Episode 25

AUTHORESS P.O.V

“I’m listening, can you just tell me now?” Rowen ask with a frown.

“Sure!” Emma replied and Rowen phone ring out loud.

“Shît!” Rowen said with a frown.

“Pick up your call,” Emma said and Rowen click on the answer button.

“Why are you disturbing my peace!” Rowen said angrily but calmly.

“Common baby, how can you say I’m disturbing your peace, I only call to hear from you, you just broke my heart” Austin’s said.

“I’m sorry, it’s just that you called st the wrong time” Rowen replied.

“How could you say I called at the wrong time, a whole me, Rowen remember I’m your wife” Austin said faking tears and sniffing at the same time.

“Austin what did you have to say?” Rowen ask. “Fine where are you?” Austin asked.

“I’m at Stanley penthouse” Rowen replied. “What are you doing there, I thought you’re don’t like going to that penthouse!” Austin said.

“Yeah, I know, I brought Emma here, I don’t wanna bring her to the house neither did I want to take her to an hotel” Rowen said.

“Oh, I know believe you truly love her, enjoy, but make sure you call me before you go to bed” Austin said and end the call before Rowen replied him.

“Mothèrf–kèr” Rowen said and burst into laughter.

“Your friend?” Emma asked and Rowen nod his head.

“The one that insulted me?” Emma asked again.

“Yeah, he’s not a troublesome person, he just like fighting for his friends” Rowen said.

“I understand” Emma replied with a smile.

“So back to what you wanna discuss with me” Rowen said with a smile.

“Yeah, I need advice, thou, I know what I want but I want to hear from you” Emma said. “Okay, I’m listening” Rowen replied and nod his head. “There’s one guy, Stanley Wilson, I’ve been dieing to partner with him, and I have the chance now but there’s a Condition” Emma said.

“Wait Stanley Wilson, the heir to Wilson construction company?” Rowen ask surprised.

“Sure did you know him?” Emma asked and Rowen hear beat fast.

“I don’t know him personally, but who won’t know Stanley Steve, they’re top number three of richest men” Rowen said sadly.

“Wow, I never knew you know him” Emma replied with a smile.

“So what was the condition?” Rowen ask dieing to here the condition.

“To be his contract fiance for two months!” Emma said.

“What! Good two months” Rowen yelled. “I hope all his well with you?” Emma asked surprised.

“Nothing dear, I’m sorry for overreacting, look here girl, I can’t stop you from doing what will make you happy, have being his contract fiance will make you happy go for it” Rowen said sadly.

“You don’t sounds happy, hope you’re okay?” Emma asked.

“Sure I’m fine” Rowen said forcing out smile. “Alright, I’ve decided to accept the offer, since I’m Single and it’s not as if I’m getting married, it will really help me alot” Emma said.

“Yeah, it’ll” Rowen replied with a fake smile. “So can we go to the kitchen now?” Emma asked.

“Sure we can!” Rowen replied immediately and they both walked to the kitchen.

“Wow this is beautiful!” Emma said looking around. Rowen walked to the freezer and pieces Chicken (broiler), he placed it on the counter and brought out knief.

He started cutting the chicken absent minded and they knife cut his hand.

“Oh my goodness! Why did you cut yourself?” Emma asked and rushed to his side.

“It’s nothing” he replied and quickly placed his finger under the running water.

“I’m fine, so come here and let me teach you how to prepare chicken sauce” Rowen said.

“Oh my God! I love chicken sauce alot, but it’s quite unfortunate that I can’t cook it” Emma said with a smile.

“Don’t worry I’ll teach you” Rowen said and force out a laugh.

He brought out Coconut Millk, Corn flour Green pepper, Carrots, cloves Garlic, Onion, white Pepper, Chicken Seasonin and Salt. “Here are the ingredients” he said and Emma smile at him.

“I think I’ll learn fast from you” Emma said and tiptoed before k!$sing him on his l-ips.

“I don’t really know what’s bothering you, but you don’t look happy to me, that k!$s is to cheer you up.

