MARY POV
I walked down the streets to my home, feeling a bit strange.

Why was my heart beating fast when that rude jerk held me to him.

That have never happened to me before, it’s some thing that still puzzles me,I thought as I kept on walking,I didn’t notice James standing in front of the house until he spoke.

“I can see that you are back!”he said

“What are you doing here?”I asked starring at him

“Who was that guy?”he asked making me remember the rude jerk from earlier.

If I want to know if some thing is happening to me,now is the right time to confirm,I thought starring at James.

“I just asked you a……..”he stopped when I walked into his arms and give him a hug

“Just stay still I have to confirm some thing”I said holding onto him.

It wasn’t beating fast, it beating at its normal pace, feeling better,I let go of James.

Nothing is wrong with me or my heart, I thought happily

“That has been confirmed”I said giving James a smile.

“Am sorry that I borrowed your……..oh my goodness!!!”I yelled when James pulled me to him

“I also have to confirm some thing”he said as he held me tight in his arms.

“James people are starring at us”I said trying to pull free but he held me more tightly

“Let them, I haven’t finish confirming”He said as he put his l-ips on my neck

“I haven’t finished yet!”he said again.

“Get a room will you!”some one yelled and quickly I pulled away from him.

“What are you doing?” I asked and he gave me a smile

“I also had to confirm some thing!”he said

“What ever you had to confirm doesn’t mean you had to hold me like that”i said

“But you held me a while ago”he said

“It doesn’t mean a thing”I said quickly

“But it meant some thing to me “he said and I stared at him

“Look have had enough of you messing with me, just go now!”I said as I began to head in.

“Will you give me your number?”he ask

“Of course not!”I said

“Then I will be seeing you at school, I look forward to it”he said and I gave him an angry look and went into the house.

“Just what is that guy problem”I muttered as I went to stand by the window to peel at him.

He was getting into his car while the people who recognise him took pictures of him.

He is a rich idol, so why the hell does he keep on lingering around me,I thought.

JACK POV
“Where are we going Jack!”she asked as I kept driving

“Some where,it’s a surprise!”I said

“Can you tell me where it is, I don’t like surprises”she said

“You will know soon”I replied giving her a smile.

“Oh you are some thing!”she said as she grew silent.

Seeing her this way makes me happy, even though she has gone through a lot, she had brought up her child to be a very beautiful one and she her self became a very good mother.

I stopped in front of a well known restaurant and we both got off together.

“My pay check for two months won’t be enough for this restaurant, you must be very very rich now”she said as she walked in with me

“I was always rich “I replied

“Show off”she said giving me a smile

We were taken to our table and she stared around in awe

“Don’t you think it’s too expensive, let’s just leave, I know where they cook good food and sell at a ch…..”

“Let’s just order”I said cutting her off

“Okay, I warned you, am going to order the most expensive food here,”she said starring at the menu.

I sat watching her and I couldn’t get enough, knowing that Max is back has been troubling me,so much.

She says she hates him but who knows she might still have some feeling for him and that is why am not going to give her up,she ran away from me the last time but I won’t let that happen now.

“We came as you’ve requested”Beatrice said as she and Brenda walked towards us.

Andrea stopped looking at the menu and she stared at me first before starring at the two who were now looking at her

“I can’t believe this!”Beatrice said

“Is she who I think she is?” Brenda asked

“Beatrice, Brenda,it’s me”Andrea replied with tears and the three hugged not minding if other guest were staring at them

And so the renuion session began and I sat starring at the three females, its just like the past, while we will all seat together like this to talk.

And am happy to see Andrea glowing as she talked to the two.

Very soon that face will be glowing for me,I won’t lose her to Max or to any one, I just won’t!, I thought as I kept on starring at her.

ANDREA POV
“I can’t believe that Brenda is the mother of three kids”I said as I stared at picture of Brenda twelve year old,her nine year old and her five year old children

“Right after she finished college she got married to her long time boyfriend” Jack said as he drove me back home.

