A LONG WALK TO NOTHING Episode 30
Donald stands so rooted and amazed in the room with his hand on his cheek trying to understand if indeed Cecilia hit him, she’s looking at him with no remorse or whatsoever but looking like she wants to do more
“Did you just hit me?” He asks with his voice a little down but Cecilia’s temper has gone off the roof
“That’s just nothing Donald, you can’t just come home and expect to find food on the table when I have work to do….who among us is lazing around here?, we all have work to do to put food on the table”
“Wait! Are we even supposed to argue on whose job it is to cook now Cessy”
“Don’t Cessy me Donald….it’s obvious to me you’ve been wanting to do this for a long time but what do you even do, you’ve never for once helped out with anything around here but you can start with cooking tonight”
“Wait, you expect me to come from Work and hit the kitchen?”
“What’s even wrong with that, it’s not only a woman’s job but I just want you to understand that you can’t just order me around …. I’m not Alexia your stupid wife” Donald is shocked at her words and her tone
“Did….did you just call my wife stupid”
“Yes and Oh! Your ex wife I forgot to add……But guess what, I’m not her, I have a name, I’m Cecilia Adams”
“Of course you’re not Alexia because you’re not even a quarter of what she is….she’s a superwoman”
“Hahahaha now she’s a superwoman now….Hahaha but you’re absolutely right I’m not like her, I can’t be like her and I don’t even want to be like her, not even for a day…. why did you leave her if you know she’s that perfect” he shakes his head
“You know what? I’m out of here, I don’t want to do something I might regret later because if I stay here any minute, I might do it” he starts to walk out but she steps in his face stopping him
“You’re going no where….I thought you were in the mood for this so let’s have it raw…..you wanted a perfect woman didn’t you, a woman of class, a woman who knows what she wants and knows how to get what she wants…. A woman the society moves with, a woman who has her money and a woman who has a great body didn’t you….so here you have it my Darling, she’s right here”
“You know what? You’ve gone bipolar… Let me pass” he tries to shove her aside
“Don’t push me to do what I did twenty years ago Donald…. if I was able to do it back then, I would do it more now in a blink of an eye” Donald is shocked so he holds her arm
“What….did you just say?’ He asks
“I said…… soon my work will resume full-time and maybe then we both can learn to live harmoniously in this jungle”…… she pushes him and walks back to the bed and gets under the cover
“Good night” she says to him and a tear falls on Donald’s face, he knows he just messed up big time but he’s going to correct his mistakes, it’s not too late yet…..he heads down stairs to have a fare amount of whisky

Eddy stands in front of Isabel’s hostel about to knock on the door but it seems he’s getting cold feet, he raises one hand up to knock but decides to walk away
“I can’t do it” he says and just as he’s about to take his first step, the door opens and he turns
“Edmond” Isabel calls surprised
“Hi” he nervously says
“What are you doing here this early, come on in” she leads the way and he walks in
“What do I offer you” she asks
“I’m OK, I’m from home and already had something to eat”
“Are you sure you don’t want anything? Not even water?”
“No I’m fine…..”
“OK” she sits down
“I came here to talk to you Isabel”
“Hope all is well”
“We are fine…..I don’t even know where to start from”
“You can start from the beginning”
“I know, it’s just that I don’t have all the right words to say to you but I can start by saying I’m so sorry for how I treated you the last time”
“It’s cool, I understand, I would have probably done worse if I was in your shoes….I should be the one to say I’m sorry”
“It’s OK I’m here now…….I’m here so we can talk about us, I’ve tried fighting my feelings for you so countless times trying to think of all the available excuses I could think of but nothing seems to work out for me”
“Eddy…”
“Please let me finish….I know I said some hurtful words to you but I’m here to take them back, would you please pretend like it never happened at all” she smiles
“I did that the very first day you said them…..it’s all in the past now, and I’m also cool with us being just friends”
“But I’m not” he says and she looks at him, he gets up from where he’s sitting and goes to sit next to her
“Isabel….. Looks like the more I want to stay away from you, the more I realise I’m so in love with you, I can’t fight anymore…. I was mad at you for not telling me about your aunt and my Dad but it’s alright, it was not your fault” she keeps her eyes fixed on his as she asks him the next question
“Are you sure this is really what you…”
“Ssssshhhh! Don’t talk” he puts his finger in her l-ips
“I love you….and I know you love me too”
“What about your father and my aunt, this can not happen”
“Well it’s already happening but I’m not sacrificing this for any selfish human being…. My Dad is not worth it and neither is your aunt”
“Still I’m scared….”
“But do you love me?” He asks cutting her short
“Yes I do but….your mother”
“Leave Alexia out of this for now….I’ll find a way to break it down to her but I’m Ready for anything….I know Mum will be mad but She’ll come around….. I love you”
“I love you too Eddy” she says and they seal it with a k-ss.

Alexia opens her puffy eyes reluctantly but she closes them back, she’s not only tired but they slept really late, she remember Eddy coming home last evening and she was surprised to hear that he was coming to spend the night at home, just as she and Eddy are getting settled, Liam and Glow walk in on them, it hit her that Eddy and Liam were at it again
“Honey” she calls him surprised and turned to Liam but Glow takes this time to go look for Celine and Eddy also excuses himself, Liam walked and stood in front of her, k-sses her but she never k-ssed him back
“What’s going on” she still asked in her confusion
“I’ve come to pick you up” he said
“At this time? It’s almost 7pm for Lord’s sake”
“I know my love….but we are going”
“Liam, I treasure my sleep and I wouldn’t want to trade it for anything you know that” he smiles and k-sses her again
“Even for my k-sses and touches?” He asked
“What? Go away you devil” she hit him lightly feeling a little embarrassed but Liam makes fun of her face
“Where are we going” she asked
“To my place, just the two of us”
“How can you suggest your house Liam, with that little girl”
“Calm down, that little girl is spending the night here with Celine”
“Must you include Eddy in every plan?”
