I looked down feeling pains again. Those painful feelings started flooding through my head all over again.
“Talk to me my dear. I’ve been noticing you all this while. You looks gentle and calm but something is behind it.” He said again…
I turned around backing him….I folded my arms around me.
“Hmm…. Doctor Richærd, my story…do you really wanna know it this night?” I asked feeling tears welled up in my eyes.
“Yes, everything my dear nurse.” He said.
“My dream is to marry a doctor no matter what. Every guy that came to woo me, I’ll ask him if he’s a doctor or a doctor to be. It goes on and on as I couldn’t find anyone to date as a doctor.
All of a sudden, a guy came to my life claiming himself as a doctor. I gave in without asking anything about him since he’s a doctor.
He asked for s€×, I first declined but later agreed. We had s€× over and over and one day I started feeling somehow. Went to the hospital, and the doctor confirmed I’m pregnant..this pregnancy I’m carrying two days to my graduation. And it’s what I’ve been battling with ever since then. My dad hasn’t forgive me yet. It’s also adding to my pains.” I said and i bursted into fresh tears.
He came closer and held my shoulders…I felt a little uneasy about his closeness.
“It’s alright. At least, you’re here hale and hearty. You’ll be fine, okay? Keep calm. After all you got lovely people around you. Be happy. I’m here. I’ll be here for you anytime.” He said.
“Thank you doctor. I’m grateful.” I said smiling and wiped my tears and turned around facing him now.
“It seems something triggered this your painful feelings up tonight.” He said.
It seems this guy is reading me like an open book.
“Yes, that pregnant woman in there we attended to earlier. I’m feeling his pains. It’s as if I’m the one on that bed. I was thinking and wondering how mine will be. Husband, I don’t have. Boyfriend, I don’t have. Girlfriend, the only one I have is Hannah, she’s also a nurse…so what if my delivery date is her shift day? My mum, is also a nurse… I’m thinking the same thing… I’m confused. And I don’t have friends other than Hannah.” I said again.
“It’s okay dear. I understand. Just think of a way to make daddy forgives you. Your delivery day will be smooth. I promise to be there for you always. We’re cool, okay?” He said and I nodded wiping my tears again.
I felt soft and warm. I felt okay.
He gave me a friendly hug.
“Doctor Richærd…your attention is needed sir.” A nurse said.
“Oh.. alright. I’m coming.” He said and left.
I breath in and out feeling new. It’s really good to speak out but only to people that will understand how you’re feeling.
I drank some water again and left the rooftop to the main building.
Miraculously, the woman who has been in labor for days now gave birth successfully. What a wonderful God! This even makes me more happy. As I marked down the day.

A month to my due month….a month to my delivery date…
Doctor Richærd and Hannah has been of a great help to me. Whenever we’re not on shift, ’cause we do have our holiday every Thursday and Saturday. We don’t go to work on Sunday except there’s any emergency on our patients. Hannah do have hers every Saturday and Sunday alone.
So, whenever we are all in our leisure time, both doctor Richærd and Hannah will come to my house to chat,talk and play. I was never left alone.
Hannah,the silly girl she is always tells me that something is about to happen between I and doctor Richærd due to our closeness right after opening up to him.
“I guess you’re not that serious. How do you expect someone that’s single to love me, an expecting mother of a runaway father. In his early life, he will now have feelings for me? Who does that!” I would always tell her.
But she wouldn’t listen. So I left her alone and I’ll always keep quiet whenever she’s talking about it.

My salary is a mouthwatering amount. I save and save a lot. I opened a little supermarket and as God will have His way…he makes it grew larger and it brings more income. In my little age I’m already a wealthy woman.
I was able to bought a house for myself. Before I moved in, I went to tell my parents.
I told Hannah and doctor Richærd about it.
“I’d be visiting my parents to tell them about the house I just bought.” I told them one day when we’re all present at my place.
“That’s a good idea. Come on! You made a great decision. Telling them will makes them know you count them worthy and who knows daddy might forgive you if he heard about it.” Doctor Richærd said.
“Great idea like our doctor has said!” Hannah said.

“Good morning ma. Morning sir.” I said as I visited them that early morning that I was free. Not on any shift.
My mum was so glad to see me after many months. Although,we do call and she heard about my supermarket as well. She sometimes visit me there whenever I’m less busy.
“Morning my daughter. Welcome darling.” My mum said.
Dad who was on seat made to stood up after I greeted him.
“Haha… isn’t you that Grace is greeting? You’re putting her in a tight s₱0t,you know? After all, she realized her mistakes and has begged you. My dear, sit down and let’s hear her speak. She’s here for the first time after many months.” Mummy said heartbroken by Dad’s action.
He looked at me and then to mum and sat down.
“Thank you Daddy.” I muttered softly.
“We can hear you now, my daughter.” Mummy said.
“Mummy, Daddy… I’m here to appreciate your efforts on me in making me who I am today. Your prayers and advices keeps me going although I made a great mistake. I’m sorry about that too. It wasn’t my fault, I was stupid but I’ve made up my mind to be the Grace I was, before I fell into that temptation. I’m sorry mum. I’m sorry dad.” I said on my knees looking from mum to dad…
