly’s mother rushed to me and got on her knees pleading.

Sargeant chidi, Sargeant ebere, the IGP shouted.

Yes sir, the both Sargeant responded immediately the got into his office.

Take this young lady here, do Everything possible for her to tell you the location of a person called Mike, then go bring him here, the IGP said to them, and they saluted.

Young woman let’s move, Sargeant chidi said to Nelly, and she went out with them.

Thirty minutes after they had left, we heard noise coming from outside. We all went out, including the IGP to where the noise was coming from. We found the two Sargent dragging a young man, not too older than me, to the station.

He was busy shouting “it wasn’t me, she was the one that came up with the plan, he pointed at Nelly.

The whole station was in chaos as other officers came out to witness what was happening.

Everybody back to their duty Post, shouted the IGP, and the all ran back to their station. He told the Sargeants to bring him into the station for questioning.

The two Sargeants dragged him into the station and told him to keep quiet and sit down, which he did.

I won’t talk much, oya spill the bean, said the IGP to the young man which I came to know is the Mike.

Mike began revealing everything, when it started and how Nelly came of with a plan of tying the pregnancy down on me.

So he isn’t responsible for the pregnancy, the IGP asked Mike, and he nodded. So who’s responsible, he further asked him.

I’m the one sir, he answered, bowing his head.

The IGP asked Nelly, if she has anything to say, and she couldn’t speak. He then turn to me and said now that I’m innocent, what I’m I going to do.

I want sue her for false accusations and also her mother for assaulting me, I said smiling.

Then so be it, the IGP said, and left to his office.

He came out and told me that the matter has been taken to court and they’ll stand trial in three days times, that I should go and rest for now.

Now for you two, he said looking at Nelly and her mother, you both will be detained here, till the day of trial, He added and walked out.

Nelly and her mother came and knelt down before me, pleading.

I became so sad, looking at their faces, I felt touched by their words, so I bent down and told them “Get out of my way, I have work to attend, and walked out of them.