“What about Beatrice, I know that she has a baby girl but she never mentioned having any husband ?”I asked

“Well that jerk is a no good, she got married to him two years ago and that was because she got pregnant, you can say that it’s some thing of a forced marriage!”I said

“Beatrice got pregnant and her father forced her to marry the father?”I asked

“Yup, she had to suffer his beating, his infidelity, his insults, back then I had almost smashed his face but Beatrice stopped me, she loved him but he he never loved her ,she finally came to her senses a year ago and she dumped the bastard and i can say that is the best thing she has ever done “he said

“I wish I had been there for her!”I said sadly.

“It doesn’t matter now, it’s all in the past and Beatrice is now happy “he said as he stopped right in front of my house.

We got down and I went towards him and gave him a quick k-ss on the cheek

“Thanks for today, you really made my day” I said and turned to leave but he pulled me back and gave me a k-ss too but on the l-ips.

I tried to pull away but he held me tight and plunge deeper and when he had his fill he let go of me

“Why did you do that!”I asked

“I wanted you to know how I feel”he said

“Jack I……”

“I love you, have always loved you Andrea, not for once did I forget you, you are the reason why I never got married,I was hoping that this day will come for us to reunite and it did happen”he said

“Oh Jack you are making me feel guilty !”I said

“I just want to tell you how I feel,I want you to know that I still love you!”he said

“But Jack am not ready to commit my self to some one else”I said

“Not even now that Max is back !”he said so sudden that I looked at him

“What?”,

“He is back, he along with his wife and son!”he said

“So he got married!”I said softly

“Yes he did, he moved on years ago,the child he has with Rose is the same years of age with Mary, When you were pregnant and was alone with his child, he was with Rose giving her all the love and care that should have been given to you”he said and he made me remember the months that I carried Mary, those months were filled with pain and anguish, some times I had wished that he was there for me but that never happened and I ended up hating him more

“Why are you telling me this Jack”

“So you can see that he is not worth it, he is not worth you being lonely for ever, you have to start a new life, start a new life and be happy,let him see that and regret losing you” Jack said

‘”Shall we just call it a night, Am really tired”I said and didn’t wait for him to give me a reply.

I went into the house and shut the door,not because am angry at Jack but because of Max return.

ANDREA POV
I woke up late and due to that am very late for work.

With my bag and in my heels, I ran into the building.

“Your late Andrea!”the receptionist said as I ran past her

“Some thing occurred”I said as I ran into the office I shared with Cathy and the rest of the workers.

“Andrea you are late!”a colleague asked and i gave the same excuse.

“Where is Cathy?”I asked

“She is in the boss office, I forgot Brianna Is here and she has called for you Cathy, Cathy must have given an excuse for you but you need to go and talk to her?” She said and i nodded and went to the boss office which was the main floor

Brianna had said some thing about us having a new client and that it’s the biggest account we have ever had, Cathy and I being the best interior designer in the house will be given the account but I doubt if I will be given that account now, I thought as I got to Brianna office.

I knocked the door and I heard her asking me to come in.

I walked into the room only to see Brianna on her desk with Cathy with her.

“There is nothing I say that can justify my lateness but am sorry for being late”I begged as I walked to her

“You don’t have to feel sorry, Cathy already told me why you couldn’t make it!”Brianna said giving me a smile and I stared at Cathy wondering what she told her

“It’s about time you had a man in your life, since when have known you Andrea, you have never had a man around you, the only thing you live for is your daughter and your mom but now that there is some one in your life, an happy for you”Brianna said and i stared at Cathy again.

“Okay about the account, the client is on his way and once he gets here,he will tell us what he wants for the house he wants decorated”Brianna said

“Who is he boss? Is he a hot shot ?”Cathy asked and Brianna was unable to answer because her secretary arrived the guest arrival.

“He is here!”Brianna said

I was searching for my note pad and pen when the client walked in, I wasn’t looking up but I did when I heard Cathy say

“Oh my! He is so hand some”.

“Girls I want you to meet Max Winston,the owner of Winston empire”on hearing that too ,I looked up only to see Max walk in

The note pad and pen that I had managed to bring out fell from my hand.

Max stood by the door starring at us or at me in particular

“What’s wrong?” Brianna asked and I turned to look at her

“It’s nothing”I bent to retrieve the book and pen and he did the same too

I stared at him and he did the same, we knelt on the floor staring at each other and if Cathy hadn’t spoke, I would still be starring at him.