“Thanks” Rowen muttered with a smile.
“Watch me!” Rowen said placing two of his fingers near her eyes.

“Did you wanna blind me?” Emma asked with a smile. “No I can’t try that shît!” Emma replied.

“1 you’ll heat up the chicken with salt, white pepper and chicken seasoning, allow to marinade for about 30 minutes,” he said placing them in the pot and Emma nod her head.
“2, Heat up very little vegetable oil and brown the chicken on all sides, hope you’re following?” Rowen ask looking at her face.

“sure I’m , I really wanna learn how to prepare my favorite food” Emma replied.

“Good,” Rowen Drain out the remaining oil, and returned the chicken to the frying pan, he add chicken stock to the chicken and he also add garlic , onion and a bit of dry pepper.

He Cover the frying pan and cook the chicken till done on low heat. He added coconut milk to a pot, and bring it out to boil.

He add the chicken with the little sauce he get from the steaming and he cook for 3 minutes. He tasted it and modded his head.

He used a little cold water to dissolve the corn flour and stir quickly into the coconut sauce .

He lower the heat and cook the sauce for another 3 minute.

He added the carrot first and cook for 2 minutes and add the remaining vegetables and cook for one minute.

“It’s ready” Rowen said and brought out two plates. “Gosh! You’re a good teacher, I’ll like to learn more from you” Emma said smiling.

“Good!” Rowen said and placed the chicken sauce on a plate.

“It’s time to eat!” Emma said jumping happily, swaging her leg in the hair.

“Did you wanna hurt yourself?” Rowen ask with a frown.

“I love you for teaching me this!” Emma said happily.

“What did you just said?” Rowen ask happily and placed the food gently on the table and.

“Hey don’t get your hopes high, I’m not the one talking, it’s my stomach” Emma said.

“Whatever, as far as I heard I love you from your mouth, this is enough to make my night”” Rowen said happily.

Emma phone ring out loud and she stare at her phone screen.

“Pick your call!” Rowen said with a smile.

“I don’t like picking calls from unknown numbers” Emma replied.

“Who knows, if the person wanna discuss something important with you” Rowen said.

“I don’t like picking strange number, but I’ll pick it up, I hope it’s not the person I’ve in mind” Emma said and click on the answer button.

“Hello Miss Maxwell, this is Stanley” Stanley said from the other end of the call.

“Oh Mr Stanley hope you’re good?” Emma asked.

“Sure I’m, hope your day went well?” Stanley asked.

“Sure my day went well, my day was splendid” Emma replied.

“I’m calling to remind you of the thing we talk about, I’m really ancipating for your answer, please dont let me down” Stanley said from the other end of the call.

“Mr Stanley, I’ll see you tomorrow in your office” Emma said.

“Why my office? We can see in somewhere else, like restaurant” Stanley said.

“Alright no problem, choose the restaurant and I’ll be there” Emma said with a smile and Rowen clenched his fists in anger.

“No you can choose the restaurant!” Stanley said.

“I’ll call you tomorrow then” Emma replied.

“Alright take good care of yourself Miss Maxwell and send my regards to your friends” Stanley said.

“I’ll do just that Mr Stanley” Emma replied and end the call. “Let’s eat!” Emma said to Rowen.

“I’m not hungry, you can eat all the food” Rowen said.

“But why?, We prepared the food together?” Emma asked. “I lost appetite already” Rowen replied.

“Common, you’ve to eat” Emma said and Rowen hold her hands immediately.

“Promise me you won’t fall in love with him!” Rowen said and Emma opened her mouth in shock

“Good day, Mr Maxwell!” Leo the Private investigator greet.

“why are you here, why can’t you wait till tomorrow?” Mr Maxwell asked.

“I’m sorry, if I disturb you, I just have to discuss something important with you” Leo said.

“Hope my daughter is fine?” Mrs Maxwell asked immediately.

Episode 26

AUTHORESS P.O.V

“Yeah, she’s” Leo replied with a frown. “Your face is scaring me, hope all is well?” Maxwell asked.

“Relax honey, I believe Miss Maxwell is fine,” Mr. Maxwell said.