“He’s our number one fan so you can’t blame me……why don’t you just go in there and change so we can go”……….The evening was a very beautiful one, Alexia remembers Liam treating her like a Queen, the moment they drove in his compound, he packed the car and came to open for her, then he did the unimaginable, he scooped her in his Strong arms and carried her all the way in,side….she felt butterflies in her tummy….what’s more, for the very first time a man cooked for her, Liam got rid of his shirt and only remained in his shot as he made dinner for two, Ale couldn’t keep her eyes off his body, he has the best….. After the delicious food, they watched a movie, danced to two songs and he made her want him more, in the few weeks they have been dating, they had never gone past k-ssing and she’s a little scared, her tummy tighten at the thought of what’s coming….. When he started whispering, she knew it was time so he did it again, he scoops her in his strong arms…. in his arms she felt like a feather…..he heads to his room, Alexia is blown away by how big and how beautiful the room is, there are petals spread all over in the room, candles put all around Ready to be lit, the bed is set with wine, two glasses and some chocolate….. He puts her down
“Let’s take a bath” he whispered as he led her to the big bathtub across……..Ale is stuck, she doesn’t know if she’s comfortable enough to undress in front of this perfect man but he does the unimaginable yet again….. he looks into her eyes as he unbuttons her dress, she closed her eyes with her hands but he slaps her hands
“You look so pretty and beautiful in this body my Darling don’t be shy with me” he assured her and she got the confidence.. The rest is a story you can imagine…. Alexia has never been this satisfied in her life, she married Donald with no experience or whatsoever and she has never felt how great s€× is like…..but with Liam it was different, it’s like he knew her body for a long time now, he knew where to touch and he got her scre-ming the house down…. Thank God Glow wasn’t around……. This morning she forces her eyes to open and she scans the room but doesn’t see him…..her body aches like nothing, she’s not surprised because it’s been Long since the last time she did this….she turns and sees him doing some push ups…. She watches so amazed as she smiles
“Hello…. Good morning” she says
“Good morning sunshine…. You’re awake now” Liam says coming to her, he k-sses her and sits down next to her
“How was your night?” He asks
“Incredible…. But my body aches like hell”
“Sorry I did this to you….” She sits up
“What’s the time now?” She asks
“It’s coming to 10am”
“10 what?…. The children”
“Ssssshhhh relax! I talked to Eddy and he says he made breakfast before he left, and Glow is a big girl now” Alexia calms down
“I made you breakfast….let me serve you” he’s about to get up but she holds his hand
“Liam……I love you” she says and he sits back
“If Mirabel had time to have a dying wish, I’m sure it would have been that I marry a woman who would love me enough to mother my daughter…. I’m so glad I have that woman now Alexia, I love you….. I adore you and I forever will” she nods and k-sses him
“Will you ever cheat on me like Donald did?” She asks
“Huh!”
“Will you Liam?”
“Well you can’t blame me if there is two of you Ale” she laughs and hits his strong chest as he laughs too………
Eddy is back in his hostel, he’s getting settled but there is a knock at his door
“Not you guys” he thinks it’s his two friends so he walks to the door, he opens the door and takes a deep breath
“Papa”
“May I? Donald asks and Eddy steps aside as Donald walks in
” looks like you just got back here ” he says as he sits down
“I spent the night out….can I get you something to eat please”
“If you can make a quick tea, breakfast would do” Eddy nods and walks to the kitchen, he comes back with a tray carrying breakfast for his father…. He looks at his father eating like he’s been starving
“What brings you here?” He asks his father
“I came here for three things, the first one is to say I’m sorry and ask you to forgive me for what I said to you the last time”
“Secondly”
“I don’t know if your mother already told you but she already signed the papers”
“Woow…..congrats Buddy, you now have your freedom hahahaha I’m so happy for you”
“Wait! Are you mocking me?”
“Not at all Dad…. But I’m interested in something, you look like you’re going through something, is there something you’re not letting out?”
“No….I’m fine, you’re just imagining things”
“If you say so….anyways what’s the third reason why you’re here”
“Does your Mum have a lover?”
“Wowowoo……Dad”
“Does she?”
“I don’t know”
“I know you know because you’re her friend, you’re her accomplice of late….. But do you realize what this is, what will people say when when they get to know she has a boyfriend”
“Wait! You’re indeed shameless Dad…. Suddenly it matters how I feel about what people would say when they hear my Mum has a boyfriend but it doesn’t matter how I feel what people say about my father’s twenty years old marriage to my mum has been nothing but a long walk to nothing….. You’re so selfish Donald”
“Don’t forget you’re talking to your Father” Donald is mad
“I know….I told you Dad, I said to you that the grass isn’t greener on the other side but how we get fooled with exciting new things makes us feel that way…..I told you it’s so easy to walk away even when you know the best thing to do would be to fix the current…. I told you this when you chose to be a teenager and left my Mum and I’m telling you now that you’re planning to leave Cecilia that you should try and and work things out with her, you can’t be running away from all your choices like that” Donald gets up
“I won’t sit hear and have you insult me like that” he begins to walk out but Eddy can’t contain his excitement and laughter
“I said it…there are great toxic souls out there with second intensions that will fool you into something temporary but temptations don’t always last long…. It’s the damage that is permanent” Donald can’t take it anymore so he walks out and slams the door in Eddy’s face leaving him laughing his lungs out…..
