☀️ Adrian’s POV☀️
I went back to the living room and sat down on the couch. I took my phone, opened the browser and searched for the best cleaning company in the country; I am Adrian afterall, I need nothing but the best. I came across lots of cleaning companies so I decided to choose anyone of them and I ended up choosing Star cleaning agency. I copied their contact and gave them a call
“Good day, this is Star cleaning agency how may I help you” a lady said from the other side of the phone
“Direct the call to the manager of the agency, I need to speak with him” I said with a tone of finality
“And who are you sir” the lady said probably surprised at the way I spoke
“Alexander Adrian”
“Oh my God, Mr Adrian, it’s an honor speaking to you, I’ve heard alot about you and am a big fan, being so successful at such a young age, I wonder how you did it Mr Adrian” she said in awe and admiration
I sighed, this isn’t a new thing but am not in the mood to play nice Adrian right now “The manager ma’am, direct the call to the manager”
“Oh, am really sorry sir, I got a bit carried away cause I didn’t expect that you’ll be calling our agency. Just a moment lemme direct the call the manager’s office”
Finally, I heaved a sigh of relief as I suddenly heard a husky male voice from the phone “Good day Mr Adrian, this an unexpected call, how can I be of help to you”
At least the manager is going straight to the point “Am in need of a live-in housekeeper”
“Of course, the agency will get you one imediately…”
“Not just anyone, I want the best” I said interrupting him
“Definitely Sir, we’ll send our best to you”
“Good, I’ll send my secretary to your agency so that the paperworks can be done today, and whoever it is you are sending can start tomorrow”
“No problem Sir, it’s an honor that you choosed us for your cleaning service, we won’t let you down”
I muttered a thanks and cut the call. I guess starting from tomorrow I won’t be alone in this big mansion anymore, I wonder who the agency will send. I suddenly heard a voice from the com. device connected to the gate
“Sir, a delivery man is here, he said you ordered for pizza” my security man said from telecom device
“Yes I did, let him in” I said through the telecom. I am already famished, thank God the delivery man is here, with the years I’ve spent on Earth, I’ve come to fall in love with this Earthly food, I guess you can say pizza is one of my favorite food. I stood up from the couch and walked to the door to meet the delivery man, it’s pizza time😋
☀️ Selena’s POV☀️
I ran inside the building and I spotted my friend and colleague, Lissa, speaking with a co-worker, I walked up to them. Imediately she saw me, she stopped talking and looked at me with a concerned face
“Finally Selene, where have you been?, You never come late to work, what happened?”
“It’s nothing Lissa, I hope the manager didn’t ask of me?” I asked trying to change the topic, I really don’t feel like narrating my ordeal to anyone right now, maybe later
“Don’t tell me it’s nothing Selene, I was so worried and you look like you’ve cried for ages. And do get yourself a phone, I would’ve called you but I remembered you are the only 25 year old girl in this 21st century with no phone” she said calmly but it was obvious she was getting angry
“Don’t get mad at me, you know I don’t have the money to buy a phone”

“I guess it’s of no use getting mad at you. Guess what Selene” she said looking all excited
“What?” I asked without the slightest tone of interest
“Mr Adrian called the agency today, he wants a live-in housekeeper” she said with excitement in her voice
“Who is Adrian” I asked and she looked at me like someone that couldn’t believe what she just heard
“Are you kidding me, you mean you don’t know Alexander Adrian?”
“Am I supposed to know him?” I asked with no interest at all, my concern now is my Mom
“Don’t you watch the news at all” she asked still surprised and shocked
“Do I need to?, I hear most of the updates from you and I don’t really have time to sit down and watch the news”
“You are not made for this century Selene” she said shaking her head “You should go back to the 18th century”
“Am not in the mood for your jokes Lissa, just leave me alone”
“Now you must tell me, what’s wrong?, And don’t tell me nothing cause something is definitely wrong” she asked looking serious and concerned
“My Mom, she has been diagnosed with ovarian cancer” I said trying to stop the tears from falling
“Oh my God, I knew something was wrong”
I narrated everything that happened at the hospital to her
“Am so sorry Selene, maybe you should meet the manager to see if you can get a salary advance or probably a loan, ohh I just remembered, the manager actually asked of you”
I looked at her with my eyes wide open “Lissa!!, how could you forget, if I loose my job cause of you I won’t ever forgive you”
“Don’t worry, he won’t fire you, you are one of our best, run along now, go to his office and hear what he have to say” she said motioning me to move forward
I looked at her and sighed, this girl can be so unbelievable. I quickly started running towards the the manager’s office. I reached the door, adjusted my cloth and took a deep breath, then I knocked
“Come in”
I took another deep and opened the door
“Good morning sir” I greeted as I entered his well furnished office
“It’s afternoon Miss Martin, why were you so late today, this is so unusual of you”
“Am sorry Sir, my Mom was sick I had to rush her to the hospital”
“Oh, sorry for that Selena, I hope she’s doing better now?” He asked with a concerned look
“Not really, she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and she’s on admission” I said trying to stop myself from tearing up
“Oh my God, that’s bad. I guess you won’t be able to go for the job I have for you then”
“What job Sir” I asked with interest
“Mr Adrian, he needed a live-in housekeeper and I thought you should go for it cause the pay is very good, but I guess it isn’t possible now” he said looking dissapointed
“How much is the pay sir” I asked with hope
“5 hundred thousand dollars”
What!!, That’s like half of a million, half of the money I must get today “I’ll go Sir, I’ll go for the job, I can be visiting my mom in the hospital whenever am free, I promise it won’t affect my performance on the job”
“Are you sure you can take the job?” He asked still looking concerned
“Yes sir. Umm sir, when will I get the pay”
“Today as a matter fact, cause you’ll be moving there tomorrow. You should go to the personnel department there are some paperworks for you to sign”
Perfect!, I have no problem with going tomorrow as long as I get the pay today, no problem at all “Okay Sir, thank you” I bowed a little as I turned to leave his office
“Selena” he suddenly called
“Yes sir” I said as I turned back
“You should be careful with him, I heard he’s a bit rude”
Well who cares, as long as I get my pay I’ve got no problem with his rudeness ” okay sir, thanks” then I turned and left the manager’s office
As I walked to the personnel department, a smile crept in to my face, I can’t believe I got half a million in such a short period. I wonder how it’s going to be like, living with the rude Mr Adrian.