“Leo talk, what happened?” Mr. Maxwell said. “Emma has moved out of Paris and I can’t trance her new location!” Leo replied.

“I knew it, my daughter is very smart, but I’ll get Miss Maxwell no matter what,” Mr. Maxwell said.

“I told you we should be fast about it, Emma has outsmarted us now,” Mrs. Maxwell said.

“Relax honey we will get her, she can’t be smarter than me, never,” Mr. Maxwell said.

“I don’t know why, Emma wanna give me hypertension,” Mrs. Maxwell said.

“Common honey, Emma loves us, so she can’t give you hypertension, I’ll get her before the engagement, trust me,” Mr. Maxwell said.

“How did you expect me to trust you when Emma have run away, how did she even know that we have gotten her location?” Mrs. Maxwell asked.

“That’s to show you that my daughter is very wise and smart,” Mr. Maxwell said.

“Can I take my leave?” Leo asked.

“No, make sure you track her new location, or else, you’ll stop working for me and you know what that means,” Mr. Maxwell said and Leo bow his head.

“Alright Mr. Maxwell, give me one week” Leo replied.

“A week is too much, she needs to prepare for her engagement” Mrs. Maxwell yelled.

“Relax honey,” Mr Maxwell said and face Leo. “Alright take your time,” Mr. Maxwell said.

“Goodnight sir” Leo replied and walked out.

He entered his car and hit his car staring angrily.

“Why did I even tell her that I know his location in the first place, I don’t want her to get married to her mother friend’s son, I want her!” Leo said angrily.

“She’s mine, I’ll make sure I find her and this time I’m not gonna tell anyone her location,” Leo said and brought out his phone.

He dialed Emma’s number and wait for her to pick up.

“Gosh!, She’s not picking my calls,” Be said hitting his staring hærd.

“Come to think of it, did I even love this girl?” Leo asked himself.

EMMA P.O.V

“What are you talking about?” Emma asked. “I love you, I can’t take it if you fall in love with someone else,” he said close to tears.

Did he truly love me? I don’t wanna even think about that.

“Look here Rowen, love isn’t my thing, I can’t risk it,” I said holding his hand and he look at me with tears in his eyes.

“I love you Emma, I’ve never felt like this before, I can die of I see with you someone else, I don’t wanna share you with someone else,” Rowen said.

“Look at me, you don’t need to cry, why don’t you just give the love to someone that worth it, I love you as a friend and f–k buddy, I can’t allow myself to fall in love, that shît is very risky I don’t wanna stress my heart, you can try Someone else please” I replied.

“Babe you don’t know what you’re doing to me, I don’t understand myself since I met you, I can kîll myself if you fall in love with someone else, I want you to please!” He said.

“I’m very sure I’m not your first love, what happened to her? Why did you break up with her?” I said standing up because I’m very sure he will also tell his first love then that If she leaves him he will dîe.

“You don’t know me, Emma!” Rowen said.

“I don’t wanna know you though, I just wanna know what happened to your first love,” i said.

“She left me!” Rowen replied.

“For no reason?” I replied with a frown.

“It’s a long story!” Rowen said.

“Can you make it short?” I asked him and he nod his head.

He cleaned his face with the back of his hand. “I caught her with my brother when I came back from catering school” he replied.

“Was she the only person you’ll ever dated?” I asked again.

“No I dated Dora, but she did the same thing” he replied.

“Huh, are you sure you aren’t lieing, anyway that’s none of my business, Rowen, you’re a handsome guy, yes I must admit it, if not for the fact that I don’t wanna get married, I don’t wanna fall in love, yeah! Gone are those days, I will have dated you, but now I’m not ready to stress my heart, I came to Paris because my parents are bugging me to get married” I said to him.

“Why don’t you believe in love?” He asked me and I smile out.

“Like every other person, I had always wished to know the feelings of love, to give and to get it in return,” I said and he nod his head.

“but the relationsh¡p never seemed to be my thing, that shît has never worked for me, as I always ended up being the victim of one-sided love.