“My name is Cathy mark and am at your service”she said

“Permit me to say but you are very handsome”Cathy added and smiled a smile I knew so well

“Believe me when I say that have heard that a lot but thanks for the compliment”he said and turned to look at me

“Introduce yourself!”Cathy whispered to me

“Oh uh! Am Andrea, Andrea Blake and am at your service”I said and he nodded.

“Now that the introduction have been done, let’s talk Business”Brianna said and every one took their seat except me

“Can I use the rest room”I ask and when she gave me the permission, I left the room in a hurry and went straight to the bath room.

I stood in front of the mirror Starring at myself.

I can’t believe that Max is here, I just found out yesterday that he is back but I never expect to meet him again after sixteen years at my place of work.

I was really shocked a lot, I thought as I stared at my shaking hands.

Just then I remembered what I had to go through and my shaking stopped

I had gone through a lot because of him and that makes me hate him.

I shouldn’t be acting this way, after what he did ,he even has the gall to show his face to me.

“Be professional Andrea, he is only here for business”I muttered to myself.

With that decision made, I went back to the room and began to act like a professional.

“The house itself is an apartment I just got, I want the interior design to be perfect”he said starring at me and Cathy.

While Cathy kept on asking him the question,I was jotting down some important part but his last statement got me feeling angry

“Shouldn’t your wife be here to give her opinion sir?”I asked

“What?”

“I mean since the apartment will be where you live with your son and wife, we should have their opinion too”I added

“The apartment will solely be for my use!” He said

“Okay then. Sir!”I answered stretching that sir a bit .

The disscussion came to an end and I left the office with Cathy coming behind me

“Isn’t he is a real hunk?”Cathy asked but I didn’t answer

All I wanted to do was to get back to my office.

“He is,he is my dream man Andrea and if he wasn’t married,I would have thrown my self at him”Cathy continued

The lift doors opened and we got in “what do you think of him Andrea?” She asked again and I couldn’t get to answer her because some stopped the lift doors and it opened.

Max stood there starring at us and he walked in.

I moved back while Cathy whispered to me. “oh he is just so hand some”

“What floor are you girls headed to?”he asked

“Oh it’s the third floor”Cathy said quickly and he pressed on it

“Hope you two can deliver what I ask for?”he said again

“Of course we can, Andrea and I are the best here”Cathy added

“Are you?”he asked starring at me

“I can’t say that am the best but all I can say is that I will do my best to satisfy you sir”I said

The lift door opened and as soon as I got out some one put a bouquet of roses in front of me.

I turned to see Jack and he gave me a smile.

“What are you doing here?”I asked

“To give you this? Am sorry for acting that way last night!”he apologised

“Accept it Andrea, your boy friend bought us all a box of chocolates each, we will feel bad if you don’t accept it”a colleague said

“Just accept it Andrea, he is apologising, I wish I had a man who acts that way”Another said

Some how I found myself starring towards the lift and I saw Max starring at us.

“Why is he here?”Jack asked and i looked at him only to see him starring at Max.

“He is our new client”I said quickly and Jack looked at me

“What?”

“I will explain every thing to you jack but that will be after work, thanks for Rose, let me escourt you “I said giving the Rose to Cathy and quickly I pulled Jack to the other lift.

MAX POV
I had come to Andrea place of work to see her and also to know how she have been fairing but with her behaviour towards me today, I could feel her displeasure at seeing me.

I always expected this from her because I had been cruel to her back then but I didn’t have a choice and I was contented to see her fine but seeing Jack with her got me feeling angry.

I walked out of the company only to see her walking back to the company after having escourt jack.

She began to walk past me but I held her and she pulled off

“Andrea I…..”

“It’s miss, miss Andrea, we are not on close term to be calling each other by our names, sir!” She said

“Okay Miss Andrea I…….”

“If what you are about to say doesn’t pertain to work, then don’t say it, I would rather not listen to it”She said

“It’s been years? Are you still angry about what happened?”I asked

“Angry! Am not angry ,Am just sad, sad because I don’t have the power to quit my job, if I had that power, I would have quit and you want to know why?”she asked moving close to me

“Because I hate the prospect of working with you, I hate it”She said and walked into the building.

“Andrea…..”

“You heard her Max, she hates the prospect of working with you, that only means that she hates you”Jack said as he walked towards me.