After trying a series of relationsh¡ps, without any, working out for me, I decided to give up on love and started sleeping around with men, after all, I have the money and beauty to get any man I want, I’ve discovered it’s not about the man that dumb me, my relationsh¡p isn’t just for me, it’s not for me, I just wanna get laid, and nothing more, I don’t need a man in my life, I’m a successful lady, I can adopt a child anytime I need one” I said and he sigh.

“It’s okay to get tired or take a break from relationsh¡p, but it’s not okay to give up, I think our story is similar, I also ran away from home, because my parents wanna dictate my life, they want me to take over there companies, which I did and I have made a lot of money for them, they’re the top two of the richest men, just because of me but they don’t want me to pursue my dream of becoming a chef, my father said being a chef is a dîrty job, he thinks I wanna tarnish his image,” he said.

“Oh my goodness! You’re Rowan Hunt?” I asked surprised because I don’t believe my ear right now, I think my ear is misbehaving.

“Yeah, I’m!” He replied and look away.

“Goodness! Why did you even decide to be a chef in the first place?” I asked surprised.

“I love it!” Rowen replied.

“Why don’t you just open your restaurant then?” Emma asked.

“I’ve countless restaurants, I just wanna keep a low life to find someone that loves me dearly, and I love keeping a low profile, it gives me joy,” Rowen said.

“Yeah, because we’ve never seen Mr. Hunt son picture before, we just know he has a son called Rowen” Emma replied.

“Yeah, I begged my mother to keep me off social media” he replied.

“Oh, nice meeting you Mr. Rowen Hunt” I said with a smile.

“Common!” He replied with a smile.

“So back to our discussion, I can kill myself if you fall in love with Stanley, I won’t stop you to partner with him since it’s your dream,” he said.

“I can’t fall in love with him, my heart is strong like rock and I can’t love you either, love isn’t my thing,” I said.

“I’ll make you love me, I don’t just want you to fall in love with someone else, because my feelings get no remedy, I just have to endure for the main time,” He said.

“Let me see you try,” I said and he slams his l-ips on mine.

“Hey let’s eat first,” I said stopping him with my hand.

“No, I’ll eat later!” He replied.

“Our efforts will go in vain,” I said and he frown his face.

He grumpily sat down and shift the food to himself.

Looking at him closely he’s very handsome, that is what moves me to him.

“Sincerely speaking, you’re a good cook!” I said.

“Yeah, I’m doing my dream work,” he said with a proud smirk.

“Did your parents know that you’re in Paris?” I asked.

“They don’t know and they can never find out” he replied.

“The lady I beat up at my restaurant, she’s your ex-girlfriend right?” I asked and he nod his head.

“Did she know you’re from a rich family?” I asked because she said he should come and work in his restaurant.

“She doesn’t, she cheated on me because she felt I’m poor and I always tried my possible best to satisfy her and take care of her needs, even when i don’t want her to know that I’m rich, I make sure I spent all my salary on her.” he replied.

“Oh you’re so good at keeping secrets,” I said. “I did that to find true love,” he said.

“You’ll soon find one you’re a good guy” I replied.

“Yeah, I’ve already found one and that’s you!” He replied with a smile.

“Keep dreaming my dear” I replied and he stood up immediately and moved closer to me. “What are you trying to do?” I asked.

“Watch me!” He replied with a smile.

“Brittany someone is here to see you?” Nadia said. “Who’s that?” Brittle asked.

“I don’t know the person covered herself with a hoodie and I figure out she’s a lady,” Nadia said.

“By this time of the day,” Brittany said yawing loudly. “You should go check the person, and I brought this for you,” Nadia said and gave her a bag.

“Thanks to your boyfriend, because I won’t thank you,” Brittany said.

“Really? Don’t expect anything from me ever again” Nadia said with a frown. “Don’t tell me you’re jèàlóûs of your boyfriend?” Brittany asked. “Whatever!’ Nadia replied.

“Let me go and check the person,” Brittany said with a smile and drop the bad carefully on her bed before walking out of the room. “Alright I’ll be in my room” Nadia said.
